Lenovo M91p Tower BSOD

Q: Lenovo M91p Tower BSOD

It keeps getting random blue screen of deaths that says critical structure error without a error code. Been using it with windows 10 64bit for 3 years until i updated it and put in a new gpu (EVGA 1060 3gb SC OC), didnt have this problem with new gpu untill recent months. Will downgrading to windows 7 or doing a fresh install of windows 10 fix this issue? Computer specsI5 24008gb ddr3 500gb hdEvga 1060 3gb 400w psu

Preferred Solution: Lenovo M91p Tower BSOD

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I purchased the M91p 7052-A7U tower because of the expansion capabilities.  I would like to add a second internal SATA hard drive, but find it very frustrating to find the part number of bracket to install a 2nd HDD.  This M91p tower is not really nearly as expandable as Lenovo would lead you to believe due to lack of necessary mounting brackets / cables.  Will a generic 5.25" to 3.5" bracket work to install a 3.5" SATA drive below the DVD drive shipped with the tower?  It appears I will also need a SATA data cable, but the required power connector is already available in the PC.  Is that correct?  Also what are my options if I wanted to install the 2nd HDD 3.5" HDD in the open slot similar to the first HDD shipped with the PC? Thank you for any assistance.

A:Adding a 2nd HDD to a tower M91p 7052-A7U

If you need to add additional hard disk then it require the hard drive bracket.

Please find the part number (41R6106) for New optional hard disk drive bracket assembly.

Hello guys I own the think centre m91p mini tower. Now I want to buy the "Gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb mini" and before you ask. Neither the psu and size won't be an issue since I replaced the PSU to a 380 watt unit and card size I mentioned is already a mini version. The only thing that's bothering me is will the bios support this card !? I shall be very thankful to every one who helps me with this. For more idea I'll attach an image of my pc interior. I just got a recent AMD Polaris card (RX 550) for Lenovo ThinkCentre M91p, and it simply doesn't boot with it. It doesn't even get to the starting splash screen with Lenovo logo. The monitor remains blank. I updated the BIOS to the last release I could find but it still didn't help. Can anything be done with it? It works with Nvidia cards, but I'm running Linux and want to use open drivers, so AMD is a much better option. I replaced the power supply by the way with better one.

Hi all I have recently bought a Lenovo M91p thinkcenter Desktop as an upgrade to my old i3 PC. Old Spec is as follows:Coolermaster Thunder 600W power supplyIntel DH55HC motherboardi3 CPURadeon HIS HD 7950 Graphics card8GB RAM500GB HDDI have transferred my old 500GB HD and Power supply to the new Lenovo desktop and everything booted fine. Then I installed 2x 2GB extra into the Lenovo M91p (Making it 8GB), and upgraded the 500GB HDD to a 1TB. So my new spec is as follows:Coolermaster Thunder 600W power supplyLenovo Q67 motherboardi7 2600 3.4 Ghz CPU8GB RAM1TB and 500GB HDDEverything Booted fine. Then I tried to install my old Graphics card (The Radeon HIS HD 7950 Graphics card). All i got was a blank screen, no beeps, no BIOS... Nothing. At first, i thought my power supply wasn't enough... So i tested a 750W power supply in the pc. Still nothing. Then I thought the motherboards BIOS was outdated... Updated it... Still nothing. I even tried updating the firmware of the graphics card. Nothing. The graphics card definitely works because I tested it in my old machine and it worked 100%.However, I took my graphics card to my supplier, and he tested it on another one of his PCs... Didn't work there either. My PC's BIOS doesn't have support for secure boot, in case anyone wants to know.I have run out of ideas now... Any one able to help?

A:Lenovo M91p Desktop not booting with new graphics ...

There's a white list of graphics cards the BIOS will recognize. The HD 7950 is a 180w card, well in excess of what the factory power supply can provide for (and the case/fans sufficient cooling for), and is not one that Lenovo would provide BIOS support for.

Use the search engine above to see what cards other owners have successfully used in their M91p.

Greetings all. I scoured the forums for an answer, but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. To be brief, I own an M91p SFF (Model 3227). I've already maxed out the RAM. I need to upgrade the PSU as much as possible because I'll be running Adobe Creative Suite CS6 (no need for or interest in), and want to install the GT 1030 card. I can't seem to find any definitive PSU information about this machine. So, I'm asking - what is the MAXIMUM watt make and model you've found to use? I've seen posts give some vague information, but not enough so that I can actually order one. Thanks in advance for the help!

Not long ago I purchased an M800 Tower PC. Now I am looking to upgrade some of its parts for gaming. The power supply currently is 250W a FSP250-30AGBAA (or is it SP50A36171, I can't tell). The motherboard is an iq1x0ms, which I would rather not change. My problem is I am looking to install an EVGA gtx 1060 GPU, but am not sure if: a) it will fit the motherboard b) the power supply is adequate or needs to be upgraded c) I will need some sort of 24-pin to 10-pin adapter to fit an alternate power supply to the motherboard. P.S: as a side note I don't believe the current power supply has the connectors needed to install a GPU anyway. Please help, thanks.

Do Lenovo M700 Tower have m.2 slot for SSD?

A:Do Lenovo M700 Tower have m.2 slot for SSD?

Are you referring to the M700 desktop, or the P700 workstation?

If you're asking about the M700, you'll need to post the question to the appropriate forum.  This forum is specific to workstations (ThinkStation).

If you have the P700, then there are no standard M.2 slots integrated on the motherboard.  However M.2 devices can be supported by using either our FLEX connector+M.2 SSD FLEX adapter, or by using M.2 PCIe x4 "carrier" cards.  Note that if you use the M.2 SSD FLEX adapter, you'll also want to make sure you have the front fan assembly installed for proper card retention.

Hi, i'm about to buy  pc and i found a lenovo m83 with pentium hasswell witch i like, but i also have a question regarding sistem ram On the official lenovo product page, it says that this lenovo m83 comes with udimm ram modules, so my question is if i can put "normal" ddr3 dimm memory or it only works with udimm ones? If so, it's bad, because udimm ram is kind of expansive in my country (double/triple when compared with normal ddr3 ones). The internet didin't really answered my question, so i hope that some m83 owner faced the same question and found an answer to it.Some internet users said that CL9 DDR3 ram should work with the sistem (not with udimm ram, sadly ), but if someone has an answer based in previous experience with lenovo pc's or similar/the same product i'll be grateful This sistem fits my today needs ( my pc kind of broke, and i was overdue for an upgrade anyway), but in time i want to change my psu, add a graphic card and put more ram (it only comes with 4 gigs). Regarding the video card and psu lenovo forums provided me with solutions already (other users faced the same problems and those discussions had solution), and now i only have the ram uncertainty. Thank you for your time and i appreciate your answers. I'll upload some pictures of the particular model, so it will be easily recognized by you Also, this is the official lenovo link:http://www.lenovo.com/shop/emea/content/pdf/ThinkCentre/MSeries/2013/M83_DS_EN.pdf

I have just purchased the Lenovo IdeaCentre 510 Tower PC [i7]. It came with Windows 10 Home OS. Within the set up, it asked me whether I wanted to install updates to Windows 10 - i said 'yes'. It took a good couple of hours to complete the whole set up of the desktop, but according to the log, all Windows updates appear to have been successfully installed. (I mention this because I later found something on Lenovo's website about updating to Windows 10 when setting up your Lenovo for the first time - it mentioned trouble which may include the damaging or disabling of hardware? I can't seem to find this again, or else i would post a link. I think this may have been referring to upgrades to earlier windows versions rather than upgrades for Windows 10 applied to a machine which is sold with Windows 10 already installed.) My desktop seems to be up and running but I have just attempted to connect my Seagate Backup Plus portable drive using the USB port and it will not recognise it (I tried this on several ports).  I can feel the Seagate working but it does not show up under My Computer or anywhere else I can see.  I have tested the USB port by inserting a regular USB pen drive and it DOES recognise this. The Seagate previously worked on my Windows Surface Pro 3 with no trouble and I have all of my files backed up on it.  Hope somebody can help me figure out what is going wrong...  Many thanks!

Hey,

I have recently ran into a problem with my computer, a few days ago while moving furniture my couch fell and hit into my PC case, no damage was done to the case but I have been having a few problems since. The PC was running as it was hit, the PC remained on and I was able to use it normally.

I booted my PC up the next morning and was told that windows was unable to load correctly and to either launch into repair mode or start normally, I tried repair mode and it finished but after rebooting again I received the message again. Occasionally while trying to boot up I would see a very quick flash of a Blue Screen but it was not in my mini dump folder.

After hearing that the hit to my PC may have caused damage to my SSD i decided to get it checked out, after having the SSD checked out at a PC Repair Shop, I was told that the SSD was fine but he believed that the cause of the BSOD was a half installed Windows update.

My PC was fine again for about a day but then I got another BSOD this morning, luckily this one has appeared in the minidump folder so hopefully someone will be able to shed a little light on what may be causing this. So far I have not received the "Windows was unable start" message since getting my PC looked at by the Repair Shop.

I have attached the .zip from SF Diagnostic Tool

Thanks in advanced,
prizna

hi, I am going to upgrade my graphic card to ATI 5770 so I need a new power supply which has power about 550--600 watt. But the most frustrating problem is that I failed to find a proper power supply with the correct dimension.
I have an HP pavilion e9300 which uses a very wired power supply tower-150mm(W) 86(H) 140(D). But so far all the PSUs I found is the standard size --150mm(W) 86(H) 150(D) which cannot fit in my setup.

So could any PC God give me some suggestion, please??
Is any PSU with the size of my tower or can I just simply install a bigger PSU which can still successfully power up the comptuer?

Thx in adance.

A:Power supply bigger than the tower - frustrated by HP PSU tower

If the power supply will physically fit your case, it should work fine with your computer. Will the extra 10mm interfere internally with anything inside the PC?

Hello,I can't seem to find specific information about this pc related to this topic. I have a client that wants to have a hdmi port and dual monitor installed. I looked everywhere in the bios settings, I tried using a usb-to-vga adapter & and vga, dvi-d cable & vga (this mirrors both monitors, but cannot extend the display). When I changed the settings on the bios to use the built in graphics, it gives me the option to enable multiple monitors but cannot use my pcie graphic card. If i select to use the pcie graphic card, i cannot use the built in graphic ports or the usb-to-vga adapter (it does not see the other monitor) and also if I use the dvi adpater and the vga it mirrors the display. I'm guessing that the bios does not support dual graphic cards but thought of asking here. The reason the client wants this is to be able to connect a projector using hdmi and to have dual monitors. Any information will be greatly appreaciate it. Thank you.

Need Help Getting Machine to Boot to Windows XP Pro Normally
Currently running 2GB (pair of 1GB) in slots 1 & 2.  This is an upgrade from the last time the machine ran properly when one of the two 512mb, original Memory Modules failed and was sending the 1 - 3 – 2 beep code
When the new memory was installed after the Beep code.  The Beep code went away but the machine would not boot into XP and stopped with a BSOD 7B error.   Some of the suggested trouble shooting was to run Chkdsk.   I was not able to do this from the 670 tower so I loaded the drive into a dell 320 Optiplex  running XP.  I was able to run chkdsk with the /R function to fix and also Fixmbr or fixboot from a Windows XP Pro disc in the 320.  I was then able to boot from this Hard drive on the 320 Optiplex.
When I put the Drive back into the 670 I started getting the BSOD 7b error again so I disabled the Raid Controller and got as far as the 7E error.
I will really show my lack of understanding here
I am now wondering if it was a mistake to disable the Raid (could the drive still be partitioned in a way that there is insufficient storage to boot? Is there a way to re-configure the drive in Raid and restore the missing or corrupt boot sector that I think the 7B error suggest?
BSOD 7E error suggest confirming adequate HD Space.  This machine has a 80GB  western digital hard drive and had about 39 gb in use which has since been reduced to 36 gb. ... Read more

I need usb 3.0 for a vr headset ,can I use startechs pexusb3s25 card?Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GURB4TS/ref=dp_ob_neva_mobile Thanks!

A:3.0 USB for M91p?

Should work perfectly fine.

Don't forget you should connect external power to the Molex connector on the card, in order to provide 900ma power to the USB 3.0 ports.  It says it's "optional" but I'm skeptical, especially depending on what type of external USB 3.0 devices you're planning on using. For my money, better safe than sorry.

I don't know if the M91p has a folded up extra SATA power connector on one of its cables coming from the PSU, but if so you can connect that to the SATA-to-Molex adapter cable they say comes with this card.  Otherwise you'll have to get a Y-splitter for a SATA power connector going to either your internal HDD or optical drive, and connect the second end of the Y to this adapter cable.

Newbie here...I have an M91p and would like to run three monitors. The system has 8gb ram and intel hd 2000. Is this possible? I do not game at all; it is used for business. I was looking at using a displayport to 3x hdmi to hook it up but I am not sure if possible. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I recently acquired a M91p SFF with:i5-24008gb RamAsus eah5450 low profile passOptical drive500gb hdd @7200rpmand 240w PSU So I have been researching a lot about what GPUs will work in my systemI decided to buy the GT730 (to upgrade my old gpu).It has a power consumption of 25w (TDP of 38w) according to the geforce website.I just want to make sure that it will work.Although I am confident it will work because the asus eah5450 has a power consumption of up to 75 watts.I MAY have to update my bios but my concern is that there's no bios update for Windows 10.I am also planning to transfer it to another case and buy a new psu but I am not sure what size the motherboard is (most likely micro-atx) and also the connectors to a new psu would be similar to the stock psu that I currently have The GT730 is on it's way and i'm planning to install it and removing the power to the optical drive (dvd) since I don't use it that often. This is just to make sure that my psu would hold the entire setup. Any suggestions guys? Thanks!

Hello, I was reading some older posts about what gtx is good for the m91p, but didn't find a definite answer. So I guess I am asking what GTX could fit into my m91p. I was thinking about getting a GTX 770 but heard that only low profiles can fit? Is this true?

Hello alli recently upgraded my i7 m91p from 4 gigs ram to 16, the max allowed on my machine. However only 2.8 are usuable, I've been told it's because I'm running 32 bit os, and need to clean install a 64 bit. How would I know if I can install 64, technically if 32 bit only supports 4 gigs and this machine is upgrade able to 16 gigs ram doesn't that mean it will run 64 bit.. How else would it see the ram in 32 bit. Thank you so much
