Yoga 12 (Type 20DK) Touch ignores first input.

Q: Yoga 12 (Type 20DK) Touch ignores first input.

Hello. My problem can be seen here. Ignore my commentary.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7la_0KObbc I have an issue with my touchscreen consistently, frequently, taking anywhere from 2-15 (!) taps to regonize input. Once it does, it latches on immediately and functions until I begin using the KB/Mouse for some time. If I drag my finger, it recognizes it immediately, but it can sometimes take 1-5 inches of movement before it starts to recognize input. Suggestions welcomed. I'm willing to try anything at this point, including replacing the whole display assembly. I have tried:Windows touch calibrationDisabling Wacom flicksClearing any calibrationsBrand new OS installThis issue is somewhat/slightly present in OS installers - a la, before Windows 10 loads...Disabling USB Power Management on the USB Touchscreen as well as the Wacom device.Disabled USP Selective Suspend in power options.Updated to latest BIOS (Date September of 2016)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey to everyone. I have a question since lenovo seems to lack on a informations when it comes to this. I bought a used X220 and cant identify if it should be multitouch or pen input only model. Screen part number is (according to lenovo page):04W3462Model Number is 42962WUTouchscreen with finger doesnt work ( if it has any).I dont have a pen (stylus) currently since it was not provided with laptop BUT:Windows in properties says : No pen or touch input is available for this display .Reinstalled windows freshly twice along with drivers (once manually downloaded , second time used Lenovo System update)Still says the same, and there is no tablet or pen and touch settings in control panel. In some other topics , someone suggested to similar problem as a solution installing wacom pen drivers, lenovo digitizer drivers etc.Tried provided drivers , and with every driver throws the same error : a supported tablet was not found on the systemMaybe it has to detect pen near the laptop and it should be fine?Did I just got ripped off? Thanks a bunch!

Ok, so the lcd is definitely multitouch , which is now a reason to concern .Basically , windows recognize it as a laptop, no hid touch input devices in device manager whatsoever. Is this a common issue? Tryed unpluging and plugging back in LCD micro cables but nothing.

Hello, I use online accounting software (KashFlow) and part of entering invoices involves clicking into a date input field.  It is one of those where a little calendar shows when you click into the field.  You can also manually type a date into this field too. However. On my brand new Yoga 920 using Chrome and Firefox the date input fields are greyed out and a red 'no access' icon shows when you hover over them.  But you can still click it and the calendar pops up as normal.  The only difference is you can NOT type into them anymore. When the source for the page is viewed it looks like the fields have been designated 'readonly'. There is no such problem on any other computer I own, even when using Chrome or Firefox.  The date fields work perfectly well on these other computers - even on a Sony Xperia tablet I own. The only browser that works properly on my Yoga is Edge.  The date fields work as they should.  It's just Chrome (my main browser) and Firefox where they don't work. This seems like a Lenovo-based problem.  A little Google has revealed a couple of similar problems with other Lenovo users. Does anyone have any clue on how to fix this?  This is utterly bizarre behaviour and it's preventing me from working properly. I have attached a photo showing the problem when using Chrome.  These fields should never be greyed out. Thanks,Matt

I'm truly at my ends dealing with this issue, and searching without luck for a fix. As stated above, I've got a 2015 era Lenovo Yoga 12 (S2?) 20DK that has been used on and off over the last 18 months. About 6 months ago it started; while flipping the screen from laptop mode to tablet mode, the screen will flicker a few times and after completing the transition to tablet the screen is off. Won't power up, nothing. Now during the act of flipping to tablet mode I can stop at certain points before folding it totally flat into tablet mode, and it will work fine (keyboard/mouse disabled, screen rotation works). There seems to be a sweet spot at about a 45 degree angle in tablet mode that it works fine. Even like that, if I even bump it a little more towards full on flipped back tablet mode, it'll shutdown. I've just been ignoring the problem for the most part but for a new job I started I need it to go into full tablet mode. Everything works fine in traditional Laptop Mode. I've tried updating the Driver, BIOS, and Windows.I've disabled the Sensor Data Service and Sensor Monitoring ServiceTried using a strong magnet on different points around bottom of bezel to "fool" any sensors Nothing is working. My gut always assumed this was hardware related due to a bad sensor of some sort but I cant find anything close to this issue using Google-Fu. Wondering if anyone can assist.  Upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago and the touch screen was working fine and within the last month it stopped functioning.  I have googled many help topics, and many suggest that I access my Device manager and click on the Human Interface Devices section find  HID-compliant touch screen.  The only problem is the HID-compliant touch screen is not listed as an option.  Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this issue?

Hey all, I've been having this issue for a while in OneNote and Drawboard (because it happens in these 2 applications I believe it's a platform=laptop issue and not applications):1. I put annotations on top of PDF printouts in OneNote and in Drawboard PDF using my pen in tablet-like keyboard position2. Right after that touch input stops working for a while, as if it was not touch-enabled device. After 5-15 secs it comes back to life3. This issue does not reproduce when keyboard is in laptop position Has anyone had a similar issue on the same laptop/other Lenovo laptops? My system is a BestBuy-specific sister version of Yoga 14". Thanks,Danil

Hi all, got a problem that is annoying the h*ll out of me.My Yoga 3 Pro recently did some windows 10 updates, and since this happened it now goes to sleep after a short period of time irrespective of the Windows power settings. It does this whether it is on battery or on charge, no settings seem to have any effect.I have tried all the usual solutions/fixes found by searching on the net including resetting the power/sleep modes to default; uninstalling/reinstalling OKO and the Windows updates; updating all the drivers to the latest versions available.None of these have sorted the problem, so if anybody out there has any ideas - please let me know! System info: Yoga 3 Pro 1370, Intel 5Y70 CPU, running Windows 10 Home V1607 Build 14393.321 (upgraded from Win8.1 approx. 6 months ago) TIASteve

I've been fiddling with this on and off for months, but I don't  know if the problem is with the touchscreen, Windows 10, the drivers, my software, or some combination of those, so none of my troubleshooting has really gotten me anywhere. I bought the Flex 5 and the active pen intending to use the touch screen like a Cintiq monitor, in addition to the Huion graphics tablet I already own, but any pen input just reacts like touch input, making imposible to work comfortably in any painting/animation programs. I also can't figure out a setup that will let me use the active pen and my tablet at the same time; Huion and Wacom drivers don't seem to play nice with each other, so I can't have them both installed at once if I want either of them to be recognized in my software and have pressure sensitivity. I have turned off "tablet mode" in Settings, and in the Control Panel I've disabled "Flicks" and "press-and-hold to right-click". Regardless, using either the active pen or my tablet (which doesn't even interact with the touch screen) will make my computer react like I'm using my finger -- same visual feedback, press-and-hold still right-clicks, dragging with the pen will scroll around the webpage/canvas, etc. Depending on the software I'm using and which drivers are currently installed I can sometimes draw and get pressure sensitivity, but I'll still keep accidentally triggering touch commands with the pen that interrupt my work flow. Even if it's at the cost of touc... Hello, My Thinkpad Yoga is connected to a large display through ThenkPad docking station.  Its lid is closed.   During my work, from time to time I see random touch clicks on my screen, and random opening of menus.  It is clear that the touch screen is active although the lid is closed.  When I open the lid, and still connected just to the 2nd display (large screen) display the phenomena stops.  Worth noting is that although only the 2nd display shows an image, the laptop touch screen is still sensetive to touch.  This is I guess why the random touches show up on the screen -- it feels the keyboard not fingers. I expect the touch screen to be disabled while the lid is closed or when projecting only to the 2nd screen.  The solution of opening the lid while connected to the docking station is not acceptable.  Lenovo's local support suggestion to disable touch for the Yoga is also not acceptable -- people purchase Yoga to get Touch.   A solution please! Yaron

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. I had no luck trying driver versions 7.3.3.12, 7.3.4.8 and 7.3.4.13. I would really appreciate your help since this issue makes working in the tablet position... Read more

Hello Dws520Thanks for using the Lenovo forums. Was this the creators update?
If so, have a look on the following post, this should show if your device has been tested with the update yet:
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht503655

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... I'm not sure when the issue occurred - likely from the upgrade from 8.1 to 10. My touchscreen has stopped responding to touch and is unrecognized by the system as one. Under "Pen and Touch" Settings, the system tells me that No pen or touch input is available for the display. Here are the steps I have taken so far and none have resolved the issue:  Checked the device manager for HID-compliant devices and driver updatesRemoved HID-compliant devices and restartedUpdated the computer's chipset driversReset BIOS settings to defaultsRestored the computer to factory settings (removed all programs and reset to defaults This happened after I sent my computer into Lenovo to have them fix a constant flickering screen. The process took them 2 - 3 months and they NEVER sent me one communication message. Not only that but when I put my computer's serial number into their online support to try to contact them online, I get a message stating that nothing with that S/N is in their records. I bought the computer with their best warranty so I know that isn't true. I'm worried that they replaced the screen with a non-touch enabled one, but I use my computer for work and there's no way I'm ever sending it back to them after that horrendous experience. Is there a way that I can check to ensure my monitor is the right one? Or, are there any other steps I can take to troubleshoot the touch capabilities?

I recently got this device with no harddrive. I installed one and booted windows 8.1. It installed just fine and works great for the most part. But the touchscreen is not recognized. I know that being a new harddrive, the computer probably wouldn't recognize it right off the bat without further installation of something. I installed all of the drivers from Lenovo Downloads for the device. Most of them were fine, but using the touchscreen firmware driver gets me nowhere, saying that there is no controller recognized in this system. It also says that this upgrade may not apply to my system.

If I have a touchscreen, how can i make a fresh install of Windows 8.1 recognize it?

Hello, I recently bought a HP Envy M7 Smart Touch Energy Saver laptop, after a month of using it I just became so irritated by Windows 10 constantly freezing or apps crashing (due to compatibility).  So I Installed Windows 8.1 In order to maintain the touch screen interface in the laptop, after I installed windows 8.1 I downloaded all of the drivers available for my Laptop, after updating every single aspect, my Windows System Information states "No Pen or Touch Input", I cannot seem to find any touch screen drivers in the HP website and there are some drivers in Device Manager with an exclamation mark as "Unknown Devices", I've enabled view hidden devices and there's no sign of any touch screen driver. I made a component test in UFI to see if there was a faulty with the touch screen and there's not, it's just a driver compatibility issue. Any help? Please and thank you

Basically, nothing happens when I click on them. For the record, I use the latest 1st Security Agent's Safe Web Browser and Kaspersky Internet Security.

I tried setting the account to Administrator, problem persists.
I tried pausing Kaspersky, problem persists.
I tried enabling everything under 1st Security Agent, problem persists.

The strange thing is, I can browse without problem using that browser on my main account. I hope someone can help me pinpoint the problem.

I normally use FireFox as my browser and it works fine (as does Chrome). If I bring up the Metro version of IE 11, I can enter text fine.

Anybody got any ideas how to fix this? It's not a big deal since I rarely use IE but it bugs me now that I know about it. I just checked on a netbook I upgraded and don't see the issue there.

Everytime, when I am moving from one place to another I have to turn the keyboard around, rather than simply put it into the standby mode by turning off the screen, like I do with my tablets or phones. Till now I fought that setting the power button to turn on and off the screen should act like the standby mode, but when I hit the power button and the screen goes off, it still turns on by touching it. I am not interested in putting the laptop into the sleep mode, as I am using it to different situations and it is to slow to wake up a machine from it. I would be suprised if there would not be any way to enable the standby mode in my TPY like it works with other tablets/phones.

I have an Acer Aspire M computer with a touch screen that runs Windows 8.1. I was having issues with the touch screen, so I went to download the drivers from the Acer website. However, when I restarted my computer to complete the installation, it wouldn't allow me to use either the mouse, touch screen, or keyboard.
Normally, after loading, a personalized picture will appear on the screen, displaying the time, connectibility, and strength of the network. The user is then supposed to swipe up, click on, or press space to move the picture, at which point the login screen appears. My computer loads normally when starting, but won't allow me to use the mouse, touch screen, or keyboard to move the picture out of the way, so I cannot access the login screen.
I have already contacted the Acer company support and attempted to use the battery reset pinhole, but to no avail. Is there anything I can do, besides a factory reset or using it as a cat bed?

A:No touch, mouse, or keyboard input after computer reset

using it as a cat bed

Probably best.

You could uninstall those drivers, looks like you will need to do it from outside windows.

You would need a decent winpe., which you probably don't have, nigh on impossible to make one given your situation.

System restore to just before the problem may do the job.

Try that and see.

Hi guys, just wondering if you can please help me? Sorry if this message is a little messy, but I'm typing it into the address bar and right click pasting it into the message input box within the browser. For some reason I can only type into the adress bar on my browser. I can't type into any fields within the window itself. I discovered this whilst on Youtube this evening. I've never had this problem before. I'm currently using Opera with Windows 8, but have not been able to find a solution online. Any help wouldbe appriciated thanks.

Hi, was wondering if I could get some help maybe? My Dell laptop (Windows 8) used to prompt me to select the type of audio device I was inserting into the audio jack (i.e. Skullcandy earbuds, over the ear headphones, gaming headphones) and then hit accept, but then one day within the last few months the pop-up box that appeared when I plugged something into the jack suddenly stopped appearing; I'm afraid I may have pressed the "do not show this box" button by accident one time but I really don't remember. I'm mostly just trying to re-enable the prompt, but I'm not really computer savvy and I can't find it in the audio options anywhere! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:No longer prompted to selected audio input type?

Control Panel  -->  Sounds --> Playback  [I have Windows 7, your 8 may word it differently]  might be what you're wanting.

Got my Spectre X360 15.6 2017 edition few days ago and immediately notice this very annoying issue. In short, the touch function is disabled for about 2 seconds after using the pen, which means everytime when you finish writing something with the pen, you have to wait for about 2 seconds before the touch screen responds to your finger input.  This is really annoying, it slows down my workflow dramatically. And I have never experienced this kind of issue before on any other devices using NTrig digitizer, and I have used a lot NTrig devices (Fujistu 550, HTC Flyer, Sony Vaio Duos, Vaio Flips, Microsoft Surfaces). But I did noticed similar issues on some Wacom AES devices like the Thinkpad Yoga 14. I do remember HP mentioned somewhere that the pen uses Universal Windows Pen protocol, Is this part of the new protocol? Anyway, please please please, HP! Fix this problem and release a firmware update ASAP, I really like the Spectre X360, You guys did a good job in general, but this is a deal breaker, I would hate to send it back.

Hello, I can't find what type of ram comes standard inside of my Lenovo Y50-70 4k UHD - no touch. I would like to upgrade and from what I have read it's best to stick with the same brands as whatever came in the machine. I'm by no means a hardware type of guy so I know very little when it comes to this other than I want to go from 8gb to 16gb. Also from my understanding the maximum supported RAM is 16gb right?

A:What type of RAM is OEM in my Lenovo Y50-70 4k UHD *not touch*

Hi maxshuty,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Yes, maximum RAM supported is 16GB.

Specifications declared from your hardware manual for this model :
DDR3L-1,600 MHz SODIMM 2 (max 16 GB)

You have 2 slots for the RAM so 2 pieces of 8 GB DDR3 L (low voltage) 1,600 MHz SODIMM would work best for your machine.

OEM certified RAM here on page 91 item 11 :

11 RAM, Hyn HMT41GS6AFR8A-PB DDR3L 1600 8GB Part Number: 11201301 11 RAM, SK HMT41GS6BFR8A-PB/RD 8GB DDR3L 1600 Part Number: 1120270711 RAM, M471B1G73DB0-YK0 25nm 8GB DDR3L 1600 Part Number: 1120208211 RAM, RMT3160ME68FAF-1600 8GB DDR3L 1600 Part Number: 1120245011 RAM, Mic MT16KTF1G64HZ-1G6E1 DDR3L 1600 8GB Part Number: 11201304

Page 46 of the manual describes the steps on replacing the memory.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Hello!

I have a fairly serious issue on my hands.

2 days ago, my computer decided to stop taking input from anything (mouse, keyboard, and touch). I am unable to do anything past the Windows splash screen. Going into the BIOS shows that the computer is working normally, and my mouse, keyboard and touch screen work there without issues. I really hope I can get this thing working again, as I haven't backed up files to a cloud. Please help ASAP as I need my PC running!

Specs:

2012 ASUS Mobo
Intel i3-3200

Any help is appreciated!

A:ASUS PC Takes NO User Input (Keyboard, Mouse, and Touch disabled?)

When it crashes, does it respond to CD-ROM button or power button? Also, does a reboot fix it?

Last, what model computer is it exactly? Looks like a all-in-one.

Hi all, I'm happy with the general touch functionality of my device (using my fingers), but when I use the pen for writing or drawing (in Reader, Drawboard PDF, Word), the input often stops while I'm still drawing a line. I then have to lift the pen up and make contact between the pen tip and the display again. Then, it usually works for some fractions of an inch before it stops again.  Is there a solution to that behavior? Thanks!

I have browsed through this forum archives and I see many users running into similar Touchscreen Ghost Input problem. I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 13 with the very same problem. Unfortunately, the solutions mentioned so far are for other models, with a different Display Unit (LG). My Lenovo Yoga 2 13 came with a AUO display. My product is still under warranty and I've raised a support request too. But could the forum admins here, who helped the other Lenovo Yoga series users, help me with a fix ?

Here is how the problem appeared:1. I received a new 20FQCTO1WW. First-time booted fine, touch and pen were working at this time.2. Repartitioned the drive and installed Windows (10 pro, the retail version)3. Installed wifi driver from Lenovo support page (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-...)4. Installed Lenovo System Update and used that to get all the drivers, etc. At this point device manager shows nothing missing, I see all touch screen, pen, Wacom device and all the things but touchpad and pen input doesn't register anything.  I suspect firmware/driver issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Just as a side note, touchscreen as well as brightness adjustment doesn't work out of the box on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, if anybody has ran into this and found solutions.

Hello everyone, So I been sending my All in One desktop to Samsung to find out whats wrong with the touch screen. And this is the second time its been sent in in the past 3 weeks. Today they called after it being there for about a day and they told me that the touch screen issue is something wrong with Windows 8 and told me to wait until 8.1 is released. They said when the screen is calibrated with the tablet PC settings that is when the issue happens. (But sadly its the issue still happens) But they say it doesn't.

The issue is when your not using the touch screen it acts like you are and on the right edge of the screen every 5-10mins. How I can tell is I have Rapr installed and it takes screen shots of my desktop. Also I know there is a issue when you have a screensaver and it turns off every 5-10 mins.

So does anyone know of any major touch screen issues in Windows 8 or is Samsung trying to lie to me about trying to fix my computer.

Hi, I have a Z400 Touch laptop Ideapad - Type 6881. I downloaded Windows 10 a little while ago and put all my stuff on a USB drive before changing. After I did that, I had to reset my entire computer because my husband put a virus on it. I changed it back to factory settings and then updated it to Windows 10 again. When trying to put my stuff from my USB back onto my computer, the USB says that it is unallocated. Is there anyway I can get those files back or are they lost forever? If you could please let me know because I don't want to lose everything I have on it.
