oulook 2K cannot remove mailbox

Q: oulook 2K cannot remove mailbox

I have a friend who is using outlook 2k and an exchange server. A person's mailbox who no longer works there is in her outlook and i try to close it but it says to go into the services to remov ethe mailbox. I did that, but only see her exchange profile in there.
Can't seem to figure this one out. Anyone's help is greatly appreciated.

Preferred Solution: oulook 2K cannot remove mailbox

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello everyibe,
We have a hydride infrastructure, with E2016 onpremise and O365 (Exchange, teams...). On both sites we have the same users and separate created mailboxes.
We are migrating mailboxes from Ex2016 to O365 in phases to remove E2016.
Users on both sites have the same mailbox name. Example: E2016 [email protected] and O365 mailbox [email protected]
When we migrate a user's mailbox to O365 and from ExchangeOnline we send an email to a non-migrated user, the email reaches the existing mailbox in O365, not the onpremise mailbox.
An alias has been created for non-migrated users in O365, marking themselves as main and we have tried to delete the default email address given by the username. But even if the latter is deleted, the deleted email address always appears, so the email always
reaches O365 and not E2016.

Is there any way that when a user with a migrated O365 mailbox sends an email to a user with a mailbox in E2016 onpremise, the email does not go to the O365 mailbox and to the onpremise mailbox?
What would be the solution to keep the default username (for teams solutions, etc) and to be able to modify the email in O365?
Thank you

I am new here; this is my first time asking for help. And I know very little about computers to boot. But I have a problem and I would like to have some help.

Background: I just switched from dial-up to high-speed internet (Charter). I have XP Home and have been using Outlook for my email. I also have Norton Internet Security 2005 which I installed not all that long ago. The problem is that Charter only supports Outlook Express, not Outlook. I have tried to get my computer (Gateway 5300 Solo laptop) to connect to OE numerous times but have been unsuccessful. After about 40 minutes a technician from Charter said that NIS is not compatible with Outlook Express. True? If so, what would you do if you were me? At this point, I would uninstall my Norton firewall and everything I have from NIS and put in something else. But I have no idea what to replace it with. What would you do if you were me? Thanks in advance for the help which I hope will be coming my way.

My kids claim that they didn't do anything, but when I sat down to check my email tonight I found that Outlook won't run.

I get that message that Outlook failed to start correctly last time and to choose to start in safe mode. I choose "yes" but it still fails to run.

I tried "outlook /safe" from Start>Run but that failed and started "detect and repair", which said something about XP and Front Page. But that also didn't help.

I also looked in the Control Panel>Add/Remove Progs to find the repair option but no Office stuff is in there.

Thanks for any suggestions

Try repair again , following these steps .

Repair Outlook
http://www.ecu.edu/itcs/outlookproj/OutlookRepair/Outlook 2000 Repair.htm
Like the rest of the Office 2000 family, Outlook 2000 includes some self-diagnostic and self-repair tools. If Outlook determines that a part of its core files have been damaged or deleted, for example, it recommends that you run a repair program so that it can fix itself. Likewise, if you notice that something is amiss, you can use Outlook's Detect and Repair features to let Outlook fix itself.

Step 1: Choose Detect and Repair

If Outlook begins to behave oddly or crash unexpectedly, key files may have been damaged. You can let Outlook repair itself by choosing Help, Detect and Repair from the menu bar.

Step 2: Start the Repair

Outlook displays the Detect and Repair dialog box. Click the Start button to begin the diagnostic process.

Step 3: Wait for Outlook

It may take several minutes while Outlook gets ready to perform its diagnostic. Stand by while Outlook readies itself.

Step 4: Close Outlook

You may see an unmarked dialog box with one or more programs listed. This dialog box indicates that you have to close the programs before Outlook can proceed. Close the necessary programs and then click the Cancel button on the dialog box.

Step 5: Insert the CD-ROM

Outlook will probably request the CD-ROM that contains Outlook 2000. Insert that disc in your CD-ROM drive and click OK to continue.

Step 6: Outlook Repairs Itself

I'm running outlook express and I do love it but I've had this issue before and I believe it's because I have SO many messages. When it sends a message I get an error, and it DOESN'T say what the error is. The message actually gets sent but then STAYS in my outbox and repeatedly gets sent over and over until I delete it. This has happened before to me. The only way I was able to fix it was to DELETE my SENT box. Reopen and have outlook express generate a new one, but right now, I have several folders branching OFF my sent file i.e. sent old, or sent 2006. If I delete my sent box, will it delete all of the folders branching OFF my sent box????
Thats my first question

My second question is; I'm certainly open to other mail programs. What I'm looking for is a mail program that would let me specify ACCEPTABLE INCOMING addresses so if someone WASN'T on a certain list, they wouldn't be allowed to email me. Does anyone know an email program like that?

Thanks so much!!! Maryann

For #1 - probably dbx corruption - read here;

For #2 - you can specify mailers you don't want to receive from by adding them to your Mail/Tools/Message Rules/blocked senders list. This just basically routes their mail right to the dump.

I would check the profile path and see their is a legitimate PST file.

C:\Documents and Settings\(Your Login name accessing Outlook)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

PST is stored there. But also 2007 installs that darn Biz Contact Manager SQL service. Sometimes that service goes haywire or by accident people turn it off under "Start>Run>Msconfig" I had lots of errors with Biz Contanct Manager with Outlook 2003 and also 2007. MS should dump it, I can see the added database ability in indexing your contacts and grouping them. But who cares really if it slows down performance and causes errors more than it helps? It also stores separately than the PST file.

Generally you can troubleshoot most Outlook problems by remembering two simple things, when outlook is thinking and can't access something it wants; it will simply give an error and not do what you'd like. Not being able to backup or import is a case of the association of the PST data file not accessing right in most cases. And cryptic errors are generally a service problem that was not installing correctly or is dependent on a service that is not running correctly. PST can be checked with my above path listed and generally even if you system is looking if you have admin rights you can copy it directly from the folder source regardless if outlook is behaving or not. Recently had to do system recovery to stabilize my computer (HP w/ XP). I have two problems now. (1) Outlook Express allows me to receive, but not send emails [times out when tried], (2) IE7 seems to be damaged. I can access some websites, slowly, but not others. A good example of this is ebay where I have no problem getting to the website or doing a search. I can get a list of related auctions, but cannot open the individual auctions. Same with AOL. I can access AOL Home, get to the sign in (though very very slowly), and can even view the email in-basket, but cannot open anything (bad website note). Deleting cookies, and completing a IE7 reset to the default settings didn't work.

I can access Yahoo, but cannot sign in for the same reason.

I downloaded another copy of IE7, not yet installed, and am prepared to install it if I have to delete my existing IE program. I have similar problems with Opera, Safari, & Foxfire.

I deleted the firewall program (Mcafee Security Suite) in case that was the problem (perhaps also corrupted), but got no change.

While using Oulook Calander 2003 I could change the color of events as I completed them. Even if they were reoccuring events, I changed the color of each individual event as they were completed. This way with just one glance at my calander I could see what was left to be done.

But in 2007, I so far have not found a way to do this. If I try to change the color of one incidence of a reoccuring event it will only change the entire series, and this does not help me at all.

while learning more and more about Outlook and Outlook Express, i learned that there was a feature under the "advanced" tab in account options to LEAVE A COPY OF MESSAGE ON THE SERVER... this was exactly what i was looking to do because several people must be able to access the mail from one account (shared account) i have to set up several people's computer to use Outlook / Outlook Express, and I am having difficulty getting it to "leave a copy of message on the server" because the first time i set up outlook, it automatically connects to the server during setup and i can't get to the advanced options until after i go through the setup process.
