I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 from a MS ISO onto this laptop.  Before doing the OS install, the laptop had numerous problems, but the Wi-Fi worked fine.  After the OS install, I burned all of the HP drivers/software offered for this laptop on the HP website onto disk and installed them.  Everything outside of networking seems to work.  The 100BaseT adapter is functional, but not the Wi-Fi. The drivers seem to install OK as far as the HP installation software shows.  But afterward, Device Manager, under Network Adapters, lists only the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.  Under Other Devices there is Network Controller. There is no mention of Atheros Bluetooth, Broadcom Wireless, or Ralink Wi-Fi. I've tried removing the device Network Controller and then installing the drivers; searching for updates via Device Manager (none found on the Internet); installing with and without the HP Download and Install Assistant; installing from the HDD, optical media, and across the LAN. I've tried removing the Network Controller and reinstalling with the bare Win7 installation before any changes were made other than HP drivers/software, and also at numerous stages along the way as some 90 Windows Updates were installed.  I've installed IE 11 and Google Chrome, but no other software has been installed outside of Windows Updates and HP drivers/software.  Dozens of reboots and complete power-downs have been made.

Good afternoon,

I've recently purchased a set of Bose Wireless Bluetooth Headphones, when I try to add new device the laptop finds them but won't install the drivers for some reason.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit.

When it comes up it says Bluetooth Peripheral Device but then cannot find the drivers.

Can anyone assist me with this?

A:[SOLVED] Network Controller Drivers Not Found

Go to this link and insert your operating system. Quite often the network drivers are included in the chipset drivers. Also, while you're at it if you haven't already, update your BIOS too. ALWAYS make sure you have the latest drivers because it'll save you heartache in the future!

Try the chipset driver and see if that solves your network issue.

Today, my roommate apparently used my laptop without my knowledge, trying to "make my wireless network more secure" (or so he says.) In the process,he completely destroyed said network (so much for making it more secure) and I ended up not being able to use it at all.

After a call to tech support at my ISP, I was able to get it up and running again. I can access my email, use my P2P program, and access every website I've tried, except for one specific site. When I try to access that particular one, I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error page, and when I try to investigate further by clicking the "Diagnose Connection Problems" button, what comes up is "[This website] is not set up to establish a connection on port "World Wide Web" (HTTP)" with this computer."

I have never seen this error message before, and I was able to access this particular website with absolutely no problems, right up until this afternoon when my roommate fooled with my wireless connection. And, as I said, I can access every other website I want, just not this one. Could it be simply a matter of the server being busy/unavailable, or could there still be something screwy with my wireless network?

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Using XP. Had to completely reinstall XP due to software error with USB ports. I've gotten it reloaded and everything works fine except........I keep getting a reminder/alert in the lower righthand corner saying Wireless Network Found. How can I stop this from flashing every so many seconds. It's very annoying.

Dell had to help with the reload. Somewhere along the way, there was an option to choose "dial-up networking" or "wireless". I'm currently on wireless but once I'm home I will be on dial-up again.

Any help would be appreciated.

A:Wireless Network Found

When you are not using the wireless switch it off--that will eliminate those messages, prolong the life of your wireless adapter, and ease the load on the battery.

I'm guessing that you are using XP's WZC to manage the wireless connections. I'd set it to 'connect only to preferred networks' and there may be other settings to stop those "helpful" messages. If you have the Dell WLAN utility or one named after your adapter you may want to try using it instead of (not in addition to) WZC.

I have two PCs sitting side by side. They are both served by the same Linksys wireless router. One has a Linksys internal wireless adapter that does not recognize the wireless signal that the PC next to it is now receiving. Both PCs got the signal last week and worked fine before I installed windows 7 to the one that now cannot recognize my wireless network signal. That PC shows two old wireless network names that no longer exist, but it does not show the new wireless network. I have tried to go through the Control Panel to > Network and Internet to create the new Network name or get the adapter to sense the new network. But, no luck.

What am I doing wrong? My Windows 7 install seems to have creamed my wireless network setup on the PC that will not now pick up the wireless signal.

Thanks for any advice.

Running Windows 7 Professional on a Dell with a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz processor, 1 GB memory, and 32 bit OS.

The adapter is a Linksys Wireless G 2.4 GHz PCI.

if you get an error - You need NET Framework installed for the WiFi Inspector to function.

post a screen shot of the program running - if there are a lot of networks showing can you click on "networks" top lefthand area - so we can see all the network information, and also post which network "Adapter Name" (1st column) is yours on the list

Hello,

My laptop is from Toshiba, model L650 PSK1JA OK3017. Here's Toshiba's driver page for my device:

Support :: Toshiba :: Computers, Laptops/Notebooks, Tablets, Televisions, DVD and Blu-Ray Players, Camcorders, Storage, Accessories, and more

I recently purchased a blank hard drive along with a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I've installed all drivers listed on the page for a 64 bit system but when I try to install the "Intel Wireless LAN Driver (For Intel Model Only)" driver or Proset driver, the driver extraction begins, ends, but when the setup is meant to run, nothing happens. I've redownloaded it and attempted to install it twice to no avail.

Basically, I cannot connect to the internet and Windows cannot detect my network adapter.

If anyone can help me figure out what I need to install to get my network adapters to install, that'd be great. I can't call Toshiba support because their operating hours are when I'm at school.

Occasionally, when I try running the driver I mentioned before and the extraction is complete, when I select "No" as to whether I want to run the file, Windows gives me the error: "Archive Extractor -- Error occured in system module [-135]".

I still have my old, working hard drive, which I replaced because it was slow. Is it possible to grab the network drivers from that and transfer it to my new hard drive? I can use this hard drive to help you guys help me.

A:Wireless network not found by laptop

make and model of the laptop ?
it may have a physical switch or use FN + F? key to switch the wireless on/off

will it work if connected to the router by cable

a good program if you can download and copy across to the machine is
http://www.xirrus.com/library/wifitools.php

it would be useful if we could see an ipconfig /all - again you will need to copy the results into notepad and onto a working machine

make sure a firewall is not blocking - turn the firewalls off
if the wireless is secruity enabled - log onto router and disable wireless secruity - see if you can connect like that

{ipconfig /all}
We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all

-> Start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all
post back the results here
TWO Methods to do that - if you cannot access the internet with PC, then use method 2 to copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

Method ONE -------------------------------------------------------------
start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Method TWO -------------------------------------------------------------

Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

Here's my situation. I swapped in a different computer into my setup and tried to connect to the internet through a cable modem using a ethernet cable that ran from the modem to the computer. I troubleshooted this with the cable company as I could not connect to the internet. They stated that the modem WAS online but it appeared as though the ethernet connection was not working. I tried a different ethernet cable and still had the same problem. I also made sure the ethernet cable was securely clicked into the ports on the computer and the modem and still nothing worked. At the end of the day, we ended up using a USB cable that ran from the modem to the computer and then I got an internet connection and was able to surf the web on the computer.

Hi, I've searched for about an hour and a half around the forums to try and find the answer to this but I didn't. I'd rather not bring my laptop to the store for repairs since I don't know when I'll see it back !!

I have a laptop, about 2 years old. Worked almost flawlessly until recently. It's a toshiba satellite celeron 2.8 I believe with 768 megs of RAM.
I have a problem with my wireless connection. Recently, it started "not finding available networks". It's stupid because the wireless card actually works since I'm connected right now, as I am typing this. My card automatically connects to the last network it was in, so I can only connect to a random network that is around my house, but not my actual one. I cannot change my connection to my own router since it says "No wireless networks found in range". It's not cool because now, at school, I can't get on the network since it can't find it...

The Network stumbler finds 8 connections around my house, but the "wireless network connection" window doesn't.

I reinstalled my drivers, I tried playing in the services and msconfig-boot utilities to see if I had disabled something... nothing.

anybody ever saw something like that ?
thanks a lot in advance.

I have XP Pro on an IBM T42 laptop. Had significant trouble with trojans/malware recently, but believe I have cleaned and recovered.

Currently my wireless network at home is functioning OK. But when I go to "View Wireless Networks" it says that there are "No wireless networks in range." Also when I go to Advanced Settings, there is no data listed under "Preferred Networks."

I have two concerns. First I am wondering if there is still some residual effect from the malware that I should be concerned about. Second, when I travel I cannot search for available wireless networks because the utility always reports that none are available, even though some networks certainly are.

Thanks very much for any advice and help.

We were given a second hand windows XP laptop and tried to connect to out NETGEAR router, but it could not connect just kept giving 'acquiring network address' message. The correct password was being used, as it took a while for me to remember I had to put it in upper case, lol, so I know it was definitely now trying to talk to the router. We could connect OK using a cable, it just could not do it via wireless.
I have 2 desktops and 1 laptop already successfully connected.
The solution was just to change the SSID in the router. I had left the SSID as the default 'NETGEAR' which they do recommend gets changed. I looked up the manual on the internet and found it easy to change the SSID. Once done the laptop, using windows XP, connected straight away with no further problem.
My other laptop (Windows 7) however complained. and I had to connect to the new SSID (available ) and yes remembering to use the right case for the passord. It connected to the network, but was still not connected to the internet. I closed down the laptop and on restart it gave me a window to specify what type of network it was (my Home network). After that it was happy and now I have 2 desktops and 2 laptops all happilly connected to the internet.
I hope you find this solves your problem

This could be a blip between your wireless equipment, and .NET Framework or you have a problem with the .NET Framework Client or both.

Is this the first time this has happened, can you reproduce the error?
Was the wireless up and running before you tried to connect to the Network, oh, and by the way are we talking Internet, LAN or both?

Are you up to date with your wireless equipment, and Windows Updates? Last Patch-Tuesday was February 14th, 2012.

Have you recently scanned for any malware?
You should at least do either or both of the following.

Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

This is my first message on this forum - I am hoping to get any feedback on it...

OK, this is the issue: Earlier this week, I installed a wireless network card, brand Belkin, in the (old) PC of my parents. Installation went smoothly, internet through an Access Point and a wired router (both brand Belkin) works fine (I am writing this on their computer right now).

PC specs:
Intel PII, 350 MHz,
Asus P2B-VM (Intel 440BX chipset),
NVidia Riva TNT2 Model 64,
192 Mb SDRAM,
"Wired network" card (brand 3Com),
Serial port (ISA slot),
Onboard audio,
Windows ME

Every time that my folks switch the computer on, say, 2 days after having used it a previous time, the network card is not working - i.e. Windows says no drivers are installed (when checking in the Device Manager).

After re-installing the drivers (or doing a system restore, like today just a while ago), the network card is "found" and installed and working again.

So, how come Windows says no drivers are installed after, seemingly, every "cold" reboot?
Why does Windows seem to "lose" the installation of the wireless network card?

This might have been posted in the Win95/98/ME forum, but I put it here, since I rather suspect it to be a hardware thing (it is after all quite an old computer by now)... The few other threads about wireless network cards don't help me any further, and I am at a loss here. So, any comments are greatly appreciated...

Hello.

I have a Compaq Presario V2000 Laptop, with a built-in wireless network connector. Recently, I have come across the problem of not being able to connect to the internet. I've tried on multiple browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE), but all come up with some sort of "Server Not Found" message. I am connected to my usual wireless network with a good signal strength, but I am still unable to get on any web page.

I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting to the network, and restarting my computer, but to no avail. Other computers on this wireless network (like the one I'm on now) work fine.

Thank you.

A:drivers for the wireless network connection 2 adapter

first of all relax

I doubt AVG would mess up your connection. . Assuming you are using Windows 7. Try these:
- Goto control panel, then open network and connection sharing, on the left panel click on change adapter settings. Then right click on your local area connection and disable it. Then re-enable it. Do the same with the wireless connection.

- If that doesn't get you online, then right click on My Computer, click Properties, on the left panel, click on open device manager. In device manager, find "network adapters", you will probably have two listed. Right click on each one and click uninstall. Then restart your computer.

Hope that helps

Hi all! Please help! My wife's notebook, (ASUS G71GX, Win 7, wireless card Atheros AR928X), wireless connection to our home LAN (D-Link DIR-655) suddenly stopped. It shows the available networks, but cannot connect to it. The hardware manager shows no problem with the wireless card.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but could it be the drivers, not the hardware? So far, I uninstalled and re-installed the driver for the AR928X. No changes, but maybe I didn't do it right.

Could someone help out, please?

A:Wireless reads but cannot connect to network... is it drivers?

Never mind. Thanks. I ended up deleting my home network, and then re-creating it. That solved the problem, even though I still do not understand how that worked

Hi,

I got an Acer Aspire V5-572G laptop. It came with Windows 8, which I ended up hating, so I reverted to Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit by installing a fresh copy from a CD (well, from USB, but that's irrelevant).

After installing, I cannot connect to wireless nor ethernet. I cannot see any wireless networks. If I connect my ethernet cable, the laptop still thinks there's no connection.

If I open a command line and type ipconfig, I get:

Code:
> ipconfig
Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Bluetooth Network Connection:
...redacted...

Tunnel adapter isatap.<some-redacted-serial>:
...redacted...
If I go to Device Manager, I see a bunch of things under "Other devices". These are devices that seem to be missing drivers:
- 3D Video Controller
- Ethernet Controller
- Network Controller
- PCI Device
- PCI Simple Communications Controller
- SM Bus Controller
- Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller

I also see two devices under the Network adapters list:
- Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) -- this is probably what shows up on ipconfig
- Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)

So... seems like I just have to get some drivers! I went to Acer's website and searched for my laptop model. They only have Windows 8 drivers. Unfortunately the Acer driver website is not deep-linkable, but here is a mirror of the drivers it offers:

can you give us the service number to your pc? without it i'm not sure how much help we can be. this is an older model and the latest dell drivers are for xp so it's likely the reason you haven't found them is because they were never updated.

Hi there,

My Acer XC-605 desktop running windows 10 does not recognize any network. The connection should run through an ethernet cable. When i looked at the network drivers there are two with an exclamation mark on them:

Qualcomm Atheros AR5BWB222

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

It says they both won't start and they give a (code 10). Im pretty sure these guys are the problem.

Because i don't have a connection i can't update them, and uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't work either. I have a laptop with a connection, but i don't know where i can find any updated drivers to deliver to my Acer to fix the corrupt drivers.

Im pretty clueless of what i should do here, i hope someone could help me out i would be very grateful.
