I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I have had my Lenovo Ideapad 100s-14IBR for just over a year now. I had a few issues during this time such as the screen goes black and a battery issue. I sent the laptop back for repairs which were done. A problem though was they sent it back now and wifi was not working. Once in a while, it would let me connect to a connection but it the signal would be one bar or it won't connect. Usually, it says no available connections (wifi symbol dark grey with red cross). This has been like this nearly for 5 months and I've had enough. I've tried updating drivers etc but nothing works. I troubleshoot problems and it says "problem with wireless adapter or access point." This laptop is on windows 10. Please Help!

Hi All, First off thank you for this community it's been incredibly helpful. I think I may have bricked my 100s-14IBR and need some advice. I received this laptop secondhand from a family member and being computer savvy (or at least so I thought) I wanted to make it my own and install Windows 7 Pro on it. So let's get started. Bios SettingsSecure Boot: DisabledBoot Priority: Legacy SupportBoot Priority: Legacy FirstUSB Boot:Enabled - Booting from USB with Windows 7 iso created using Rufus - "MBR partition for scheme UEFI"- File system was FAT32 So I am able to boot from USB, load DISKPART via W7 cmd prompt, clean the HDD, convert to MBR from GPT, wipe all partitions clean, format them into one partition (instead of the original four), and install Windows 7 (although painstaking slow). Immediately upon first boot I get BSOD and following that I begin bootlooping in to the Windows Advanced Options menu giving me the option to boot into Safe Mode, Last Known Good Configuration, etc. Safe Mode Fails, Start Windows Normally Fails, and Last Known Good Configuration takes me back to the BSOD. So, I threw up my hands and decided to re-install Windows 10. However, now the system doesn't act like it wants to boot to Windows 10 from USB stick. I simply keep geeting a boot loop into Windows Advanced Options Menu. Have I bricked my device? I can still enter the BIOS and the Boot Menu via the Novo button. However, n... Read more

First off, I'm going to say this laptop was a Christmas gift from a friend. I do not have ANY computers in this house aside from this one. I use this laptop for blogging and listening to music as well as job hunting, however, it will not register the keyboard or touchpad at all. I called Customer Support and the best answer they could give me was to bring it back to the store I got it from--this was an incompetent answer to the problem. I have tried touching and holding the power button for 15 seconds and when it restarts, the problem is not fixed. None of the keys are working. Period. I have a mouse for a gaming computer, however, I do not have a keyboard to plug in to use. If I could get a response to this, that would be GREAT!!! I cannot log in or do anything with my lap top right now and am currently stuck doing things from my cell phone.

I am trying to do a recovery for my 100S but at about 45% it says error and stops. Now the computer doesn't load windows and I'm stuck on the Lenovo screen. I thought I had a solution when I saw Lenovo had a Lenovo Recovery Digital Download Service (RDDS). Basically this allows me to create a USB drive that has the recovery on it. I tried it but at 10% it says error and then stops. Now the computer just keeps going into the boot menu and anything I select nothing happens. Right now my IdeaPad is a paperweight. I can't even get back into the recovery menu. Every time I startup it goes into the boot menu. Any help would be appreciated.

A:100S-14iBR mouse not working

Hi Kyle,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Go to the window search in the task bar and typed in "computer management? and open the computer management desktop app. Under device manager selected mice and other pointing devices and then elan input device. In the elan properties window that opened I selected uninstall to uninstall the driver and in the next box that opened warning that the driver was about to be uninstalled. I checked the delete driver and then OK. Then restarted windows. In the process of restarting windows detected the elan touchpad as a new device and installed the driver in time for the login screen.

Here is the link to download the Lenovo Windows 10 driver for the touchpad from our support site. -> TouchPad Driver Windows 10

Hope this helps. Let me know your findings.

Hi, I recently upgraded the Storage with a WD green 120 GB M.2 SSD. Post upgradation, i installed Windows 7 into the new Drive. After dealing with several error messages and trying all workarounds the system was able to boot and became a working machine again.  I accidentally formatted the eMMC i.e. previously my C: drive and faced a lot of difficulty in making it work. However happy that finally the system is back to its normal working condition. The only problem i am facing now is, i am not able to see the 32GB eMMC card in Disk Management or in MY Computer. Though the same is visible in Advanced Troubleshooting during pre-boot (Repair your system Option) . Though the volume is visible and is empty there, its not visible inside windows explorer after windows starts. Though it doesnt affect the system's performance now, i would like to use the 32GB memory. I tried looking for the driver but not didnt find any. I am currently using Win 7 Enterprise. My next attempt would be to upgrade to Windows 10 and see if that resolves the issue.  Please Help !

I have this problem with an ideapad that was handed down to me for repair. The touchpad doesn't work. It came with Win 10 preinstalled, and also the ELAN driver. When I try to use the touchpad, it does nothing. The clic button works, so if I disable the touchpad with the Fn key, it disables it (that way I know it's not disabled when I try to use it). Using a USB mouse works just fine. I did everything I found in the forum: reinstalling windows, the drivers, using older drivers, updating the OS, changing sensibility options and so on, but nothing seems to work.I'm pretty desperate, since the phone assistance didn't solve my problem either. So, help me guys, please?

I can enable touchpad with shortcut on F6 key, but after few seconds of not using the touchpad, it disables by itself. I also noticed that I can enable touchpad by clicking the physical left or right click below it, but not by tapping the touchpad. Also, I think it has something to do with Power Management, but when I go to Manage->Device Manager->Mice and pointing devices->HID-compliant mouse and go to Properties, I don't have the Power Management tab there. Drivers are up to date, and there are no mouse drivers on Lenovo support page. I ran out off ideas, any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi.
I bought an Ideapad 100S-14IBR in september 2016 and its battery has been greatly reduced since last year. I could stay unplugged at least 5 hours with internet switched on or 8 hours with everything switched off and low luminosity. Now I struggle to get more than 3 hours with everything off. I tried recalibrating the battery, hasn't proved useful.

I haven't abused the battery, I use my computer on average less than once a day, I don't leave it plugged. On my battery report I have 22 000 mWh out of 33 000 mWH design capacity. This is really annoying since I need to bring this computer to study at school but it can barely made it. Does anyone have an explanation ? Otherwise I would like to know if the warranty (which is still active) covers a battery replacement ?

Thanks

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

The reason the memory slots are not mentioned in the manual is because there are no memory slots available.  The Ideapad 100s product line comes with the memory soldered directly to the motherboard so it is not socketed and can not be upgraded.  Sorry!

Hi everybody. I recently bought the Ideapad 100S 14IBR at a local store the on September, 19th 2016. It is a nice notebook but I just discovered something pretty unpleasing.  With Windows 10 installed, I could do 8 hours of word processing with close to full battery which is pretty neat. After installing Linux, to my surprise since this OS has bad reputation about battery life, I still could get around  8 hours of word processing just like Windows. Very nice for college usage. However, Linux Mint gives access to more in-depth informations about battery life, that I can't seem to get on Windows. ? As you can see, my brand new battery can store up to 4350 mAh full charge according to its desing but I can only store 3721 mAh at full charge, which is an indication of wear. This discrepancy seems pretty large since I just recently bought it (see 20 charge cycles in 21 days of usage) but the battery is already at only 85% of its life expecatncy, which seems to be a lot of wear for such a small period. I know that these tools aren't the most accurate but the "charge_full" rate has been going down pretty reasonnably (normal wearing) since I have been monitoring this data so the measures seem to be pretty legit and not complete fantasy. It really surprises me since I've been using my laptop very reasonably, making sure it didn't heat and keeping the battery life between 20 and 90 % in order to avoid... A:Brand New Ideapad 100s 14IBR battery not charging

Well, The battery most likely is Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) and either have been a production defect; or have not been properly charged at the factory; or have been drained completely, been sitting for a long time, then as a result have suffered damages to the chemical bits inside. You may have to return only the battery to the store (If accessible to remove form outside/If not internal) , unless they tell you to bring something else in addition. Sincerely Cklone.

hi, I just bought a new ideapad 100s-14ibr 5 days ago [4-24-2017], I noticed seomthing about the battery life that gave me a hunch: Usually when unboxing a new laptop smartphone, etc., it comes with 40-70% of charge from the factory as industry practice. My laptop had 0% charge and could not power on until after 35 minutes of charging.(lithium-ion batteries only lose only about 1-2% of charge per month in storage. Usually a lituim-ion battery that loses its charge (or doesnt hold its charge) is defective.) My laptop only holds a charge for 5 hours on 75% brightness. Im concerned as most review sites, testers and many credible sources indicate that this laptop has a 7+ battery life and some have even got uo tp 9 hours of battery time. Please let me know if this is normal, if this battery life of 7+ hours is reached only on lowest brightness, etc. Because one tester indicated they reached 7 hours of battery on highest brightness and another had the same time with 70% brightness looping a video. any help/feedback is very helpful as quickly as possible. I have a small window to return laptop for an excange. i dont want a refund as this machine exceeded my expectations in performance and other areas. But I need a laptop that give me a ChromeBook battery life of 7-8+ hours but the flexability of having Windows 10.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having with the lid bezel.  From the picture I would suspect that either the bezel was slightly mis-aligned during assembly and popped loose in that area or the video cable wasn't seated properly in its wiring channel.  That when opened, tension on the video cable pulled on the screen bezel.  Either case it is a fairly simple and quick repair and should be covered by warranty on a day old machine.

Hello,

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 100S. My keyboard recently stopped working and when I went into device manager my folder, along with the drivers, for my keyboard was gone. I did a search for changes to hardware, restarted my computer, downloaded the keyboard driver for Lenovo and none of this worked. I've now done a full factory reset of my computer yet the keyboard folder is still gone and I cannot find a way to get it back or to get my computer to recognize any keyboard drivers.

Any assistance is very appreciated.
Thank you!

A:Lenovo IdeaPad 100S: Keyboard folder gone in Device manager

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.  Since Windows will not detect the installed keyboard it is quite possible the internal keyboard has failed or the keyboard cable has become disconnected inside and needs to be reseated.  To rule out a hardware conflict, try a static discharge to see if that resolves the problem first.

To do a static discharge, try this.....
1. Shut down Windows and unplug the charger / adapter. 2. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. 3. Plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.

If the discharge didn't work, here is the U.S. most Best Buy stores are also Lenovo Authorized Service Centers.  I would suggest bringing in your laptop to them for further inspection, especially if your warranty is still active.
