Solved: NAV 2002 Live Update

Q: Solved: NAV 2002 Live Update

In the past week, I have tried to install an update for "Live Update" It keeps downloading BUT it fails to install (1831.9kb)
This is obviously a problem with the Norton update site.
Has anyone else had this problem over the last week?
Thanks Dave.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Using NAV 2002. Recently installed SP2. Current virus scan shows all OK.
All seemed fine post SP2 install, but now I notice the following:

When using Live Update the following components are (suddenly) missing: (1) Live Reg (2) Script Blocking and (3) Symantec common driver: Sym Event.

Is this normal? (I think not)

Fix?

With thanks.

Am running Win XP Pro along with Office XP SP2. Just went to the Office XP update site and installed the Excel and Word 2002 Update Oct.16 2002, and the Outlook 2002 Update Jan 22 2002.

Word and Excel still work fine, but Outlook will only start in safe mode, hanging at the splash screen if started normally. I tried the trick of renaming the *.dat files noted in some of the bulletin boards, but tis did not help.

I then un-installed Office XP and reinstalled it to SP2 level without the three patches noted above. Outlook still refuses to start normally.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that there is a "patch to patch the patch" for this problem, but can't seem to find the article again. Have also unsuccessfully searched the web and am now truly stuck!

Since Office seems to have reinstalled itself with all it's old defaults, I assume that the un-install programme does not remove registry entries? Any idea if there is a manual un-install instruction set anywhere - I can't find it at Microsoft.....!

I have Norton 2002 Anti Virus setup to update automatically AND I also have it set to update daily under "Scheduled Tasks"
I first believed that the Automatic update would "catch" all the updates. I am finding about onece every couple of weeks, that the update setup in scheduled tasks is picking up an update.
Is this normal? Shouldn't the auto udate (set as default) catch them ALL? Thanks. Dave.

I have an Access database that creates a report containing various fields from numerous tables. The document is created correctly, nicely formatted and containing all the fields requested. The problem is when Word opens up it doesn't have any menu items or toolbars, just the document itself. The user can still press the ctrl-P key combination to print the document out, but many users are novices with regard to MS Office in general and do not know of the various key combos. If anyone has encountered this problem before and knows what to do rectify the situation it would be greatly appreciated. Following is the code I use at the beginning and end of the print subroutine. I have asked numerous other programmers at my place of employment, but noone seems to know why this is happening (most of the other programmers ARE COBOL programmers though (lol)).

Dim appWord As Word.Application
Dim dlgSave As Dialog
Set appWord = CreateObject("Word.Application")
appWord.Documents.Add

' Quite a bit of code to format the document, add headers and
' database fields

Set dlgSave = appWord.Dialogs(wdDialogFileSaveAs)
dlgSave.Show
Set appWord = Nothing

A:Solved: Calling MSWord 2002 from MSAccess 2002

Why use Word at all why not stay in Access?
Have you selected Microsoft Office "References" in the VBA Project Tools References list?
My Access 2000Book suggests -
Dim appWord As Word.Application
Set appWord = getobject(, "WordApplication")
If appWord is Nothing Then
Set appWord = getobject(" ", "WordApplication")
With appWord
.Documents.Add
.Visible = True
End With
add the rest of your formatting etc.
Perhaps the .Visible = True is the bit thay makes it work?

I'm running the Live Driver portion of this update utility and I see two AMD drivers that it says aren't even installed. Can that be possible? Do I maybe not need them? How can I find out more about them and if I need to install them? Will it hurt to install them even if they're for something I don't use?

The drivers in question are:

AMD CPU Driver
AMD Away Driver

They both say No installation under current version, and list an available version.
I've already updated my Sound driver and a fourth item (NVIDIA nForce4 System Driver) says it is already current.

It could hurt to install a driver that's unusable. There are sometimes files in them that can be part of other drivers. If you uninstall an unusable driver, it might take other shared files with it, and tweak things. Don't know how many times I've formatted due to just that. LOL
As to the drivers themselves: By the looks of both your systems, they may not need the updating with those drivers. The AMD website might be of help there.

Can I uninstall the live update component of Norton 360 without uninstalling Norton itself? Also, will Norton be mad at me for turning off automatic updates? The reason I want to do this is because my Pentium 4 (3.0 GHz, HT) cant handle live update without lagging other things down.

No Norton would not get mad at you for turning off the auto updates but just make sure that you update is manually pretty frequently.

I have Live Mail up and running, and have imported my contacts from Outlook 2002 by exporting and importing as a CSV file.

As Live Mail only wants to import messages from Outlook Express 6, windows Mail or Live Mail (and doesn't seem to want to look at CSV or other data files), any thoughts on getting my messages, calendar etc. from Outlook 2002?

Have Outlook 2002 installed on the Windows 7 PC.

Thanks

A:Import Outlook 2002 data into Live Mail

Hi,

Welcome to Seven Forum
The calendar is a different story, since Outlook can't export to a .ics file
that Windows Calendar uses.

What I tried... and it seemed to work...

In Outlook (I have version 2003), export to a CSV file.

Went to my calendar on Gmail.com
import the CSV file to Google calendar
export to .ics file (had to use help for these two steps, as it's not
straightforward)

Windows Calendar:
import the .ics file

Hopes that helps

I downloaded the MSI LiveUpdate 5 from the MSI website and ran it. It downloaded and installed all the drivers available. After it ran the program to flash the BIOS, it completed successfully and then windows rebooted. After start up, it was loading windows 8, then instead of going to the login screen I got the blue screen of death and the PC rebooted. The BSOD flashed on the screen so briefly that I couldn't read the error code. I have unplugged the CMOS battery to reset those settings, but I still can't get into windows.
I am running Ubuntu 12.10 on a separate internal 80GB HDD, and I can see my windows HDD still with all my data.

My motherboard is the MSI Z77A-G43. Please help if you can.

Thanks

For any extra info, please just ask.

A:Solved: Blue Screen after MSI Live Update 5

Try booting into Safe Mode (I assume Win8 still has that function). If you can get into Safe Mode, then it's simply a corrupt driver or software issue. You could uninstall the MSI software.

However, when I went to "System Image" which was created before the problem occured this fixed the problem. The message here is don't forget to create a "system image" every once in a while. It may just save you the problem of re-formatting your hard drive.

Hello Everyone,

OK, I am working on my uncle's PC. His Update subscription for Norton AV 2003 ran out and he ordered 2006 and dnloaded from website. He did not realize it would not work with his OS (Win ME).

He had already tried to install it and it wouldn't work when he called me, however the damage was already done. We got Symantec to refund him and he purchased another year of subscription service for 2003.

The problem now is Live update errors out with " Error LU1875: Live Update encountered an error during second Hello" (Something like that the LU1875 is correct I cant remember the exact wording of the rest). Then Live update shuts down. There is nothing about this error in Symantecs Knowledge Base and he doesn't have the 2003 CD to do an Unintstall/Re-install (Norton was installed on his PC when he bought it from a local shop, they are no longer in business, and he has just updated his subscription service since then). I tried dnloading and reinstalling Live Update from the website but still receive the same error. I got the definitions to update by dnloading the definitions file and installing using that file. He can continue to do this for the rest of his subscription but would prefer to get Live Update working properly.

Does anyone know what that error code means? Or if I can fix these problems without having the CD?

Thanks in advance.

Tony

( although I wouldnt ) I also like the way they want to charge you $35.00 dollars to support their product... I will never again buy or recommend them for anything except using their software disks for coasters

It's been such a long spell since I've messed, if ever actually, with Win XP 2002, I'm wondering about this update process. I've gotten my 6 programs that I always carry, the essentials....PowerIso, Utorrent, Firefox, CCleaner, AVG, and WinZip. I installed these as I was going and getting everything situated with the newly re-installed XP OS. So, I tethered to update automatically and to get AVG registered and all that jazz. Well given that computer properties does say it's a 2002 version I wasn't surprised to see the 93 auto updates and installs or the hour or maybe two it took to get em in, reboot, et cetera. But upon restarting the pc was 95% slower than before the upgrades.....so I open CCleaner, do that process, nada, check the uninstall options as I also had a Vista Ultimate image in case I wanted to switch, and I find out that every one of the 93 updates or installs.....it did and said both, first updated then installed, but they are all on my list. Is this necessary? I would think that's what the entire SP1 2 3 deal is about, not having to have 500 updates on your pc. Either way, I tried to skip ahead because even after all of the installs, I was still showing a 2002 version, so I went to Microsoft and went from SP2 to the newest SP3 available, to no avail. It downloaded fine, rebooted....normal everything, but my system still says 02 and I'm still loaded down with security updates and windows updates....anything between there and here I think? Solutions? Am I stuck? ... Read more

A:Word 2002 update ?

To install the latest Word security updates, it seems that yes, you need to have the Office service pack installed (someone jump in and correct me if I'm wrong).

However:
Microsoft Service Packs are cumulative so there's no need to install earlier releases of a service pack if you haven't already done so. Click to expand...

In other words, you'd only need to install SP-2, not SP-1.

I'm trying to update Quicken 2002 Deluxe (R1) to R2 but keep getting the "patching engine error" error. I've done everything it says on the Quicken tech support site but still can't update. Has anyone else had this problem (and did it get resolved)?

Hi,

My live update for SystemWorks expired a month or so ago, So my Norton AV isnt getting updated.

1. Is there a way to manually update SystemWorks?
2. If there is, how can I make sure it gets fully updated. Meaning will I have to do multiple downloads?

I understand I can pay to get the live updates again, But I am stalling on that because I plan to reformat when XP SP2 comes out, and buy the newer version of SystemWorks.

TY

Has your subscription to Norton Antivirus run out as well? If not, how much longer do you have on it?

Hiya

When you install this update, you are enabling Microsoft Word 2002 to connect to translation services provided by Bowne Global Solutions. Translation can be performed between English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. These services use computers to translate your document automatically. You can often use these translations to quickly determine the main ideas in a document.
For important or sensitive documents, a professional translator can give you the most reliable results, since computer translation may not preserve the text's full meaning, detail, or tone. Professional translation is offered via a link on the page that displays machine translation results.

Note These translation services work with Word 2002 installations only.
