Dell Inspiron 7577 Gaming 1060 with Max Q technology, unable to install latest drivers

Q: Dell Inspiron 7577 Gaming 1060 with Max Q technology, unable to install latest drivers

Only got my new Dell Inspiron this week.

Looked forward to playing among other games Battlefield 1. Unfortunately it does a driver check and the latest drivers on the Dell website are too old to run the game. Tried updating via the Geforce experience and by downloading manual drivers, but even though it identifies the card and current version in the experience when it tries and installs it says no compatible hardware found.
I love the laptop otherwise, but when you spend that much you expect to play the latest games.
There looks to be some complex fixes but would rather hope there is a simpler solution.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Are we forced to only use dells nvidia drivers?  Thought these days we could use the official nvidia drivers in gaming notebook gpus. The latest 385.69 drivers cannot detect the 1060 maxq gpu. I even tried going back a few previous versions with the same result. I know I could use the nvidia drivers with ASUS and MSI notebook gpus.

The description for this computer states that the USB-C thunderbolt port is a ?on cord solution? for data transfer, video transfer, and power. Imagine my surprise when I docked it and got an error message that the port doesn?t accept power and to plug in my power adapter. I am hoping this is a temporary issue that will be fixed with a bios update and not an issue of false advertising and poor utilization of a fantastic technology. Can someone from Dell advise if this will be fixed in a future bios update or if it?s infact a hardware design flaw?

A:Power through USB-c on Dell Inspiron 15 7577 gaming laptop

Hopefully a Dell rep can confirm, but sadly, I think this is going to turn out to be incorrect marketing material and not a hardware bug that will be correctable with a BIOS update. There's no way something like that would still exist as a bug, but if the port isn't wired to allow charging the system, no BIOS update will fix that.Looking at the product page for this system (screenshot immediately below), the text block above the system images mentions "Power Delivery", which typically does mean the ability to charge the system over USB-C (since systems typically don't provide large amounts of power to attached devices via USB Power Delivery), but the description of the USB-C port below the system image doesn't mention accepting power.  Compare that to the image of the XPS 15 (farther below), where Power In is explicitly stated.  This is also found on other systems that can charge over USB-C.

I own a Dell laptop, named Inspiron 15 7000 gaming (Inspiron 7577). Specs are: Win10 64bit, i7 7700HQ, 16gb Ram, GTX 1060 6GB with "Max-Q Design" The laptop had already installed nvidia driver Version 382.78. from dell. I crosschecked this with the official dell support side and it showed me no newer Version. I also used geforce expierence and it showed me a newer driver version - 385.69. Next i clicked on download and wanted to update but then following message popped up:
"This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware"I also tried it with a direct download from the nv website under notebooks driver section for the 1060 Series and got the same error message. Just bought a new 7577 (i7/GTX1050 Ti). It has had audio issues from the start. First problem was that if I had a youtube video running in Chrome and minimized the window the video crashed. I suspected that this was the audio driver because I could hear clicking when this happened.
I changed the audio drivers to default windows HD audio and that fixed the problem, however now there was a new problem - every time there was any sound, there would be clicking right before it, and a "white noise" sound for a few seconds after it. Otherwise the sound was ok. To fix this I downloaded the latest Realtek audio driver from dell.com (v and installed it. This made the clicks/white noise go away (good) but the audio itself sounds like a tin can, no base at all, even if I turn my subwoofer all the way up.   Any ideas how to fix this?

I am constantly having this problem with my laptop. As I plug in and unplug my headphones throughout the day, I've noticed that after a couple times the bass gets really quiet and almost completely drops out. Since I have some pretty decent audiophile headphones with really great bass, it is super annoying and noticeable.
One workaround I have discovered is to go to the audio settings (either in Windows or the Dell Audio app), and switch the Default Format (the thing with 24-bit, 48000Hz in it)  to something else, play some audio, then switch it back.
A little word on my setup: I have the latest drivers from the Dell download page installed. I am running Windows 10 64-bit with all the updates. I have Waves Maxx audio "enhancements" disabled. My Default Format is usually set to 24-bit 48000Hz, but the problem eventually happens no matter what I set it to. The "headphone size" option is set to "Medium", but as far as I can tell this option does nothing if I do not have Waves Maxx enabled. Switching it also does not fix the problem.
If I play audio using WASAPI (this basically means that the music player takes over the sound card completely, and bypasses whatever audio processing Windows and the driver has) the problem does not happen.
How do I fix this problem? It's incredibly annoying, and most likely has something to do with the audio driver, since this does not happen in Linux, and it did not happen when I was runn... Read more

I'm pretty confused, there is "Dell Power Manager Service" for  Inspiron 7577: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=DY59W

Is here real hardware difference what limits the using of "Dell Power Manager Service" for Inspiron 7567 or it's *** Apple-style marketing move?

A:2017 Inspiron 15 Gaming 7577, no Windows 8.1 support?

Starting with the seventh generation Intel Core platform (and AMD Ryzen/R9, R12 APU) only Windows 10 is supported.  It's Microsoft -- not Dell -- that is locking out older Windows on newer CPUs.
Dell is following Microsoft, as all OEMs must.
if you want to run anything older than Windows 10, you must go no newer than the Skylake (6th generation) platform.

Hello, I'm basically having the exact same problem as referenced in this thread : http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/20021480
I received the laptop yesterday. It came with the 256gb Toshiba NVME SSD and an empty SATA slot. After updating windows and installing the latest drivers from the dell driver support page (included the latest bios, version 1.1.3) I turned off the machine and installed a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD in the spare SATA slot. As in the referenced post when I turned the laptop back on the hard drive was not seen by the BIOS, Intel RST, or Disk Management within Windows. The BIOS is set at it's defaults which are UEFI and RAID I believe. I went through the Dell Diagnostic and no issues were found, the laptop performs perfectly except for this issue.
I'm happy to go through troubleshooting but in the linked post user ttmcmurry has really went all out documenting the issue so I'm not sure what I can add on that would be helpful.

Am stuck with the age old driver provided on the Dell Support site. please help.

A:Latest drivers for ATI Mobility Radeon installed on Dell Inspiron 9100

Download the one at the Dell site found by using your Service Tag. It works fine. If you do not like what it is doing, tell us what it is doing incorrectly. Dell updates that site whenever there is a better driver. Windows Update then updates it accordingly. You will not beat that at the ATI site because they supply the one to Microsoft for use in Windows updates. There are some proprietary features in a lot of the graphics cards used by Dell and other manufacturers that render them not equal to the retail ATI video graphics.

My microphone volume is really low and has been for a long time, I figured I could install the latest drivers to see if it made a difference since I am just using whatever Windows 8 decided to install automatically. Sound is fine other than the microphone volume.

However when I downloaded the Realtek drivers via Gigabyte or the Realtek site itself, it extracts the installer and all just says "Setup.exe has stopped working".

I've tried just seeing if it'll start with compatibility mode but it's still the same, I do not already have any Realtek software installed other than the Ethernet drivers. I'm running Windows 8.1 x64, I've certainly downloaded the 64-bit drivers.

Edit: The microphone uses the audio jacks, not USB.

Would appreciate any advice.

I just ordered a Dell Inspirion 15 7577 on the black friday sale (11/24/17) and, before anything, I'd like to say that Dell did a fantastic job on this model. Great thermal management, stunning graphics and highly solid and durable chassis. I am in love with this laptop.
But unfortunately, my screen did come with some backlight bleeding from the start and some clouding. It is not noticeable when gaming, except when I go into a dark area. But it is there and I cannot seem to ignore it.
I have ran the color tests (power button + D) and they are not noticeable then, but are very noticeable on a black screen.
What are my options and next steps?
Many thanks.

P.S. I am attaching a photo of my screen. The bleed is in the upper-mid section of the screen. And the clouding is most apparent on the upper-left and upper-right corners.

You're probably best off asking for a replacement system.  The other option is to have the screen replaced.

So those of you who picked up a 7577 recently may have noticed that although its an awesome laptop,
holy moly, the audio drivers are a mess
So, here's how to make them a bit less of a mess

So if you do not use an external mic with your laptop, and get the audio freezing issue, I've found that uninstalling the realtek audio drivers that come with the laptop and installing the ones directly from realteks website solve this issue.
While this solves the problem, it makes it impossible to change how windows treats the mic/headphone combo jack, disabling the ability to use an external mic.
If you do use an external mic, then try installing Peter's Equalizer APO and then installing the Peace Extention for it. This takes control of the audio and removes both the freezing issue, and the odd impermissible echo that doesn't go away even when you disable all the "features" in Waves MaxxAudio Pro.
(Please dell make a way to completely disable all the effects from MaxxAudio Pro or remove it altogether and just use realteks drivers)

If anyone is reading this debating to buy the laptop or not, its still an awesome laptop, its just newer and still needs some software tweaks from Dell. Dont let this discourage you :)

Hello, I took delivery of my new ThinkPad X270 three days ago. It is a 20HN model, and it has the 512 GB Intel SSD, with Windows 10 Pro. One of the problems I am having with the machine is that it randomly freezes for a few seconds intermittently. I read on the Microsoft forum that one solution to this was to check of Intel Rapid Space Technology was installed. In my device manager, I noticed that Rapid Storage Technology was missing. Instead, only the Microsoft Storae Spaces Controller and Standard NVM Express Controller are visible. Then there are no IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers in the device manager, either. I downloaded the driver for Intel RST from the Lenovo web site and installed it, but when I rebooted my systel the storage controllers were still the same Microsoft ones, and the Intel RST was still not showing in the Device Manager. I also re-installed the chipset software, but the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers didn't show up either. This was all on a clean install of Windows 10. I already tried using the native troubleshooter app on Windows 10 as well as running an SFC scan, neither of these fixed the problem. Coud someone advise what I should do to install Intel RST?

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 531 at a garage sale. It came with a version of Vista that was cluttered up, full of viruses and in general full of problems. I don't like Vista anyway (I generally run Kubuntu or Mint for most of my computing), and I have a generic MS Windows XP sp2 install pack laying around. After installing XP, I loaded my linux OS's as usual, with no problems. The problem is with the XP install. It appears that Dell, in it's wisdom, made the Inspiron 531 specifically for Vista and the standard drivers available on Dell's site don't function well with XP (can't connect with the Web, graphics "roll-over" with the bottom showing at the top of the screen, and generally don't work well with the onboard graphics card 'Nvidia GeForce 6150'). Does anyone know a scource for drivers that will 'work-around' this issue? I know that the order the drivers are installed is important, so I wiped the drive and made a fresh install of Windows with no changes. The system setup is: Dell Inspiron 531 with AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ running at 2.0 Ghz with 4Gbs memory. I am set up for triple boot on two HDDs running Kubuntu 12.10 and Linux Mint Maya on one 260gb Hd and Windows XP Home edition Sp2 on a 40Gb Hd. I've searched this site and seen mention of a couple of users with XP running on this model, but no mention of the preferred drivers. Dell has been no help, as this is a discontinued model. OK, so im working on this computer (DELL Inspiron 531 w/ m2n61-ax MB) that someone tried to restore and the DVDRW died in the middle of the restore. Replaced the DVDRW, slap the vista disc in... BAM no HDD. Now i know this HDD is fine because I stuck it my machine and blew it out, created new partition, formatted NTFS, set ACTIVE. When I boot and go into the BIOS there is no AHCI MODE vs RAID for the SATA settings, Just DISABLE, SATA 1, SATA 1+2. It sees the HDD and the DVDRW np. Boot off the Vista disc, tell it to load drivers, point it to the external drive with the drivers I got from the DELL website using the service code on the back, I even tried downloading the nforce 4 drivers, and STILL doesnt show the HDD in the list to install too. I dug EVERYWHERE on google, for MB drivers, NVIDIA, DELL, tried every sata port to even see if it made a difference. I still cant get this thing to detect the HDD, as if its the wrong driver. BIOS sees it, even enabled the RAID to see if the RAID mode picked it up and it does, so i turned that back off because its not in a raid. Anyone got a CLUE?? help me out i been at it for 2 days on this thing lol.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5759, Windows 7 Professional.

Since the last MS Update, I am not able to install any Dell drivers.

My Bluetooth adapter disappeared from my Device Manager, it was there before last MS update.

I tried to install the Bluetooth driver again, but received the error message: The update installer operation is unsuccessful.

I have also tried to start the Bluetooth Support Service in SERVICES and received the error message: Windows could not start the Bluetooth Support Service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

I called Dell Support, which, of course, got someone in Asia. He asked me to install several BIOS updates as well as Chipset driver. My laptop is only three months old and everything should be up-to-date before it was shipped to me I do not want to do all those updates afraid that it'll ruin my laptop further.

Does anyone know why I couldn't install the Dell drivers?

Any comments/suggestions are much appreciated.

Thank you.

After upgrading to Windows 10 I have been having weeks of problems with the AMD 8870M graphics card on my son's Inspiron 5737 with the computer freezing up.  In the end it was necessary to deactivate the graphics card and deinstall the driver to prevent the computer freezing up.

I have checked for all driver updates and have successfully installed autodetected driver updates (as of the 28th October so after a recent driver update of all on the 27th October) including,
- The Intel chipset drivers
- The Intel HD graphics driver
Moving on to the AMD driver I downloaded this from the Dell driver site and (after deactivating automatic Windows 10 driver updates) ran the driver installation software.  This starts ok, but then freezes part way through the installation ... the screen freezes and shortly afterwards the cooling fan goes into overdrive.   After 10-20 minutes I do a hard shutdown and restart the computer.
This process has been repeated several times with both the drivers from the Dell site and from the AMD download center.  No success, same result.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hey guys,
I just bought a Dell Inspiron 3537 with 500 gb hard drive capacity, 4 GB RAM, no graphics card and came with UBUNTU as its OS. So I made a clean install of Windows 8.1 pro myself. All the drivers that have been provided by the site installed perfectly, except for the 1705 wireless and bluetooth driver :/ Please help !!It says that the driver isnt for my platform .. wth :@I even tried checking my drivers via Intel and it says that it doesnt recognize my wireless card.

A:Dell Inspiron 3537 , can't install 1705 wireless and bluetooth drivers on Windows 8.1 pro

Dell Wireless 1705 is not an Atheros Card therefore the Intel download centre will say its an unrecognised device. Follow the instructions here and provide the hardware IDs for your wireless card as sometimes the Dell Service Tag gives the wrong drivers:
Does it match:
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036 PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020C1028&REV_01 PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020C1028 PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_028000 PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_0280
If so try this driver
8.1×86, 8.1×64: http://ftp.dell.com/FOLDER01839309M/2/Network_Qualcomm_W8.14_X03_A01_WiFi_BT_Setup-858XX_ZPE.exe

This is a long standing question. Which drivers should I use? I have graphical issues with the current Drivers from Dell.
Any ideas what are the advantages of Dell's drivers over the ones from Intel/NVIDIA web site and do the even work? What will I lose if I use the latter?

A:Inspiron 7567 which drivers? Dell drivers or Intel/NVIDIA graphics drivers?

Dell drivers are Intel/Nvidia drivers that are customized for your exact model and should be used. They are available at Dell Support if you have to reinstall.

Upgraded to Windows 10 version 1709 Build 16299.64 successful.
Upgraded the latest audio driver to Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Driver_8WWJK_WIN_6.0.1.8142_A04.EXE.  I also verified the driver is installed successful.
After reboot, I notice that the audio icon appeared with the red X symbol next to it.  It says No Audio Output Device is installed.
I know the audio device driver works for Windows 10 version 1703 Build 15063.726.
Please let me know if anyone else has the same issue.
Please let me know how to submit a service ticket to the Dell for this issue.
Thank you

Did you install the Windows 10 chipset driver first?

Running Vostro 360 with latest BIOS and Intel HD drivers causes display problem that appear as a bad LCD panel.Latest Intel HD driver version ( creates a mostly white multicolour band. If the left edge is 0% and the right edge is 100%, the band is from 50% to 80%. The rest of the screen initially appears lighter gray but fades towards black.Using the previous Intel HD driver version (, the screen appears almost black, with some mach banding in vertical and horizontal directions.Windows 7 x64Clean installAll Dell drivers
Switched Device Installation settings to automatic and updated video driver.Driver available from Dell support site (version works, but reports anomalous WinSAT numbers. Initial system setup reported 5.1/5.9 for graphics scores, but now reports 5.1/4.6.I see no discussion of this issue anywhere so don't know if it's somehow machine specific (seems unlikely) or that people never upgrade drivers. My secondary concern is that if device installation settings is set to automatic, this driver can update and render the system inaccessible.
