Lenovo Ideapad 110-Set an Admin PW in BIOS, Now I can't access BIOS after entering the correct PW?

Q: Lenovo Ideapad 110-Set an Admin PW in BIOS, Now I can't access BIOS after entering the correct PW?

HI, Please skip to paragraph six for the actual issue I am having--the preceding paragraphs include info that may help to identify how to fix this. I am posting this using my HP desktop running Windows 7 as my Lenovo Ideapad 110 cannot connect to internet as explained below: Firstly, Sorry if I am breaking community guidelines in any way with this post. I did multiple searches but only came up with "forgot my BIOS password-how can I reset it" type posts. I am looking for urgent help to get back into the "BIOS" of my Lenovo IdeaPad 110 running preinstalled Windows 10. Everything was running fine until yesterday. This is when I made the mistake of thinking I knew more about the system than I actually seem to lol :/ So, yesterday--I entered the "BIOS" screen upon startup using F2 (function key+F2). I went on to disable wireless connection ability (to test something unrelated), and also switched Boot from strait UEFI boot mode to legacy/UEFI boot-with UEFI being the default boot option. I don't know if any of the above have to do with the issue I am now having but I wanted to share it just in case. Here is the real issue as of now: Also yesterday at the same time while in "BIOS", I also went on to set an "admin password", the one you must type in before you can even get to the lenovo splash screen to enter "BIOS". Basically I believe this is referred to as a POST password although I am not an expert cleary (hence asking for the experts' help!). I know the password and have not forgotten it, however when I input the password and hit enter to boot past POST---this is where the problem arises. I can no longer access the "BIOS" menu with F2 on the subsequent Lenovo splash screen, after entering correct admin password and the system starts to boot. If I hold it long enough I get a message saying "To skip disk check press any key within 10 seconds" (that is a paraphrase, might be 8 seconds, I can confirm though, if need be). Even with contiuning to hold (and have tried repeated pressing) of F2, it still takes me strait to Windows 10 user login screen. How can I get back into the "BIOS" without prying apart the system? It does not make sense to me that I have set an admin POST password that is correctly entered but after, I cannot access the BIOS to change any settings (as in, wirelesss conection ability, etc.). Any help, suggestions, guidance, or even guess are most appreciated. This is a slightly urgent issue as I need to access things that require wireless connection on the laptop for my work and I really don't want to have to take this to a repair shop or try taking apart anything and ruining it further. It seems I have made a mistake somewhere, or perhaps I need to use a different key to enter the BIOS now? In the meantime before I (hopefully) get some responses, I will attempt using F12, delete, shift, etc. to enter BIOS after entering Admin Password. I will update this thread immediately if I am able to get in to the BIOS again. Thank you in advance for any help that is provided to me for this issue! -L

Preferred Solution: Lenovo Ideapad 110-Set an Admin PW in BIOS, Now I can't access BIOS after entering the correct PW?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello my friends ! A time ago i bouhgt two Lenovo ideapad 100 14 IBY (FreeDos Version) and install Windows 10 on it with UEFI and GPT Partition Table. All works fine until i want to play around with Linux and install UBUNTU Mate in UEFI on one of them. The install was easy but the Performance on Ubuntu with Bay Trail and the don't working Bluetooth was a reason to switch back to Windows 10. After that the Problem beginns. The Bios don't let me save changes anymore (only time and date !). There was no UEFI ESP and GPT Support since i install UBUNTU and the Bios Menu looks like that:Bios Entries on a blank DiskBootingThe Disk is Blank there is no ubuntu on there (Don't know waht the EFI Entries are no Hardware is connected). And when I boot also go to Network Boot there.(No Matter a USB Stick is connected). So what i did: # I Dismantle it and disconnect Battery and Cell and wait half an hour. # Nothing changes !# I change the HDD. # Nothing changes !# Reflash the BIOS by edit the plattform.ini - CheckByBios=1 - Error Cannot mount EFI Partition. # Nothing changes !# Install Windows 10 - Make mbr2gpt.exe and bcdedit and bootrec. # Nothing changes ! I can install and run Windows 10 in MBR and BIOS Mode on it. But no USB Stick was displayed in Boot Menu. So now Iam on my Limit and the Question is there a way to put UEFI and GPT back on it or does the BIOS locked in this State. For me UEFI is MALEWARE so why can a simple UBUNTU damaged my BIOS and ... Unfortunately the Lenovo Download library does not have BIOS updates available for either of the models you have listed.  What you might do is a search on the Internet to see if a website like BIOS Mods has something available.

This has been discussed before. When using an external monitor you cannot access the bios as the graphics are loading after BIOS. When booting you do not see the Lenovo logo, only the Windows starting screen, correct?

I seem to have a very weird problem with my laptop, I am normally a linux user, and have due to work been needing win10.  I decided to install win10 on a second internal ssd by unmounting the cd , and mount a caddy with space for another ssd. I removed my linux ssd, before I installed windows, so no os would be able to interrupts the installation procedure, or atleast interfere with it. After completing the installation, I have been unable to turn on my laptop, the only response i see is the power led blinking twice, and thats it.  The weird part here is,  if I leave it for a couple of days, uncharged and with the batteries out, it will either startup by itself, or start up when I press the power button.  And then go back to the previous state, when I turn it off. It should be noted that I have previously done this, without no problems.. So this is a bit weird for me.

Now my laptop is unusable due to the BIOS boot up password required......anyone has a solution for this?

A:Lenovo ideapad U41-70 BIOS LOCKED

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Sorry to hear of the problem you have encountered.  If the password had previously work then make sure you are typing it in correctly.  Passwords are case sensitive and you may have used UPPER and lower case letters in your password creation.  Double check your Caps Lock key as well to see that it is set correctly.

You can also try a static discharge just to insure the issue isn't a keyboard problem.  To do a static discharge, just do this...
1. Shut down Windows and unplug the charger / adapter. 2. Remove the battery. (If removable)3. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. 4. Re-install the battery, plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.

If that doesn't resolve the issue then there isn't much else you can do.  Since laptops are frequently stolen, there is no master password, hardware jumper or back door that can be used to clear a BIOS passworded laptop.  This is by design and the solution is to replace the motherboard of the system.

A:Enter Bios Lenovo Ideapad YOGA 11

Hi coucoune1633 ,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

To enter the BIOS , turn off the pc and use the Novo key (item1 page12) to power on .
Novo menu would appear offering BIOS set up (for changing boot options etc. )
System recovery option from one key recovery initial back up would delete everything and restore to factory defaults.

About booting to safe mode:
Since starting with Windows 8 and up , usual F8 on boot is deeply embedded on the recovery making it hard to access.

If Windows cannot boot to a viable stage for to access advance recovery menu :

1. Shift + F8 works on some system , do it at same time you see the lenovo splash screen repeatedly.

2. Forcing recovery mode on windows 8 : turn on then suddenly turn off pressing the power button , then on and off again for 2-3 attempts , Turn on and see if recovery screen would show up for the advance option.

3. Some system have F11 / F12 on BIOS to launch the recovery / boot option

4. Using a bootable media ( USB rescue image often useful for repair / back up  , using Windows media creation tool  )
If Windows 8/10 does not start: (using the command line)
How to boot into Safe Mode from the Windows 8/10 installation media or recovery USB flash drive.

I corrected the clock, but I still can not reset the bios password. Are the bios passwords held in EEPROM? If so, where is the EEPROM chip?Thank you for your help. ////// BIOS'a ?ifre koydum. Hi.I have a problem with my battery not charging (at 1% left and power connected) and get an error message that my battery is not recognized by Lenovo, even though it's the same battery I've had for 4 years (the laptop is as good as new, and I don't want to change it).Apparently, a BIOS update should work, according to several web forums, and it worked when I had the same problem some time ago. But since then I have updated to Windows 10 and I can't find any BIOS updates for my laptop which is compatible with windows 10. And those that are compatible with windows 10 are not compatible with my laptop. Will there ever be an update, or do anyone have another solution to my battery problem?INFO:Windows 10 Home 64 bitIntel Core i5-3337U 1.80 GHz8GB RAMCurrent BIOS id: 7ECN19WW
