Preferred Solution: install crashed now no signal from desktop

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

If you don't get video (especially so early in the boot process), and you've tried another monitor, then the next thing to test with would be another video card.
Beyond that, I'd post over in the Internal Hardware forums for more expert assistance:    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/7/internal-hardware/

I have first been getting these problems when I downloaded Comodo IS Pro. Apparently when I approached them for help, the technician did not reply to me after telling me to install.

Thus I did a system restore and the computer could load in normal mode(however the screen, etc loaded slow like hell.)

Yesterday, I downloaded comodo firewall and something familiar appeared

From Problem Reports and solution, these are the service that crashed:

4X svchost.exe
1X lsm.exe
1X sandboxie.exe
1X wininit.exe

But guard32.dll from comodo is the module causing it according to Problem Reports and Solution, but anyone knows why and how to solve it?

A:Svchost crashed, windows start up crashed, local session manager crashed

Have you tried uninstalling Commodo to see if it is causing the problem?

OK I have an Acer Aspire SA20 series desktop bought 3 years ago. On friday (2 days ago) I bought a new notebook and have connected it to the desktops modem/router wirelessly.

Everything was going fine til last night when the desktop chucked what could be considered a tantrum and now when I turn it on at the power switch it fails to load windows.

I cant get past the windows xp loading screen in fact it changes on the screen and gets a variety of lines and changes colour.

No I am not really sure what has happened here but that desktop has a lot of stuff on it I don't particulary want to lose!

This morning I somehow got it booted up in safe mode and tried to system restore back it to thursday but it hasnt done a thing.

I'm not sure if this is a crash or something else so any help would be much appreciated

A:I think my desktop has crashed?!? Please help!

You might open it up and clean the dust out.
With the power off, remove the video card and clean the heatsink/fan with canned air.
Reinstall it and try again.
But,it sounds like the video card is having problems.

Recently I purchased a DVD-RW for my desktop pc, installed it as per instructions, when I went to use it, my pc crashed "blue screen" with lots of numbers and notes.

I took it out and tried to reboot, it came up with error on discs scan (lots of), I then tried re-setting it to factory settings, which worked ok, but after 10-30mins it just switches itself off, then when i switche it back on, it switches off.

My desktop was working fine until this happened, so I have sent back the DVD drive but am left with this problem.

Tiny helpdesk are rubbish, 1 per min, kept me on the phone discussing who I was for 5 mins, and the help he tried giving me through BIOS seemed to work for 10 mins after then crashed again.

I have Windows XP Home edition, on a P4 1900GHz.

Any help would be gladly received.

Hi folks,

I found this forum while researching my problem, so I thought I'd post here. Computer in question is a Dell XPS with Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit, with SP1. My OS is installed on a 128GB Crucial M4 SSD. Before I upgraded to the 128GB SSD, my OS was residing on a partition of a 1TB WD Drive, which I still have hooked up to my computer. This will come into play later...

I was on the internet when my computer crashed, and upon rebooting, gave me a BSOD. I've been unable to boot that OS ever since. Text is as follows:
--------------------------------------------------------------
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
BAD_POOL_HEADER
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any winows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced startup options, and then select Safe Mode.

A:Desktop crashed and won't reboot

Hmm based on the diagnostic test on the western digital that drive is failing. You can try to run a chkdsk /r on it for bad sectors, but i doubt it helps. I would just get rid of it from the system all together. Set the ssd as your only drive and try to boot into safe mode see if you can get in. Ive hears bad pool header could be memory, but you said your memtest checked out. If nothing works for you, reinstall windows on the ssd and take it from there.

Hello, I'm going to try and explain this problem I'm having in detail. I do know quite a bit about computers, so for anyone with an answer, feel free to reply in "intermediate" if you will, computer talk. So, one day everything was fine, I was talking with a friend on skype and then "BAM", the screen goes blank and I'm left with nothing. I noticed that the computer might have just restarted itself, so I boot it back up, and unfortunately, it takes me to this repair windows 7 page. Of course, as skimpy as Microsoft is, it can't recognize the problem and advices that I shut down. This also, does nothing. So there are some more options that I try including System Restore, which got pissy and didn't end up working. Something like - Cannot restore windows to an earlier date, please try a different time slot. Anyway, I really need a way to fix it, I'll list my computer's specs below and I had a ton of important stuff on it, so losing it would be quite disappointing. I appreciate anyone who had time to read over my oversized post, and has a reply in mind.

Basic Specs [Didn't want to go into detail]:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
RAM: 8 GB Patriot Sector 5 DDR3 1333MHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 470
Motherboard: Asus (I forget the model)
Power Supply: Corsair 750W

Hey guys,
I'm very new when comes with computers, so I will make sure that it will be as clear as possible for you guys.
Ok, sometimes ago, my Pc desktop showed me some unknown errors, lots of them. i didn't have time to save them to show you guys, but before it crashed I managed to remember one error's name: It says that there s some flies that can't be located which is the "Kernel.dll.". And then the screen went blue, can't do nothing about it, esc key didn't work, and came the blue screen.
So right now, the Pc will start but no action shows on the screen, the light on the screen show that no command is arriving on the screen. I tried to find some windows 7 CD to boot it but the CD Player won't open. It appears that no more command reaches the DVD player.
("Ok, I forgot something, before all those problem started, something occurred with the DVD, it opened and closed automatically".)
I don't even know anymore if it was a virus or ... because before it crashed, I ran a virus scan several times, and no virus has been detected. (I'm using free avast)
sometimes with my laptop when it causing me some problem, I pull up the memory slots and it started to work again, but this time with the desktop, it didn't work with the desktop.

Thanks guys,... wish to hear from You very soon, I don't have my laptop anymore so that leaves me with my DESKTOP..

A:desktop blue screen then crashed! windows 7

Welcome Tolosy.

What do you mean by the CD player will not open? When you press the button is there any lights showing? Did it work before? Have you tried sticking a small, thing, long object up the little hole on the CD player (it should have on at the front somewhere, emergency eject), Eject a STUCK CD/DVD - A Tutorial | Unique Technology Blog.

As your disc drive isn't working... let's try this instead.

Boot your computer, as soon as it starts up, keep pressing F8 (don't hold it down, just keep tapping it), hopefully a list of instructions should appear. Go to the one that says boot in safe mode, see if that works.

If it boots to safe mode, then try running System Restore from there and going back to a previous point, one before you got this problem.

Hi there!

I have a problem with the AVG Free antivirus software. I installed it some months ago and it was working correctly, but I did something in the start menu (I don't remember very well what I did but I think Windows was saying that there were some apps that were launched when the system started and that it was more secure if a disabled them, so I did it.... and since there, the AVG stopped working. After that, I tried to uninstall it but the system didn't let me do it and I had to download a tool to do it. After that, I tried to install again the antivirus but now it has been impossible to do it because when the installation is almost done, the software sends me a message that shows the error "OxC0070643 Event exec_finished". So, what can I do?

I will appreciate your help!

I recently had to perform a repair install of windows xp on my computer. But after it began, and was at the part where it was "installing devices", it crashed to a blue screen of death saying BAD_POOL_CALLER, and something about a memory dump. I restarted it and the repair install started back up again, and finished normally. But then my computer wouldn't boot up, it give the options: start normally, safe modes (and other safe mode options), and the last known config that worked. I tried each of them but every time i did it, it would take ne right back to that same screen. I can't even get into safe mode.

So evrytime I try to repair install again, and it crashes again to the BAD_POOL_CALLER blue screen (stop code 0x000000C2).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

rebooted again with different BIOS setting and it goes through post , lists USB devices , PCI devices , IRQ settings and then stops after the last line where it says ACPI controller.

i went back in to BIOS and checked all boot priority settings , i tried to reinstall the operating system , but it goes through the windows installation dialogue , then stalls at the point where it says " Setup is starting wondows " and just hangs

i thought the HDD was faulty , so installed a brand new HDD , tried to install windows on that but get the same problem ., it just hangs and wont start windows.

Be sure that the install disk is free of any smudges, scratches, lint, dust, etc.....
If the disk is clean go to the hard drive manufactures website and download the drive diagnostics for your HDD model. Run the tools to see the if the HDD is good.

Do you have another XP install disk you could try?

!!oxc 0190005!! 9293/45274 (registry\machine\schema\wcm.//microsoft-...)

I think your system have trouble with unload Schema hive - it is only temporary hive and after restart system never use it.Download MEPIS Bypassing Log-in Passwords to Access Folders on Drive
burn, boot it and navigate to folder C:\Windows\System32\config ->in this folder find SCHEMA file and rename to SCHEMA.OLD ,next run system normally.

I believe my desktop crashed. I know the monitor and the other hardware works. I hooked my monitor to my laptop and it works fine so does my mouse and keyboard. Before my Desktop computer stop working the monitor would say "no signal" and the keyboard and mouse would not light up. This happened several times before it finally crashed. I would have to reboot. Just before the crash, I could not update my antivirus software and the color was odd looking then the screen flashed something about a crash and that was the last time it came on. It was once recognizing the key board and the mouse, but now it does not recognize any hardware. It never did recognize the monitor after the crash. The monitor says "no signal." Is there any downloadable software that I can use to bring my Computer back to life? Window's Vista Home Premium is the OS. AMD 64 live. No extra recovery software came with my computer. Can someone please help me?

Hello everyone

I have this big problem with my HP Pavilion a730n Desktop. After doing the System Restore setting the restore point on February 14, the monitor turned off and the computer just freezes. I unplugged the PC a couple of times and plugged again but it just stays the same, it freezes!!!

Hope you can help me! Don't know what to do!!!

Thanks in advance

A:HP Pavilion Desktop a730n with Windows XP crashed after System Restore

How long did you leave the computer unplugged? If you just unplugged and plugged in right away your not giving the hardware time to reset. Unplug the computer and leave it sit for a bought 10 minutes. That should be enough time for the system to reset. I suspect it may be a hardware lock. Not ruling out software as yet.

I have a friend who has a Win 7 Pro X64 disc. That is what is on my ASUS G74. My computer is just a mess, so I would like to do a fresh install. I have the SN decal - can I buy his copy and use it?

I also have the backup discs that I burned, but they are not working. I changed the boot order, its just not reading them. The current install is from teh Digital River ISO, but I can't find that disc.

Or can anyone point me to the legitimate iso?

Hi,

I'll try to be brief but still give all the relevant info. A friend has a laptop that was infected to some degree by the ThinkPoint virus. They asked me to help, so I found the instructions listed here and ran through the process.

Malwarebytes found 60 infected files, so I clicked remove. It said it needed a reboot, so I let it and it rebooted fine. I then tried to install Avast antivirus as they had requested; I foolishly selected to include Google Chrome (seems foolish now anyway). It was running through the install, got to the point where it said it was at 100% installing Chrome, and it crashed.

Now I can't reboot, even in safe mode! When I reboot in safe mode with networking, it stops and hangs at: DRIVERS\isapnp.sys

When I boot normally it hits a very quick blue screen of death that's gone before I can read it.

Thanks in advance for the help. I'm going to look like a real bozo if I return his computer doa...

Appreciate it.

A:Computer crashed during and install - now won't reboot

I THINK I MANAGED TO FIX IT. Following the info found here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic288949.html/page__st__15and more succinctly here: http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/golden-orbit-blog/windows-xp-hangs-at-isapnpsys-37891I was able to make a Hiren's boot CD, rename the 0 size file and it rebooted. Will see of the next few hours if everything goes ok. Will report back if issues still persist. Here's a summary:Hi there,I may help you with this, because I have solved similar problem.I downloaded "Hiren's Boot CD". I burnt the ISO to a CD, booted from it and lunched the Mini XP.In Mini Windows I went to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers directory and renamed all files that had a size of 0 kB.I think you may delete them as well. Anyway, after this action I just removed the boot CD from my drive and rebooted as usual. And everything is OK for now...I hope it helps, I wish you good luck!Furthermore, I found this solution here...http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/golden-orbit-b...isapnpsys-37891I just still don't know why that error happened.Best wishes,Alesh

Hi joined up to the forum today as I am need of help. I wanted to update my Sony Viao Windows 7 laptop to Windows 10. Hasn't been used much recently and full of older software I don't use so decided to fresh install Win 7 prior to the Update. I pressed f10 on boot up to start fresh install mode but after about 10 minutes into the process it seems the laptop has crashed.
The screen is frozen and is showing INSTALLING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 45%.... I thought about switching the laptop off and on again but instinct told me this would be a big mistake, if I did this would the fresh install restart and proceed normally? Hoping you guys on here can help out.

Hi green fairy and welcome to TSF,

I'm assuming you've already made a proper backup and that you're going to perform a clean install. If so:

Start installation again.
When prompted to choose a partition press Advanced drive options > Remove all partitions.
Create a new partition (or two if you'd like) of the Unallocated space > Format it.

Try again.

Sorry for the double post, decided to ask my question in this section since the "Gaming" forum seems to be pretty barren for the most part. Only desperate because spending $2k for what is seeming like a paperweight is extremely bothersome. Hoping I'll have more luck here...New HP Omen 870 desktop arrived yesterday; when an HDMI cable leading from the television was attached to the HDMI port in the back of the computer, no signal was given from the computer to the television when both devices were powered on. Attempted to connect through the HDMI port via the 1080 and the motherboard, both to the same "no signal" on my television screen. I was wondering if anyone would know why this is/how I can go about fixing this/if it's possible to fix at all? All answers are very welcome and definitely appreciated.

emerykaulitz Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about problems with your new HP PC and wanted to help. While this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly to have them put you in touch with HP Technical Support to see what they can do about diagnosing and repairing your machine remotely.I did this recently and the HP Tech was able to remotely access my PC from the Internet and do the needed repairs. If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.htmlNOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while! If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 (800) 474-6836Good Luck

I am having an issue with the wifi signal on my desktop PC. I have a computer that I built with a m-pcie wireless card and installed the antennas in the front behind the plastic cover, just like my dell pc had them located.

I installed a new Intel 3160 Dual Band Wireless AC + Bluetooth Mini PCIe card Supports 2.4 and 5.8Ghz B/G/N/AC Bands.

When the computer is placed about 70 feet away from the router with no obstructions of view, it cannot find the network. But when I move it closer, it works fine.

Is this a setting problem, a hardware issue or antenna location issue? Please help.

I Spent the entire day trying to fix this, this is what i tried:

-removed power from pc, pressing the power button for 30 sec, and starting it up again.

-monitor works fine, tried other pc on it.

-different cables, different sockets

-cleaned the pc inside

-checked for loose connections

-took the ram out and cleaned them

-took that battery thing out for 1 hour, to reset the bios something

It seems to Work all fine, except that theres no picture. I even heard a Windows sound from the monitor (tv screen with hdmi cable), so i guess that the pc is actually running fine, i just cant see anything. It even reacted to that reset, so i guess that i did it Right, but it didnt solve it..

Any help Would be Much appriciated!

Hi there,

I've got a Dell desktop (specifically, a Dimension 4550.. not sure how old, but probably more than five years). The problem is that it isn't getting a signal to the monitor - when the machine is turned on, the monitor says "no signal." It isn't a problem with the video card or the monitor - the monitor works fine on other machines, and I swapped video cards to check (card from broken machine works fine in other machine; card from working machine doesn't fix broken machine). Unfortunately, that's about as far as my hardware know-how goes. If you have any tips on what else I might look into, I'd love to hear them!

Thanks

A:No signal to monitor from Dell desktop

The "no signal" message on a known working monitor almost always means the computer isn't booting.

I purchased a Dell 3650 from another individual.  It worked at first, but now the screen says 'no signal from processor' or somthing close to that.
I switched VGA cables, no luck.
I switched monitors, no luck.
Questions:  The service tag says I have warranty remaining.  Since I purchased from an individual, is that warranty good?
Whether the warranty is good or not, any ideas?
Can I try HDMI cable instead of VGA?

Monitor sudddenly stopped  working with my HP desktop.  Monitor status stuck on DVI input source and I use VGA. However, monitor will work with same VGA cable when plugged into my laptop VGA port. I went into monitor settings and tried to save VGA as  source but "Save and Return" option was grayed out. When I  take the same cable and plug back into desktop the monitor won't work and again show DVI as input source. Says check video cable. Stranger still is that the desktop WILL work when plugged into a DIFFERENT monitor with the SAME VGA cable. Why are the two HP items not talking to each other? I see that both the desktop and monitor are working but just not with each other.

The last few weeks, this desktop that I'm working with has been acting up--after rebooting or a cold start, the computer will turn on (I can see the light behind the power button), and I can hear the hdd spinning, but there is no signal to the monitor. The monitor then announces that it sees no signal, and goes into sleep mode.  I read online that one solution is to reset or adjust in some way, the CMOS battery. I have no idea what this process is. Do I just replace it? Or what?  Is there any other solution that might fix this? there were no major updates to any software or hardware that I can think of.

I just bought a brand new pc from cyberpowerpc.com and after a blown psu and replacement (KINGWIN ABT-1000MA1S) I finally get everything to boot up great; all lights and fans turn on etc etc. I turn my monitor on and I recieve a No Signal message. Before I go I will give specs:

AMD PhenomTII X4 965 Black Edition
8GB (2GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Kingston HyperX Memory
ATI Radeon HD 5850 (HIS)
KINGWIN ABT-1000MA1S 1000watt PSU
30 GB Kingston 2.5 inch SATA SSD
1TB SATA-II HDD
PCI Wireless 802.11g LAN Card
LG 22X DVD/CD R-RW Optical Drive
NO OS Loaded on the system

I've done a bit of troubleshooting (as much as I can/know, since I am in Afghanistan on deployment.)

First thing I did was try all the video outs on my video card (HDMI, DVI, VGA with a DVI adapter.) Nothing. Next I tried a second monitor with all the above video configs, same outcome No Signal. Then I tested the two monitors on another computer and they worked fine with all three A/V cables.

I opened the CM 690-II case and make sure everything was seated properly. I reset all 4 sticks of RAM, my GPU, all power connections, WLAN card. No difference.

I then reset my CMOS. I took out the battery and shorted the clr_cmos two pin on my mobo. Nothing changed.
Next, I pull out one piece at a time and boot the system. All return the same No Signal with my monitor connected. However, and I'm not sure if this matters, they all make different beeps. When I have all components in the case I get one beep upon startup.

You need to boot the installer to Custom install, delete all partitions using Drive Options.

Go to Forums tutorials above and search Clean Reinstall -Factory OEM for everything you need. ( In an airport so I have no access to my links. )
