I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello All, i am sorry for the question again, but after i Upgraded to Windows 10 my Bluetooth not appeared on Device Manager. i tried everything to repair, but all the solutions on the previous posts didn't work for me. when i press Fn+F5 the window appears and the Bluetooth is switched on but srill nothing on Device Manager and also the drivers are not working, i mean i can install drivers but still nothing appears on Device Manager. in the beggining i had only 1 unknown device, but it was the card reader, i found a driver for it and it worked, but i tried everything with the bluetooth, but nothing worked. btw i tried to start Ubuntu just to see if the Bluetooth is working and yes Ubuntu sees my Bluetooth adapter and it is working on it, but when i run Windows 10 nothing helps with the Bluetooth. My Device is: Lenovo G580 20150Thanks in advance

A:Lenovo G580 Bletooth not listed in Device Manager after Windows 10 Upgrade

Dear nedret,
Welcome in lenovo community,
Based on official list of Lenovo systems supported for Windows 10, the G580 is not listed which means most things may work, but we may not have drivers and support for all features and will be limited in our ability to provide Windows 10 support.
In many cases, the Windows 8/8.1 drivers will work.
Also try to Run windows update, sometimes it helps,
Click Start Menu >> Settings >> Update and Security >> Windows Update >> Check for Updates >> Install Updates.
If it does not help, My advice to you, is to go back to the previous windows (Before windows 10 Upgrade) to have all the functions of the laptop working.

I think I have Bluetooth ability but I can't seem to find any evidence of this in the Device Manager. Where would it generally be located?

Thank you

A:Where sould my Bluetooth hardware be listed in Device Manager?

BT shows up in the DM only when enabled. There should be a switch to enable it. I have it in my lappy, once enabled, it showed in my DM. Before that, no trace of it.

Also check whether you have installed the drivers. Try re-installing them.

I had some trouble last night and today with getting rid of a virus. Now that it is gone, I am having sound problems (maybe related, maybe not). This morning, when I opened iTunes I got a message that there was no audio device detected. After trying several things, I rebooted. Magically, I could play music again. However, a short while later, I again got an error message telling me that there is no audio device found, even though it shows up in Device Manager as working properly. The problem goes away for a short time after I reboot, but returns. It is Realtek AC 97. Why won't my computer keep recognizing it?

(It tried going to Realtek's site to download an update. It has updates for Windows 98, 95, etc., but not for XP. Or at least I couldn't find it.)

I'm currently using a Gigabyte Bluetooth USB Dongle. I'm also using the Official PS3 Bluetooth Headset. I'm able to pair both just fine.

Although, I can't seem to find the headset in my Sound and Audio Devices. Yet, when I go into Bluetooth Devices, it recognizes it as a "Wireless Headset" and under it says "Passkey Enabled". What does that suggest? Does that mean it's not connected?

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Have a look here: http://support.asus.com/Download.asp...52Jc&p=3&s=245

Select your operating system from the drop-down list, expand the VGA category and download whichever drivers you want.

I'd be inclined to save them before you install them in case you need them in the future.

XP Pro - I had to replace a wireless optical mouse - now using MS Wireless Optical Mouse 2000. It came with a new receiver.

Now the keyboard MS Wireless Keyboard 3000 won't work. It is not listed in Device Manager and the Hardware section of Keyboard in Control Panel does not list it under Hardware though under Wireless it says the battery level is high.

If I use the original Receiver, nothing works.

I tried re-installing MS IntelliType Pro 5.5 for both but only the mouse works.

Any ideas?

I'm using an dell inspiron laptop with windows vista. Few days back, installed windows Xp professional successfuly. The main purpose I installed xp was to program a microcontroller via the com ports. But to my surprise the com ports were not listed in the device manager in XP! Any help??

A:COM Ports not listed in device manager

Are you sure the laptop actually has a COM Port? Finding a laptop with a COM port newer than a Pentium III model is rare, as they have been all but replaced by USB.

Make sure you're not confusing a VGA port for a COM port. Same size and shape but the VGA has 3 rows of contacts (15 total) instead of 2 rows of contacts (9 total) for a COM port.

If the laptop shipped with Vista I'd be surprised if it did. Even many 4-5 year old laptops that shipped with XP don't have a COM port.

If it does have a COM port, check in the BIOS to make sure it's not disabled

A:CDRW/DVD not listed in device manager

This is a common problem with a simple solution. In Device Manager make sure that DMA is OFF for the CDROM. Also update IDE drivers.
Also try hitting the Windows Key (on keyboard) and Pause key at the same time, or go to control panel and open System. Go to device manager and locate your CD-Rom Drive. D-click it and go to the settings tab. There should be a box where you can check/uncheck Removable. Mine is greyed out so I can't do anything to it. See if your is checked and uncheck it. If not, let us know.

Good luck,

Hey guys, I Recently had Windows 7 installed on one of my computers but the computer isn't very good so I downgraded back to windows xp sp2.

My problem is after Windows Xp installs on this computer it doesn't detect my network device. What I mean by this is there is no network tab or anything listed in the device manager.

My ethernet is built into my mboard which is an EVGA nf66.

I've tried installing all sorts of drivers and combinations of the such and nothing seems to work. The internet worked fine prior to installed xp and has had xp before without this problem.

Also, in the device manager there are 3x devices that are listed with yellow exclamation marks beside them that I am unsure what they are.

-PCI device
-other pci bridge device
-sm bus controller

I previously had another computer with this same exact problem that I couldn't fix as well, the only way I could fix it was to install windows 7.

Please help guys I really need this to work.

I'm am trying to update my firmware for my Sony Optiarc 5500s... basically my Blue Ray dvd rom drive for my Laptop (Asus M70-B1) because a blue ray dvd is not working properly. When Windvd BD starts playing the dvd It says that it could have a 2-3 minute load time based upon the compatabilities of my hardware. It gets through the previews fine but it will not load the main menu of the movie and after a short period of time my Blue Ray dvd rom spins down and ceases to do anything. I let the black screen sit for well over 5-7 minutes and still nothing.

I assume that a firmware upgrade could fix it. I went to

and got my firmware upgrade. It is a flashing tool and when I clicked flash it said "updated failed".
They give an update procedure here:

My problem is that I cannot disable DMA on my DVD rom because I have no channels listed under my "Ide ata/atapi controllers"
I have "Intel(r) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller" (which doesn't seem to contain anything useful" and then controllers for my multi card reader.

My DVD Rom drive is on channel 1. It's using the basic windows drivers and it explains this here:

I'm running Vista Home Premium, Motherboard is Intel PM45 Montevina

A:No IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers listed in my Device Manager

Contact Sony about the issue, it is a Sata Optical drive, and XP-Vista has no method to change the UDMA setting on Sata devices.

The only other suggestion is if there is a way to change it in the bios, unlikely.

I am having a slight issue with my new setup, appears to be driver-side. Every time I restart my computer a window pops up stating that a driver could not be installed for "IDE channel." This box appears six times in which I have to close out. There are six of these "IDE channel" devices listed (under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers) in the Device Manager w/ the little (!) next to them. When I go to install a driver for each of the devices I get "driver is not intended for this platform" or something like that. I don't know what I should do because I'm really not sure what I am looking at exactly. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I've installed all the drivers for my motherboard, graphics cards, and sound card ...all of which work fine. In the Device Manager, I am also seeing two "PCI device" and a single "Unknown" device. The only PCI card I have installed is the Sound Blaster and I installed the drivers for that; it works fine. No idea what the "Unknown" is...

I recently replaced a Logitech mouse with a MS Wireless 5000. After initially installing the 5000, I found that in device manager it was listed twice. This didn't seem to be causing any problems and I left it alone but have since had a few BSODs. Wasn't having any problems before the mouse install.

So I went into device manager and uninstalled one of the entries but did not delete the drivers.

On reboot, there are now two entries again but one is "HID compliant mouse" and the other is "Microsoft USB Dual Receiver Wireless Mosue (IntelliPoint)".

Is it normal to have both of these items listed? If not, how do I stop Windows from installing the second driver on every reboot?

A:2 mouse drivers listed in device manager

Both entries refer to the same mouse and should be left alone.

Your new mouse is a "HID compliant mouse" like every modern mouse, so Windows loads it's own driver for that.

But you've also installed the Intellipoint driver which accounts for the second entry in the 'Mice' category of Device Manager.

I also use a MS wireless mouse but I didn't have to install a driver for it. Windows took care of that (Windows 7), so my Device Manager shows only one mouse entry which is "HID compliant device".

Unless your MS mouse has any special functions with extra buttons, it should work perfectly well for standard functions without the Intellipoint software & driver, in which case you too would have only one mouse entry in Device Manager.

While exploring Device Manager today in my Win 8.1 system I discovered I had three entries listed under Sound, Video and Game Controllers:

(1) AMD High Definition Audio Device
(2) CyberLink WebCam Virtual Driver
(3) Realtek High Definition Audio
Every now and then when my wife is playing some of her Facebook games she says the computer will shut down and restart with a message similar to: "Your PC ran into some problems and needs to restart. We will correct them and restart for you." She says that message is preceded by what looks like a 'sad' happy face.

As an added note in Device Manager under Audio inputs and outputs both my Microphone and Speakers are controlled by Realtek High Definition Audio.

That being said do I really need the two Sound Cards (1) and (3)? If not, which one could I disable?

Thanks and regards,

A:Two sound cards listed in Device Manager

The AMD High Definition Audio Device is for HDMI audio.
The Cyberlink Webcam is for your web cam.

Nothing there that is duplicate or needs disabling.

The problem with the PC ran into some problems has nothing to do with audio. Can't say what that is but its for one of the other forum sections that deals with crashes.

2. While it has a wifi network connection (which works fine), it doesn't seem to have any listing for ethernet (ie wired) connection. (even though it has the port for wired access.)

3. When i look under computer/device manager/networks, all i get is the wifi atheros 9485 network adaptor. There is no other listing. (see attched file for screen grabs)
4. Am i missing something obvious with all this? The Asus website has examples of this model with screen grab which includes an ethernet adaptor as well (see attached file)

Note that laptop is labelled as an X53 series but in the computer it get listed as a K53e - nice and confusing.

A:Sometimes Wifi drivers is not listed in device manager

Hi: A couple of things you can try... 1. Make sure you have the latest W10 Ralink wireless driver installed.  Install and restart the PC. Package contains the driver installation package for the Mediatek (Ralink) wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system. Rev.A http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71571.exe 2. If the adapter disappears from the device manager, see if running this troubleshooting software helps. This package provides HP Sure Connect (HP Wireless Rescue Tool) for supported models running a supported operating system. HP Sure Connect automatically recovers the driver of a communications device that has stopped functioning. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78001-78500/sp78408.exe

I'm really stuck, so I'd appreciate help if someone can give it.

I'm working on someone's computer. I should mention that I am doing this remotely, & I don't have another choice just now.

Due to a whole mess that with his computer, we needed to do a full destructive installation of windows. (XP Pro SP2)

Now, here's the problem. There were no USB devices listed in the device manager in windows after the new installation. There also aren't any unknown devices. There had been one, for audio, but I've fixed that.

The computer is older & the motherboard is a Microstar International MS-6738. I went to their site. i've run their live update multiple times but it just isn't finding anything missing regarding usb controllers and I did the 3 available updates for the motherboard. They didn't seem related, but i tried just in case. No luck, besides of course the audio working.

At this point I'm really at a loss. I feel like throwing the computer out the window, except I can't even reach it to do that! lol

Any ideas? Thanks for spending the time, for anyone who read this.
I did also run belarc advisor. If it would help, ask & i'll post it, as long as that's ok on this board.

I just installed a new HD 6670 into my computer, but the computer won't use it. Instead, it's defaulting to the onboard graphics. When I turned the computer on for the first time with the new card, Windows detected the new device and installed drivers. I installed drivers off of the CD that came with it anyway. After restarting, I could no display from the new card. I switched the monitor input to the onboard and checked Device Manager and the only video adapter shown was the onboard graphics. I downloaded the latest drivers from AMD, installed, and restarted. Same thing. I restarted and went into the BIOS and set it to pull graphics from the PCI slot first. Still nothing. I unplugged the VGA from the onboard and restarted with nothing but an HDMI going from the card to the monitor and still no display. The BIOS version is up to date. I don't really understand why Windows would recognize a new device, but then not recognize it at the same time.

I know this question has been asked across different forums throughout the net. However, after I've almost tried everything now to solve this issue, I'm finally addressing the Lenovo community hoping to resolve this issue. Issue: Bose bluetooth headset QC35 gets successfully connected to my Lenovo T530 but doesn't show up as an audio device under Win10 Pro. In first stage, the connection seemed to be "fine" as the device name of the headset (configured through the Bose app) appeared under Win10 device manager. Already tried: 1. 3 different bluetooth USB dongles2. Inbuilt Broadcomm bluetooth device3. All imageanable settings within Windows4. Different driver sets5. Bose hotline (very unsatisfying support)6. Bose shop (as well very unsatisfying and useless answers)7. Windows support (very, very unsatisfying support)8. Completely deleting the headset from Windows (including driver)9. Resetting the headset Overall, the outcome is that I still can't use the QC35 as a bluetooth headset with my T530. Trying with different other notebooks and Apple devices worked fine. Looking forward to receiving your much appreciated thoughts and possible ideas on how to solve this problem.

i have installed the correct driver for this belkin bluetooth usb dongle model: F8T012XX1

but in device manager, it has the belkin device and microsoft bluetooth enumerator, which is great. but when u get further down the list. it has a tab named "other devices" and then a subtab with "bluetooth peripheral device" which has an exclemation mark on it.

i have searched for driver software using the update service but it cant find no update.

i have looked for the name of the manufacturer but found nothing.

i then disabled the unknown device, and sent a picture to my mobile phone. which confirmed that it was not the belkin bluetooth device. so i uninstalled the unknown device, restarted the computer. then when i logged in, it said that it had found a new device and wanted me to find the CD that came with it..

i would be greatful if any1 could help me on this..

thanks in advance

Hi, I've had a Lenovo G510  for about 18 mths. Not used wifi yet as I have a wired connection in my house. Decided to check out the wifi today but I can't find a way to turn it on and I can't find any wireless device listed in Device Manager. All I have under "Network adapters" - are: Qualcomm Atheros AR8172/8176/8178 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller Also no "Other Devices" or Unknown devices listed either. I've tried scanning for hardware changes but no luck. Why can't windows find the wireless card? It was advertised as coming with a built-in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi adapter. I'm on Windows 8.1. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Yoga 2 Pro, Win 8.1Blueooth device disappeared.Trying to repair the Intel Wireless driver. (bt247w81.exe) This is a two stage process.Stage one ends with "Completng the Intel bluetooth Driver SEtup Wiazard" with "Install Intel Bluetooth Driver now" checked.Click "Finish" Stage two Starts with "Welcome to the Intel PROSet/Wireless Tools Installation Wizard", proceeds to Repair and fails with: "Cannot write value C:\Program Files(x86)\Intel\Bluetooth\ to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\...\Paths. Verify that you have suffifcient access to thhat key..." error when attempting to write to registry. I believe this is because bt247w81.exe launches the Intel driver installer without admin privileges.I've tried launching bt247w81.exe with "Run as Administrator" and launching it from a cmd.exe which has been launched as Administrator. How am I supposed to install these drivers?

Recently I tried to pair a bluetooth mouse with my T450s and... failed. Perplexingly the bluetooth device doesn't appear in device manager at all.I've reinstalled the intel bluetooth and wifi drivers multiple times.I've checked all drivers and bios are upto date.I've gone into the bios and enabled/disabled bluetooth to try and 'kick' it into life, all made no difference.I've even replaced the wifi card with an AC-8265 and experimented with swapping the antenna. Even after all that (with the current state being the antenna's the right way around and bluetooth enabled):There is no bluetooth device in window device manager. There is no 'unknown' or other device in device manager. The windows BT troubleshooter says:  "device does not have bluetooth"I've even tried booting up an ubuntu live cd and that can't find any bluetooth either. What am I missing?  Is there some other switch that would disable bluetooth?

I had the same problem with a Dell Notebook and fortunately Dell had already posted Win10-compatible drivers.

I tried using bluetooth wireless headset for the first time. I could not find where to pair. No Bluetooth entry in the Action Center and could not find when scanned. When I checked Device Manager, here were no entries for bluetooth. I have used HP support Assistant and Windows Troubleshooter - neither found anything. THis PC was upgraded from Windows 8 to 10 when it came out. All updates are current, all drivers are current. I have tried all the posted solutions I could find. As an aside, I have a second HP Pavillion dv7with the same problem.
