I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello everybody, I've recently had to deal with a very unpleasant situation. Having not known that you should NOT delete all the partitions on the eMMC, I did just that and now am unable to install a fresh copy of Windows or restore the original one.Could anyone help me with this issue? I tried the novo button, but I can't recover anything.

Hi there, So I recently got a new Lenovo Ideapad 110S-11IBR with Win 10 pre installed, its a great laptop. The only down side is it seems Win 10 is a bit to heavy for it, as sometimes it gets slower plus to be completely honest I'd rather have Win 7. I've read some threads stating this as impossible "The installer with require some drivers that can't be installed" they said. Is there any way that I can really do this? Or anyone with the same model has done it before? Thank you in advance.

Hello I thought id try my luck on here. I was given an Lenovo Ideapad 110S with an EMMC drive with the partitions deleted. Ive been trying to install Windows 7 and or 10 with no luck. I'm constantly getting hit with a "windows cannot be installed on this disk" error when I delete or create a new partition. the "next" button is highlighted but whenever I try to click it I get hit with the following message:

"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. this computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu"

The BIOS that I have does not give me the option to change the disks controllers settings. the best I can do is change my UEFI/Legacy support settings and that doesnt seem to help with the situation. I tried looking for a recovery disk/files on the website but its still under maintainces and doesnt look like it'll be finished anytime soon since it was supposed to be live and ready from Noon today EST. Is there a fix for this? A way to updated my BIOS to get these features I need to change it? HELP> ME> PLZ>

The 32GB of eMMC (embedded MultiMedia Card) storage is soldered to the system board. There appear to also be 64GB variants of the system board, so that's the maximum. "

As per hardware manual specifications (page26):
Storage devices ? 32GB/64GB eMMC
32GB or 64GB eMMC (embedded Multi Media Card) ?ash memory on board on product specifications.
No option for other SSD upgrade as same with the RAM.

a. What are the Procedures for disabling shared printers, shared folders and files, and Wi-Fi capability?

b. I plan to use the MS Security Essentials for the new computer. Just before receiving my new Dell computer, Can I download this program on my existing Dell computer and then burn it to a CD, so as to have it ready for the new Dell computer when it arrives??

c. Network connections - As I understand it after reading one of the recently published Windows 7 handbook, during the initial boot up, I will have a chocie of "Home Network,' "Work Network," and "Public Network." The more I read, about network connections the less I understand!! Since the new computer will be the only computer to be used, do I really need a local network? I am currently using windows XP Pro and don't have a local network setup. I don't want to setup a local network unless I need to because of increased security.. If I don't slect any of the offered network options during the initial computer bootup, what is the procedure to connect to the internet for a standalone computer?

Any other suggestions would also be very much appreciated. Thanks Sam

If when you are setting up your network you select "public" this will automatically disable local network access (public is this case means in a public location where you do not wish to share with any other users).

If you have a built in wireless option on the PC this may be disabled following instructions in the Dell documentation or if this is not possible in the Network and Sharing centre

As MSE performs a genuine windows check whilst downloading and prior installing this would not really provide any advantages.

Anyone else have luck with an SCCM PXE Boot via USB to Ethernet adapter?  I have set the BIOS up for Legacy Support but when I get to the boot menu, it doesn't have PXE as a choice.  Only "Windows Boot Manager" or the hard drive.   I also looked to see if there was a BIOS firmware update but there is not.  I think it has to do with needing a BIOS update that will allow a PXE Boot.  I work in a school district and there is no sense in buying these if we cannot PXE Boot. Lenovo techsupport tried to help me to no avail and suggested I try this forum for answers. There was a Helix device I believe at one of our other schools that had the same issuse and the tech there told me he contacted Lenovo and they were able to update the BIOS to make it work.   Any chance, Lenovo, you can do this for the Ideapad 110s type:80WG.  Sure would be helpful and we would be more likely to buy many more if we can do this.

The product was purchased in April 2017 directly from Lenovo. It was given to my daughter for university work. The product had issues with space after a Windows 10 upgrade around Aud/Sept 2017. No files could be saved as not enough disk space. Therefore cloud was used to save all documents.  This was discussed at length with Lenovo technical support in Dec 2017 and the product was sent to Germany to be fixed and reimaged for the Windows 10 OS.  This was delivered back early Jan 2018and I checked again and the OS was still taking up 30GB of diskspace meaning there was insufficient storage to handle and Windows upgrades or local files. For anyone famililar with the Lenovo support systems this has been a hard and at times torturous process. Today I again called and requested from Lenovo an agreement to: 1. provide me with a full refund as the product cannot be used as expected 2. Upgrade the product to 64GB and I will be happy that there is enough space to hold files locally The support team have just suggested that I used an external storage device, laughable at best ! and here I am. Can someone at Lenovo please do the sensible thing as I escalate this through my Bank and UK Trading Standards and will take to the small claims court if required. In terms of my experience, I was a Head of IT Infrastructure for a Global Financial company and also headed a Procurement division and I find this entire scenario unbelieveable. Hope someone c... I go and engage the CONSERVE feature for the battery just to see what it does, when I go back to disable it my battery stays in the conserve mode. Long story short, I had to do a complete factory reset only to discover that the battery STILL stays in conserve mode. REALITY: It appears to me that Lenovo has actually damaged my battery instead. Now I only get a max charge of 73% on a brand new ideapad. Worse, the Lenovo settings will now not even show the conserve feature. It is bad enough Windows 10 takes up about 2/3rds of the drive space where you cannot even install almost anything, now my original 6 hour battery is cut down to 2.5 hours...thanks LENOVO for cheating me. NOTE how in the provided image there is no 'conserve' feature as was the case originally.

Hi, I just picked up a  11.6" 110S. It has Win10 on it, original install date 12/2016. I thought the original OS would be Win8.1, but on the Web I've seen it's Win10. In any case, I tried to do a Reset, and after going through the paces it failed. No error message. I could do a clean install, but the problem is the 32GB size of the drive. Lenovo compresses the Reset image down to 1GB, amazingly. And if I took a backup image it would be many times that. There isn't room for that. And I don't want to store the image on external media.  So is there any way to make the Reset work? Thanks.

My friend put his Lenovo desktop to sleep, and when he woke it up, it was at one of the initial setup screens that you see when you first turn on a new computer, or first install Windows 8 - the screen that asks you to accept the Express Settings or to customize the setup.

We could not get out of it, and restarting the computer brought it right back there. So I accepted the Express Settings, then it asked me to enter the Microsoft account info, or to create one. He had a local account only, so I kept denying that screen and finally somehow I ended up at a screen that said something like "use my existing account" although it showed no indication that there was any account. It then said it was installing my Apps (there are no Metro Apps in use on this computer, other than what comes with Win 8). This took about 3 or 4 minutes, then it did some more setup, and when it was done it was (surprisingly) back at his desktop screen, with all his files and desktop icons just like they were before.

Any ideas what might have caused this to happen?

Thanks

A:Goes to Windows initial setup screen for no reason

so, here we go. On Xmasday. My ideapad 110S is online and visible in the home network. But all apps start up and shut down. I managed to get Chrome working, but for the rest...nothing will come online. Microsoft Store thinks it's offline and there is virtually nothing I can do. Not even a factory reset, because the disk is "out of free space"... Creating a new account is impossible> Microsoft Store is needed for that and it still keeps thinking it is offline.
Wifi keeps crashing, rebooring the 110S will get it back, but it is not the way it should be.
Anybody knows what is going on and how to fix this? (other than throwing it in the bin, that is..)

I have several Asus Eee netbooks that I'm getting set up to use at my school. I had some parent volunteers helping me get them ready to deploy, and one of the netbooks was plugged in to initially power it up, but then hard-shut-down before Windows could run through its initial setup.

Now when I boot up the netbook, and it attempts to go through the initial windows setup "Setup is starting services", and then throws an error message:
The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.I restart, and the cycle continues. This happens whether I try to boot normally or in safe mode.

I've got no CD-drive attached to it, so I'm not sure what I can do to break this error cycle. Any suggestions/tools/ideas?

Thx,

Not sure how you deployed them, but if Startup Repair doesn't help when run from System Recovery Options then I would redeploy the image or run Factory Recovery from its partition after backing up the disks.

If you don't have one and they are same hardware, simply backup one's image using Win7 backup imaging or free Macrium - Image your system then boot System Recovery options to Recover Using an Image from its external storage location which you have connected.

If they are not same exact hardware or Image hangs at startup, SysPrep the original before deploying to remove all drivers, activation, SID and HID's.

I came to really like my 110S over the past year and was greatly disappointed when Microsoft virtually obsoleted it recently  by gobbling up all available space on the meager original 32 GB drive and then repeatedly spent endless hours attempting to unsuccessfully upgrade Windows. This fruitless repetitive activity made my 110S essentially useless. After discovering that the 110S|BR sported an empty internal 2.5" M.2 SATA SSD slot, I knew what I had to do. Purchased a 120 GB board on Amazon for $50, formatted it using free software, cloned the operating system onto the new drive, repartitioned the drive using the same free software, switched the booting in the 110S BIOS, and then let Windows update itself on the new drive. Now, the 110S|BR is even quicker and more responsive than ever. I'm looking forward to continue using it for a good while yet. Besides finding the needed partioning and cloning software (I used both EaseUS Partition Master Free and AOMEI Partition Assistant), the only other time effort involved figuring out the steps needed to get the BIOS to boot from the new SSD. Although the SSD drive showed up in the boot menu (F12), it wasn't until I disabled both the internal drive and the Master Boot Record via the BIOS menu (F2) that the 110S would default to booting from the new SSD.

Already contacted Warranty Repair Center but that means travel and days without PC. Must say this is my third laptop and never have I experienced anything like this. RELEVANCY SCORE 60.4

My wife just bought this laptop four days ago, she loves it.  Running Win 10 Home, 64bit, 32Gb SSD, 2Gb RAM.  The battery icon on the taskbar says " battery 95%, not charging".  What should I do to get it to register the 100% that it should be at?  Thanks for any and all help.Chris

Hi chrisalk13  ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

For newer computers , preventing batteries to reach 100 % are buffer to prolong battery life.
Energy manager softwares  and BIOS smart battery technology would control this buffering.

Disabling such features and turning the power options to high performance from default conservation mode would allow it to reach 100 % .

Update us how it goes for you.
