Internet Explorer not showing javascript

Q: Internet Explorer not showing javascript

I have been creating a website on my local machine and then viewing it in IE 7. All of the js used to work fine until randomly it no longer works. It's always given me the annoying little bar at the top that says IE blocked some scripts from running but I always used to just tell it to run them anyway and it would work. Now all of a sudden that doesn't work and infact nothing regarding js on the page works. Not even some of the simple text link effects such as bolding on click.

I have tried:
- Reinstalling IE 7
- The website in IE on other computers and it works fine
- Setting the security settings in IE to as low as possible and also just default
- Adding the tag: <!-- saved from url=(0014)about:internet --> to the page
- Other browsers on this computer and it worked fine
- Set all settings in IE back to default settings
- Googling for hours

Thanks in advance!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I cannot access the internet on my computer. It just pops up as the scripts/codes, instead of the actual page. It happens with every page I try to open, so I know it is something wrong with my computer, and it is getting worse. Now I cannot send e-mails (I use AOL software). Any suggestions? I am really freaking out.

My computer is not allowing me to run that program in the top header of this forum. It is saying that it is not a valid Win32 something or other. Amazingly, I CAN open this page, but I cannot open MySpace, CafeMom, or Yahoo sites. And my Internet Explorer is not allowing me to open them, either. I just finished taking everything of value off my computer, so if it crashes completely, I can at least salvage that stuff. But I don't want to lose my laptop! Thank you in advance for any help

Thanks in advance for any help on this issue. I am running IE 6.0. When I have BHO's enabled (to use my google toolbar) javascripts run but take at least 15 seconds to load. When I disable BHO's, javascript and IE seem to run much faster. I enjoy the google toolbar and would like to use it and have successfully for quite sometime. This has just been a problem over the last week. I'm not sure what happened to cause this. I was also suffering from powerdown issues, but I believe I've finally resolved that during this time. I've run every spyware program to think of and updated my flash bios (it needed it anyway).

I'm enclosing a HJT log - would someone please look at it and see if there is a way to fix this problem? I've run this hijack log after running ad-aware and deleting all temp files & cookies.

There's something wrong with my Internet Explorer. It's pretty weird. The JavaScript of websites won't work in my Internet Explorer. It works in all my other browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera). Although when I make an html page with Javascript myself, it works in IE. I tried reinstalling the Java Runtime Environment but the result is the same.

Any ideas on how I could fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Download and run JavaRa after installing the newest version of JavaRuntimeEnviroment.http://raproducts.org/javara.htmlavaRa is a simple tool that does a simple job: it removes old and redundant versions of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE).Java software in general and the Java JRE in particular allow you to run applications called 'applets' that are written in the Java programming language. You probably have Java JRE installed on your computer because these applets allow you to play online games, chat with people around the world, calculate your mortgage interest, view images in 3D, as well as many others. As with all software, the JRE is updated on a regular basis. Updates are necessary to add new functionalities, to remove programming bugs or to repair possible vulnerabilities.Usually older versions of programs are removed during the install of new versions but Sun (the owner of Java) has somehow decided not to do this. The result is that a number of different versions of the JRE may exist on your computer. These older versions potentially pose a threat to your sense of security due to the possible vulnerabilities or security holes that may exist in them....http://raproducts.org/javara.html

Okay so this has been driving me crazy.

On other accounts on this computer, javascript has stopped working. When I view the sky broadband page a message is displayed where some items should be, "Javascript is disabled, limited functionality"

Obviously you can imagine the problems this causes if javascript is unable to run.

The first thing I did was go into internet settings and check that active scripts were enabled, and they were. So i tired turning them on and off to see if that made a difference, it didn't.

I then had a look online and found that I should run the following .dll files with the 'run' program.

regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 mssip32.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 Dssenh.dll
regsvr32 Rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 Gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 Sccbase.dll
regsvr32 Slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 Cryptdlg.dll

regsvr32 ole32.dll

I'm not entirely sure of what that was meant to do, maybe replace or lookup an existing file, but that didn't work either.

I'm really stuck on what to do, all other forums I've searched have given the same solutions which don't work. Also, this problem doesn't occur on my account, only my mums and dads.

I have virus scanned, removed adware etc. No threats were found.

Any help on what I could do?

A:Javascript problems (XP, Internet Explorer 7)

It's possible the accounts have become corrupt.

Try creating a new user account for your 'mum' or dad and transfer data from the possibly corrupt account to the new.

A:Enabling Javascript While Using Internet Explorer 6

Try doing the following:Open up Internet ExplorerSelect the Tools TabClick on Internet Options Select the Advanced TabScroll down until you see a section titled Java (Sun), an icon that looks like a purple cup with steam coming out of it will be next to the section.Make sure there is a check in the box underneath the it (it'll say something like Use Java 2 v ....).I don't know if it'll fix you're problem, but it's something I thought of. Also, make sure you have the latest version of Java installed (version 5 Update 6). To do this, perform the following steps:Open up your Control PanelLaunch the Add/Remove Programs ApplicationSearch for J2SE Runtime Environment 5 Update 6. If you don't have it or have a different version, please go to http://www.java.com/en/ and download the latest version.

Hi all,

I was messing around with my system and now Internet Explorer 7 displays javascript poorly... javascript buttons do not function nor do some pages load correctly.

I've done system restores, registered ie ini files, uninstalled Internet Explorer 7 (reverting to IE6) helped nothing.... I've even tried reinstalling Internet Explorer 7, to no resolve.

Most of all Windows applications (ie. Help and Support, Application License Agreements) which relies on the functionality of javascript and Internet Explorer, do not function.
Anyone have any suggestions? Reinstalling windows is not an option.

I have two servers (Windows Server 2012), each of them have the same webapp installed on them. On some part of webpage, there are some buttons that onClick do show() or hide() content.
Both these servers have the same IE (version 11.0.9600.18378). The problem is, when i access the A webapp from the A server through IE, these buttons do not work and no
javascript errors appear in the console. When i access the B webapp from the B server everything works fine. When i access the A webapp from the B server again everything works fine.
So the conclusion was that the IE of A server had some misconfigurations. I have checked the settings of both IE and set them the same but the problem still exist.
Also note that on any other browsers i have tried everything works fine too.
If anyone has any suggestions as to what might be the problem i would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance.

I was visiting some Asian sites via search engine, and somewhere along the way there must have been a site with Javascript code that affected my Internet Explorer 5.5

Now the very top of my Internet Explorer browser always reads "Chinese Music At Sailingmoon.com" and there doesn't seem to be anything I could do to get rid of this message.

The only thing I could think of to resolve this problem is by editing my registry files, but I've never done this before (and wouldn't know how to do so safely). And this is very risky.

Is there a simpler or alternative solution that I could try?

PLEASE HELP ME. Thank you.

A:Desperate to delete this Internet Explorer / Javascript artifact!

Hi ocplayers. Welcome to TSG. I hate to tell you this, but you are indeed going to have to do a little registry editing. Follow the instructions in this MS article to regain your original IE windows title:

But before you do that you should Backup the registry key that you are going work with. Here's how to do it:

Open up the Registry Editor (Start>Run>type in regedit>Ok) In the Registry Editor highlight the Registry Key you are going to be working with (folder in the left pane), click on the "Registry" Toolbar button up top and choose "Export Registry File". Give it a name and save it. To Export a registry file means that you are making a copy of the key you are going to change, and then you save it somewhere safe and convenient, like the Desktop or My Documents. I created a folder in My Documents called "Deleted Registry Keys" for keys that I've modified or deleted. If the Registry changes you made have bad effects, you can always go find the Registry keys (.reg files) you saved and rightclick and Merge (or doubleclick) and change the Registry keys back to what they were originally before you made the changes.

If you need any help with any of the procedures listed in the MS article, just let us know.
Good luck. sharon

Recently many of the sites that I visit have the empty box with a small red X in it in place for images. At first I thought it was just the site but now it's happening on almost all sites that have a lot of images. I usually have to refresh the page three or four times before they all show up properly. It doesn't to seem to be any specific type of image I cant view. It happens with both JPEGs and GIFs.

So then I thought that it could possibly be my firewall. So I disabled it and refreshed the page again but that didn't work. So I decided to come here and get some help if possible. It is getting very frustrating.

I have a windows vista premimum loaded laptop with internet explorer 8 installed. Everything was working fine up to a point when i had to reset the internet explorer settings to its default.

Prior to the reset, I was able to add favorites and view the favorites in my address bar asi begin to type the letters. But after the reset, this behaviour stopped.

I have tried the autocomplete path. The address bar and the favorites check box are ticked under tools > options > content > settings. I un-checked clicked ok and checked back again, just to make sure that it gets reset in the registry. But still I cannot get the favorites to display in address bar as I type.

This happened before and I followed a registry tweak which corrected the behavoiur. Unfortunately I cannot find the link anymore and I did not add it to favorite !!. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks

A:[SOLVED] Internet Explorer Favorites not showing up !!

Ok, Looks like either no has a solution or no one has bothered to reply. Anyways, for the benefit of others who might have faced the same problem, find below the solution that I figured out.

In IE go to Tools > Internet Options > Content.
Click Settings under Auto Complete
Make sure Address Bar is ticked and so is Favorite.
But most importantly, make sure that "Use Windows Search for better results" is un-ticked.

Click OK and OK again.

Now you will be able to see favourites appearing in the address bar.

Thanks for viewing.

Hello all.
First time here and probably not the last on account of Murphy's Law.
My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (x64).
I installed IE11 with no problems.
Once completed, I rebooted but could not locate the IE desktop icon.
Inspected the Internet Explorer folder. All files seem to be there including the .exe file. After clicking on this IE11 .exe file, nothing happened.
Checked the Control Panel to ensure IE11 was in fact installed and that it was "activated." All in order.
This is a mystery as I have used previous versions of IE without any problems.
Any attempts, to resolve this glitch, will be appreciated greatly. Cheers.

I don't have this problem on any other computer (which has Firefox installed).

Ok, this question has been asked around many corners of the Internet and these forums and I haven't found a "real" answer so I'm asking it again and hopefully seeking a final resolution to the problem.

When "Protected Mode" is turned On, users are unable to view some folders in the file upload dialog that they can normally view (e.g. under Documents, Pictures, etc.).When viewing the same folders in Explorer running as the same user as the Internet Explorer instance, the missing folders are viewable.Launching Internet Explorer "as an administrator" allows the user to view the missing folders (but this is not recommended due to security concerns).
So far, the workaround that I found was to either run some crazy tool from BleepingComputer called Unhide that resets everything on your system -- this is the sledge hammer-to-thumbtack approach.  Another one was to go into Organize > Folder and
search options > View and uncheck the hide options and select the show radio option.  The last one was to search for the folder in the file upload dialog, right-click the folder, and uncheck Hidden.
None of these, IMHO, are valid solutions to the real problem which is that something is special about this folder that is causing IE in Protected Mode to treat the file as Hidden.
The last "workaround" seems to indicate that the "hidden" file attribute is set for the file, but this doesn't app... Read more

Sometimes, I can end Internet Explorer with the "End Task" button, but other times, I have to go to the process and kill it. Sometimes, an hour goes by without a single problem, but sometimes the ads are just a minute apart. Strangely enough, they're in French (my language).
My computer is also slower in general, especially Firefox.
I tried following the instructions in this post, as the problem was quite similar to mine, but to no avail.

Hi there,

My problem is My Internet Explorer 7, For some reason I do not know if its a Javascript problem or what it Doesn't show Javascript related links or if they do show javascript links when I click them Nothing happens. For Instance I play this online game called "ijji GunZ The Duel" which is ijji - Where Gamers Unite! and before that theres a short advertising page kinda before it proceeds and theres a link that says "Skip to http://gunz.ijji.com" when I try to click it nothing Happens AT All. And at sometimes when i go to gunz.ijji.com the original page will automatically be there but when i sign in The page is Blank or If I'm Lucky and im signed in i click the "Play Live" Button and nothing happens (Btw The "Play Live" Button is a button when you click it which launches the GunZ game launcher.) And Also On MSN when i right-click My little MSn icon on the taskbar and Click Email Inbox Internet Explorer opens up but shows nothing just a blank page so my thought is its a Javascript Problem

If anyone is out there Please Help me!

I tried Registry Mechanic 8 Repaired all the errors still didn't work,
Tried CCleaner,
Advanced Systemcare v3,
Checked if IE is allowing Active Scripting which was already Enabled
Before I was using IE 8 but downgraded to IE7 Still isn't working,

Also, My Firefox Also works perfectly with Youtube Videos and the gunz site but Too bad I can't use Firefox to play the gunz online game i need to use IE.

I've had a couple of problems doing searches in the past few days but most of them seem to be ok now. However, one thing hasn't returned and I know it's not a major problem but I would like to get it back. Previously when I did a search and the various websites are listed, they would show up with the relevant details including telephone numbers and the country flag beside the telephone number which easily showed where the website was based. However, the country flag details are not appearing anymore beside the telephone numbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

A:Searches on Internet Explorer 8 / Windows 7 Home - Country Flags showing in Searches

Never seen this before and it is most likely a third party search engine.
What search engine, Bing, Yahoo, Google or what are you using to do these searches?

Dopes anyone know of a way to find the dimensions of a window in explorer using JS? What I'd like is the equivalent of the innerHeight property available in NS.

I'm also looking for a solution that would work in version 5 upwards (4 would be nice but too much to hope for!)

I am hoping that I am posting this in the correct area. My wife has a laptop that will connect wirlessly and show internet pages on our home network but when we are traveling, even at her parents, he laptop shows as being connected to the wireless network but does not show internet pages or allow her to surf the net. This only happens away from our home network. Any ideas on how to fix this? It is a Dell laptop is that makes a difference.(Moderator edit: added Topic Description.jgw)

A:showing connected but not showing internet pages

I've had good luck with similar issues by clearing out its saved networks, then trying to connect again.

If I had the OS, I could tell you how to do so... hint, hint

Hi, Struggling with some odd behavior on my website under Explorer, but works fine under Netscape. From my home page:

when a section is selected from the pulldown menu at the bottom, it begins on a fresh screen under Netscape (as its supposed to), but under Explorer, no fresh screen, and the viewer has to scroll down below the home page! Subsequent section selections work fine under both - its just the first selection under Explorer that problem occurs.
a setUp function is called in each section to activate the section page. In that function is a statement: parent.frames[0].document.clear()
which presumably begins the fresh screen ...
How can I brute force Explorer to begin the first selected section on a fresh screen?
Thanks for any help - it is driving me nuts! Feel like I am developing a videotape that must work under Betamax and VHS ! Learning as I go ...

Hello RonB23,I see that you have an HJT log posted here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/183113/internetjava-problem/ We do not allow more than one topic for the same computer and the same issue as this causes confusion, and in this case may make the disinfection process more difficult. This leaves you with a choice:1) Have this thread reopened and the HiJack This log topic deletedOR2) Keep this thread closed and wait for assistance in the HiJack This log forum. Please note that that forum is VERY busy. Please send a Private Message indicating your choice.Assuming you wish assistance in the HiJack This forum, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer. From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean. Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you ...
