RUNDLL Error & hpqthb08.exe Error at startup - No internet

Q: RUNDLL Error & hpqthb08.exe Error at startup - No internet

Hey Everyone,

Please help! I recently let my roomate use my desktop - and now my computer seems to be dying.

Upon startup I get the following 3 errors:

RUNDLL: Error loading C:\WINDOWS\ociganis.dll
RUNDLL: Error loading C:\WINDOWS\dshtpras.dll
hpqthb08.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services: Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0xfa0 (4000), Thread id=0xfa4 (4004). Click OK to terminate the application. Click CANCEL to debug the application.

ALSO - Most importantly... my internet is not working! I've gone into the settings and changed everything back to default, but still no luck.

Any help?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

welcome! I know that hp one is from hp imaging programs that install with a scanner or camera or something. Try uninstalling that and let us know what happens.

Well when starting up my computer I get an error saying RUNDLL: Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\gugakeje.dll 'The specified module could not be found.' Also, while browsing through Firefox I get these pop-ups from IE. Finally, my computer seems to be running a lot slower than usual.

I have XP home. When I start up I get an error that says, RUNDLL in the top line left. In the body of the error the description says 'Error Loading C:\Windows\image.dll, the specified module could not be found.' This error comes up twice, at startup. I can click OK on both to clear them and go on about my business. In trying to troubleshoot this issue myself, I have used 'msconfig' to do a selective startup, to a point where everything is unchecked in all windows of msconfig and these two rundll errors still come up. Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on in this case?

A:RUNDLL error at startup

It's likely a search or adware hijack. Unzip HijackThis to a permanent folder of its own. Run it and select Scan. Then save the Scanlog and copy/paste the results to a reply here.

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

By the way: re-check your normal startups in msconfig before running the scan or they won't be seen in the log.

I recently installed 64-bit Windows 7 on my desktop machine and was going about setting up all my programs and such. After successfully installing AVG Antivirus and rebooting the system, I got a RunDLL error at startup that seems to keep appearing with each startup. It says,

"There was a problem starting wincp32.rom. The specified module could not be found."

And since this happened, I've been unable to connect to my wifi (yet am connected to the same network on my laptop less than 2 feet away), and am assuming the issue is related. It tells me I have 'limited access'. Troubleshooting tells me I've likely got an out-of-date driver, but I find that hard to believe when everything was working fine just before rebooting. This happens when I log in as myself as well as my brother's account. Both accounts are administrative.

What does this mean, are the two problems related, and how can I fix it?

A:RunDLL Error at Startup

I can't find any reference to wincp32.rom - and it shouldn't be launching this way on your desktop.
As such, I suspect that it's an infection that has been incompletely removed.

I would suggest trying some of these free, online anti-malware scans in case your onboard protection is corrupted: Malware Often malware will try and mess up these scans also - so keep trying until you get one to complete.

If you find that you're infected, please post over in the Security forums: System Security - Windows 7 Forums
If not infected, post back and we'll work from there.

Hey everyone I removed a vundo about 4 months ago, and after I had removed it, a Rundll error started to appear when I logged in. Here is the exact text of the error:

RUNDLL

error loading:c:// Documents and settings/ all users/ Application data/ suhamose/ suhamose.dll

Can someone please help me?

A:Rundll error at startup

Its not unusual to receive such an error after using specialized fix tools.A "Cannot find...", "Could not run...", "Error loading... or "specific module could not be found" message is usually related to malware that was set to run at startup but has been deleted. Windows is trying to load this file but cannot locate it since the file was mostly likely removed during an anti-virus or anti-malware scan. However, an associated orphaned registry entry remains and is telling Windows to load the file when you boot up. Since the file no longer exists, Windows will display an error message. You need to remove this registry entry so Windows stops searching for the file when it loads. To resolve this, download Autoruns, search for the related entry and then delete it.Create a new folder on your hard drive called AutoRuns (C:\AutoRuns) and extract (unzip) the file there. (click here if you're not sure how to do this.)Open the folder and double-click on autoruns.exe to launch it.Please be patient as it scans and populates the entries. When done scanning, it will say Ready at the bottom.Scroll through the list and look for a startup entry related to the file(s) in the error message.Right-click on the entry and choose delete.Reboot your computer and see if the startup error returns.Credit to quietman7

ok after searching with no luck , I am asking for help . upon rebooting/startup of windows xp I receive this message .

" RUNDLL ERROR LOADING C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\BUQGXLNA.DLL THE SPECIFIED MODULE COULD NOT BE FOUND "

after I close the message everything runs normally , and I used tuneup utilities 2007 to try repair the problem with no luck .
any Ideas ???

A:Rundll Error Upon Startup

I could not find any information on this BUQGXLNA.DLL file, which make me suspect that it is malware related. It is likely that your antivirus or antispyware identified this file and deleted it, but there is still a startup reference somewhere. See if you can located the startup reference using AutoRuns and delete it. This should stop the error message from popping up again.

Greetings,

My computer had a virus in it a while ago and I managed to remove it by deleting a fake win32dll.exe which seemed to be running a .txt document in AppData\local\Temp. Anyway all seemed fine until I tried to access my control panel when I received an error saying explorer.exe not found. I could not access any keyboard, mouse or sound settings. Again I fixed this by running a 'sfc scannow' in cmd.

So to my current problem, sometimes when I start the computer the fan won't turn off and it beeps 6/7 times. Sometimes it starts fine but my graphics drivers don't load properly and i have a small display and my 2nd monitor isn't recognised. I think it has something to do with an error message that pops up everytime on start-up being:

There was a problem starting C:\Users\*me*\AppData\Local\Temp\1726681.txt The specified module could not be found

To clarify; My control panel now works and I am virus free but it seems to have left some damage (seems to be with either the .dll files or in the registry). I believe the error message above is affecting my startup and causing the graphics driver problems which resolves itself eventually.

Confusing I know.

Any and all help appreciated.

Hi,

I run Windows XP SP2, and over the past couple of weeks have been getting a RUNDLL error on startup, saying "Error loading C:\WINDOWS\inijiraz.dll. The specified module could not be found."

Googling returns no results for "inijiraz.dll", so I'm stumped.

I use AVG Free 9, Windows Defender, and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

I've had several instances of XP Security 2010 and its ilk recently, but have got rid of them all. This popped up after one of them, and seems to be sticking around. I can click "OK" and have no other trouble, computer runs fast and normally, but searching seems to indicate the error's a problem, so thought I'd check in with some experts.

Hi,

When I start up my notebook everything is fine but after I logged in I suddenly got this error

RunDLL ; Could not find winxey32.rom

Something like that..

What is winxey32.rom

And how to fix this problem ? It is really annoying..

I don't have a vista disc to do a repair because I got it pre installed..

Help !

Thanks

A:RunDLL Error at startup !?

There is no such file in Vista as winxey32.rom. This is probably caused by a virus or other malware.

Some free online virus scanners:
Trend Micro HouseCall - Free Online Virus and Spyware Scan - Trend Micro USA
PC Pitstop AntiVirus Center
ActiveScan 2.0 - A second opinion on the security of your PC

Also try these free programs to rid your system of spyware, trojans, and other malware:

Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.2 - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com
Spybot - Search & Destroy

Ad-Aware 2008 - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com
LavaSoft Ad-aware

I use BOTH of the above programs on my 3 Windows systems; what one program misses, the other catches. Also make sure to download the most up-to-date data before you run the programs.

Another very good freeware program for ridding yourself of spyware is this:
SUPERAntiSpyware.com - AntiAdware, AntiSpyware, AntiMalware!
SuperAntiSpyware

Hi there,

I've been having problems with spy/malware for the last few weeks and I'm wondering if somebody could advise me how to get rid of the malware completely. Currently, everytime I start my computer an error message pops up reading:

RUNDLL
Error loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\nexgophc.dll. The specified module could not be found.

I've also received a similar message sporadically, but the missing file in that case is drvcak.dll.

I am running on Windows XP S2 and I've done full system scans with AVG, Ad-aware, and Spybot S&D. They have discovered and removed other threats, but this problem is still persisting. I have only been experiencing this problem for the past two weeks or so which leads me to believe that it is some sort of infection. I've also run a system scan with HijackThis and posted the log below.

I'm wondering also if these problems could affect other programs. I work as a graphic designer for a flag company that recently upgraded to Adobe CS3. For as long as I've been experiencing these malware problems I've also had problems with Illustrator CS3 -- the program consistently crashes when I attempt to open or save files. This is a fully legal, registered copy of Illustrator. I've read that this is a common problem with the CS3 edition, but none of the common solutions have solved the problem in my case. I've changed print spooler settings, un/reinstalled the software, altered my preferences, etc. etc. to ... Read more

Hello, I was hoping to get a little help if I may.

After removing a bunch of programs an error now pops up on my desktop everytime I restart my computer. I've tried several cleaners and so far nothing has worked.

Here's what the error says:

"RunDll

Error loading winrkp32.rom

The specified module could not be found."

I click ok and it goes away. I haven't noticed anything running incorrectly or slowly...just an annoying error alerting me of a problem and giving me no solution to fix it.

Does anyone have the slightest idea of how I should go about fixing this problem?

Thank you very much for reading.

A:RunDll Startup Error

Hello Carole, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You might see if running a sfc /scannow command can find and fix any bad system files causing this error.

System Files - SFC Command

If that does not help, then you can do a repair (upgrade) install.

Hope this helps,

I have recently reinstalled XP on my computers and formatted it, but now upon startup I receieve two errors that rundll.exe has occured a problem and must close and then the option to send an error report. I can not use IE, check mail, or install microsoft updates, however I can use Firefox.

I have tried uninstalling things one at a time and installing them again after restarts but nothing seems to be working. An AVG scan removed a trojan called trojan SHeur.AVVN and under startup i have something called "282" that has never existed on my old computer and I cannot find any info on it. It sometimes performs an illegal operation as well.

Not sure how much this will help but my specs are:

Radeon 9550 256MB (ver. 8.162.0.0)

I would really appreciate any insight. Thankyou in advance.

Hi:

Can you please help me with the following problem? Thanks.

I got an error saying that

Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\yc5wdtx.dll

when I login to my computer.

My computer had been fine until 3 days ago after it was infected with antivirus-xp-2008. After the infection, I downloaded and used the Ad-Aware which did not catch any virus. I then downloaded and run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware which caught and removed many viruses. I also upgraded my mcafee. I forgot what other things I did. But then, the rundll error started. I used regedit and found out there were some residue registry entries of antivirus-xp-2008 in folders such as the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\...\Run and ...\Internet Settings\User Agent\Post Platform. I deleted them using regedit. But it did not fix the rundll error problem.

I could not find the yc5wdtx.dll in the registry until I login in safe mode. I did not get the rundll error when I login in safe mode. Up until then, my account had been an administrator account. If I changed my account to limited account, I would not get the rundll error and the registry loading yc5wdtx.dll could also be found in the registry. I checked the microsoft website and found out it is by design that way. The registry loading yc5wdtx.dll is in the RunOnce folder. The registry in RunOnce folder will be deleted after it runs once. But in safe mode, the registry under RunOnce will not be run so that it will not be deleted. Also, It will n... Read more

Which would be, according to my english translation:

I hope any help is possible. Thanks a lot.

A:RunDll Startup Error

Have you recently run your anti-virus?Its not unusual to receive such an error after using specialized fix tools.A "Cannot find...", "Could not run...", "Error loading... or "specific module could not be found" message is usually related to malware that was set to run at startup but has been deleted. When done scanning, it will say Ready at the bottom.Scroll through the list and look for a startup entry related to the file(s) in the error message. winhrk32.romRight-click on the entry and choose delete.Reboot your computer and see if the startup error returns.

Everytime I login on a new laptop I get an error on the screen (see attached picture).

The laptop came with window 7 installed and window 8 recovery disk. I used the recovery disk to install windows 8 updated and then upgraded to 8.1 The error appeared after the 8.1 upgrade, I have since updated 8.1 with available MS updates. I have found no program or hardware that fails to work correctly (although I guess I have yet to try all of them), there are no yellow exclamation marks in device manager. It is not user specific as I have made a couple of local users and those users get the same error.

I have checked the event log and can only find one errors

Driver\WUDFRD failed to load USB\VID_138&PID_011\d5b5be350587

Checking on line is suggests that it is a window device driver error but as I have not found anything not working, and device manager is not indicating any problem devices I am not sure what to try next.

Any suggestions?

Mod Edit:  Moved from AII to Win 8 per OP request - Hamluis.

A:RunDll error on startup

The error dialog box suggests that there is an autostart program shortcut where the target executable is not contained within double quotation marks - e.g. "C:\Program Files\MyProg\Program.exe".  As we know Windows complains about spaces in a command, but which one?

The event log error looks as though it relates to a fingerprint reader - do you have one on your laptop?  You might need updated drivers for it or it may be connected to the error dialog.

A:RunDLL error on startup

Since it's indicating that the file can't be found, it's not being loaded and therefore not causing any issues. If I were to guess I'd say that your computer may have gotten some spyware or something like that, then your computer deleted it, but it didn't delete the registry entry. You could perhaps run a program like hijackthis (a quick google will find it) and you could remove that entry.
