I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Having .iaf type accounts from former Outlook (2000) and Outlook Express, is there a way to import these into Outlook 2013 rather than manually keying them on a restore?

added:
- From what I've been gathering, this cannot be done. That signatures have to be manually recreated. This right? Even when restoring Outlook 2013 to Outlook 2013 - they aren't stored in a retrievable spot?

Hi Everyone,

I recently created a new profile in Outlook 2013 (using Control Panel > Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2013)(32-Bit)) due to my Inbox becoming corrupt (as the result of intermediate Exchange Server access).

In the new profile I have successfully added my primary email account, and I am receiving / sending emails fine. However when I add additional accounts either through the Control Panel > Mail..., or Outlook 2013 > File Tab > Add Account I am not able to see them in the left hand panel of Outlook.

Furthermore they are not shown in the File tab of Outlook under the Account Information heading.

If I then attempt to add the extra accounts again I see the message below -

Because I am unable to see the extra account I am unable to click on Repair or Change.

If anybody else has encountered this issue can you please share your experiences?

Kind Regards,

Davo

I use Outlook 2016 for all my email requirements.

One BTinternet.com email address
One Outlook.com email address

Previously had above two email accounts sending and receiving from the same PST file each using POP3.

Wanted to change the Outlook.com to IMAP with my understanding being that this would then sync both ways with the web-mail for Outlook.com.

Deleted the old POP3 account settings for the Outlook.com email address and then went through the process of setting up again using the automatic configuration rather than the "manually configure" thinking this would automatically use IMAP. (Left settings unchanged for the POP3 BTinternet.com email address).

To my surprise the Outlook.com email address was not setup as an IMAP but as an Exchange Server.

Initially thought this would be ok as this would also sync both ways with web-mail. Soon discovered however that any email coming in to my still remaining BTinternet POP3 email address was also arriving into the Outlook.com Inbox.

Why is this happening and what do I have to do to still keep the POP3 email separate from the Exchange Server email each using their own Inbox? (Both Inbox's are listed in the left hand panel of Outlook 2016).

Any help much appreciated.

In various places it says to close down Outlook 2013 prior to restoring from a .pst. To simply copy and paste the .pst file into the proper location which is often listed as an email address.

Why is this, and does restoring in this way really apply when restoring Outlook 2013 from earlier versions of Outlook?

I recently imported a .pst file from Outlook 2000 into 2013 (all emails/contacts) and to my amazement, the source 398 MB .pst ballooned to over 1 GB.

Does importing the .pst ( as opposed to copying and pasting while Outlook 2013 is closed) cause such great multiplications in file size of the .pst?

A:Outlook 2013 - restoring from .pst & closing Outlook

It is always good to use the Import option if you want to Import the .pst files from a very older version of Outlook. Outlook 2003 and later versions use a different file format compared to earlier versions of Outlook. That could be the reason why the file size has increased.

Hello again kapilkaaiser,
I think you need to import the required info into Outlook 2007 -

In Outlook 2007, click File > Import and Export > Make the appropriate choices

Hi,

I've read in many forums about Outlook/Office365 using a tremendous amount of bandwidth. I have an office with 10 heavy outlook users, half being delegates of the bosses that have HUGE mailboxes (~15GB) and that refuse to archive emails.

They have a 30M internet connection that seemingly is not enough and constantly makes their Outlooks "hang" when searching for delegated contacts or just sending and replying to emails with big attachments etc.

I just want to confirm that this is seemingly is the case and that it's nothing else weird. Does it sound right to you guys? I told them to get the max bandwidth they can get there, which is 50MB but they are at the point where they are grumpy and don't believe my advice to upgrade their connection.

Thanks,

K

I have 2 accounts I need to combine into one inbox in my Outlook. Previously my Outlook 2007 seems to have done this without any problem.
Right now in Outlook 2013 they appear as separate accounts with their own Inboxes, etc.
One is my IMAP AOL.com account, the other is my POP 3 business account which is currently set as the default for sending.
I have tried to use the "Change Folder" link that shows at the bottom of the Account Settings page for the POP 3 business account without success. It shows the delivery location to be the Inbox for the business account which is fine, I think.
I have no "Change Folder" link option on the Account Settings for the IMAP AOL account.
How do I change the delivery location for this to be the same as the POP 3 business account?

Hi. I had to replace my HD. In the process, I am having to import my Outlook Express 6 Folders, Address Book and Accounts. The place I am importing them from is a slave drive that, as far as I know, had everything sent to it before the Master HD was replaced.

The Folders and the Address Book were found and Imported. Pretty easy as finding *.wab and *.dbx. The problem is that I can't find where the Mail Accounts are so that I can import them.

It would save me a lot of headache to be able to import them instead of trying to remember what they all were.

Thanks, Steve-x8086

Under account settings > Add

For multiple accounts, I'm trying to understand if the data for each account is held separately.

My main concern is to have a single backup location, not 10 or 12 that represent all of my email accounts.

I know you can create another account, like "My Personal Folders" (not based on an email name) from "Create or Open Data File" that will show within the folder list. But how might all the accounts be associated?

If the user goes to Export - with all subfolders checked. Does it matter which email account is present above all the folders being exported while doing so - this is no minor point?

- Much appreciate any help. Even a manual like "Plain and Simple, Microsoft Outlook"(Boyce) doesn't clarify.

A:Outlook 2013 - Organizing Multiple Accounts for Backup

It depends on how you have set up your Outlook. If each account is using a separate Personal folder, then each is a separate PST file. Look on your system and see if you have more than one PST file.

I have all of my email going into one PST file, from 4 different email addresses.

Hello.
I've just found a pst file with all my old email. I'd like to put them back on the server (hotmail) but before doing that I've seen that some of them were not recived (or sent) to my actual address (@hotmail.com) but to an old one (@infinito.it). So I was thinking to export them from outlook 2013 to CSV, modify that address into the new one and then import them back on outlook 2013. The problem is that when I export them to CSV, in that file they don't have the date (received or sent) and so when I get them back on outlook 2013 they miss that info.
Can anyone help me doing this? I've been told that VBA macro should be useful for this, but having a look in it I have no idea of what I sould do.
Ah, instead of outlook 2013 I can also use thunderbird (45.3.0) if it's easier with it, but then I'd have to convert that pst file.
Thanks!

G'day,

Looking for advice on what my problem could be. I'm running an older computer (can't afford new one just yet) and late last year I was given access to Office 2016, courtesy of my employer.

Since then, running three email accounts, thwo of them work well, both Bigpond.com accounts, the third seemingly freezes my computer with a busy I/O to the hard drive. With this I've even let it run overnight to see if it was just downloading excess emails from this account or some other data, still continues to sit with a busy I/O at the drive. During this time the computer is unuseable, mouse and keyboard won't respond, only way out is to hold the power button till it shuts down.

My system is running Win 10 with Office 2016 and the third party email account is hosted via irataweb.net.au, which via it's IT support I have been assured that it's running properly, even had that email account rebuilt to ensure the problem wasn't there.

Any thoughts?

UPDATE #2 - Seems this problem is inherent in Outlook 2013 design - see http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/newmailalert.htm
The "OutlookTools" App does not seem to work with Outlook 2013, but I did change the Registry Key as stated so that the Desktop Message stays up for 5 hours (long enough for me).
I would still like the Envelope Icon on the Task Bar for emails with Rules applied, if at all possible.

With no RULE (Filter) in place, when I receive an email in Outlook 2013 I get all three of these. Fine.
These settings are made in FILE / OPTIONS / MAIL under "Message Arrival"

A:outlook 2013 email question

This is going to be very difficult to answer without additional information.

It is not uncommon at all for e-mail clients to download nothing but the message header, but not the message content, until you try to open it.  This saves bandwidth and lets you mark stuff as junk without ever having opened the message or downloaded the message content.

It's also not uncommon, if this is how you have Outlook configured, to get a message if the Outlook client is trying to retrieve the message body from the server and that is delayed for any reason.

If you still have the message and/or can do a screen capture (Alt+Prt Sc) of the message dialog and post it that would be helpful.  I'm willing to bet that the message dialog would not appear again if the content was fetched the last time you touched the e-mail message under discussion.

Hello. so here is my story -

We used outlook express on our computer until it crashed last month. We got a new computer and installed a fresh copy of outlook express.

Now boss wants me to pull up an old email from last year. the new installation of outlook express does not have any of the old emails. We never did any backups of outlook express on the old computer, not even sure if you are supposed to.
Someone also suggested that we could have imported the old emails at the time of installation, but i dont know if thats true or not.

On the old computer, whenever we opened outlook express, all of our old emails were there. They must be stored somewhere. I have no idea how to get access to these old emails. We have the old hard drive installed as a secondary drive, so i can search it. but i cant figure out where or how all the old emails are stored. checked the outlook express folder, my documents. also tried a google search for outlook express restore programs, but nothing seemed suitable.

If anyone can help me get back these old emails from a previous copy of outlook express, that would be greatly appreciated.

A:how do I get different email accounts in outlook?

You need three POP host accounts to separate the mail that way. My guess is you only have a single POP host account.

I solved that problem with my wife by routing her mail from my domain to her Comcast POP mailbox. That way she has a permanent email address, but currently gets it from Comcast. If I change from Comcast, I'll just forward it somewhere else.

There are methods to deal with a single POP host and multiple mail accounts, you just need to install a mail forwarding program that maps different email addresses to different virtual POP host addresses.

I want to create a custom form to always show the outlook attachment field.

We work with a lot of PDF files and would like to be able to drag and drop PDF pages from Adobe Reader Pro to the message body of the new e-mail. This is exctracting a PDF page directly into a newly composed e-mail.

The described function above only works when there is already one attachment added, when a PDF page is extracted into the new e-mail message body and it is the first attachment Outlook 2013 does not attach the file,

Because of this reason I want to create a custom form for composing new e-mail messages, on this form I would like to always have the attachment field visible, even when empty.

I have been in the form editor, but the field is called "Attached", this field is nowhere to be found. I can add a field "Attachment", but this is a YES/NO field with a tickbox.

Does anyone have experience in how to do the above?

All of the sent messages do show up in the Sent folder when I access the account with my web browser. Recipients are receiving the emails. If I reply to an email in Outlook some of the received emails show an icon that I have replied, but not all of them. As far as I know, I have not changed any settings in Outlook 2013 or on the Google server.

They should be in Outlook

Then scroll down to the Save messages and make sure that there is a check mark for "Save copy.......sent file folder"

edit: Can't check email from my iPhone either.

A:cannot recieve email (Outlook 2013) after updates

Fixed. I went to xfinity.comcast.net to see if I could log in and check my email. It says my password was reset due to unauthorized usage. I made a new password and now my email works.

I guess my issue with emails was bad: http://www.sevenforums.com/system-se...dn-t-send.html

Checking a web based email (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail) with Outlook is as safe as doing it using the web browser (Firefox, etc)? I know that using the browser is safe since the connection is encrypted, but I'm unsure about Outlook. Thanks for your feedback.

A:Outlook 2013 email security question

I think it is safe if you PC has a relaible malware security protection and there is software which can provide full protection for the network e.g. Kaspersky.

My employee recently installed outlook 2016 on a computer with Office 2010. When I send her an email with an excel file attached (.xls), it will only open in Adobe. When she attempts to save the file it only allows her to save as Adobe (PDF) or as "all files". If she selects all files, it sends her to the internet to find the application that will allow her to open it. Anyone else having that issue?

I have another employee (also has Outlook 2016 with Office 2010) that was sent an a fillable PDF document that she is unable to open even when she right clicks on the attachment.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
