Preferred Solution: Hijackthis log - running slow, email password hacked?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I keep having the same issues so I think my computer has a virus ir trojan or something. It's going really, really slow and it used to be fairly fast. Everytime I go online it's using way more memory than before even if I have up only one page with no images or video. Before: 200mb, now: 1gb. Sometimes I'll be watching something on hulu and the full screen will turn off as if I'm doing something in the background but I'm not. When I do a search and click on a link, if I click the back button it won't go back to the search results. It just keeps reloading the same page. My internet email has been hacked and my husband's email (which I check for him) has been hacked.

I have run a defrag, run scans with AVG antivirus and Rootkit scanner, Malwarebytes scanner, superantispyware scanner. All they find are cookies. So I figure I have something pretty deeply embedded. After the defrag, there was an extra 10+gbs of space freed up on my computer. the next day I turn it on, and that space is gone again.

I don't know for sure if I have a virus but I think I do. What do I do next to get this taken care of?

Thanks for any and all help,

sanslumiere

I am running Windows Vista Home 32bit. Browser I use most is IE9. Today the browser shut down because of Data Execution Prevention (DEP). It shuts down quite a bit but I dont recall if this has been the reason or not.

Hi, I'm new to this site. Also, I'm not very good with computers (but I guess if I was I wouldn't be here, right?) So, I guess I'm supposed to post my log from Hijackthis, and someone here will tell me what to delete, right?

Ok, I have an HP laptop running on Windows Vista and I used to think that there was nothing wrong with my computer. I have anti-virus software (Trend Micro Officescan), anti-malware software (Malwarebytes), and I also have CCleaner, and I defrag about every day. When I run all of this software, it tells me that my computer is fine. My laptop isn't slow and it doesn't act strange; except a few days ago, someone hacked into my email account (hotmail.com) and sent an email, that was supposedly from me, to all my contacts; probably spreading around a virus. So, I used Hijackthis and I have attached the results to this topic.

If anymore information is needed, I will be glad to provide it, if I can.

Please, please help me!!! I don't want this to happen again!!!

A:Hijackthis Results - Someone hacked into my email account

Hello and Welcome to TSF.

We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link I'll give you below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a

Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here:

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Please start a new thread in our Virus/Trojan/Spyware forum along with the required logs

A:Computer running extremely slowly, did have trojans and email account was hacked

Hi there,my name is Marius and I will assist you with your malware related problems. Before we move on, please read the following points carefully. First, read my instructions completely. If there is anything that you do not understand kindly ask before proceeding. Perform everything in the correct order. Sometimes one step requires the previous one. If you have any problems while following my instructions, Stop there and tell me the exact nature of your problem. Do not run any other scans without instruction or add/remove software unless I tell you to do so. This would change the output of our tools and could be confusing for me. Post all logfiles as a reply rather than as an attachment unless I specifically ask you. If you can not post all logfiles in one reply, feel free to use more posts. If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed. Stay with me. I will give you some advice about prevention after the cleanup process. Absence of symptoms does not always mean the computer is clean. My first language is not english. So please do not use slang or idioms. It could be hard for me to read. A few days ago my AOL email account got hacked and started spoofing out unsolicited emails. AOL was on it quite quick and suspended my account until I changed my password. emails now seem fine but my computer is grinding to a halt! I checked my task manager, nothing of note really, except csrss.exe seems to have two running processes. A quick google brings allsorts of rumours regarding these processes, but I feel that I can't act on internet rumours regarding my PC security. My password security is usually top notch and I can't think of any lapses. Avast virus checker picked up nothing, so I uninstalled that and tried MSE, that picked up nothing either. Should I be worried about a keylogger virus?

My WoW account was recently hacked into. After dealing with blizzard i had my password changed and my account restored. The hacker then hacked my account again and this time changed my Battle.net address along with the password. He also attempted to steal my hotmail at this point in time. I then began to look for keyloggers and viruses with hijackthis and various virus programs including Spybot, Kaspersky, Microsoft Security Essentials, and MalwareBytes. I deleted a bunch of toolbars using hijackthis and am stumbling across various files that i am unsure of. I do not want to mess up my new computer so i am going to stop deleting things until further notice.

Good morning. I need some help--- My pc has been so slow when it comes to downloading pages into my browser, IE7. I am using Peoplepc for dialup and have Panda software. Panda finds no viruses. The slowness came before I downloaded IE7--- thought it would be faster, but no! Today it takes literally minutes to simply go to yahoo.com! Or anything! So I thought I'd better do a hujack this, and as you guys, the experts, for some help! I was wondering if a BHO is the problem--- I see one listed under the google toolbar helper and it has No Name. Could that be the problem? I am not a newbie, yet not an expert either, I'm kinda inbetween, so if you see a problem, please help me out. I sure would appreciate it! I just can't sit here waiting 5 minutes or more for these webpages to load--- I'm pulling out my hair and my husband is starting to complain about the PC too. Thanks, you guys! ~Molly

*I turned off wordwrap and reposted below.

Computer running very slow, it act like something is running in the background all the time but I don't really know what it could be.
at one time I did have a blue screen after I deleted internet temp files there was so many files to delete, I think I over worked my computer, later on I did get the computer to working again
I ran adaware and spybot they found nothing. I deleted all temp files, removed some data thinking the hard drive was too full. uninstalled some programs I don't use anylonger, and after all that the computer still runs very very slow all the time.

Do I have too many processes running could this be the problem and if so witch one do I delete?
Thank You for your help

A:Computer running VERY VERY SLOW... HIJACKTHIS LOG... plz help

I'm having the same problem you are zz. Go to your system info and see how much RAM is being recognized by your computer. Also, go into your BIOS on startup and see what it reads on "system memory". I am currently having the same problem. Talked to Dell and they are sending me a new motherboard and techinician but I don't know if that's the problem. I was sent two new stick's of memory but that wasn't the problem. It's showing I only have 64 instead of 256.

I had lovgate.x and downloader-er viruses so I don't know if it's still having an effect on that or not.

If anyone can help us with this problem it'd be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully someone can help. I have been given my sisters laptop to check over as i'm the most technical minded in the family (but still very basic knowledge). I had AVG Free and Zone alarm installed but I think my sister had removed them. I have reinstalled both, ran the scans, installed and ran adaware se and spybot search and destroy with no major issues. The main problem is that everything is running extremely slow. From starting up to running IE (which is the most the machine really does) it takes much longer than it used to to work.

I have attached a HijackThis log below. I would be grateful for any help.

My computer has been running slow for a few days. I haven't installed anything new but I do download files all the time.

When I browse folders on my harddrive, the flashlight often comes up and it takes awhile to view files. Also, there is a problem watching video (audio/video is out of sync) in Windows Media Player and VLC. The other thing I've never seen before is when I open a program (like Hijack This) I sometimes get a message saying something like ""This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy" and there's a button to "switch to" the program.

I've restored my computer to a point a month ago, ran adware/spyware, defragmented my harddrive, checked the Device Manager and there are no conflicts.

My computer:
Dell Dimension 4700
Windows XP Home Edition Ver 2002, SP3
1 GB RAM
230 GB Hadrdrive, 30 GB free
Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz

Hello there and welcome to Bleeping Computer's security forum. My name is David, I will be helping you with your log today. It is a good idea to print off these instructions. There is a possibility some of the instructions will need to be carried out where internet access is not available.A print out of the instructions would be a good reference to make sure you don't yet lost. Also, it is important that you complete the instructions in the right order, and that you don't miss out any steps. If you have any queries about the process or just general questions, just ask. Please set your system to show all files. Click Start, open My Computer, select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file typesUncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.Click Yes to confirm.I do not recommend that you have more than one anti virus product installed and running on your computer at a time. The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, then those products which do not encrypt the virus strings within them can cause other anti virus products to create "false alarms". It can also lead to a clash as both products fight for access to files which are opened again this is the resident/automatic protection. In general terms, the two programs may conflict and cause false al... Read more

It's been awhile, but I've been asked to try and clean up another machine. The machine is running very slow. Problems came up when I was walking the user through installing a VPN client for work (this is the kid's machine at college). The PC ended up on my doorstep after several failed installs.
