Audio works, but now bass or lower frequencies

Q: Audio works, but now bass or lower frequencies

Hi, ive had this laptop for a while now, and a few months ago the audio was working just fine when i was producing my music, i plugged in my microphone, guitar hitch, i even set up a new maschine micro mk2 and it all worked fine with low latency. I didnt change the latency and a few weeks after letting my computer sit, i came back and tried to go onto soundcloud, and the audio wasnt working right. The audio came out, but it was like the bass had been manualy turned off. I preveously owned a macbook so if you could please elaborate and explain how to fix the problem or what is happening, that would be greatly appreciated.

My Windows 8.1 laptop, fitted with an Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN wireless adapter, suddenly stopped automatically connecting to my router a few months ago. I attempted to connect wirelessly to multiple other routers, all to no avail. My laptop could only connect through an ethernet cable/tethered hotspot. I then moved houses and got the internet set up on a new provider and suddenly my laptop could connect wirelessly again! Sadly, after trying to connect to my university's wi-fi, I found out that the laptop wasn't fixed, it was simply able to connect to my new 5Ghz internet but still had trouble connecting to 2.4Ghz access points.

I've tried everything I can to fix this as my laptop is too vital to my studies for me to be without it even for a short period of time, therefore sending it off for diagnostic and repairs is out of the question for now. So far I have tried:

Installing the latest Windows 8.1 drivers for the card (currently on v.
Replacing the wireless card with a new one (same make and model)
A complete, fresh re-installation of Windows 8.1

Running out of ideas on what to try and so turning to the community for help. Even if you're not sure of a fix, determining the problem itself would also be a big help. Thanks much in advance!

A:Laptop can't connect to 2.4Ghz frequencies, only 5Ghz frequencies

Try the latest wireless driver from the laptop manufacturer's web site.

If that doesn't work then try the latest driver directly from Intel's site.

I just got a new computer...with Realtek HD Audio. Specifically: Realtek ALC888S.

The computer has no bass. Music played through YouTube, Winamp, WMP, iTunes, or through games have essentially nothing coming out of the sub.

I do have 5.1 selected, that is what my setup is.

Here is the weird thing. When I plug my MP3 Player into the Line-In and play through there, the bass sounds great. When I play from inside the computer, there is none. Can anyone point me to some places to look inside the Realtek HD Audio Manager? I can't seem to find anything useful in there at all.

A:Realtek HD audio, no bass

have you checked the bass management and swap bass and center option? you might want to try checking those option to check if it bring back the bass.

btw also try the 5.1 speaker test to check if all channels sound properly.

Hi,I recently installed a driver to reinstall beats audio and improve the sound quality on my laptop, and it was working fine up until just recently. Now, the audio sounds tinny with no bass to speak of. I was wondering if there was a fix for this, and if it would be easier to just delete the beats audio codec and replace it with the generic one instead? I am not too computer savvy, so I tried to the best of my ability to resolve it by turning beats audio on and off, enabling/disabling the audio codec, but that has not done any good. Would someone be able to help me out? My computer also updated recently to OS build 14393.447Thanks!

My system specs are on my profile.

My integrated audio is: Realtek ALC898

I have used both the R2.71 driver from Realtek directly and Realtek High Definition Audio Driver from MSI both are the latest drivers available for Windows 8 64bit.

When playing music from any media player WMP, VLC, Winamp, etc.. The vocals are very muffled and the bass is way too high.

I have no options of lowering the bass. Changing the Equalizer in the Realtek HD Audio Manager to Treble helps out a little making vocals a tad clearer and dropping the bass.

My speaker system is a Altec Lansing 2.1 external speaker set using auxiliary.

I did not have these issues on Windows 7 64bit. Only experienced the problem on Windows 8.

Any suggestions or ideas?? I am running out of hope! I would prefer not to have to downgrade or get a dedicated sound card.

A:Audio Muffled & Bass too High

Win 8 uses the same drivers as Win 7 and should work the same.

What is "Altec Lansing 2.1 external speaker set using auxiliary"? You should be connecting the speaker system to the GREEN speaker jack only.

Do you have any Sound Effects enabled (in the RealTek HD Audio Manager)? Disable any if you do.

Did you install the Intel motherboard chipset drivers? The drivers need installed for proper operation, as one of the main things the drivers do is properly identify all the devices on the motherboard.

Heya guys, not sure if this is the right place to put this....
Anyways, I may butcher some terminology here but, my motherboard came with Realtek Audio for the sound software(?). The audio manager for it kinda sucks and it just gives me a bunch of childish options like making it sound like I am in a bathtub or a sewer pipe. I just want to turn the bass down a little bit. Is there any software that could let me do this? Am I missing something basic?

Ive just got an Horizon IdeaCentre all in one and have connected my external 5.1 speakers via USB. Unlike my previous Lenovo pc, if I go into the Realtek Audio Manager I can only change the built in internal speakers and it doesn't give me an option to select my own speakers so am unable to change bass, treble, acoustics, etc. Any suggestions as to how I can change these audio settings would be appreciated.

Hello, I have an Hp Envy notebook, product #G0U23AAR, and it's having issues with audio output. As received, it was compressing audio output - making quiet passages louder, and making loud passages quieter, 'compressing' the range of volumes within a song to even them out.  This occurred for both speaker output and headphone output. I inquired previously aout this, here:  http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/Audio-compression-on-HP-Envy/m-p/5441048 But I was mistaken when I declared the issue fixed.  The driver I loaded that time did improve the speaker sound, but later I realized it was still compressing on the headphone output. So I found this thread:  http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/HP-Envy-unwanted-audio-compression/td-p/2270281 I followed the first suggestion - to update the driver again.  I went to http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/ and found the latest driver, sp69618.exe, dowloaded it, ran the exe to install the driver.  Same result - good sound on speakers, still compressed on headphones. So I followed the next suggeston in that thread - to delete the driver and let Windows find and install the driver it thinks is best on restart.  This loaded a different driver.  The headphone sound was massively improved - no more compression, decent tone, even improved stereo separation.  BUT - no the sound out of the speakers is thin, lacks base, and I can find no audio controls t... Hi here's my situation. I'm using a computer right now with only two usb plugins. (The mouse and keyboard ports don't work) so I use a USB keyboard and mouse. The speakers I have require USB too, to power it.I could buy one that plugs into a A/C port instead or buy a USB hub but I really don't want to right now.

So what I'm using for sound right now is a subwoofer that plugs into an A/C port for power, it sounds like crap on youtube because there is obviously too much bass. But on windows media player where there is an equilizer, if I turn the two first bars down the sound actually comes out pretty good and clear.

Yeah, I'm a cheapass haha. But what I'm wondering is there some type of UNIVERSAL audio controller I can download where I can turn the bass down all the way so I can listen to stuff on youtube and everything else with clearity.. Really I just want to turn the bass all the way down but I don't think the audio control windows comes with has that option.

A:advanced audio control? (turn bass down on my PC)??

Depending on your sound hardware and driver, sometimes there is a separate configuration panel for your sound hardware and sometimes, e.g Realtek, a global EQ is provided.

Hello, I have an HP Envy notebook, product number G0U23AAR, running Windows 8.1.  It's producing strange audio effects. As received, it was compressing the audio - that is, making quiet spots loud and making loud spots quiet so that output was the same level always.  In both the speakers and the headphones. I posted about this before:  http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/Audio-compression-on-HP-Envy/m-p/5445010#M72736 And after closing that thread I realized that I was mistaken about it being fixed -  sound was excellent using the speakers, but the compression problem remained when using headphones. So I found this thread:  http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/HP-Envy-unwanted-audio-compression/td-p/2270281/page/3 Following the advice therein, I went here:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/  and got the latest driver for my machine, sp69618,  and downloaded and ran the exec.  No change. So I tried the other method described in that thread - deleted the Real Tek device, restarted the machine, and let Windows find and install the driver it prefers.  This fixed the sound in the headphones - excellent -  but then there was no bass when using the speakers. I have tried all other suggestions in that thread, to no avail. Has HP developed a reliable fix to this yet?  Thankyou.

Hello, I've been having a problem with my static and distortion in my audio, particularly when the audio playing is heavier on bass. I can consistently play the same movie/music/whatever and it'll crackle at the exact same time. I've tried different speakers, so I know it's not that. Changing my audio drivers to 'High Definition Audio Drivers' as opposed to the 'Realtek High Definition Audio' eliminates the problem entirely. Changing drivers is actually one of the top solutions you get when you Google the problem. Unfortunately, Windows Update keeps on reverting my drivers back to the Realtek drivers (as they're more specific to the hardware), and the problem returns. I can't seem to disable the specific driver update. Even getting the drivers directly from Realtek also gives me the same ridiculous Bang & Olufsen tray app with its horrible equalizer/compression that's causing the distortion. When will these drivers be updated? It seems like I can't even install the vanilla Realtek drivers without being roped into the Bang & Olufsen equalizer that's causing so many problems. It seems like it would be easy to add a toggle setting to the tray app so I can use the proper drivers without the heavy-handed compression. Please, if you know of any way of disabling those settings, even if it's outside of the GUI, let me know. I'm sure others are interested. The latest drivers for my machine are from August 2015 - and they exhibit the... Read more

Hey guys, I just had this happen to me and I am very frustrated. Nothing like this has ever happened before, so I don't know how to go about fixing it. I love listening to music and watching videos on my laptop, but a few days ago, everything started to sound like total crap. I realized that it's because nothing had any bass to it anymore. I've tried plugging in various headphones and speakers, but they all have the same problem. Note that all of these headphones and speakers work perfectly when plugged into other devices/computers.

I used this YouTube video to test my audio and I could not hear anything below 80Hz.

Check the configuration of the Beats Audio. It is an "enhancement" to the basic PC sound. Beats is known for boosting bass, so another reason to check the Beats configuration.

Hello All

I have a dell inspiron 531 with windows vista home premium. i have a Realtek ALC888 HD Audio sound card.

recently, the audio when i play music has been malfunctioning, and the bass suddenly cuts out, leaving only a tinny, muted sound playing. i tried a different player, to no avail. this happened 4 months ago, and dell resolved the situation, although i forgot how.

we (dell and I) installed the updated driver (as of this month), and that did not work. we then system restored to the day before when I the latest quicktime, but this did not work either.

a minute ago I tried to install the new version of the driver again, and that did not work either. I am out of ideas. Does anyone know what could be the issue?

Thank you all,

A:Realtek ALC888 HD Audio driver for Vista - no bass

After installing the new driver twice, I checked the properties for it, and it still says that the driver date is in 2006. Does this mean that the new driver hasn't installed?

The driver is the only thing I can think of that would be causing my bass to be totally non-existent when I play sound.

Any ideas friends?

I would like to disable the Beats Audio feature, as it is known to change certain volumes and mess with the sound. For example, I noticed that the bass is often muddled and overpowering. However, when I disable it in the Beats Control Panel, the bass suddenly disappears, despite my external equalizer (not the one in the Beats control panel) being neutral. How can I fix the bass problem, or completely remove the Beats features from my laptop? I have looked into past threads on this subjects, but unfortunately the fixes mentioned no longer work with the current drivers/Windows. For example, the IDT drivers that were mentioned are now gone, instead I only have Realtek drivers. EDIT: I have disabled all sound effects in the Windows Sound enhancements tab, this seems to negate some of the changes of disabling Beats Audio. Is this a viable fix?

Recently I upgraded Windows to the new Anniversary Update. However, when I turn on Bass Boost in the Sound settings, there seems to be a weird crackling sound when playing a video, just as if my headphones are broken or can't play enough bass. I believe this has to do with Windows, as I found a really weird thing - if I go to the settings and disable Bass Boost, then enable it again, the video plays out fine. Until I play another video - then the sound is crap again. And so, every time I play a video I have to re-enable the Bass Boost to get a decent sound.
This happens both with the default audio drivers and with the suggested Conexant drivers on the manufacturer's website.
Before I upgraded Windows there was no issue.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have this ready built office pc "Dell Precision T1600", quite nice setup, but i have a problem with the sounds, ive encountered this problem years ago with the same integrated Realtek HD Audio device.

For awile now it has annoyed me alot that the sound levels keep changing from bass, say a song where you got strong vocals before the bass kicks in, the vocals are loud and clear, but when the bass starts kicking, the vocals are supressed for atleast -50% volume, when the bass eases up, vocals and other background sound volume rises again.

What i have tried:
Remove/reinstall drivers, adjust the bass volume control on the subwoofer, change speakers, try the same speakers on another pc, try the speakers on my mobile phone, fiddled with all kinds of settings ive found on windows and realtek hd control (returned them back to normal).

It works great on other pcs with a different sound card, and the sound was actually best on my mobile phone.

My solution is to buy a new good sound card, but meanwhile it would be nice to just get it working better. This pc only has plugin holes for 1 sound and 1 mic cables, might be the problem, but it doesnt explain how it works on a laptop with the same holes.

A:Realtek HD Audio integrated problems with vocal/bass balance

The Precision line is designed to be a business workstation. But, it should sill function properly.

Whether the Realtek hardware is the problem or something else?

Realtek just issued R2.78 drivers. I would give them a try and see how they work. ONLY use the Windows Media Player and on a known good song file. Do not have other media programs running or be on line. Just the basic computer to see how it works.

My audio jack recently broke, so I'm using a USB "sound card", which basically converts a USB port into an audio jack. Everything's working just fine, the problem is that it is way too loud. I'm using a pair of ear buds and VLC media player to play my music, and both are set to 1%, but the music is still much too loud. When I set both to max, I can literally use my ear buds as an external speaker. I would like some sort of way to decrease my audio output by like 99%, because it's just about 100 times too loud.

i've run out of space in my pc and flash drives to store anymore files so im using my mp3 player. question is, will storing tehm in it lower the sound quality when i move the audio files back on my pc?

A:Can storing audio files on a mp3 player lower the sound quality?

If the files are simply copied across without any conversion, then no, you won't lose any quality.

If the files are converted to a lower quality format when they are transferred to the mp3 player, eg .wav files to .mp3, or high bitrate mp3 to lower bitrate, then the sound quality will be lower, and cannot be recovered from the converted files if the higher quality originals are deleted.

I've just finished transfering some music to my computer from old audio cassette tapes that I recorded years ago.

Years ago I recorded those tapes in segments on different days, and I'm finding the recorded volume levels were not consistent between recording "sessions". Some songs are Much louder than others(almost blowing my ears off when they start)compared to the previous song.....and in some cases, the Right or Left stereo channels were WAY lower than the other one making a Very poor mix.

Now that I have these stereo WAV files on my computer, is there a program that I can use to edit the volume levels of the individual audio files to make them all more even?

And also to boost or decrease the volume level of one of the (Rt. or Lt.)stereo channels to get a better stereo mix?

I am constantly having this problem with my laptop. As I plug in and unplug my headphones throughout the day, I've noticed that after a couple times the bass gets really quiet and almost completely drops out. Since I have some pretty decent audiophile headphones with really great bass, it is super annoying and noticeable.
One workaround I have discovered is to go to the audio settings (either in Windows or the Dell Audio app), and switch the Default Format (the thing with 24-bit, 48000Hz in it)  to something else, play some audio, then switch it back.
A little word on my setup: I have the latest drivers from the Dell download page installed. I am running Windows 10 64-bit with all the updates. I have Waves Maxx audio "enhancements" disabled. My Default Format is usually set to 24-bit 48000Hz, but the problem eventually happens no matter what I set it to. The "headphone size" option is set to "Medium", but as far as I can tell this option does nothing if I do not have Waves Maxx enabled. Switching it also does not fix the problem.
If I play audio using WASAPI (this basically means that the music player takes over the sound card completely, and bypasses whatever audio processing Windows and the driver has) the problem does not happen.
How do I fix this problem? It's incredibly annoying, and most likely has something to do with the audio driver, since this does not happen in Linux, and it did not happen when I was runn... Read more

No sound.
Little speaker with the red 'x' appeared yesterday
I have gone through the whole update drivers circus to no avail, my laptop can't detect that it has speakers built in so it doesn't bother finding a driver for them.

This is where I am at:
- Intel Display Audio is the only driver installed for sound
- This means that sound works when the laptop is plugged into an HDMI
- When HDMI is not plugged in, the computer cannot find the built in speakers.
- I have Linux on this system and audio does not work there as well

I would call this a broken chipset, but the fact that the computer still processes audio with the HDMI cable attached is confusing me. Also, the 'audio board' for this laptop has 2 usb ports attached to it, and those both work fine.

Any help would be appreciated

I have no system audio or audio icon in the system tray, nor can I hear internet videos, although volume works fine for mp3's played in mediaplayer and the internet videos are viewed with no problem. I did some online research on the audio problem and thought I had found a problem with Windows Service Pack 3. I reinstalled it and got my audio back for a time, but then the icon disappeared again and I lost audio. I'm assuming these viruses/worms are causing the problem but I can't seem to rid my system of them. I have had success with combofix in the past but now I'm getting an error that I don't have a compatible operating system. My system also is giving me problems connecting to the internet at times, althought there are no connectivity issues found. Various and sundry other little glitches have occurred, too numerous to mention, and usually go away. I have removed any applications which were recently added as I felt these might be causing a conflict or, indeed, had installed the virus in question. Nothing I'm doing seems to be correcting my problems and I am desperate for help. I tried running the dds script before posting but my system doe... Read more

A game i was playing's website got infected with some type of malware, and ever since that happened and i was on it, I've been getting popup ads in the lower left and the lower right corners of my screen, no sound or anything. Occasionally i get redirects as well. I ran a malwarebytes quick and full scan and got nothing, a Microsoft security essentials scan and got nothing, and a adwcleaner scan and got nothing. I saw some other people had this problem, even on this website but they used combofix, which i'm not suppose to use unless told to. So yeah, hope you guys can help :3. 'Quick edit, the ads were from ad.yieldmanager, and ad.xtendmedia, if it matters.

Hi all
Quick question if i may, this is really baffling me. I have onboard sound on my xfx 750i mobo. ( realtek, i believe) i have installed the latest drivers and for some reason i have this strange problem. If i have my speakers plugged in the back of the PC. the sound is really good. Good quality, then for some reason the audio will cut out then after a few seconds it will come back on. No matter what im listening too, music, watching a film etc... allways does it. Theres no pattern to it, i can listen to a whole song with out pause, then the next song will do it throughout. Also im my gaming (CSS) the audio is nowhere near as good as what it was in vista/xp, i cant hear as much as what i used to be able too, yet when i listen to music, when its not cutting out the quality is fantastic.
I tried my headphones in the front socket, now if i use my headphones the sound does not cut out, however regulary it seems that sound goes low and then comes back as if it is wanting to cut out but doesnt.

Hope someone can help and that post actually made sense lol

A:Audio works, then stops then works again

I wonder if it's a flakey (bad) connection somewhere. Have you reseated (unplug then plug back in) the speaker connection to the PC's sound? Same way there is a cable from the front panel that plugs into the motherboard.

Hey all, this is my first post here, its great to be here!

I just purchased a new motherboard, cpu, and memory (wanted to finally switch from AMD)
I purchased the Core 2 Quad 6600, Gigabyte P35-DS3P, and 2x1GB of Ballistix Tracer
I have Windows XP Pro w/ all current updates

The speed of the memory is DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
and my motherboard supports DDR2 1066 and dual channel memory

When I run CPU-Z it says Max Bandwith for each stick is PC2-6400 (400mHz)
The timings are :
Frequency 533mHz, CAS Latency 5

is the frequency correct? it seems slower, i mean my old pc-3200 memory was running at 400mHz CAS latency 2.5.

Just wondering what I would need to change in the BIOS, this mobo's got great OC'ing tools

Thanks for looking appreciate any help!

a few months ago I assembled my PC,my Asus z270e board , this MB supports 3000mhz ram frequencies so I went up i was using that XMP profile
But I had problems for playing, crashes, freezes or close alone, in the end i can not play, this happend every 10 -30 min, sometimes when the game started, I thought it was my PC, so I format it, I uploaded and downgraded the version of Windows and nothing too, in the end by discarding I realized that this was the XPM profile.!! now im using the stock frecuencie yesterday, I played 24 hours without crashes everythings OK,!! so if my MB withstands these frequencies of 3kmh. why is it causing me problems?

Is it possible to pick up radio frequencies and interference on computers? I opened my Windows Media Player today and heard, very quietly, a talk radio show and was flabbergasted. It has never, ever, ever happened before. I don't listen to internet radio so I don't know what it could be. Completely dumbfounded over here.

A:Radio frequencies?

Yes, it is possible. Computers are an FCC Class 15, sub-part B product, which means that while they may not cause interference in other products, they must accept any interference caused by something else. That's why your PC can pick up talk radio. You were either picking up a local radio station, or something nearby was radiating that signal.

That's it in layman's terms. You can look up the officialese in your owner's manual if you like.

A couple of months ago, I built a capable gaming rig (E8500, ATi HD4850, 4GB PC-6400 RAM on a Gigabyte EP35-DS3L with Vista x64), and set it up. It was my first time building a computer from scratch on my own, but I made it and recently overclocked my CPU.

I intended to overclock it to 3.6GHz, and it looked like that in the BIOS but using CPU-Z, it reported it at 6 x 380.0 MHz or 2280 MHz. It does change to the 3.6GHz at times in the program, but never in the output file. I'm assuming this is because of some energy saving thing? The mobo did come with an energy saving program, but I disabled it and stopped it from starting on boot, but I guess I may have not gotten rid of it properly.

CPU-Z also reports that my RAM is PC-5300 (333 MHz x 2), even though the RAM was sealed (at least, it looked like it). My CPU-Z output file is attached, if you want to take a look at it.

A:Unsure about CPU and RAM frequencies

Could you post pictures of your BIOS settings? First of all the frequency section... And then of other sections, so we could find the CPU slower option.

A:RAM Frequencies Problem

Indeed the board does but as is shown
4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 3866(O.C.)/3733(O.C.)/3600(O.C.)/3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3300(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
* Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
* Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists

all except 2400 and 2133 are OC

Your processor
Memory Types DDR4-2133/2400, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V
supports those none OC at SPD - serial presence detect

So your ram although I do not know which exact model of Vengeance it is - as explained in your motherboard manual must when OC not only be configured alone for ram but as part of the sophisticated procedure on that motherboard - where if you wish you can simply use the 5 step automated process explained on your manual
Have you checked if your Corsair ram is on the QVL list from Asus
That list cannot of course list all ram that will work with that board, but what is listed has been tested by Asus

This presumes the problem existed - not only on one or two games but across the board

Hi y'all,
I recently bought a bluetooth adapter for my speakers, so that I can play from my phone or PC without connecting cables. Works great, except that on the PC my bluetooth mouse conflicts with the speaker -- when I move, click or scroll the audio pops and cuts out. I'm guessing it's because they're on the same frequency, but I'm wondering if there's any way I can adjust that so that they don't conflict. Any help is appreciated!

A:Bluetooth frequencies conflicting

Are you using the same BT adapter for both the speakers and mouse?

my mother board supports pc2-5300 pc2-6400 and pc2-8500

The specs of my computer is in my signature. The freq. in which my ram is suppose to run is 1200Mhz. I'm trying to figure out how i can get it to actually run at that speed. When i go into the bios it allows me to either set it to auto or 400, 553, 667, 800, or 1066Mhz but nothing higher. When i set it to auto during startup it says DDR2 667 however when i set it to the 1066Mhz it says DDR2 400 during startup. How do i go about getting it to run faster?

A:Solved: DDR2 frequencies

it seems that your motherboard only supports up to ddr2 800. =P

Hey peeps!

I just bought another 8gb stick of ram to go with my other 8gb. Whats installed in there right now is the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz 8gb. The one i purchased is Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400mhz 8gb. My motherboard being a MSI Z170a sli pl. Will The 2400 mhz stick work with the 3200mhz? If so how would i go about installing it? Do i dual link it, or single? Go into bios set timings with the 3200mhz?voltage?
Or will putting in the Stick automatically adjust the to what it needs to be?

A:Installing Ram same brand different frequencies

It should work but both sticks will run at the lower speed of 2400MHz.

Are you in Poland ? (Looking online for your motherboard found only Polish websites).

I have this 13yr old monitor that's working perfectly fine, but I need to know it's vertical and horizontal frequencies.

Unfortunately I do not have any documentation for this monitor, nor is anything mentioned anywhere on it.

I've been using it on WinXP with a resolution of 1024.768 at (I think) 60.

Any help, pls.

If you were running a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and 60 Hz refresh rate, I believe that it is referred to as an XGA video format. The vertical frequency is 60 Hz and the horizontal frequency is about 48.36 KHz
