Lenovo P50 warranty simply dissapeared from lenovo website.

Q: Lenovo P50 warranty simply dissapeared from lenovo website.

So a few months ago i bought a used lenovo P50. 32 gigs of ram, 6820hq, Quadro M2000M. I'm using it as a daily workstation. I payed quiet a bit for it but it's a good machine and i'm generally happy with it. Of course, one of the reasons i payed well for it was that it had almost 2 years of top notch international warranty remaining. It came from a German company, has been bought for company use in a big pack of maybe 50 or more pieces. When i was buying it i checked the international warranty using the machines serial number. The lenovo website said i have more then 500days of warranty remaining. So i bought the machine and have been using it since then. Recently i tought that i was having problems with a malufunctioning USB port. Turned out it was my USB drive, not the port. But since i was thinking about RMAing it, not knowing that the port is actually fine. I went checking how much warranty i have got left. (This was about 3 months after i bought the machine). So i come to the lenovo warranty check, type my serial number in and a nice suprise is waiting for me there. Warranty status: expired, 0 days left. Together with the text: This machine was sold by the manufacturer without warranty. Claims for warranty service will be rejected by the manufacturer.Origin: Factory Warranty So okay lenovo, i understand that sometimes you sell machines with no warranty because the reseller is going to give it or whatever. But how the hell can you think it's okay leaving the the wrong warranty info on the "warranty check" part of your website for almost 18 months, and then just all of the sudden you change the info overnight and my machine has no warranty now? I wouldn't pay nearely as much for it if i had this info! Reselling laptops is a legal thing, how was i supposed to know that the machine will just loose the warranty out of nowhere? What the .... ?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am totally disappointed in Lenovo's customer support. My lenovo 710s was bought less than 1 year ago (as of 10/6/2017, when I sent it in for repairs) and had 2 years warranty (1+1 year of extended warranty). I sent my laptop for repair due to a white spot issue on the monitor, affecting viewing of webpages and videos. However, the laptop was returned after 3 weeks without any fixes/repairs, as Lenovo claimed that it was a cosmetic issue. I wrote a message on their customer care website on 3/7/2017. However, they ignored me and there was no reply to date.  I thought Lenovo is a reliable and popular brand. However, it turned out to be a horrible decision, much to my dismay!

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Can you check if the bluetooth complete disapear from the list, or if it shows some yellow warning sign when the issue appear.

Please check which bluetooth model do you have installed, on the support site for your model there are two bluetooth drivers:

2) Intel Bluetooth Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Yoga 710-14IKB, Yoga 710-15IKB

Hi All, I purchased a Lenovo G40-45 Laptop last year, which is under warranty till 16th July, 2016. It was purchased in India, however I have since relocated to Dubai, UAE. I would like to know if the warranty for this laptop is valid internationally? I recently faced a problem where the laptop would turn off arbitarily during use, and on one instance it refused to come back on again. I referred it to the local Lenovo Service Centre (Dubai, UAE) and was told that the motherboard is to be replaced. They took the laptop and invoice and kept it for over 10 days, and have now reverted saying that they are unable to obtain the required part. They claim that this model is not available in the UAE, and hence cannot be serviced here. However, a quick search of the Lenovo UAE website reveals that the model is very much available in this country: Lenovo G40 Will appreciate if someone from Lenovo can clarify on this? Happy to share additional details if required.

Hi sheilamae19 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Conditions that can cover it if you got ADP (Accidental Damage Protection) warranty included (with additional charge) on the laptop aside from the standard Limited Standard Warranty .

The limited warranty only covers functionality issue on the machine or devices therein but would not cover user induced damage .

With an ADP : WHAT?S TYPICALLY COVERED? Accidental drops, spills, bumps, and structural failures incurred under normal operating conditions or handling, including electrical surges and damage to the integrated LCD screen

You can check your warranty here.

Hope this help answer your query.

So this computer is less then a year old, bought it in august 2014.The A key fell off while I was using the computer. I was not able to reattach the key. After talking to the support at the store where I bought it, they said to send it in for repair. I did and now Medion who handle the repairs for Lenovo want me to pay for a new keyboard and labor.I have photographic evidence of the state of the computer before I send it in. Not a scratch on it. Does Lenovo not have warranty on laptop keyboards?  Is there any written document with information on how long the estimated life span of a Lenovo keyboard is? What parts of the laptop are under warranty? Thanks.

A:Lenovo Y50-70 keyboard warranty

You can read through the warranty book but I dont think it will ever mention about specific parts warranty -
https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_y40-70_y40-80_y50-70_y50-80_y50-70%20touch_y...

However, your keyboard should be covered by warranty unless ofcourse there is visible proof of mishandling of the laptop.

You can call Lenovo customer sevice and talk to a supervisor. This is not the official Lenovo forum and I believe you need to talk to a Lenovo rep.

I purchased a Yoga 720 15" 2in1 three weeks ago and I am trying to decide if, when, and the type of warranty extentions I should get.I can add the " products " to the cart but I can not find the small print anywhere.  IF I decide to get additional coverage I would likely go for the maximum available but I want to know what the coverage is prior to purchasing it. I have two options available in addition to the levono warranty and  want to choose wisely. As it is I have over 11 months* remaining on the warranty but I think adding accidental coverage and on site service may be a good investment because I will be traveling with this laptop and I might be at the other side of the country if it breaks.I would appreciate advice on this topic. * I purchased it on 7/3/2017 and the start date for my warranty shows as 6/22/2017. Not sure what that is all about.

Hello everyone! My Lenovo Y50-70 has been performing very well so far. It's been almost two years now and it still runs very smoothly. I used to play games which were making the keyboard corpuss reach average temperatures. It was actually quite pleasant during winter. Due to the heat "a" and "s" keys have popped out and I barely managed to get the "a" one back. Didn't have the same luck with the "s" though. I damaged the corpuss of the keyboard. I do have a warranty coverage which includes accidental drop and spill as well. The problem is I can't find the warranty card and my question is: Is it possible to get a copy of it so I can claim my warranty and have my laptop fixed? And if so what would the procedure look like? Who do I contact? The service provider here in Bulgaria won't take my laptop unless I have the warranty card. The laptop was bought from the USA. Thank you!

Hi i've a warranty for my Lenovo that states I get onsite, 5 x 9, NBD service. I have placed a case over a week ago and there is still no visit from anyone. Any correspondance has to come from me. I've been on 3 or 4 chats asking for some sort of communication back as to what is taking so long and been promised call backs and received none. I've filed seperate complaints with BBB and Consumer Affairs as I'm sick of this service. It's really been horrible. First I was told there was no NBD service but got talking to Sales who confirmed I have 9x5, onsite, NBD service. What possibly else can I do to get my laptop which is down for over a week fixed as per my warranty that I paid a premium for?

I have not seen an easy way to give general customer feedback to Lenovo through their website or other e-mail address and I see that chat support is offine during the weekend so I am going to post this here in hopes that a Lenovo rep will see this and feed it back to the apporiate group for review. I would think that an easy way for customers to give feedback would be good but that does not seem to be in the cards right now at Lenovo. I bought a new Lenovo 910 on 2/12/2017 from Best Buy and exactly 2 months later on 4/12/2017 I saw that the system would not charge and eventually the computer completly died. I was very lucky to have noticed that it was not charging as normal and was able to do a backup to make I sure I did not lose my data. I was definetly at risk of data loss there. I have never had an experience with any system in the 20+ years I've had a system where a system dies in 2 months from purchase. Something is not right with that. But stuff happens and you have to deal- so my bigger concern is below. I was advised that this system has a depot repair warranty and that it would take 3 WEEKS to repair. I mean seriously? I just can't imagine that any Lenovo exec could really think that leaving a user without a PC for 3 weeks after having it crash on them is acceptable. And no alternate solution was offered to me- even for an extra fee. There needs to be some type of warning about this when the system is purchased. It would be good to get this throu... Read more

I'm trying to ascertain the warranty status of my Lenovo X1 Carbon, which was purchased second hand recently here in the UK. Inputting the serial number into the online system suggests that the machine still has warranty until 28/01/2019. But since I am not the original owner, will I still be covered by this warranty? I had thought that the warranty goes with the machine, until checking over the phone earlier today, when the agent suggested that I would need the original invoice/proof of purchase to be covered by the warranty. I had not thought that this was the case, and that I did not need documentation to claim the warranty. Could someone clarify this issue for me please? I have been trying to contact Lenovo by phone again for confirmation but their system appears to be down (I just get cut off every time).

Greetings, My Lenovo Y50 (i7 4720HQ, GTX 960M, Touch Screen) just failed five days ago. It was not a result of misuse (as far as I know), mistreatment, or accidental damage. Either the RAM, the Graphics Card, or the screen is defective. The screen, suddenly, out of seemingly nowhere, started showing distorted colors. Everything white is a light tint of green, and there are red vertical slopes appearing and disappearing across the screen. The laptop is effectively done and ready to be replaced. I have had the laptop for approximately 5-6 months. Definitely less than a year. I bought it at Best Buy in the United States and know that it is covered by a 1 year manufacturer warranty. Unfortunately, the laptop broke down in the Czech republic, where I reside. Now the question is, is the Lenovo Y50 covered by International Warranty Service? I would look myself, but I do not have access to the serial number at this time. I would like to visit a Lenovo store in Prague to turn in my laptop. I know the Y50 is sold and supported in this country for sure. So if I bring it to the store, will they repair/replace it for me? Or do I have to send it all the way back to Best Buy? Or is my laptop no longer covered, since it broke in a foreign country? I also opened the back once. I didn't move or remove any of the components, only the cover. I needed to clean the air vents. No damage was caused during the cleaning. None at all. But I'm not sure if opening the back voids warra... Read more

Very disappointed in Lenovo after warranty service!  Yoga 920 with 4K display is only 1-1/2 years old from manufacturing date, and just stopped working.  The Microsoft store concierge store sent the machine to Lenovo, and I was expecting a factory repair, along with a bill.  Boy was I disappointed! Returned to Microsoft with Lenovo declining to estimate the repair cost, and possibly repair the machine.  Instead, they declined service at any cost!  No abuse, no liquid spills, just a machine that developed some motherboard problem!  Has Lenovo ever considered standing behind their products, and servicing them (at reasonable cost).  Instead, they refer me to factory authorized providers, and I get quoted over $1200 for a motherboard replacement! I know other manufacturers offer post warranty service, and some even offer flat rate repairs so long as abuse is not evident!  Very disappointed in what I thought was a top tier PC manufacturer.

They called me 10 days latter and when I checked the laptop the problem still exist I went to them again and they kept it for 10 more days and called me again. That problem still exists and I showed them before receiving the laptop but the refused to do anything excusing it is an software issue. I know exactly what is the issue here. The graphics card gtx 860m is created the issue here. Sometime I when install driver, keep the task manager open, run a video player, run game and program like photoshop using graphics card  it freeze or crash regardless of driver and Windows version. I am using the laptop for almost 3 year, changing windows, drivers, fixing small software errors all by myself. If it is a software issue I would not be knocking service center twice in a month. Now the question is, I explain them the issue as well as show them the problem is, how come they make excuse and not fix fix the issue?
