Q: Windows 7 ,Freezing, slow response, Hp laptop, Probook 4530s,

My lap top is only 2 month old, I have kept it in great condition, not downloading tons or random movie and music files. It has been running perfectly. It is a Windows 7 HP Probook 4530s.

It has not given me any trouble so far.

Today my friend and I were downloading Java to play minecraft. The download went ok, and I proceed to boot up the minecraft program. When the program loaded the computer began lagging horribly.
I quickly ended the program and attempted to restart it, the program ran with the same horrible lag.
So I ended the program, but my computer was still lagging, all programs I attempted to run took for ever to start up, and when they did they froze. I restarted the laptop and after all the programs started up, I attempted to run Firefox, and it loaded, then froze, as did all other programs, I had to force the computer off. I spent the rest of the day cleaning up the computer, deleting old program files, music, I ran multiply disk clean ups, and attempted to defrag the hard drive. But these programs all froze.
I restarted and ran in Safe Mode, and it worked fine, all the programs loaded and nothing froze. Me and my friend worked on it all day, finally we found out that the Minecraft program had installed wrong, or something like that, THe program files were installed in the wrong place. We deleted those file and restarted the computer. It started up, and All programs functioned for a while, and the lag was gone, it all ran smoothly, then maybe two minutes later everything freezes. I attempt to open programs but the files will not open

That thread is the closet thing I can find that resembles my current problem, Please help, thank you for your time in advance.

Preferred Solution: Windows 7 ,Freezing, slow response, Hp laptop, Probook 4530s,

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Since your computer seems to be running normally in Safe Mode, I would try a Clean Boot procedure to hopefully isolate a culprit.

Hi All,

I'm using HP Probook 4530s with Windows 7 Home Premium installed, my laptop comes with 8gb 1066mhz (4gb*2)
Today I bought Cosair 16gb 1333mhz ( 8gb*2) when I installed 16gb RAM it took almost 5 mins to go from Windows 7 startup page to Windows 7 desktop. I then removed 8gb *1 off my laptop the boot time was under 1 min.

it works perfectly fine with 16gb when it comes to Windows 7 desktop but the only problem is the booting time is too long, do you know how to solve this issue?

P.S. I did check both the RAM and they are all ok. Windows 7 display correctly the 16gb ram not 8gb

Thank you all

Does your laptop's BIOS have an option to disable memory checking or something along those lines...where it scans all system memory each and every time you boot?

Hi, My HP Probook 4530s is not booting with Windows 7. When turning on, it brings the "Start Windows" page with the Windows logo and it freezes there! It is however loading on Safe Mode. I have tried reinstalling the WIndows 7, it worked at first and didn't freeze, but after installing the ATI graphics driver, which is necessary for having appropriate display, it again freezed after rebooting at the same Windows Start page. What is wrong with my computer?! Please help!

A:Which wireless driver to use for my HP Probook 4530s laptop?

Hi Naz, Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Network Adapters.  Right click on the wireless device ( this may show as 'Unknown Device' if no driver is loaded ) and select Properties.  Click the Details tab, choose Hardware Ids from the dropdown box and post back with the details shown under Value. Regards, DP-K

I have an HP Probook 4530s that I bought several years ago.  Maxed out the ram and its ran fine forever.  I really only use it for email, watching movies, looking at Excel sheets, viso, Online bacnking, etc..  Nothing requirng a super powerful machine. Short Story, after a failed Restore to factory settings, it says "Operating System Not found"... Long story, My laptop, its been running slower and slower, till it would require a reboot, then run fine for a few days. Finally, fed up with it, I decided to try and restore this...  I've done it on many other Desktops and Laptops in the past. Normally, there is s program you click on and it will ask if everything is backed up, upon confirming, it will format, and re-install everything like the 1st time you powered it up. This Probook 4530s did not have that...  So I fumbled around and tried creating a ""restore CD"... I got the latop to make what I thought was a good cd and started the process, not sure where I went wrong, but somehow I must have wiped everything and now it just says ""Opperating system not found" when you try and boot it... Right now, I'm in the bios running all the diags making sure the HD or noting else just happend to go bad, but I'm pretty positive it was me and something I did or did not do...  So, now my laptop is pretty much a paper weight, till I can figure this out... What do I need to do?

Hello all! Specs provided, this is what I'm experiencing

Slow boot
This laptop used to boot fast. Within seconds actually. Now it takes abhorrently long. I think around 5 mins. There are ocassions where it booted forever and I had to force shut down.

Freezing and need to force shutdown
So I'm going about my regular tasks. Using a browser and then all of a sudden, I can't move my mouse or click anything. It doesn't go away. I am forced to force shutdown.
That always messes up my pc -- especially with booting. I usually get the infinite booting right after a forced shutdown.

Sluggish response
For example, if I click the start menu, there is a delay before it responds. Also longer time loading folders (may even cause freezing).

I've already run an anti-virus scan. No viruses.... Read more

Hi, I'm having some trouble getting Windows 10 installed properly: How did you guys even get the HP 4530s to get the right Display Drivers for Windows 10, it looks like HP still hasn't released updated drivers for the 4530s...  I have a ProBook 4530s running Windows 7 64bit Home edition. When I did the Windows 10 upgrade about a month ago, the installation appeared successful, but upon booting the computer, at the sign on screen (with the rocky beach picture with the ocean in the background) the screen would just flicker and not allow me to sign in or go past that point. So I went back to Windows 7. It appears to be a display driver issue but I see that HP has not released any display drivers for Windows 10 for the ProBook 4530s. Even if I had the driver's ready on an external flash drive or something, how am I supposed to install them if the screen keeps flickering and not allowing me to get to the desktop. I have also hooked up an external monitor and the same thing happens...  How do I get the proper drivers installed -especially Display and Wireless Networking drivers,,,,before doing the upgrade attempt again to Windows 10? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hello. Which suggested not let me install it. I have also installed other drivers windows 8 and I updated with the manufacturer (Intel and AMD) the graphics cards and some other that windows update has recommended me. Anyway still taking 1 min 30 sec to start, as there are 2 devices that are not recognized and for which no drivers. And the Atheros bluetooth driver gives a problem. HP, please release drivers for these three devices soon. In this link http://answers.microsoft.com/es-es/windows/forum/windows_10-other_settings/windows-10-arranca-muy-le..., is the solution to the problem, that obtained from this other link http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Lockups-Freezes-Hangs/windows-10-extremely-slow-boot-since-ins.... The problem is with the ATI graphics Catalyst driver, with version 15.7. To solve the problem of slow start, in the registry, change all the DWORD value to 0 in the enableULPS key.  Make a backup of the registry before making changes just in case... Thus, although I still have the problem with the three drivers, startup is normal in less than 30 seconds. Greetings and good luck.

ankush2 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about needing Win10 drivers for your laptop and wanted to help. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem you're up against is that Microsoft only supplies drivers with the most basic functionality, and what you really need for FULL functionality in laptops is the specialized drivers written for the specific hardware found in laptops -- and unfortunately, there are no HP Win10 drivers for your laptop. However, for MS-supplied drivers that aren't working well, you could consider using HP Win8 drivers -- although there's no guarantee that those drivers will work.  Here's the link to the HP Product drivers and software page for Win8 for your PC:  http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5060881&lang=en&cc=usWhen that page opens, select Windows 8x using the operating system pulldown. You might have to install the drivers using compatibility mode: http://www.windows10forums.com/articles/compatibility-mode.7/Good Luck

So this is a question long overdue as this problem actually occurred a few months ago. Much to my frustration now, I was idiotic enough to leave it without properly attempting to find a solution to it, instead using it as an opportunity to make myself an excuse to buy a new laptop. Well, fast forward a few months and I've begun to realise just how good a laptop it actually was, at least better than my current one. Classic, huh? Anyway, right on with it. I was playing the video game Team Fortress 2 on my laptop when suddenly it completely froze and there was just this annoying, loud repetitive whirring sound coming out. Without thinking twice, I immediately held the power button to turn the latop off, with a plan to restart it. However, when I did try to restart, it was stuck at my current predicament, "Starting Windows" screen.  I vaguely recall trying a system restore, but to no avail. Laptop can still boot up in safe mode, however.  Any kind of help is appreciated, and any further questions greatly welcomed. Thanks in advance. Note please, that my computer knowledge is equal to my common sense, i.e just about non-existent, so rather specific guides would be very nice too.

A:Probook 4530s stuck at "Starting Windows"

Hi: That is a tough one... Normally when that happens you have to reinstall the operating system. I would suggest if you can get into Windows Save Mode to copy any files you don't want to lose to a CD or usb flash drive (if you can do that in safe mode, I never tried it). If your notebook has the recovery manager software, you can try a factory reset by following the instructions at the link below or use your W7 recovery disks. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867418 If you don't have either, and you live in the USA/Canada, you can order a set of recovery disks by contacting HP at 1-800-334-5144. Don't be so hard on yourself.  I have done it several times...

Hi: To find out what model wireless card your notebook has, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category, and there you will see the name and model number of the wireless network card. W10 should install most of the drivers you need. If you get stuck, let me know and I will try and help you further. Note:  if your notebook has the AMD/Intel switchable graphics, I do not believe that W10 will work correctly. Only notebooks with the Intel graphics will probably run on W10.

My computer just recently has been running painfully slow. Boot up takes about 10 minutes while log in time has increased a little also. When I attempt to open my programs now, some wont open until 15 minutes later, after I already gave up on them; some don't even open at all. Internet explorer works but takes about a minute to load the homepage and loading times vary. Sometimes it loads quick, sometimes it seems like it has stopped responding. Sometimes explorer completely freezes and I get the "checking for solutions" message. I am really getting frustrated because I have ran all of my anti virus anti spyware, malware etc. I have pccillin antivirus, malwarebytes, ad-aware, and spybot search and destroy, all of which say my comp has 0 problems. Itunes seems to be extremely bad in loading because i can try for 30 min and not get it to load even after uninstalling and reinstalling. I also have cleaned out the comp using ccleaner and have defragmented. I am running low on options and don't know whats wrong this time. Please help!

You may have some hardware problems.*** Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 (or http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic28744.html)Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), and make the CD bootable.NOTE. Good afternoon, all! I've been trying to upgrade a ProBook 4530S to Windows 10.  All looks good until I try to connect to Wi-Fi.  The widget simply says "Cannot connect to wireless" and there are no Event Viewer entries showing why.   The wired adapter works fine.  They're both the Realtek adapter.  I tried the Windows 8.1 driver with no success.  The hard switch is on and the LED is white.  The BIOS is the latest & greatest.  Also triple-checked the wireless router password - thst's OK, too! With no indication from the OS as to what's going on, I may have to restore Win 7 and either start over or give up.  I have another ProBook that I tried to upgrade; the wireless was fine, but there was something in the services that kept refreshing the desktop and breaking VPN and RDP connections.  So, I'm a little concerned that these laptops may not be upgradeable to Win 10.   Any tips for getting Win 10 to run on this? Thanks to all for looking!  Gregg

A:Win 10 on ProBook 4530S results in no Wi-Fi

Hi: If your notebook has the RTL8188CE wireless card, that doesn't work on W10. I didn't even know there was a W8.1 driver for it.  I only thought that card worked up to W8. Why not upgrade the wlan card to the Intel card listed in the service manual...chapter 3, page 25. That should work fine on W10.  Not only that, but you then get a dual band card with bluetooth. Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6230     HP Part # 636672-001 The only caution is you must get that card, and it must have the HP part # on it or it will not work because of the BIOS whitelist HP has on those models. You should be able to find them used but in tested and working condition cheaply on eBay by querying by the part number. I would make sure you see the HP part number shown for the item in the listing photograph.

HELP! I need to enable VT-X on my HP Probook 4530s and am having no joy! I need it to develop using Android Studio effectively -  so that I can run android device emulation. I cant launch Android Virtual Device (AVD) in an emulator as AVD reports an error and tells me  I Need to install Intel HAXM as emulation requires Hardware Acceleration. To successfully install the Intel HAXM -it needs the pre-requisite that the intel vt-x be enabled in my computers  bios.I eventually was able to turn on virtualisation in the bios (I think! -  see note lower down) but it did not help with the install of Intel HAXM.I also,---try turning off firewall during the HAMX install - didnt help---turned off 'Windows Virtual PC' in ControlPanel/Programs/'Turn windows features on or off'  during the HAMX install - didnt help---installed piriform 'speccy' to inspect the value. When I navigated to cpu/virtualistion -  it states that virtualisation is supported but disabled. How do I get the HAMX install to work if RT-X is not enabled? How do I get RT-X to be enabled? I am not convinced the BIOS enablement of virtualisation worked. I have inserted a photo of the bios setup menu,  where the only reference to anything associated with RT-X is the Virtualisation reference below - which I accessed by pressing ESC on boot up, followed by F10 for the BIOS setup, logged in as the biosAdministrator, then navigating to th... I have a HP Probook 4530s that is double booted with Windows 7 and OSX and has 8 GB of RAM. It is running the version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit that came with the computer. None of the original software has been removed. I have been having some issues with my hardware consuming most of the RAM in Windows 7 to the point where I only have 2.9 GB of usable RAM (I had the same amount of usable RAM when the computer had 4 GB of installed RAM). Windows detects that I have 8 GB of RAM installed so I don't think it is an issue with how the RAM is installed. (Additionally, I can use all of the RAM in OSX). How can I fix this issue?

Hello and welcome mostly I reckon you should look at what is being used at boot up > Start > type msconfig > right click run as admin and go to the tab Start you will see what is being loaded at boot up you can then work through some of the bloatware which sounds like lot of your problem too and untick them see my on boot pic.

Hi: You need these drivers for the devices in your screen shot. Base system devices... The JMicron Media Card Reader Driver enables the integrated media card slot in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp60501-61000/sp60769.exe USB: This package contains the Renesas USB 3.0 driver. This driver is available for supported notebook models with supported operating systems. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54511.exe Now, I see what I hope is just a minor problem...You don't have a wireless network adapter showing up anywhere in the device manager...with or without a driver. So, install this software, restart the PC and see if you can turn on the wireless card by using this software. This package provides the HP Connection Manager for the supported notebook running a supported operating system. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53001-53500/sp53394.exe

My ProBook 4530 laptop (A7KO5UT) running on Windos 7 Home Premium (64bit) does not charge my battery. This computer is only several weeks old and has had this problem since I first started it. Whenever I boot the computer with the AC adapter and battery both connected, it tells me that my battery's energy levels are depleting and that there are no signs of an AC adapter being connected. The AC adapter however works perfectly fine when I use it on another computer and perfectly fine when I run my laptop with just the AC adapter as the sole power source. I contacted HP about this issue via chat and was given another battery. However, this battery did nothing to change the situation at hand. Should I assume that this second battery is also defected, or is this more likely a problem with my BIOS, or something of that nature? Thanks for any help in this matter whatsoever.

A:Battery Will Not Charge (ProBook 4530s)

This sounds more like a problem with a mismatched power adapter or a battery controller on the motherboard. What is the wattage on the ac adapter you're using?

Here is the Service Manual: Manual It appears you can install an i7-2670QM Quad Core, but we have had several reports of no go situations when people try to upgrade what had been a dual core to a Quad Core. I suggest if you really want to do it, you stick with the i7-2620M dual core, which would be a significant upgrade from any of the i3 models.  Post back with any more questions.  https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-2620M-SR03F-Dual-core-Processor/dp/B00PJQE8ZI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid...  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.
