I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Adobe Acrobat 4.0 was on my computer when I bought it. I have Windows ME. Recently I downloaded a free copy of the Acrobat Reader 6.0 but Adobe Acrobat is not free. Is Reader a part of Adobe Acrobat? Should I buy an updated version Adobe Acrobat and if so, what would be the advantage of doing so

A:What is the difference between Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader

Adobe Acrobat is the full version which allows you to create and edit pdf files. Reader is free and is just the viewer that allows you to read pdf documents someone else has created. If you still have the full version of 4.0 it should still work fine for creating simple pdf documents. The advantage of upgrading is that 4.0 is no longer supported by Adobe and the more recent versions (they're up to 7 now) have many more features. You should keep your version of the Reader current because older versions of the Reader may not be able to open documents created with the newer versions of Acrobat. But if you don't use Acrobat very much for creating and editing (and it sounds like you don't), I don't see any need to purchase an upgrade. Hope that all made sense.

I don't see this anywhere (although I haven't checked all the OS Forums) so here are the details from Adobe; http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb10-06.html

I used the uninstaller from Adobe (also updated yesterday); http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html to remove the plugin from all my browsers (Opera, Firefox and IE), got the .exe file for the non Active X browsers and stayed online while the IE d/l and install completed. I didn't try using the built in updater but I assume that works as well

In the past I have accepted Adobe requests to update the Flash Player with no problem. Now I get a security notice that states my "current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded". I am no sure is this message is coming from Windows or Norton. Anyone else run into this?

A:Adobe Flash Player Update Security Notice

DPitts, welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

This is most likely Norton blocking the download. You need to go into Norton & allow this Adobe update.

Dell XPS 420 running Vista and IE9. On IE9 startup and each new page I get an IE Security warning: "A Website wants to open web content using this program on your computer.
This program will open outside of Protected mode.....
Name: Adobe Flash Player
Publisher: Adobe Systems INC
(then the following buttons) Allow Don't allow"

To close the box I must click on "don't allow". Then I am fine untill I click on another item, and get the same message. Checking the "don't show me the warning for this program again" is ignored by IE. For example, on this site while looking for a thread about this problem each time I open a new thread or go back I get the same message. I found a thread started on 9 Aug, 2010 by suhjonathan97 (and another user) that described my exact problem but the thread expired without an anwser. I ran avira, no virus detected. Tried a restore from yesterday no help. Oh yeah, when I start IE the warning comes up while IE is trying to connect to the internet, have to click "don't allow" to finish IE start.

SITUATION
I created a pdf. file from a document that had 'fill-in forms'. I used Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0. to create the PDF file.

I then I burned the pdf. file on to a CD.

When I used my Adobe Reader 9.0 to open the PDF file, I could fill-in the forms, but not save them. I received a message that said I could not save the information, only print it unless I enabled the ‘local save capability’ in the original pdf. file.

I will be selling the CDs and need the buyer to be able to fill-in the forms, and then save the document on the CD or the buyer’s computer.

QUESTIONS
1. How do I enable the ‘local save capability’ on Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0, saving the document with the information typed into the fill-in forms?

2. How can I write protect the pdf. file so no one can edit it (except for the fill-in fields) nor duplicate the disk?

3. Has anyone bought a software product from www.SoftCaptain.com and if yes, what was your experience with the software product company?

A:Adobe Acrobat Professional & Adobe Reader

I can't answer all of your questions, but data on a CD is read only, you won't be able to save the edited file on that CD.
It can only be saved on the hard drive & then burned to CD again, if necessary.

Hi,

Does Windows 10 now manages all the security updates for Adobe Flash player?
I noticed that on the updates history list it shows Adobe Flash player updates.

Is this true?

Thanks

A:Windows 10 manages security updates for Adobe Flash player?

Yeah, it takes care of the flash through windows update, it did that in win 8 too.

Just for Edge and IE, if you have other browsers those are updated separately.

I recently updated from Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 to 7.0.
But now it seems that whenever I go to click on a pdf file = it asks me whether I want to Save or Cancel. If I click Save = it makes a temporary file. All I want to do sometimes is just look at pdf file first before I decide whether I want to print.

New version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for Windows 10, this is the free version. Wondering if anyone has tried this yet. Windows 10 does not come with a Reader like Windows 8.1 had it uses Microsoft Edge to open PDF. Not to my liking why i ask if anyone has tried it yet.

A:Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, anyone try this ?

Is working.

Apart from that it features a kind of cloud integration, which I do not want. And I think it has more adverts than Reader 11. All in all, I do not use it. There are way better alternatives out there: Nitro Reader 3 or Foxit Reader are both for free and can be installed on your PC. If you do not install a program, then PDFescape might be for you.
