I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I have some issues with my c540 all in one touch. A couple weeks ago, I noticed a burning smell coming from inside the pc, and then a little smoke. There was also a clicking sound from the speakers after I turned it on. Of course I turned it off, and unplugged it all. I did some research then on my other pc, and found that this was/is an ongoing issue within this particular pc. Isn't anything being done about this, to ensure people don't end up being killed? Luckily, I caught it in time, and was able to purchase another sata cable on ebay, but I shouldn't have had to do that. What if I wasn't home? The whole house could have burned down, and our pets would have been here!! Again, I bought another sata cable, but I'm really on edge, fearing it will happen again. I also have another question - where can I find a list of parts that are compatible with this all in one? I want to replace the ethernet card, if possible, as it's not very good, neither is the wifi. I would like to have someone within lenovo comment on the burned cable issue, and please don't say you don't know anything about it, it is apparently a huge and widespread issue. You can see the melted bit. This all happened after only being on for about 1-2 minutes.?This is the burned part on the internal metal casing near the MB. I scraped it, to see how bad it was.?

This just started one day when I turned on my Lenovo. I have lines in my c540 that begin when i first press the power button and gradually fade unitl i have green on the left side that fades to black. Also should note i have no hdd connected. My Lenovo U410 Touch recently got damaged - the hinge broke causing the touch screen to **bleep**.I was told that a repair was not feasible as none of the repair shops near me were able to source the parts needed.I therefore bought a new laptop. However, there is a lot of data on the old laptop that I want to access, including sorting out the licensing of MS Office (by uninstalling from the old one).I cannot do anything about it as the old machine is completely unusable as due to the touch screen being cracked, it seems to think it is constantly being touched in multiple places on the screen. This means that I cannot access the laptop to copy the data or uninstall Office. Anyone know any way around this that doesn't involve taking it to a repair shop to "recover" my data. Hi Magnutus, welcome to the forums.
Please check if you Lenovo S210 is on warranty under with this tool.
After that you can open a ticket with Lenovo for the screen to be fixed, if it is not under warranty it will have a cost.
If you are the guys that like to fix it yourself (and it is not under warranty) I can recommend you to check the support site for your model, read the Hardware Maintenance Manual (on the documents area) and check how the machine is organized on the inside. On the parts lookup page you can find the parts number so you can find a replacements for the component that is giving you issues.
I hope this links helps you.
Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40°. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. I had no luck trying driver versions 18.104.22.168, 22.214.171.124 and 126.96.36.199. I would really appreciate your help since this issue makes working in the tablet position... As I was using my laptop, a Y50-70 Touch, it turned itself off and now I've been unable to turn it back on at all. When I hit the Power Button it lights up for a second or so, as do the white LED indicator lights on the front of the laptop, but nothing else happens, the keyboard backlights doesn't turn on and there are no other sounds from the laptop, no fans, nothing. It does this with the power cord plugged and the battery in and every other configuration possible, nothing. I'v removed the battery and tried to discharge any additional charge left by holding the power button down for extended periods of time, I've also hit it at least 30 times or more. It doesn't do anything when the battery is put back in. I've tried this multiple times. I've checked every connector and they all seem perfectly fine. Im out of warranty so I can't send it in to be fixed. This laptop has been a disaster, the screen constantly flickers and the hinges are both cracked. I'll never buy another Lenovo.Read other answers

My Lenovo Y50-70 (Core i7-4720HQ, 8GB RAM, GTX 960M). Would sometimes randomly shut off. Like as I open it, it would freeze, and then I hear a small pop and my laptop shuts off. It would normally turn on and fully load everything after around 20 seconds. But after shutting off; as I try to open it again. it would be MUCH MUCH longer. And performance also seems to be slowed. I updated everything I can, but left the Bios out. After a friend told me about it. I tried to update it too. But even after updating it. it would still randomly shut off. What do I have to do to fix it? Overheating is not an issue, because even when the instance of opening my laptop is DONE. it still shuts off. And after playing CS:GO, Dark Souls 3, or Overwatch after a while. It wouldn't shut off.Read other answers
Hello, Basically my direct ethernet connection keeps cutting out, and I have discovered its because the little black clip that holds the cable in the laptop has snapped inside. Good day One of my clients came to me with a laptop issue She hasa Lenovo G500S Touch laptop. It sometimes freezes at the Lenovo Bios Screen. She is running Windows 7 on it as she does not like Windows 8 Now it does not happen all the time but its frustrating to her as she is not tech minded and she just wants the thing to work. Sometimes it starts up normally and sometimes it just hangs at the Lenovo screen. I have tried removing the battery (sometimes it works) , tried resesting the bios and disabling USB boot. I have also tried to remove the hard drive and check it in another PC and its fine. When it does start then its fine. it mostly happends when she moves the laptop around or puts it in a bag and takes it out again. There are no bios updates for the Lenovo G500S touch but only for the Lenovo G500S which does not work on the Laptop. Is there anything else we can try as she has spent so much money on this laptop trying to get it repaired as she does photo editing on it and I know the warranty has expired on the laptop and at that stage she did not take out extended warranty. Is the motherboard now defective ? Please advise as I have never seen this in my IT career and now I don't think I must recommend Lenovo PCs to my clients if they are going to give these issues. I have even cleaned the RAM Slots too Looking forward to help here. Regards Roger StaceRSCOMPUTER SERVICE AND RETAIL SOUTH AFRICA.
Without seeing the notebook myself I could only state that it sounds like a connection between main board and attached daughter boards in the case. Ribbon cable, connectors and such do come loose over time. The other things that could cause this would be damages from a drop or liquid spill... Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
If the machine is showing No Pen and Touch Input under system properties then it's not identifying the screen as Touch capable.

Things that you can try:
1. Perform a System Recovery via the OneKey Recovery button to check if the issue is on the OS level (ensure you backup important files first as this procedure will wipe all data on the OS partition).
2. Use HWINFO or similar utility to identify the monitor used on the system and compare it to the Touchscreen panels used on the Y50-70 Touch.

Alternatively, you can post the machine type model (eg. 59-123456) of the Y50 for me to check if it has touchscreen capability or not.

Hello. My girlfriend has a Lenovo y50 Touch with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860m GPU. It has perfomed well, however when I recently installed AutoCAD 2015 on it, I found out that it is actually using the Intel Integrated graphics card instead.
Rant:This is very disappointing because I advised her to purchase this one because of the dedicated graphics, and if it is not even going to use it then she could have saved a lot of money buying one without it.
Anyways, I have tried a few things to fix it, namely going to the Nvidia Control Panel and chaning the prefered graphics card to to the Nvidia. But I right-click on autocad and go to "Run with Graphics Processor >" it still shows the intel as the default, and even when I chose nvidia, the intel is still shown as the graphics processor from the autocad setting.
In short, I need help enabling the dedicated nvidia graphics card and using that insetad of the intel integrated. Any help is much appreciated! Please let me know what additional information would be needed.
See this AutoCad knowledgebase. Hopefully you can disable the intel card in BIOS as the article states.
Edit: This could lead to trouble I will post the link shortly. Here it is.
This has been an extremely aggrivating issue for a while. After updating the BIOS the other week, the issue stopped completely; however, the second the newest NVidia (364.47) driver finished installation, the screen flickering immediately started again. Any help on fixing this issue, that does not require dismantling my computer, would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have an envy m6 touchscreen that is giving me problems that i can't solve. It has been great up until recently. i was using my laptop last nite when suddenly it turned off but i didn't think that the battery shoukd have been dead yet. its acting as if the bat is empty and plugging it in just turn on the orange led by the power plug. when i press the power button it flashes for a second but the screen does nothing and it doesn't actually turn on.I'm using my phone to attempt to find a solution atm which is very frustrating. adding to the stress is the fact that i have school work projects and a midterm project on it that I need to finish.Almost forgot to mention it started doing a few other odd things over the last week such as the touchscreen going nuts registering phantom touches endlessly until i close/hibernate/shutdown it.
Ok thank you. i was hoping that there might be some little trick i had not encpuntered yet but was afraid that it really is just a hardware issue and requires calling in. i will try to do that today if possibleRead other 10 answers
There seems to be an answer for every Thinkpad but this one, nothing I do can turn the Touch Pad off....I like to use a Mouse. Thanks in advance for the help!!
There is no "nice" option to disable touchscreen, for what I read you need to disable it from the Windows Device Manager.
It is like: Open Device Manager > expand "Human Interface Devices" > right-click "HID-compliant touch screen" and select "Disable".
Check if you find the correct "Human Interface Devices" to disable. This is how users are disable the touchscreen.
My computer just won't turn on anymore. I tried almost everything on the forums about how to turn it back on. But it still won't turn on. So I took it to a local computer repair shop, they said my mother board is damaged. But they didn't look at the mother board, they just tested out the power cord and see if it gives off the right amount of amps. They said it does. So I'm lost and don't know what to do, this is my first computer and I use it for just about everything. If anyone has a tip or two that would be helpful.Read other answers
Ok I have this laptop that belonged to my father and I have a problem. Basically I am wanting to turn off the 'tapping' on the touch pad but I just can't.
I have searched online for an answer but nothing I try will work. There are no settings in the control panel, either in the mouse settings or anywhere else that let you turn the tapping off.
Something I read said to press Fn and F9 but that does nothing.
I do remember turning the tapping off once when my dad had the laptop but I can't do it the same way because I installed a fresh copy of Windows and it wasn't from the recovery CD so the software for the touch pad isn't there.
I have tried searching for the software but it appears that this model of laptop doesn't exist!
It is a Toshiba Equium EA60-173 and the model number is PSA67E-00700C8J but I just can't find anything to do with the laptop on the Toshiba website. I did manage to find and try a program called Toshiba Touch and Launch which let me change some aspects of the touch pad but not the blasted tapping.
So if anyone can think of anything else I can try apart from what I have tried already then I'm all ears.
Thanks in advance.
