Lenovo Ideapad 110-Set an Admin PW in BIOS, Now I can't access BIOS after entering the correct PW?

Q: Lenovo Ideapad 110-Set an Admin PW in BIOS, Now I can't access BIOS after entering the correct PW?

HI, Please skip to paragraph six for the actual issue I am having--the preceding paragraphs include info that may help to identify how to fix this. I am posting this using my HP desktop running Windows 7 as my Lenovo Ideapad 110 cannot connect to internet as explained below: Firstly, Sorry if I am breaking community guidelines in any way with this post. I did multiple searches but only came up with "forgot my BIOS password-how can I reset it" type posts. I am looking for urgent help to get back into the "BIOS" of my Lenovo IdeaPad 110 running preinstalled Windows 10. Everything was running fine until yesterday. This is when I made the mistake of thinking I knew more about the system than I actually seem to lol :/ So, yesterday--I entered the "BIOS" screen upon startup using F2 (function key+F2). I went on to disable wireless connection ability (to test something unrelated), and also switched Boot from strait UEFI boot mode to legacy/UEFI boot-with UEFI being the default boot option. I don't know if any of the above have to do with the issue I am now having but I wanted to share it just in case. Here is the real issue as of now: Also yesterday at the same time while in "BIOS", I also went on to set an "admin password", the one you must type in before you can even get to the lenovo splash screen to enter "BIOS". Basically I believe this is referred to as a POST password although I am not an expert cleary (hence asking for the experts' help!). I know the password and have not forgotten it, however when I input the password and hit enter to boot past POST---this is where the problem arises. I can no longer access the "BIOS" menu with F2 on the subsequent Lenovo splash screen, after entering correct admin password and the system starts to boot. If I hold it long enough I get a message saying "To skip disk check press any key within 10 seconds" (that is a paraphrase, might be 8 seconds, I can confirm though, if need be). Even with contiuning to hold (and have tried repeated pressing) of F2, it still takes me strait to Windows 10 user login screen. How can I get back into the "BIOS" without prying apart the system? It does not make sense to me that I have set an admin POST password that is correctly entered but after, I cannot access the BIOS to change any settings (as in, wirelesss conection ability, etc.). Any help, suggestions, guidance, or even guess are most appreciated. This is a slightly urgent issue as I need to access things that require wireless connection on the laptop for my work and I really don't want to have to take this to a repair shop or try taking apart anything and ruining it further. It seems I have made a mistake somewhere, or perhaps I need to use a different key to enter the BIOS now? In the meantime before I (hopefully) get some responses, I will attempt using F12, delete, shift, etc. to enter BIOS after entering Admin Password. I will update this thread immediately if I am able to get in to the BIOS again. Thank you in advance for any help that is provided to me for this issue! -L

Preferred Solution: Lenovo Ideapad 110-Set an Admin PW in BIOS, Now I can't access BIOS after entering the correct PW?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello everyone ... I can not enter the BIOS menu or BOOT selection during system startup. (In case: Windows). I press the sequence Fn + F2, Fn + F1, Fn + F12, Delete, Esc and nothing happens. Any suggestions for this problem? Some configuration is made so that the key combination option is available the next time for entry on Boot Selection or BIOS access? Thank's.

Hello my friends ! A time ago i bouhgt two Lenovo ideapad 100 14 IBY (FreeDos Version) and install Windows 10 on it with UEFI and GPT Partition Table. All works fine until i want to play around with Linux and install UBUNTU Mate in UEFI on one of them. The install was easy but the Performance on Ubuntu with Bay Trail and the don't working Bluetooth was a reason to switch back to Windows 10. After that the Problem beginns. The Bios don't let me save changes anymore (only time and date !). There was no UEFI ESP and GPT Support since i install UBUNTU and the Bios Menu looks like that:Bios Entries on a blank DiskBootingThe Disk is Blank there is no ubuntu on there (Don't know waht the EFI Entries are no Hardware is connected). And when I boot also go to Network Boot there.(No Matter a USB Stick is connected). So what i did: # I Dismantle it and disconnect Battery and Cell and wait half an hour. # Nothing changes !# I change the HDD. # Nothing changes !# Reflash the BIOS by edit the plattform.ini - CheckByBios=1 - Error Cannot mount EFI Partition. # Nothing changes !# Install Windows 10 - Make mbr2gpt.exe and bcdedit and bootrec. # Nothing changes ! I can install and run Windows 10 in MBR and BIOS Mode on it. But no USB Stick was displayed in Boot Menu. So now Iam on my Limit and the Question is there a way to put UEFI and GPT back on it or does the BIOS locked in this State. For me UEFI is MALEWARE so why can a simple UBUNTU damaged my BIOS and ... A:Enter Bios Lenovo Ideapad YOGA 11

Hi coucoune1633 ,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

To enter the BIOS , turn off the pc and use the Novo key (item1 page12) to power on .
Novo menu would appear offering BIOS set up (for changing boot options etc. )
System recovery option from one key recovery initial back up would delete everything and restore to factory defaults.

About booting to safe mode:
Since starting with Windows 8 and up , usual F8 on boot is deeply embedded on the recovery making it hard to access.

If Windows cannot boot to a viable stage for to access advance recovery menu :

1. Shift + F8 works on some system , do it at same time you see the lenovo splash screen repeatedly.

2. Forcing recovery mode on windows 8 : turn on then suddenly turn off pressing the power button , then on and off again for 2-3 attempts , Turn on and see if recovery screen would show up for the advance option.

3. Some system have F11 / F12 on BIOS to launch the recovery / boot option

4. Using a bootable media ( USB rescue image often useful for repair / back up  , using Windows media creation tool  )
If Windows 8/10 does not start: (using the command line)
How to boot into Safe Mode from the Windows 8/10 installation media or recovery USB flash drive.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

There is no master password, back door or CMOS clearing procedure that will remove your forgotten password.  This is due to the ease in which laptops are stolen.   To resolve the issue you have basically two options.  The first is for the Uncle to try and remember the password he used.  Please keep in mind that passwords are case sensitive and he may have use upper and lower case characters.  The second option is to replace the motherboard.

Dear Members,I am in trouble with my  Idea Pad Z570: I bought it couple of years ago running Windows 7. During the years of usage I had no trouble at all. With Windows 10 beeing released, I upgraded and it starts to make a lot of troubles: Bluescreen directly after boot or sign in, no WiFi, ... all the known stuff. So I decided last week to downgrade to Windows 7. But now, I am even in a bigger trouble:I tried to boot the Windows 7 from DVD and it crashed into Bluescreen saying: Windows Error 0xc0000225Restarting is not helping. So, i tried to go into BIOS to boot from another device, but I do not even get to BIOS or UEFI. So, thats a kind of Deadlock: I cannot boot from Harddisk because Windows Error 0xc0000225 appears and I cannot get into BIOS & UEFI because the Windows error 0xc0000225 comes before getting to BIOS. Hope this description of my current situation is understandable and you guys have a lot of ideas how to fix it. Thanks!TheGooner

I set the BIOS password. But I forgot the password after a while. I searched the Internet a little and tried a couple of methods. It's like removing a bios battery. I removed the bios battery and the password was not reset. But the computer clock was wrong. So the bios battery only reseting the clock. I corrected the clock, but I still can not reset the bios password. Are the bios passwords held in EEPROM? If so, where is the EEPROM chip?Thank you for your help. ////// BIOS'a ?ifre koydum. How do you display bios to an external monitor for a Lenovo Ideapad u530 running Windows 10? I can get Windows 10 login page to show on the external monitor but not the bios details. Reason: I have an almost non-functional laptop screen so I'm using the external monitor. What I see in the bios screen (on the almost non-functional laptop screen) is Insydeh20 setup utility. Is there an option in this utility to force the bios to the external monitor?
