Yoga 370 ALT keys?

Q: Yoga 370 ALT keys?

My native language uses quite a few special characters, for which I need ALT+ codes. However, there doesn't seem to be a NUMLOCK on the Yoga 370... hou would one type ALT keys?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Whenever I change the Function Keys setting to use F1-F12 (via Lenovo Vantage), after a few reboots the setting changes back to using the Hot-Keys instead. Why?  And what can I do to stop this from happening?

Just got this Yoga 3 14 series laptop for cheap from a local shop, and it works great on Windows 10 except for one minor but annoying thing. In the Lenovo settings app, the keyboard settings for switching between F keys and the hot keys being on the function row are reversed. If I set it to have hot keys without FN, it instead does the F row functions without FN.If I set it to have F keys without FN, it instead does the hot key functions without FN. Anyone have this problem before, and is there a fix? Many thanks!

Device make:YOGA 92013IKB Glass Product #:80Y8 I have a Lenovo Yoga 920 and some of the keys on my physical keyboard have stopped working (4, r, f, v, 5, t, g, and b) but my onscreen keyboard works. I belive this started happening after I updated my Bios and did windows update. This has been going on for around a month and I am frustrated and cannot find a solution online anywhere. Please help. Solutions I have tried:Turning my laptop on and off/restart.I have tried turning off fast startup and this temporarily fixed my keyboard but did not last.Tried updating my drivers through Lenovo update, windows, and device manager.I have gone into device manager and deleted my keyboards and that only worked temporarily too.

A:Lenovo Yoga (YOGA 92013IKB Glass) some keys not working (4, r, f, v, 5,t, g, and b)

Usually, when groups of keys in rows or columns stop working, the problem is the keyboard itself.  Are you still under warranty?

Before today, I didn't need to press the "Fn" key to change the volume or the brightness, or the other keys of that nature. Today suddenly, I now have to press the fn key. So far I've tried looking at the settings in lenovo vantage, and in the bios thingy, but i can't find anything to change it back to the setting it was earlier. I tried looking at other posts on here, but most of them seemed to be outdated. Thanks,

Dear Lenovo, How can I have both Esc and function keys work normally in Yoga 700? That is, as in any normal computer keyboard where Esc is Esc, and F1 is F1, etc. If I set 'hot key' mode in bios then Esc is normal, but function keys act as hot keys.If I set 'function key' mode in bios then function keys are normal, but Esc is paper display toggle. I don't think it's too much to ask. Best regards.

I've had my X1 Yoga 3rd Gen for a couple of months, generally very happy with it. Yesterday I noticed the right arrow key (bottom right of the keyboard, under the PgDn key) is broken - not completely, but the left half of it stays depressed when pushed down. Aside from the fact that I'm unhappy this has happened so soon after purchase (and my sense that it may be a function of the retractable keys and that there's more of the same to come), I'd like to know (a) if these keys can be replaced and (b) what I need to purchase and from where. I've had a look at various sites including http://www.laptopkey.com/ and none have any specific reference to the X1 Yoga 3rd Gen. Can anyone help please?

A:X1 Yoga 3rd Gen replacement keys

Since your machine is new or at least less than 1 year old it should be under warranty.  If it was me i would call support to have keyboard replaced.  I have never had a key fall off but have had keys that were "overly" sensitive.  I would hit a nearby key and it would trigger the key next to it as well.  Lenovo replaced the keyboard and problem was solved.

I've had this laptop for over two years and this just started happening recently. After that I installed all drivers including updates provided by Microsoft and Lenovo (using Lenovo system updater 5). But I can't use all FN keys (meaning the special functions like opening the windows 8 settings pane bar...) Also the orange led is lighted up on the F1 key (I guess this should indicate that my speakers are muted - but this led is always on). What should I do or what do I have to install in addition to use all FN special keys including the correct indication of the mute-LED?

When I press the F3 key, I need the Yoga 920 to interpret this as "F3" and not "Increase sound volume." In the past, certain Lenovo notebooks had a BIOS setting that let you reconfigure the function keys to do just that. I don't believe the Yoga 920 has this BIOS setting (why don't all Yoga models have a similar BIOS structure is beyond me). I have an excellent Microsoft external keyboard that allows you to lock the function key, simply by pressing "Fn" (a small light turns on in the "Fn" key, similar to the "CapsLk" key.) Any suggestions? It can't be this difficult, can it?

Hello - We have owned this Lenovo Yoga (product specs below) for about 3 years with no issues. suddenly, a handful of keys stopped working from the keyboard.  I can type just fine using an external keyboard, or by using the screen keyboard. The letters that don't work: g, i, o and p.   I updated the bios and all other drivers from the Lenovo site, hoping it was just a driver issue, but it seems pretty obvious that it's a hardware issue.  I deleted the kayboard from device manager and re-installed, as well.  I have swapped out Lenovo keyboards before, but this one looks different.  Using an external keyboard is not a long term possibility for this user.   Any thoughts?  Thank you all!Device:Yoga Laptop (ThinkPad)Machine Type: 20CD00BYUSOS: Windows 10 (64bit)Processor: 1x Intel Core i7-4600U Processor(i7-4600U): Memory: 1x 8GB PC3-12800

Just got a new Yoga 910. One thing is driving me crazy -- it appears the function keys by default require pressing the Fn button. I don't use the alternate things like airplane mode and speaker volume as much and would prefer to have function keys primary and then press fn keys for the quick keys. There is mention of reversing the fn key in the bios, but under configuration I have no hotkey option. I'm running bios 2JCN39WW which appears to be the latest. How do I switch the hotkey / function key priority so I can use F4 and F2 without holding the fn button?

Hello dear support. I am experiencing regular fn hot keys config reset on Yoga 720-15 to default F1-F12 settings. I prefer to control display brightness, volume etc by not pressing the "Fn" key. Function keys config resets after some time even if I enable the "Hot Keys" preference in BIOS.  I did not installed any other new drivers, firmware or Windows updates before the problem occured except Lenovo Vantage auto update. There was a feature to select whether to use or not the "Fn" key for hot keys (F1-F12) on my Lenovo Yoga 720-15 in Lenovo Vantage application. Now there is no such option. Hi waqas_a  ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Ideally it would be best to isolate it with an external USB keyboard and check if same thing would happen .

How about on the onscreen keyboard under ease of access.

From how you describe it , seems tending to be more of a mechanical contact issue .
Noting the proximity of n-m , v-b , spacebar - enter .

You can air can clean it for particles causing this . Any incident of liquid spill?
You can check on the hardware manual from the support site for guide if you have the shill and tools to dissassemble the keyboard for cleaning else if you have an active warranty do call in tech support for assistance / local service center.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

my laptop is not yet a year old and it has not been used a great deal, i am extremely careful with my latop and it has never been near water, dropped or anything that could have damaged the hardware. this makes me believe the issue is software related.the issue is that i have keys on my keyboard that will randomly stop working, when i push them nothing will happen. it is sometimes random but usually is any of the following keys "3edc4rfv5tgb0p;/"they will always stop working in a diagonal across and down my keybaord e.g. if T is broken "5TGB" will also be broken. and that same diagonal pattern down my keyboard follows if a key stops working. to get them working i can mash the broken keys all at the same time until they start typing and then they seem to start working for a couple minutes or a couple seconds. but will always stop working again eventually. i have contacted lenovo countless times as my laptop is in warranty for the next 7 years however they only offer a repair which i currently cannot do as i am in UNIVERSITY and cannot do without a laptop for up to 6 weeks. what i would like to know is if there is a quick and easy possible fix such as resetting or reimaging my laptop that i can do myself in a couple of hours to try and fix the problem?also if anyone else has had the problem and if there are any other possibilities on getting it fixed/recommendations on what to do because there is nothing more frustrating than having keys stopping working when i p... You can change the volume in software, but neither the volume +- on the keyboard, nor the volume rocker on the side of the machine will change the volume. That is, UNLESS you open the task manager, and then click on the services tab. As long as the focus is on the services tab, then the volume on the keyboard and the rocker will both work. If you click on another window, or if you click on a tab other than the services tab, both sets of buttons stop working. Also, both sets of buttons work fine in Linux.

The keys on my Yoga 900 periodically double enter with a single key stroke.  For example, when I press the "e" key once my laptop will periodically produce "ee".  It does this for many of the characters and is very annoying.  How do I get this fixed.  Is it a keyboard hardware issue.  I need to resolve this while my laptop is still in warranty.  I've never had this happen before.

A:Yoga 900 keyboard key defect - bouncing keys

Hello, I had this problem with my Yoga 3. I finally get fed up with it and decided to look into it. I cannot  say I found a solution based on any suggestions, because I didn't see anything  relevant from my initial search. So, I went to the Lenovo support site and looked for a keyboard driver update. I didn't see one. This is probably not related, but I did see an update to my touchpad driver, so I updated it. Then I checked for a BIOS update. There was one, but the accompanying text file did not mention anything about a fix for keyboard bounce. In fact, it didn't really give a list of problems fixed at all. So, I decided to try it anyway. Well, it seems to have worked! I got keyboard bounce so often that I'm sure I would have seen it multiple times by now. If it happened only once in a while, I would not have been so annoyed. This is where I started the process: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/GlobalProductSelector?C=1&TabName=Downloads&linkTrack If you click on "Detect my product", it will install an app that collects your specific product info.  Then, when  you click on it again with the app installed, it will go to a page for your product and you can search for various driver updates and BIOS updates. I hope this works for you. It certainly seems to have fixed my keyboard bounce problem.
