Preferred Solution: when I install language pack on windows 7 ultimate wil also office 2010 which is installed change to the language I installed ?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm using Windows 7 64 Bit and MS Office 2010.

Recently i had to reinstall MS Office and now I'm missing and autocorrect languages.
That's why i downloaded some language packs but i can't install them.

Error says that there is a 32 bit version of Single Image 2010 already installed.

Therefore i uninstalled Single image 2010 (thanks to the help here in the forum).

Unfortunately the whole MS Office is messed up and i get this message each time i run an office programm:
This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.

So i reinstalled MS Office again, but then again, it seems that the 32 bit version of single image is installed (can't install language pack due to that)
.

Seems that i'm trapped in a bad circle.
Any help appreciated.

I currently have Spanish as my interface language, but i want to change it to English, i have already downloaded the necessary Language Interface Pack (LIP) from the Microsoft Download Page, already downloaded 2 times, and does not work at all !
Please i need an answer, as soon as possible.

Thanks,

A:Can't change Office 2010 Language Pack

You may have to uninstall office and re-install it with english as the language. Are you wanting to change the "system" language to english (for everything on the computer?)

Installing the language pack does not make it active, try the following page for instructions on how to change the active language.

I own an Office 2007 Student Pack in Italian - but I'm used to excel formulas in English,
and to have all Office in English. The interface being in Italian it's a pain.

Microsoft 2 years ago discontinued the support for language pack support,
I was pointing there to change interface every-time I had to reinstall.
The PC Main Disk crashed, and over the pain to do the full install of everything,
I discovered that I was stuck with an Italian Office !

Now they came back and offered a good solution ... full download of the older Office version ... any language.

A:language pack for office 2010

Hi alikewan, welcome to the Forum.

It does seem that language packs for Office 2010 have been discontinued. You might have to install a later version of Office & that will probably be Office 2016 or Office 365. Office 365 is a subscription version, where you pay a monthly fee, rather than an up front cost.

This MS website might help you with Office 2016 or 365.

Got a little other problem though, and don't want to start a new topic so I don't clutter your forums.
A few days ago I installed a MS Office 2010 language pack, and suddenly a lot of my programs icons just resetted Even though they don't have anything to do with Office 2010. Is that possible?

Some programs that did change can be seen in the attachments.

All the Office programs changed their icon too.

A:Icons changed after installing MS Office 2010 language pack

Okay, I did a quick Google and came up with this tutorial. I tried both methods but it didn't work. All the icons have changed though, this is how they look now.

Still not okay though, I really wonder how to fix this, next to a System Restore....

Hi

I may have misunderstood the literature regarding the language packs or language proofing tools. 1st of all I am not sure if they are the different names for the same thing or not. Are they? 2nd I do not in ay way want to change my UI with a different language. All I want to be able to do is -1- let Office not give me those squiggly red lines when I write in a different language -2- be able to spell-check and grammar check in the other language. And since I often use more than one language at the same time (2 to 3) be able to use all of the languages for spell-check etc. at the same time. So what exactly am I looking for?

What I have legally downloaded are 3 files that have such a series of numbers/letters: X16-37717.exe, X16-37707.exe, X16-37690.exe. Are these the right kind of stuff I am looking for?

Thanks

A:Microsoft Office 2010 language pack proofing tool without changing UI

They have different names because they ARE different things.
You can have proofing tools for multiple languages, but no language packs installed. But generally, they come together.

You did not mention your Office edition (Standard, PRO, etc.)

If you say that you got them legally, likely they match your office edition.
I would say go ahead and install them. UIs in different languages will also be installed, but Office UI language will match Windows UI.
So, if your Windows and Office were both in English, after installation of those language packs, it will still be Office in English.

If they are different you can edit Office UI language in Start - Microsoft Office - Microsoft Office Tools - Microsoft Office 2010 Language Preferences.

Same tool can be called by pasting this line in Start search bar
%programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\SETLANG.EXE

Hi,

today I upgraded my Vista Business to Vista Ultimate. I need Ultimate because I want to be able to change the language of my system (for testing purposes of an application I'm working on). Currently the language is English.
So the upgrade went well, I now have Vista Ultimate SP1 on my machine, and can select Language Packs from the update screen, but when selecting one, I keep getting this 800700C1 code. Ok, so I checked in the Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder, and yes, the downloaded file (LP-NL-nl.exe) indeed is not a valid Win32 executable. FYI I just downloaded one language (Dutch) for now, but I need French, German, Greek and Russian - and maybe Italian to play with.

I cleaned out the SoftwareDistribution folder, and tried again, alas : still not a valid executable.

So my question : is there any place these Language Packs can be downloaded separately from Microsoft. Microsoft Update Catalog did not reveal them, or I really must be typing in the wrong search words.

Thanks for any response,

Joris Spriet

I looked up the English pack and found it at here. The steps on how to install the pack are simple, and explained in order on the first link provided above.

Hi, I bought my pc with Windows 7 Pro in Spanish. I know I can't add any other language packs with this edition. I don't want or need multi lang support, I just want my OS in English. How can I do that with out having to reinstall Windows from scratch?

A:Change my Language Pack to English (Windows 7 Professional)

There's no mystery. You are not supposed to use "direct download" links for language packs that are only delivered (automatically) if you either use a multi-language edition of Windows (Ultimate, Enterprise) or a server edition (2008 R2). The "DISM" command
can be used to deploy single-language editions of Windows from a multilingual Windows Image, like stated in your link, but it's purpose isn't to change the UI language of a bought, single-language Windows SKU."192 GB ought to be enough for anybody." (from the miniseries "Next Generation's Jokes")

I installed Windows 8 Pro and installed an additional language(let's say it's B) pack, changed system display language to B, and system locale to B.

And I got infinite BSOD after installing some drivers(not related to language pack, just I made mistake installing old programs), so I 'refresh'ed the system.

Guess what, after the refresh, system display was set to English(united kingdom, which is default), AND system locale remained as language B.

This is the problematic part;
1.I CANNOT change system display language to B, it says it's unavailable.
2.The system regards the language pack is already installed because I can still use B as system locale.
3.I cannot reinstall or remove the language pack. LPKSETUP doesn't detect B.

SO i'm pretty much stuck, and I don't want to reinstall just to change the system display language.

Is there any solution to this(removing/reinstalling language pack)?

Hello,

I suppose changing the display language is part of "customisation", I apologise in advance if this is the wrong forum.

My current setup is Windows 8.1 Pro Update version 64-bit. The software was bought in Germany, where I currently reside, but German not being my native language I wanted to use something more convenient like English. The process to change the display language was very easy, and now almost all my display text is in English... save for a few places.

I'd say most of these do not matter, such as the computer greeting me with "Wilkommen" instead of "Welcome", or asking me for my "Kennwort" instead of my password, or the network icon in the settings charm bar being labeled as "Netzwerk". I can still work like this, it's not the end of the world. However, if someone has encountered this issue before, or if some pointers could be given to solve this, my OCD would be extremely grateful.

Things I have tried is to set my location to United Kingdom, also changing the system locale to the UK. I tried changing the display language back and forth between french (my native language, which I do not like to use for computer purposes) and english to see if the german language artifacts disappeared, but no such luck.

Of course, since "Deutsch" is the language which the OS was installed with, it cannot be removed from the language packs. It is simply not displayed.

Many thanks in advance for your help !

Hi Bergamoth, welcome to the Eight Forums.

See this tutorial: Region and Language Settings - Copy to New Users and Welcome Screen - Windows 7 Help Forums. The tutorial is for Windows 7 but the procedure is the same in Windows 8.

Copying settings as told in the tutorial, your Welcome, Sign in, Sign out, Hibernate / Sleep and Shutdown screens are turned to English. Additionally this setting changes the language of the built-in administrator account and all future user accounts you will create.

See this post for another idea, reinstalling using English install media and your original product key.

With my continuing efforts to assist my brother in tailoring his new ThinkPad (X1 Yoga) laptop, I've recently discovered an unexpected problem relating to Microsoft Office, and specifically (at this point), with Word. As indicated in this post's title, his laptop came with Office 2016? pre-installed. Subsequently, Office 2010? was installed by his I/T staff to eliminate the extra expense of leasing (via Office 365) or purchasing/activating the resident Office 2016 code. But Windows seems determined to make using Office 2010 unnecessarily difficult.

Specifically, regarding Word 2010, with .docx associated with this 2010 version, whenever one clicks on a .docx document, Windows pops up a message stating something like ? this is a rough paraphrase; I can't recall the exact wording ? "This application cannot run on your PC. Please go to the Microsoft store to find an application that will work with this file." However, .docx files open easily from within Word 2010.

Being curious, I'm all for understanding the how's, why's and wherefor's of this seeming impediment, but I don't want to unduly burden any readers/respondents with an explanation. I'd be happy just to learn how to correct this situation; i.e., to be able to click on a .docx file and have it open within Word 2010.

Perhaps it's necessary to uninstall Office 2016. It might be preferable to find another solution, in the event my brother may (at some point) want to go ahead and start using Office 2016. ... Read more

Hello, I'm new to the 7forums and I need help.
I've been trying to fix my Windows for 3 days straight now and I'm not really progressing.

This is to help you understand what situation I'm in:
I've asked my dad to help me with something and he did a little extra which messed up my register and after working on that for about a day we decided to Repair install my windows and see if it helped, he got me this Win7 SP1 ISO and upgraded and everything went just fine, but the language was in English and I was unable to change it. I've been on this forum and a few others looking for a solution and didn't quite find out what to do, what I've done so far is:
- Checking optional updates, yet there were none considering LP's and I couldn't find the 'show hidding updates' check either.
- Copying language files from another computer, which got the language into the list of selectable languages but I ended up having a 50/50 English - Dutch on my computer.
So after a lot of trying my dad got me this ISO which was included all versions including my 64 bit Ultimate SP1 version which I've been using but it was all in Dutch, so we got that problem out of the way.
But when I go to the setup it asks me where to install and when I choose the C: drive it only says it would overwrite it and I never get to those the 'Upgrade' option to Repair install.

So basically what I'm asking for here is this:

The only way to do that is to use an English language version of the software. See if any of your friends have an English Ultimate DVD and reinstall using the key that came with your signature version.

Hi all
Just some advice needed by anybody working with International Organisations

Windows 7 is fine for adding a lot of languages. Office 2007 also has all the languages we use but rolling out W7 with Office 2010 seems the best bet --however the lack of quite a few languages in Office 2010 could make this a problem.

On the site it says "Coming Soon" but anybody got any idea on "How soon is Soon".

Our test bank is W7 Enterprise English version with the appropriate extra languages installed -- primarily the X-64 bit version but a few PC's still need to run X-86.

Upgrading a load of computers TWICE seems like a lot of wasted time but W7 works fine and ready for a corporate roll out.

The Office 2007 vs 2010 issue is getting now to be the main blocking factor here.

Even on W7 x-64 machines we'll plump for the 32 bit of Office 2010 when and if the language issue is resolved.

English is fine for some of our colleagues but there are a lot of people who would like as much as possible in THEIR OWN LANGUAGE (and why shouldn't they too).

Any MS Professionals here who could shed some light on this issue. Might sound trivial to some people but this for us is a HUGE concern.

Cheers
jimbo

So my windows is xp home edition. Its all in Polish language and uses Latin Font as default.
While browsing chinesse websites IE asked me if i want to install chinesse language pack - which by mistake i did. I didnt put up the windows cd though.
Now everything is fine but when i browse chinesse sites i see the real chinesse font instead of strange sings like before.

Of course thats susposed to be good since now this sites at least look good but because some of scripts i wrote cant use the 'real chinesse fonts' i want to get back to my old install without this fonts. How can i do that?

A:Delete extra installed language for IE7

Try going to Internet Options then at the bottom of the window click Languages. If Chinese is on that list, select it and click remove. Also, you can go to Add and Remove programs and tick the little box that says show updates, and look for anything that has to do with a Chinese Language Pack. Microsoft says theres no way to uninstall them so Good Luck

This may not be in the correct formn since it may be associated with a program that I do not know is casuing this problem
I am getting a repeated error message of "cannot find any installed language resource DLLs. Please install this product.” When this occurs it keeps repeating every 15 seconds. It does not appear with any specific program I am running (that I can see) I am running. I have not installed anything new except a new HP printer with drivers. I did install the new version of Ad-Aware Anniversary edition recently -otherwise no new programs. I have NAV and various spy ware and malware scan programs (none new).
When this happens, I have to reboot to get rid of the errors. It then, will not occur for a day or so.
Thanks much.

Hi again,

This is regarding my Desktop Computer. No make/model

Windows XP Home SP3.

Everything was going well until one day when I decided I wanted to be able to post on a Japanese website. I don't have the ability to read/write in Japanese because I never installed that language thing on my computer. So I pulled out the Windows Home CD and popped it in the computer. I followed instructions online and viola! Japanese characters now show up on webpages.

And then the darkness fell. Somehow "calc" is no longer found on my computer. Goodbye calculator. Also, my Sound Volume Control is gone. When I go to Sounds and Audio Devices Properties, I can no longer click ADVANCED in Device Volume to have those nifty volume bars displayed. In addition, whenever I try to open up a document, it says something about installing Windows it says something about installing windows professional office publisher something something even though the document is .doc .

I don't understand how I could have done all of this. Ideas?

Thank you again in advance.

Hello folks, my father-in-law has bought himself a laptop which has Windows Home Premium on it (pre installed so he doesn't have a disc). When he started to set it up he selected German by mistake rather than English and now can't figure out how to get it back to English.

I suggested that only the way he might be able to do this is, is to complete the setting up process and then try and change it back through the regional settings in control panel?

Is there any other way of resetting this back to English?

A:Wrong Language Installed By Mistake

Click on START | type language | select "Region and Language"

That will change language for the user account you are logged on to.

I would suggest using the HDD recovery partition and start over - reinstall Windows 7. Total time will be about 45 minutes.
