I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi there,

I'm having dell inspiron 3521 laptop. My battery is 4 cell (40WAh) and recently it was permanently failed. So, i decided to replace it with new one. The question is if i replace my 4 cell battery with 6 cell battery, will it leads to any problems? Can some one please help me to resolve this.
Thanks in advance.

A:What will happen when i replace my dell 40WAh battery with 60WAh battery for Inspiron 3521?

As long as the battery is otherwise compatible -- and you realize it will increase the weight AND the size of the notebook (while the 4-cell likely fits entirely inside the system, the 6-cell will protrude from the back of the system), you will be fine.  There's also a big reason (safety among them) why OEM batteries cost more than third-party knockoff units, if that's a consideration.

Hello, first all the facts: Model: Pavilion TS 11Year bought: 2013product Number: E2V68EA#ABDBattery test result: primary battery failed - replace (42)Error code: 0GF2MR - 6MW8H9 - XD7WXF - C0A503 The problem: I have noticed the very first time the battery did not fully charge up to 100% app. 1 1/2 years ago. Then it always stayed at about 75%. I made several battery tests, yet everything seemed to be fine. Two days ago, I noticed the battery was down to 7% - not charging even though it should be. I run some battery tests again and the error stated above suddenly came up. The HP battery test via the support center sated everything was okay, yet as I googled the primary battery failed message, I kind of got alarmed.  There is no warranty left and the touchscreen had to be disabled a couple of months ago, because it was not working properly as well. I hope for advises - does it actually make sense to try to repair it? Can this problem be repaired - as far as I understand, the primary battery means changing the removable battery won't help at all? Best wishes,Kristina

My W540 is asking me to consider replacing the battery. The original battery is a 57++, 9 cells, 11.1V, 8.96Ah 100Wh, Li-ion00 battery. Searched on ebay, cannot find an exactly the same one.  The closest match one is this:  Some 9 cells 57++ is 10.8V, 9.21Ah and Li-ion 20  ----- does this one is better than mine original because of its lower V?----- do you have a reliable seller from ebay or amazon to recommend ? From the Battery Maintenance window I found there is a Battery Health Mode feature somewhere. A:Can i replace a 4cell battery with 6 cell battery?

It looks like it is possible - however, realize that the 6-cell battery is larger than the 4-cell and will not fit entirely inside the system  -it will extend beyond the rear of the system (along with adding weight, of course).

A:Battery Replacement Toshiba OEM or Battery-Biz

Could you provide links?
I think with batteries the big thing is Watt/Hours. (Don't quote me on that tho)
You might be better off using the same battery as the one you had before, simply for the sake of reliability.
It also will depend on what you use this laptop for.

After my friend's laptop wouldn't run on battery power OR charge the battery I tried many "fixes."
Shockingly none worked that I found.
Only one thing worked for me to my surprise.
A last ditch effort was to open up the laptop (sony pcg-81114L) and disconnect the cmos battery for a few minutes to reset the CMOS.
To my surprise, when powered on, the battery instantly showed it was charging AND when removing the power plug the battery POWERS the laptop now! (and I'd thought I was wasting my time.)
Worked with an off brand battery also.
Many times this has saved many computers that have odd "unsolvable" things wrong with them.
Surely someone else has done this also but I haven't seen it posted anywhere to my knowledge.
Thank GOD for bringing the idea to remembrance!

Hey, I really need help. I'm having problems with my laptop. It's a dell inspiron 7559 and was bought around January. Recently I have seen that the battery has no longer been as hot as it used to be when I first started using it. Along with the sleeve on the tip of the screen power adapter (below the part where the adapter lights up) has started to come off, exposing the wires. The battery has continually dropped down its percentage rate ever since I bought it, and it won't go back up. It is currently at 0% battery life and it says when you highlight over the battery icon ( plugged in, not charging). It also happens to show the BIO setup when I start the computer and shows that the batteries wattage and type cannot be determined. In the BIOS setup, the ac adapter type is unknown. The battery has not been through any harsh conditions along with the laptop. I have tried removing the battery, starting up the computer with the ac adapter (which is 130 watts), then adding the battery back, and ac adapter, then turning it on, but it had no effects. If I remove my ac adapter while my computer is on ,it instantly turns off. If someone can support me with this issue, it would be gladly appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds likely the charge circuit on the mainboard is damaged.  Contact Dell to have the mainboard replaced under warranty.

Hello everyone! Not sure if this is an issue but it's surely annoying to know, that battery N1 drains at 5% and the other stays at 100%. Is it possible for a mixed discharge between both batteries ?After all the LIFE of the first battery (while using battery only power) is shortened a lot! Is there any option in LENOVO VANTIGE that I am no aware of ?I looked everywhere and i can't find anything.. Bios latest update 1.30 Thank you very much!

A:T470s BATTERY 1 drains to 5%, BATTERY 2 stays at 100% (BATTERY PRIORITY)

Sorry  but see below post.  Basically you cant set discharge order.  The laptop checks battery wear and bases discharge order on that.  Many people including myself have asked for a BIOS switch or at least an option on discharge order but nothing has happened so far and I dont think its going to happen either.  I do not speak for Lenovo..

Hi guys. I have a T470 and after the latest Windows update I encountered a battery naming issue. Before the update batteries had proper order and were named accordingly: battery 1, battery 2, no surprises here. But after the update I noticed the order has changed to battery 0, battery 1 (attached pic below) Yeah yeah, I understand arrays start at zero but what is that? I was just wondering is it just me or you guys have the same situation going on with your batteries? Is there a way to change the order back to "normal"? .

Hello. I've been trying to repair my mother's PC. She has a 2011 HP Pavillion g6 series PC. For over a month, every time she starts/restarts the computer, it is telling her she has Windows Updates to install and the PC needs to be restarted. Once in a while even when the laptop is closed, you hear the startup jingle on its own, which means, I assume, the PC restarted on its own I've been doing driver updates in addition to this, and it turns out on the HP website there was a problem with cords that have a label LS15. Surely enough, the cord for this laptop had that label, so I got a free replacement Upon doing other checks including a battery check, it turns out this battery is very poor (I was able to tell that when I unplugged it at 100%, went to 66% in about 5 minutes, restarted the PC once, restarted it AGain, and then it died) Anyway, I just went to HP's page and I cannot find any battery replacement for this model PC. I was however able to find it on another web page - http://www.laptopbatteryhq.com/hp-pavilion-g6-1a50us-laptop-battery.html?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=... Even if I replace the battery, I don't think that will solve the issue with Windows UPdates re-appearing What are all of your suggestions? Buy a new laptop (can' really afford that though at this time). Replace the battery? And any idea on how to fix this Microsoft problem? THank you all

A:New battery or replace laptop?

If she ever runs the laptop on battery alone by all means replace it. On the other hand if she always keeps the laptop plugged in there is really no need to replace it. You can even run a laptop with battery completely removed-though this can be a problem in the event the laptop is accidentally removed from power. Even a weak battery can give enough time to reinsert the power cord. As for the Windows Update issue, I have seen several posts recently about Windows 7 update problems and some express the opinion that it has happened since the free update to Windows 10 expired and may be part of the push to get everyone to move to 10.You might try the Windows Update troubleshooter at Microsoft to see if it offers any help.https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058

Have a Dell E1505 thats about 3 or 4 years old and the battery hasn't held a charge right in a long time, ...as expected.

What I see on-line are so many offers with prices varying from $79.00 for a 7800 mAh 87wHr @ Laptop battery depot to what Dell has 9-cell 85wHr for $155.99.

So the real problem is where is the best honorable place to buy a bat. at a reasonable price. The Dell cost is NO Option, ...way too much, but I'm leery of getting what is a slightly better/longer lasting (according to their specs) that is 75 dollars cheaper. Cheaper b/c laptop manufactures mark their batteries up so much, or are they crap???

Can those who have replaced there battery post with there place of purchase, was it reasonably priced, and is it just as good if not better than laptop factory stamped batteries?

I just have no idea where to buy or who to trust.

Hi, I know this might not be the correct forum for this problem, but I couldn't find answers anywhere else.

My situation is, I have an Acer Aspire 3050. Everything works perfectly normal, except the charger charging the battery. I am willing to replace the battery/charger, but I am unsure which one is causing the problem.

- The laptop charges (about 1 hour for 1%), up to about 3% when it stops charging.
- When I plug the adaptor into the laptop, sometimes it may not charge. I have to play about the way it is plugged in, and if I slightly touch it it will stop charging.
- The adaptor has a minor loose wire.

I have no idea if my battery has ran out of cycles, but I know the laptop has been plugged in non-stop for about a week (I am sure this causes the problem). But then again, it might be the loose wire on the charger.

Can anyone help with this? Thanks!

A:Do I need to replace the battery or charger?

I'll have a go at answering the question, first, with some questions.
Are there no indicator lights anywhere, on the ac adapter or lead?
How far do you live from a computer outlet? If near take your comp, lead, ac adapter, & get them checked out.
I guess leaving it on for a week, it might have been more economical to take to a shop?
Do you know a good electrician, who can test the charger see if current flows? Have you contacted Asus?

Since around 3 days ago, I started having problems with the date and time on my computer. Yesterday when I started up my computer, it gave me a 'CMOS Checksum error - defaults loaded' screen and I had to press F1 to start up my computer. When the computer did boot, my date and time had been reset back to Midnight 1st January 2007. Turning on my computer today, I got the exact same error message and my date/time resetting.
I can only assume the CMOS battery is either dead or dying.

I've watched some videos on YouTube and replacing it seems simple enough, but I'm a bit worried about damaging my motherboard. I'm still an amateur with computers and I've never done any physical work to one before. I've heard quite that static electricity can fry circuits in your motherboard and this had got me worried, lol. What would be the safest way of removing the CMOS battery without damaging anything?

I'm running a Windows Vista Desktop by the way.

Also, a bit off-topic, but will the computer just start as normal after replacing the battery and/or will I lose any kind of data?

A:What is the safest way to replace a CMOS battery?

Replace it as you would replace a normal AA battery. The computer will start just fine after replacing it.

Be careful about that.

I have a notebook Satellite M70-122 and it seams there is a problem with the RTC (BIOS) battery as it looses all settings. I took it to the service department here in Thessaloniki Greece and they told me the battery is glued to the main board and I should buy a new notebook instead.

Does any one has any idea on how to change the RTC (BIOS) battery?

A:HowTo replace RTC battery for Satellite M70-122?

In many cases (also for Sat M70 ) the RTC battery is soldered on the motherboard. In such case it cannot be replaced

The RTC battery provides power to keep the current date, time and other setup information in memory while the computer is turned off. The RTC battery is charged by the adaptor or main battery, while the computer is powered on.
So theoretically if the RTC battery is empty, you could charge it again by connecting AC adaptor and running the notebook for about 24 hours.

Hey, running Win7 here (obviously ;) ) and it's on a laptop that's probably about 5-6 months old. The other day I began noticing my battery is only lasting 10-20 musics unplugged, fully charged!! Then yesterday came and my battery symbol changed into a more disturbing one... and it revealed an error saying that I should consider replacing my battery. I did some research, and I am told it may be a driver issue... But I don't know how to fix any of this!Help greatly appreciated (ps heres my power supply logs)Power Efficiency Diagnostics Report
