IE6-Getting script error and error report messages

Q: IE6-Getting script error and error report messages

I'm being bogged down with script error messages, error report request and the odd IE6 termination. Here is a copy of my HiJack This log (saw another post with similar questions and that was what was requested, so here it is). I have a HP Pavilion pc running Windows XP Home Edition. Hope someone can help because these constant error messages are driving me nuts.

Preferred Solution: IE6-Getting script error and error report messages

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

hello again. I have a prob which has just started on my windows 10 machine after visiting a utube site. after closing the window on internet explorer I get a script error message. even though in tools/internet options/advanced I have script debugging for both (other) and internet explorer disabled and display notification about every script error unchecked. the url listed in the notice is as follows.
https://bit-pcomp-us-prod.s3.amazonaw...s.built.min.js
to get rid of it without restarting the computer. I have to enable script debugging and then click no on the error message and then change it back to the original setting in advanced. is there a cure for this error?

Hello, Everybody. I have two questions.

I have Windows 10. How do I access which programs on my computer are activated at start up? I believe some of them may be slowing my computer down, and it's possible I don't need one or more of them. And, how do I determine which programs are necessary, besides the Windows and security ones? I may not use some of them knowingly, but my desktop might think they're important.

Secondly, When I get on line, I'm getting all these "unresponsive script" error messages with options to ignore or debug the script. These script problems are really paralyzing my desktop at times or causing "jerky" or "spastic" responses following a delay, after I hit a key or my mouse button. It happens primarily on Mozilla, occasionally in Windows and/or Google. How do I deal with that, also? Thanks, Steve

I temporary solved the last batch by deleting all cookies and temporary files in internet options. this was fine for a few days but has now started again with the "script error" window constantly popping up choose what site I am in. Any idea how to stop this problem please?

Lately I have been experiencing problems when I am on the internet. I keep getting error messages that say, "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". Then I can't do anything else until I click on cancel or close. The other error message reads "An error has occured in the script on this page. Line 7, char. 68, Error-Unable to get value of the property constructor object is null or undefined, code:0, URL://d2ue49q0mum86xcloudfront.net/include/sa.cjs"

The first error has been happening for a couple of weeks, but the second error just started today. I tried to take my computer back to a point where I did not have the errors, and now I have two errors instead of the one. Uggggggg! This is very frustrating, please help. Thanks

Howdy Pardners,

Using a reasonably new Acer with Windows 7 (IE8), I've recently started to get Script Error messages popping up while I'm on the net;

An error has occurred in the script on this page
Line: 1
Char: 7
Error: Invalid Character
URL: http://adyieldmanager.com/pixel?id=652276&t=2

I must admit I'm not sure if every one I get is the same as that.

I've tried checking and unchecking the 'disable script debugging' and that hasn't worked and I've also now started to get Webpage Error messages popping up as well with such gems as 'Object expected' and 'Exception thrown and not caught'

I've tried unchecking 'Display a notification about every script error' but that hasn't worked either.
I don't want to turn something off if there really is a problem with the script, but the only problem I can see are the constant error messages

Can you please use your wisdom to outwit this wascally wabbit?

Nellie.

You can download and install the free SpywareBlaster. It will keep adyieldmanager.com and A LOT of other tracking cookies away. You'll even enjoy a relatively ad free Internet... You'll even forget you have the program. It doesn't run in the background.

Or, open Internet Explorer. Click Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Sites.

In the "Address of website" box, type yieldmanager.com and click Block.

You can also do this for the Restrited sites:

Select the Security tab. Choose Restricted sites > Sites > type *.yieldmanager.com and click Add.

SpywareBlaster will basically do the same thing.

I sure would appreciate any help. I get the "error running internet script" messages at random times but usually when I'm playing downloaded trial games or on gamesites but also at other times. There is a lot of different information contained in the messages but they all include the error running script message. This is really aggravating as you can imagine and sometimes the games are lost. Thank you. I run Widows Vista Home Premium.

Hi.
Firstly I am running Windows XP.

Have had a similar problem before which have now returned, or maybe they never went away.
I also ought to mention that before I had my MySpace account suspended due to phishing, I have since re-opened it, hopefully it hasnt been 'Phished' again?

I was checking my e-mails and suddenly some random sounds came out of my speakers, Like I say, I have had this problem before ran AVG and Adaware which both found amongst other things, Trojan horses.

I have just ran AVG again and it has found the following:

Trojan Horse.Downloader agent.LAC - listed as .dll
Trojan Horse.Clicker.FOP - listed as .exe
Trojan Horse.Clicker.FOP - listed as .log
Trojan Horse Backdoor.Generic 6.RAL - listed as .exe
All of which AVG have deleted

As AVG was running I had script error messages, asking if I wanted to run scripts on IE pages that I have never visited, didn't keep a log of any of these, and also I answered NO to each.

Then I thought of Techguy (should have done that first I suppose),
I have now got HJT and here is the log from that:

babylon.exe managed to get on my windows 7 computer. Since then I keep getting script error messages on numerous web pages. I have deleted babylon but think it is still hiding somewhere.
I have followed debugging advice to no avail. I have also restore but am angry that windows 7 prevents me from going back far enough.
Does anyone know if a virus would be responsible and how I can prevent the script errors appearing?
I have followed numerous ideas but nothing is working and wonder if a return to factory settings is the only option left, altho0ugh I dont really want that. Thanks

A:contant script error messages due to virus

Hello Mike and welcome to Seven Forums.

Once a virus infects a machine you can never be 100% certain that a removal tool has gotten rid of all traces. So depending on what removal steps you've already taken, I'd suggest using a free tool from Microsoft called Windows Defender Offline. It will start to scan your machine before Windows boots, which is something that most scanners don't do. They have to wait for Windows to boot before they start to work. Create your media from a machine that's not infected.

Windows Defender Offline

Once you've used WDO I'd then suggest using at least a couple more free on-demand scanners since no anti-malware program is 100% effective 100% of the time. (If there was such a thing we'd all be using it.) Some of the recommended free products are Malwarebytes | ESET | Superantispyware | Hitman Pro.

If your additional scans come back clean I'd next recommend you run a System file Checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two) to rule out any damaged or corrupt system files. If any problems are noted, run the scan 3 times rebooting in between each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Post back if any of this helped or not. There are other things that can be tried that won't cause you to lose personal data, custom settings, etc. before having to resort to a factory reinstall or a clean install.

Hello,

Thanks if you can offer any advice or help.

I got infected with a virus/malware last week - Windows Restore. I was suspicious of it, however I think I may have run their scan for a short moment. I wasn't using any antivirus software (I had turned it off because I felt that it was slowing down the computer) so this may have been part of the cause. I am now running Free Avast! and Windows Firewall is ON. I got rid of most of the infection first of all using RKILL, then using a combination of MBAM, Spybot and CCleaner.

Then I noticed I had a problem with Google Redirects. Following some online research I ran an older version of TDSSKiller (couldn't download a more recent version) and it asked me if I wanted to delete VBEV5MP.SYS. I decided against this and ran a GMER scan. This also points to a possible problem with VBEV5MP.SYS. I then ran Sophos Anti-Rootkit Software and this pointed to a lot of Hidden Files but didn't recommend deleting any.

My online research tells me that deleting VBEV5MP.SYS could cause a lot of problems so I have come to Bleeping Computer to see if I can get any help or advice.

Incidentally, Google only redirects when I select an entry with the left mouse button. If I open an entry an a new window the problem doesn't occur. And I haven't noticed the problem occurring on other websites.

I also get occasional pop up warnings saying 'An error has occurred in the script on this page' and later asking me ... Read more

I am getting Script error messages popping up when I try to use Internet Explorer 8 as a browser - not every time I open IE8, but on a fairly regular basis.

This is the script error message that appears;

First problem I have is that I'm never sure whether or not to continue running the script, or stop it all together?

Secondly, is there anything I can do to fix whatever problem there is to stop this pesky message from happening?

Thirdly, I haven't a clue what 'scripts' are about, and no understanding of their functions or dirty habits.

Fourthly, I fired up the URL and got rubbish, but it does [well to me anyway] seem to suggest a bug with the Google Toolbar I have as an add-on with IE8.

Cheers, The Sepoys

Hello, been trying to fix this myself for the past week, but since I got rid of the virus (Malwarebytes, S&D, and AVG all got it) some strange things have happened/have been happening: Everything in my Start>All programs list has been removed (programs still on computer, just list is gone), background display turned to default blue (haven't tried setting it back to normal), Google redirects sometimes after clicking a link (redirects to random sites), and an error message keeps popping up with this kind of message, even when IE is not running (it has slight differences sometimes):

-----
Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line: 14
Char: 1
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method (or some other random error)
Code: 0
URL: hxxp://celebrity-gossip.net (or some other random site)
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
-----

Malwarebytes, S&D, AVG, and Bitdefender find nothing, even in safe mode. TDSSKiller will not execute, even in safe mode. GMER wouldn't complete its scan without exiting, but I got the log of everything it found as far as I can see. Thank you beforehand . Here's my DDS log:

I installed a clean copy of WinXP and Service Pack 2 on a new Drive and then installed Norton AntiVirus 2002. After I had updated the virus definitions, I was astonished to get script error messages everytime I started Norton. Effectively Norton and update were not running.

I hunted around on the internet and the Symantec help site for a solution but none of the solutions seemed to work. Finbally I found the solution and its so simple I thought I would post it here for all to see.

The solution is SIMPLE. Click on start, choose Programs and Norton Anti-Virus then choose "Live Update". run this twice. That's it! The script error messages should be gone.

Hello. Does anyone know how to stop frequently recurring Script Error messages? I have run a few different virus scans and CCleaner. None of them found anything so I don't know if the problem is caused by a virus/malware or if it's a Windows 10 issue.

Background: Upgraded to Win 10 last month. Tried Edge but didn't like it so switched back to Internet Explorer, and that's when the problem started. When online, I get Script Error messages on many sites (but so far not here, whew), and have to click either Yes/No or X several times to get rid of the message.

I have IE (in ?Advanced?) set to disable scripts on IE and everywhere else and to not repeat the Script Error message (sample pic attached; the links change each time), but it still happens. TIA

Sometime last week I got hit with a rogue anti-virus program, can't remember it's name, but I got rid of that rather easily. However, since then google has been redirecting me when I do searches, Internet Explorer script errors appear even though I don't have IE installed, and random audio ads play in the background without any program being open. These ads last anywhere from 15 seconds for the shortest to 15 minutes. I had almost a full radio show from a Christian radio station play last night. I would really appreciate any help with this! I have work in about two hours and then again tomorrow morning so my replies may be a bit slow, but please bear with me. Thanks in advance.

What already worries me is that I uninstalled Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition quite awhile, like months, ago.

You can try dial-a-fix. Its magical for this kind of problems. Dial-a-fix will put many of your registry entries to Windows default state. You need admin rights for it.

http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix

Read carefully first, then download and run it ONLY if you understand clearly what would it do and if you can take all the previous actions suggested.

Good luck!

I think rebooting could maybe make things worse, so I figured it would be better to ask for advice before attempting to reboot again, so I don't have the scanning information required.

I began to have problems with my computer this morning (June 29). Last night I had let windows install its updates, rebooted, and left the computer on overnight. When I got up the next morning, it had an error about win32.exe encountering an error and needing to close, one of those error report ones. The first time I didn't bother telling it to send. However, afterwards the taskbar disappeared and ctrl+alt+del didn't do anything. I had to reboot manually, and then it was fine for a while until having another win32 error report, which I sent, and after which my sound failed to work for certain things. My winamp had an error about missing something and wouldn't play, and a youtube video's sound wouldn't play. I didn't have to shut it down manually this time, and the shutdown sound worked. The sound worked again afterward, but I tried virus scanning with Avira and it stopped on svchost.exe.mdmp at 22.1%, and it only found a java/openconnect.l for a ?detection?. I tried getting the task manager, and when I tried ctrl+alt+del and clicked it, it not only didn't give me the task manager at all but it took my taskbar, and then nothing else would work when clicked. I rebooted again and tried running MalwareBytes, and then after a couple minutes the screen went black and then turned blue, and had this:... Read more

I am using Windows ME in a new Dell Dimension 4100 series, Pentium 3, 1.1 gig, MSN Office 2000 Professional.

I am having trouble saving a word document that was e-mailed to me. I did a "save as" into "my documents." Then I changed something in the document, and I saved it. Upon closing the document I was asked if wanted to save changes and I said yes.(this confused me as I don't normally get this when I do the normal 'save' under the 'file tab')
Later when I went to open this document, I got an error message, "Locked for editing by another user, click notify to open as a read only copy". When I clicked on notify, I got another error message,"Winword has caused an error in winword.exe. Winword will now close.Try restarting your computer."

When I tried to delete this document, I got the message "Cannot delete file. Access is denied. Source file may be in use."

I experimented and again saved into my documents, again made a change, hit save and closed the doc. When I got the message asking me if I wanted to save the changes, I said no. This procedure enabled me to reopen the document.

I don't understand what is happening and why the key seems to be how I answer the question, do you want to save the changes?

Can someone help?
Thanks

A:Word doc-error messages: locked, winword error, source file

SOUNDS LIKE (tho I'm not sure), that Word didn't exit properly at least that one time. Next time it happens, and you believe Word to be closed, hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and see if "winword" is still in the task list. If so, click on it and hit End Task. Then delete your file.

If your programs aren't "really" closing down, you may just need to clean up your hard drive. Follow the instructions at:

A:8800 GTX error with Sims3, error report

"A problem with your video hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly"...

This is probably caused by bad or corrupted video drivers. Go to Nvidia's driver support website and download and install the latest driver for the 8800... Your computer may also be infected with a virus or other malware

Good afternoon,
I was using My Passport portable hard drive, when a Windows window popped up and said any data might be lost, and needed Windows needed to close, after it closed my window was frozen, so I unplugged My Passport
I rebooted my computer and a message popped up about WB My Passport, and now when I plug in My Passport it is not being recognized by My Computer. I tried to explain this the best I could.
See screenshot of error
Thank you

I'm currently trying to use my LG Rumor 2 to act as a modem for a dialup connection with my bluetooth capable computer. Everything is working great but my university, which I'm trying to connect to, requires a ppp script setup and I need to use the terminal window. So the computer dials correctly and everything works but when the terminal window appears I can't type anything although the text field appears for the username. Also, within a few seconds of the terminal window appearing I get the error "The Script has Halted." I can however right click and paste in text (but i don't know if that's relevant). Here is what I see:

Any suggestions?
