I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi iyyappan_3,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
First make sure that the Audio driver and the dolby will be in sync.
Open Device Manager
Uninstall the Audio Device Under Sound and gaming controllers / Make sure to place a check in the Delete driver software prompt.

Now make sure you don't have any dolby components
Proceed to Control Panel / Programs / Uninstall a Program
Uninstall all Dolby Related programs
Restart if Prompted
Now install this software driver

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/audio142w81.exe
When you install this software it will show you a directory path whre it will extract, Make sure to Remember the path

This next xtep is important

Open the directory path where the Audio driver installer extracted the Audio driver.

Check all the folders inside it and find the Dolby Installers, Install the Dolby either Advanced audio or Digital plus.

ANd you should now get your dolby back

Hope this helps
Cheers!

Hi,I'm now using Ideapad Z510. After upgraded to Windows 8.1. I'd went to the Lenovo website searching for new driver update. But, after i install the "Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.7023", the "Dolby Home Theater V4" is not running(audio sound not playing through). And, the "Dolby Digital Plus" is running instead of "Dolby Home Theater V4".Then, when I try to reinstall the older version "Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.6954" from Lenovo website, the "Dolby Home Theater V4" is running again.Truly, the "Dolby Digital Plus"'s sound is crisper and louder than "Dolby Home Theater V4". But the sound of "Dolby Home Theater V4" has more bass and more function (like Graphic Equalizer, more Intelligent Equalizer etc.).Is this an update or what? What should I choose? The newer driver (for Windows 8.1) or older driver (for Dolby Home Theater V4)?  Thanks. (confused now) @@

I have noticed that the Dolby Audio application keeps switching back to the "Voice" preset regardless of what I do or how many times I try to change it. I have opened up the Dolby Audio app itself and changed to a different preset as well as using the Lenovo Settings app to set the "Dynamic" preset as my default, but after some time I find that the settings will always get reverted back to "Voice" again. In addition to these steps I have also tried updating my audio drivers to the most recent version, but this actually caused the Dolyb Audio app to be completely removed from my machine only to be brought back by first performing a System Restore and then performing a "Repair" operation from the "Uninstall or Change A Program" screen.I finally located the original Dolby Audio X2 Windows API SDK and Dolby Audio X2 Windows APP installation media (located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Realtek\Audio\DAX2", not contained in the "LENOVO" hard drive partition which contains all other system drivers) and was able to update my driver and re-install the Dolby software to get it operational again, but the problem of switching profiles persists. How do I prevent this profile switching, or is it possible to configure the Dolby Audio application to select a profile based on the application that is running? I find having to manually switch my sound profile back to the "Dynamic" preset a pain.

A:Dolby advanced audio disappeared from my acer v5 notebook

If you have an available System Restore point that is BEFORE whatever you did, that should get it back (the "problem" will also be back after the system restore).

If you don't have a system restore point (and you should), check the PC vendor's downloads, in this case Acer, and get what you need.

Hello everyone, I have a question about my audio driver.I've bought a new headphone but there wasn't much bass when using with my laptop (with Conexant as the audio driver). On my phone, the headset's audio is completely fine (with bass of course). I had a Conexant audio driver and searched on the internet on how to improve the audio. I searched for some tutorials and found a new driver called High Defenition Audio Device by Microsoft. So I updated the driver and now it's High Defenition Audio Device. And my headphone audio has slightly improved. However, the "Dolby" tab (Sounds > Playback > Speakers > "Dolby" tab) is now gone! And my computer sounds like an old radio (no bass, only mid/high frequency really)... Is it possible to get Dolby back? Or is Dolby not compatible with the High Defenition Audio Device driver by Microsoft? I've tried the Lenovo Vantage and saw Dolby options, but they don't work anymore too... Thanks in advance. Kind regards,iiSnewoNL

Hello. I've been looking for a solution for several days with no success so I decided to create my own thread. I've recently bought the G50-80 laptop. I performed a fresh install of win 7 Ultimate x64 on it and I downloaded and installed the most recent drivers from lenovo website. The problem is that Dolby surround sound is not working. The profile selector shows up properly and the equalizer works properly as well but surround virtualizer does nothing, ticking and unticking it does nothing as well as changing the level. My sound quality is at 24bit 44100 khz and I also own Creative Aurvana Live headphones which work just fine on my PC and surround works perfectly. My Conexant drivers are also up to date so the only thing that comes to my mind is that the new Conexant drivers are somewhat broken. Please help, I bought this laptop specifically because it was supposed to have surround sound and it's not working ;-;

Windows 10.  model 10a7-ct01ww carbon X1. The dolby digital plus turns itself off.  This started maybe two months ago?  I lost the Dolby back in September with another Windows update and got it back. I have noticed that if you have it in the foreground it seems to stay on better.  If you do anything with the laptop, it turns off.  Sometimes minimized it will hold being "on". I do have a OneLink Pro Dock.  The lenove solution center is no longer seeing the audio in the dock, i just noticed!  However "Speakers" shows both ports.  I use the port on the laptop to connect to speakers and hearing aid gear (realteck Hig Definition Audio).  I believe Windows has set the drivers to "Audio Endpoint"...? I have tried to re-install the Realtek drivers (which brings down the Dolby), which did not help. I need the Sound Virtualizer, Dialog Enhancer, and Volume leveler funtions as I am hard of hearing.  Sorry to post a new thread on the Dolby issue but there are so mnay hits.... Thanks for the suggestions, help and maybe a FIX  d

Do we have to wait for an updated driver? I have sound, but not sure what driver it's using. (haven't even found drivers yet) Another issue I discovered is that I couldn't turn off the touch pad using Fn+F6. The Elan driver settings do have a box to disable the touch pad when using an external pointing device, though, so that's not a major issue.

Hi UpstateBodhi,

Thanks for Posting!

Here is the guide to fix the Dolby
First Remove all  Audio Driver and Dolby software from your device.

1. Press the Windows key? +R, type appwiz.cpl.msc and press Enter. On the list of installed programs, remove anything that relates toRealtek Audio Driver or Conexant  and Dolby (reboot if necessary).

2. Delete the C:\Drivers folder Install this audio driver back
https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/audio134w81.exe

3. Open Device Manager > Sound, video, and game controllers and check if the High Definition Audio becomes Realtek High Definition Audio or Conexant High Definition Audio (this indicates that the sound driver is installed properly).

When the audio driver is properly installed, install the DolbyAdvancedAudio and the DolbyHomeTheater from the following path:

For Realtek:
C:\Drivers\Audio\Realtek\6.0.1.6957\PCEE4

For Conexant:

This instructions are from Answers.Microsoft, but didn't work.

Open Device Manager. (Right-click on the Start button and choose Device Manager).
Expand the Sound, Video and Games Controllers section.
Right Click on the Conexant Smart Audio HD item and choose Uninstall.
Still in Device Manager, click on Action>Scan for new Hardware.
The Conexant Smart Audio item will re-appear.
Right-Click on it and choose update driver.
Navigate to d:\drivers\audio.
When that's done, close Device Manager.
Open File Manager and navigate to D:\drivers\Audio\DolbyGUI and install Dolby Home Theater.

These instructions are from Lenovo and didn't work.

A:help! Dolby Audio Driver not working after 8.1 update

I would try installing it in a compatibility mode and see if that helps.

I have a recording studio, and I'm seeing reports that many audio devices will not work with 8.1. I have a Roland Octa-Capture which is a USB connected recording interface unit and fortunately Roland had an 8.1 driver update. I've also seen some registry tweaks to make devices work in 8.1.

You may have to wait for Lenovo to issue an new 8.1 version.

IdeaPAD 310-15, came with Windows 10How do I install Dolby Advanced Audio on this machine?Supposedly has Dolby audio - but the interface doesn't look like the interface for Dolby Advanced Audio and the equalizer doesn't do anything. Also, in the list under Windows Control Panel items, it lists "Dolby Audio" and not "Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio".Have installed the latest audio driver from Lenovo. Also tried deleting everything related to Conexant and Dolby and reinstalling the driver from Lenovo, as suggested for a different model on this forum. Nothing changed. Also tried downloading the Windows 7 driver - it would not install - says "PCEE needs to be installed".Is there any point in pursuing this or should I just give up?

I have a ThinkPad X1 Carbon 4th Generation about 16 months old running Windows 10 V1709 16299.309. It is using Audio Driver 66.62.50 which is older than dirt.  If I do a Windows 10 Repair Install directly to 16299.309, the audio driver does not work properly but has to be reinstalled to work properly.  V1803 is out in 2 weeks (thereabouts).  Will the current Dolby Driver worr in V1803? Have you tested it?Have you done a repair install with V1803?  And did the audio driver survive the repair install? I have a ThinkPad X230 which does not have Dolby and is already running V1803 (Insider).  Other newer ThinkPads with Dolby have newer Dobly Drivers.  Is my ThinkPad X1 doomed to become an orphan with no sound?  Thank you for any assistance that Lenovo Staff might possibly be able to provide

Hi! My notebook ( Acer Aspire V15 V5-591G-5014) came preinstalled with Dolby Digital by standard, but I had to reinstall my sound driver and I can't find a way to install Dolby Digital. I really love the way it transforms the sound of the notebook's speakers so I really would like to have the software. Any suggestions?

Hello, recently, I have installed a clean Windows 10 installation (I formatted the entire drive) and I ran into a problem: I can not find the Dolby driver anywhere on the internet, Lenovo support included.Dolby did miracles on Windows 8.1, so I find this as an important issue, because it improved my audio in different positions of the Yoga. Without it, it just simply sounds crap. So, where can I download it?

My laptop is Thinkpad T480, core i 7, 32GB RAM with Nvidia and 1 TB SSD. Initially I have Dolby Digital Advanced Audio(DDAA) Profile Editor as desktop short-cut ( the editor has a graphic equalizer which can be edited). But after the windows Update, the DDAA profile editor has been disspaeared. I uninstall the audio driver, restart and then again install Audio driver from Lenovo website but the editor did not appear. Even in the C drive , I tried to retrieve but failed. Then I go to Lenovo VANTAGE app and found this. Here, the mode can be changed but there is no graphical equalizer like DDAA editor. What's is the solution of this problem?
