Preferred Solution: ie announce a phishing site...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I have been frequenting a web design forum site via Tapatalk and just realized now that it's flagged on Virustotal by a few different engines. Can I post a link to the site if you have ever heard of it? And could we get Tapatalk to blacklist it as well.

I'm somewhat in shock. I've been using that site for a while, posting links from my site for help, and there are helpful posters and Mods as well. But now wondering if that's why my site has been getting hacked time and again the last year or so. Perhaps I shouldn't be too surprised, in this day and age you got to check out every site before you visit it.

Only because of what happened today I realized. Should've checked before. So what happened was, lately I've been noticing random people following me on tap-a-talk and was wondering about it. Checked them out now and noticed by at least three followers that they all follow that forum as well as sinister.ly or another hacking site or blog.

Might that be the reason why my site has been getting hacked for the last few months time and again? After I made a post requesting feedback on my site. Could it be that hackers know to come there to find unsuspecting prey? Or maybe even that the owners of that site set up that site for just this reason?

HelloI received an email that was asking to answer a survey. I accidentally clicked on the link and closed the window that popped up immediately. I think it's a phishing website or something. Here is what the mail looked like. The way it was typed is pretty odd (as shown in the encircled words).I just wanna know if my password got hacked or I'm infected with a virus or something else since I clicked on the link.Need help. Thanks! Anybody willing to click the link for me? haha

You can check out the link here:http://www.explabs.com/You broke one of the golden rules of computing safety. Maybe two. Don't open an email if you don't recognize the sender or if it is suspect. NEVER click on a link in an email or IM unless you have verified where it will take you. You can use the link above or copy and paste the link into Google and see what the results say. Hi,
I found a phishing web site, where do I report it?
I was in FF, and went to yahoo.com and searched for "news".
The first URL was an ad, something like:
Latest news ...... today.com
This sends you to a page saying that your computer is infected and
to call 888-535-2763

When I do the same in IE11, I do not find the phishing link.

Where can I report this?
I tried the yahoo web site, but could only see reporting phishing email.

I believe my pc has contracted a bit of malware. I've run kapersky, avg and avast!, each one picked up a couple of things here and there, but one problem still persists. Whenever I restart (and periodically thereafter) firefox directs me to update.windowssettings.org/2/update.php, which is immediately identified by avg as a web forgery.

The machine isn't particularly slow and otherwise is running normally, but this consistent phishing is annoying me and I'd like to clean it out.

The other day, I tried to log in to my bank account and was redirected to a phishing site. When I asked my wife about it, she said she thought she might have downloaded a virus. I run Avast AntiVir and Comodo Firewall. I've scanned with AntiVir, Malwarebytes, Security Essentials, CCleaner and none have been able to detect anything or resolve the problem.

If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated. I can provide whatever logs are requested. Thanks!

A:Chase.com redirects to a phishing site! Please help!

Call the bank, make sure your account is closed from internet access / protect your info with the bank over the phone or in person before doing anything with the PC!!

I've had this happen to me and didn't realize what happened till my account was drained

ok so, with that squared away... all those programs come up with 0 infections - but the website still tries to redirect?

I would go into safe mode and try to scan from there, Malwarebytes first, then the rest, FULL SCANS too, don't just do the Quick runs

Hello.Today I tried to log onto Paypal, and i was taken to fake PP site that looked exactly like the actual one. I ended up sending my personal info with credit card, etc and spent all day canceling the account at PP, my credit card, filing complaints with the Social Security Dept, Federal Trade Commission and so on....very fun day, indeed.I've certainly become more informed on phishing today, and have never had any kind of problem like this before. Here is the problem I am having.

A client has a PC with IE 6 on it. When he tries to log onto AOL, Bank of America, ING Direct, and any other number of financial sites, he gets to a page saying something to the effect of that company making changes, and they need his Credit Card #, ATM Pin, etc. Basically all that information that most places will tell you they will never ask you for online or via email.

Problem is, most of them are using https and the URLs are all correct. It is not being redirected to a different url. I have confirmed that the URL that shows in IE is correct.
Tried upgrading to IE7, still got same problem. Tried system restore back to before the problem existed, this did not fix it. Ran every major Antivirus, antispyware, antimalware, rootkit finder, BHO finder, etc that I could find, none of them found anything.

Other systems on this LAN work OK. If I browse to the same sites in Mozilla firefox on this same PC, that works OK. I tried a few other browsers, they all worked. Just IE has the problem.

I installed a peice of software called Proxomitron, its a software proxy. I set up Internet Explorer to use this Proxy software, and with that running, I can access these sites in IE.

So, my conclusion is that there is something on the system hijacking the HTTP requests from IE. Problem is, I dont know enough about how IE works to really troubleshoot that any further. Anyone have any suggestions?

A:AOL and financial sites redirect to phishing site

Bump 1

I have some new information on this as well.

I made a full backup image of the HD using Acronis so I could restore to a virtual PC to troublehshoot. Basically, I could not restore to a virtual PC, and ended up having to restore to an HP system because the OEM OS wouldnt let me restore to anything else. I used Acronis Universal restore to restore onto dis-similar hardware.

If I restore both the C: partition and the MBR, I cant boot, get bsod. If I then boot to a windows CD into recovery console and run the fixmbr command to rebuild the MBR I can get into windows, but at that point, I can not reproduce the error. I can browse right to these sites and log on with no problems. If I restore just the C: partition, I also do not get the problem.

I am unable to reproduce the problem on another PC. I do not know if that means the problem is in the MBR, or of its just a coincidence. The only difference between the original PC and my Restored Image of that PC on another system is the MBR, and I had to install NIC and Video drivers for the PC I restored to.

Not sure if this is relevant information, but this problem is not going away, so I am jumping at anything that might help.

original problem was posted here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic454346.htmlIt couldnt be solved so I was directed this way. This is the gist of the situation:I'm trying to deposit money on a pokersite and im having errors on my PC. I can access the deposit page from my wireless laptop and even my iphone (wifi mode), but i prefer to do my banking on my PC.Here's the detailed descriptionI just joined a new Online Poker site (lockpoker.eu) and installed their poker program on my computer. I signed up an account and tried out the program (using play money) and everything worked well so I decided to deposit some Real Cash into it. Thats when I ran into the problem. When i would try to click on the deposit link inside the program I would get a certificate error on the deposit page. i tried multiple times and always get the same results. I figured theres something wrong with the deposit link within the program. Luckily there was another option. I can just go directly to the LockPoker.eu website and deposit from there (cashier.lockpoker.eu). So i log into the site successfully and discover the deposit link. I click on the link and still get the certificate errors. I tried using three different browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome) and i basically got the same certificate errors. *****BREAKTHROUGH****

Late last night, i dont know why, but i checked to see if there were any updates on my Comodo Firewall. and sure enough there was. so i updated it and it updated itself super quick (like it was downloaded and ready to install a single 1KB file or something cause it was quick) and it asked me to restart. so I restarted. I felt that the update was so quick that i went back and clicked update again. and there was yet another update. this time it took a little longer. and i restarted it again.

it was late so i set a virus scan and went to bed.

when i got up this morning, i saw that i had no viruses (as expected) and went to check my posts. i decided to click on http://www.realtimegaming.com/ and i am now able to access it. I went on cashier.lockpoker.eu and clicked on the deposit link and im able to access it now. i went to my poker program logged on and clicked on the deposit link and im able to access it now.

my firewall was COMODO Internet Security (Version: 5.5.64714.1383) and now its COMODO Internet Security (Version: 5.10.228257.2253)

Does this mean i was being phished by my firewall all this time? should i be worried? ive been online banking for quite sometime?

Hey everyone, I'm hoping I can get some help because I cannot get this resolved after trying many things.Sorry if the title is not accurate, I named it Facebook Phishing because I did a google search and someone with the same problem named it that.

Just yesterday I noticed that when I wake my computer up from sleep mode, or just restart or boot up my computer, my google chrome opens 10-20 tabs attempting to reach Facebook links. Here are a couple examples:  htt  ps://fbcdn-photos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/test-favela.html?529354585 ht tps://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/test-favela.html?509812954 I have run malware bytes and norton anti virus to no avail, I have cleared cookies, changed Facebook passwords, rolled back my computer a day, and went to msconfig and disabled a facebook updater on start up.  I really have no idea what to do, and google searches bring back nothing. I saw one other post on the mozilla firefox forums with the problem I have, but the answer was just go to a spyforum for help.  Please help. Thank you.

AVG Resident Shield has popped up several times on my home PC to announce it had detected a "Multiple Threat" with the name Trojan Horse Downloader.Agent2.BIL. The file named was C:\\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe and multiple instances were logged for various applications.

I note that Yeti49 had the same problem and extremeboy provided a repair strategy.

I have followed the same instructions and have run combofix. Since, there does not appear to be any further AVG alerts. Please find attached the log report of which, I would be very grateful if someone could inspect and advise if further issues are evident.

Many thanks

A:AVG Resident Shield popped up on my PC to announce it had detected a "Multiple Threat

Hello and Welcome.

A Reminder....

As seen in Post #2 of our sticky topic 'NEW INSTRUCTIONS Read this Before Posting For Malware Removal Help'

Quote:

Why we don't ask you to run ComboFix from the onset

As stated by the author of ComboFix:

ComboFix is a very powerful tool which when improperly used may render your machine to a doorstop.

We first need to verify if there's any rootkits present and how they could affect our tools. DDS & GMER are preliminary scans. We use their logs to map our strategy for attack.

With these logs we can determine the infections present & decide whether to deploy ComboFix

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/f50/...lp-305963.html

After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Today, June 16, 2016, Jide Technology, the creators of the well-known Android-x86-based Remix OS, have announced an official partnership with Android-x86's founder as well as the availability of multiple new Android PCs powered by Remix OS.

Jide Technology has grown a lot in the last couple of years, and today they are proud to announce that the company is already capable of making partnerships with various hardware manufacturers to ship Android PCs and 2-in-1 tablets with Remix OS pre-installed. I have setup a Site-to-Site VPN using Sophos UTM at each end. I set up an Ubuntu VM as a WINS Server using Samba.

So far so good. VPN Works.

My problem is with the WINS Server. I have taken two Windows 10 computers and for both of them added the IP of the WINS server under Advanced TCP/IP Settings and changed NetBIOS to Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.

The results are close but not quite right. The two computers with the modified settings can now ping each other using computer name rather than IP. Other computers on each end of the VPN can not do that.

That said neither computer shows up in the Networks of the other. This is what I am trying to fix.

It appears that name resolution is working for the computers that check in with the WINS server but that the Windows 10 browsing service is not adding those computers to the network.

The LANs are 192.168.2.0/24 and 10.1.1.0/24 the WINS server is on 192.168.2.0/24 and it comes back as __MSBROWSE__ for that network. For 10.1.1.0/24 the computer that connects to the WINS server is showing __MSBROWSE__ when I check with nbtstat.

When I check services Computer Browser is running.

Can someone help me or at least point me in the right direction? This really shouldn't be this hard so I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

Dear Friend,
I am Anil from India. I have recently joined the forum after struggling for a week to stablise my unstable PC. I used to have some Anti Virus software on my pc before few years. But since last few years I was not having any AV software as this PC was not being used for surfing etc.
Since I started to use it again for surfing, downloading etc., I wanted to instal avast AV software. I installed it from some recent installer file with me. But when it tried to update the virus database, I got the message that "can't connect to server". Then I tried to open avast.com. But I again got the error message "The page cannot be displayed". Then I uninstalled the avast and tried to open other antivirus sites like norton, mcafee, avg etc., but all failed.
Then I tried to update my system using automatoc update utility. But again failed. microsoft.com also failed to open.
I use GPRS connection through cellular connection to browse the network.
Now I have downloaded and installed Hijack This.

Hi Guys,

I've done a fair amount of googling before referring myself to W10 Forums.. I hope this helps someone else in the process. Since rolling out Windows 10 we've noticed users are having difficulty accessing their personal user data drives, via File Explorer. Let me make a scenario which is understandable.

In Site 1 (HQ), we can connect to the file server (e.g access 1FS without any issues- Where user data is stored)
In the remote site (Site 2), we can do the same (e.g 2FS)

At our HQ, when running Windows 7, we are able to File Explore to 2FS but since the upgrade we're unable to. This occurs both ways.

We can ping our servers, and remote desktop.

Server infrastructure:
VMWare ESX 5
File servers in question are Windows Server 2008
ONLY Windows server 2008 R2 servers have the issue, (2008 Standard edition is fine) all patches have been applied via WSUS.

Can anybody shed any light on this?

Thanks in advance,

IT Apprentice

I may not have this under the correct section and please keep in mind that I am not a programmer but here goes.

I am trying to add a hyperlink in Outlook 2007 signature file that will open a child site, but the child site seems to need some personalized information in the cache that comes from opening a parent site first:

Parent site: http://www.mywildtree.com/chad/
Child Site: http://www.mywildtree.com/shop/catalog.aspx

When the child site is opened directly (without opening parent first) it loads forever. The parent site does not require any authenication it just has to be opened first and then the child site operates correctly.

Is there a simple way to have one hyperlink either a) open two sites one after the other in the same window? or b) open the childsite with a parent site dependancy (tag?, bookmark?) on the hyperlink?

I have been on google searching all afternoon and haven't had any luck yet so any help is appreciated.

Thank you

A:Hyperlink syntax to open a parent site and then child site

Welcome to Seven Forums chadseeg. The Shop Now link shows as actually being http://www.mywildtree.com/shop/preshop.aspx, and this appears to redirect to http://www.mywildtree.com/shop/catalog.aspx.

Firefox blames the redirection

It looks like the script on the page is written to specifically prevent going directly to the shopping catalog without going through the home page. I'm not a webmaster, so I am unsure if this is intentional or not. A Guy

Hello all,

Good to join this forum

Anyway, Please can someone support me regarding connecting a Windows Server 2008 standard that needs to connect to another Windows server in another country outside of UK (Site B). The ports 1433 and 3030 are also open in the firewall and also the Draytek 2830n router, therefore I can see the ports open via yougetsignal.com. We have 1 public (Static) IP address from BT that is already in the Draytek router on Site A (UK).

How is the simplest or easiest way to connect these 2 Window servers so a management program that uses MySQL Database server can talk to the Site B server or vice-versa) Both sites have a Public IP address.

Can this be done by the WIndows firewall inbound rules / outbound rules where the port 1433 is set. There is an option to enter a Remote IP address under 'scope' which I assume is the Site B's public IP address within the inbound firewall properties.

The other way is the VPN on the Draytek 2830n. There is an option for Lan to Lan using IPSec but not sure the best settings for Dial-out or Dial-in. There is usernames and passwords that not sure of including the Remote gateway or Remote IP to use

We have 2 different routers on Site A and Site B are not the same.

Thanks Guys

Hi, I'm a complete network newb, but am helping out a Montessori school with their issues. Hopefully someone can help.
Site A has the main WAN link coming in to a Cisco 1841 router, then going to a Sonicwall appliance, then to a 24 port unmanaged switch.
There is also a point to point link to site B. This has another Cisco 1841 router on each end of the link. At site A, it's also plugged into the 24 port switch, and plugged into another 24 port switch at site B. There is a DC with DNS and DHCP at site A, and a DHCP server at Site B. Site A's IP achema is 192.168.1.x, and site B is 192.168.2.x, with subnet masks of 255.255.255.0. The circuit sides of the point to point connection is 10.0.0.1 & 2.
The problem they've been having for the last month or so is that the connection at site B would drop all together, or be very slow and sporadic. Yesterday, I tried downloading a 4mb file from the internet, and couldn't get the whole thing, even after trying for an hour, it kept timing out.
Downloading the same file from site A, I was done in 20 seconds.

Here's the wierd part. If I do a tracert from site A to site B's server, it sometimes works, meaning it'll trace in a couple hops to the server. When it doesn't, it tries to route out over the internet, with the first hop being a 162.42 address, which is the service provider.

Century Link says the point-to-point T1 circuit is fine, but am reaching out to see if anyone can give me a hand... Read more

I might have 50 web site tabs and am looking at one of them. All of a sudden, another web site starts with a voice and I can't determine which tab it's on. Trying to listen to two sites (or more) is ridiculous. How can I find the offending web site?

Also, some web sites will present and audio "story" which cannot be paused or stopped (unless you close the page). Is there a way to fix this?

Thank you.......

A:How find web site that is making voice sounds when site not in focus

Open Volume Mixer (right click Volume icon in notification area) and mute the whichever you want. The pages with sound will have green volume bar moving up and down.

Hi all,

This problem is with all browsers so hope it's ok to post this here? If not, please move this thread.

With FireFox & IE, I get the error message "The server at [name of site] is taking too long to respond?" This problem is at only 1 site; all other sites are great. Had no problems last week and had no problem getting into it using Opera until yesterday. I've been doing some research and lots of people have the same problem with one site only. I haven't found any solutions yet.

My internet goes through a server & router. I thought for sure it was my pc but I get the same problem on my iTouch with that one site. At home, I have no problem with my pc & iTouch. Anyone have any ideas?

I even tried Safari and no luck. This is all from work. That site opens no problem from home. Must be something in the server? Why only one site??? It's not a bad site or anything like that, it's just a private community private forum like this one here.

Thanks in advance.

I run a music website, and I am finding that people are using my bandwidth by linking the files from my site to their site (Does that make any sense?). It want to stop this, because it's wasting my money. I would like it so if they try to link a file it says "Linking file from x site" or something like that (geocities does this with images). I know its possible just not sure how.
