I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello...

I have a file in my temporary internet files folder that has an 'expires' date of none. You know, up at the top of the explorer page.. FILE INTERNET ADDRESS TYPE SIZE EXPIRES. It is a URL **http://www.ulead.com/Templates/external.css** and does not seem to cause any issue, but nonetheless, I find it iritating.

Anyone of you super techs know how to delete this?

Thanks...

I'm running Win98 with IE 6. For the past week or so, when I log on to emusic.com the next page (after the login page) shows nothing but code. I cut and pasted it and sent it to their help person, and she said it looked like it's posting my cookie information to the page. She gave me a few things to try, such as, deleting my cookies, checking my security settings, etc. I tried everything she suggested, but it didn't fix the problem. The only change I've made that I can think might have started this was downloading the latest security patches from Microsoft's Windows Update page.

Here's part of what appears on the page:

I live in the United Kingdon and use dates in the short date format dd/mm/yyyy. I have an application that works perfectly with Windows XP and Windows Vista when you change the date format on a machine in the "Regional and Language Options" of the "Control Panel" the dates display properly in the application. The application was developed with Delphi 2009, I believe, in case this makes any difference. When run under Windows 7 all the date fields show up in US format (mm/dd/yyyy) even though all the regional settings, etc. have been set correctly on the machine. Furthermore, running the application in either the Windows XP or Windows Vista emulations does not cure the problem. Is there a known issue about this in Windows 7 or/and does anyone have any ideas?Thank you

Hi,

Thank you for your update.

Considering the issue is related to application developing, it is still recommended that you contact Delphi support or our MSDN forum for further investigation. This should be more efficient.

I determined the issue is caused by a cookie the website drops into IE Temporary Folder.

I searched the Internet and found the following batch file that will delete all cookies....

Greetings, and thanks in advance for your help..

Awhile back I formatted my Windows 10 PCs to show ddd dd-mmm-yyyy on my taskbar clock. This worked happily on my desktop and laptop for months, maybe even a year +

Now (probably starting in the past couple days, if not today), on one of those two PC's, this format will no longer display. It is Okay on the other PC.
What has changed that the taskbar clock space used to expand to fit the "short date" format, but now it will no longer expand - and instead just refuses to display the date at all. (NOTE: I've verified the issue by testing shorter formats -- short formats, like "ddd" show up correctly. Only if you request a longer format will the date not display - evidently because it is too long for the clock area. )

Additional Notes that may help:

* "Working" pc is running build 10586 PC with too small a clock space that won't expand -- Build 14393

*Other differences: Notification/Action center Icon is left of clock on the working PC - Right of clock on the non-working
Right- Clicking on task bar gives "properties" option on working PC -- But "Settings" option on the non-working

( I don't want to prejudice responses - but clearly the implication to me is that some recent OS update is most likely the culprit.)

Thank You

Hi! Does anyone know what is the format of the date in the field "(battery) Manufacture Date" informed by Lenovo Vantage (Hardware Configuration > Energy)? It seems not to follow Windows setting. In my case, it is set to Brazilian Portuguese DD/MM/YYYY, but there is not a leading "0" in the returned value (see attached image). Does it really disregard the Windows setting and presents it in a fixed format (maybe American English)? When was my battery manufactured (Oct. 07 or July 10)?Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

I'm new to Windows 7 (Home Premium 32-bit) and I just can't figure out what's going on here! Basically I want my short date format to be dd/mm/yyyy (UK format) e.g. 05/11/2010, but when I key a date into Excel 2002 it is appearing as 05 11 2010. In Control
Panel I have the short date format set to ddd dd/MM/yyyy and the example is shown as Fri 05/11/2010, but in Excel all the date formats are shown with space separators, e.g. 14 03 2001! I don't think it's an Excel problem though as in Windows Task Scheduler
the dates are shown with spaces there e.g. '19:25 on Mon 01 11 2010'. The date by the clock though is shown correctly with slash separators!

I know in Windows XP you can select the date separator from a drop-down list, but this option seems to be absent in Windows 7. Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International in the registry, sDate was set to a space, but changing that to a slash (and rebooting)
didn't fix the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas please what's wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks
Steven

A:Date format using space as date separator rather than forward slash!

Hi Steven,

Thanks for the post!

When you set the Short date to ddd dd/MM/yyyy, the date by the clock is shown with slash, however, the date in Task Scheduler doesn’t show the slash. This behavior
is by design. When you double click the time and the trigger tab (for example) in task scheduler, the details are shown with slash.

When you change the Short date to dd/MM/yy, the date in the Task Scheduler and the clock become the same.

For the Excel date problems, I recommend you ask this question in

Yes, quite easily
This is in W8.1, but I am certain that it is the same in all other systems

Then select additional settings & select the date tab
in the short date box add dddd, to the start of the line & press apply, OK & exit out and when you next open explorer , you will have the entire date shown in all its glory

Hi.
Can anyone tell me the right format for a Proxy Exception to cover a domain with subdomains? There are several examples covering the use of wildcards -
like this MS article:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd361953.aspx
The "Enter a wildcard at the beginning of an Internet address..." example does not cover the useage of subdomains :-(
a.b.c.microsoft.com

Do I use\ set the proxy exception to "*.*.*.microsoft.com" or is "*.microsoft.com" enough to cover all the a.b.c subdomains?

/Tord Bergset

A:Internet Explorer Proxy Exception - Syntax format for covering subdomains?

Hi,
As the document states,  using a wildcard at the beginning of an Internet address, IP address, or domain name to bypass servers
with a common ending. For example, use "*.example.com" to bypass any entries ending in ".example.com" (such as "some.example.com" and "www.example.com").

So I think *.microsoft.com is enough to cover all the subdomains.

Or just use Firefox or even test that out with what your doing. Make sure you got the latest Ccleaner. You may also want to try instead of Ccleaner is Fcleaner.

I live in the UK and want to use the day-month-year format in displaying the date.

In Control Panel, Region and Language, Additional Settings, I've changed my Location and Keyboard, and set my date format to 'd.MMM.yy' (short) and 'dd MMMM yyyy' (long). In the W7 betas, this gave me a day-month-year format in all programs.

In the RC, I get the format I want in the notification area, Windows Explorer and Directory Opus, but my other shareware programs (e.g. Macro Express and Clipmate) display American date format in their listings. I installed them in Compatibility Mode.*

Does anyone know a fix for this? - in the registry, maybe?

Just to clarify, does this mean the date within these programs appears in the American format, or (say) in the Programs and Features 'Installed On' column?

If it's the former, I think the only way to make the changes is in the options for those shareware programs, rather than in Win 7.

I am running WinXP-pro. When I print checks using Quicken 99 - the date always shows up in this format: "1/1/2006." (It never used to act that way when I was running the program on Win95). I don't see the "1/1/2006" in my long-date or short-date format in the control panel. And I don't see any formatting options for the date in the Quicken 99 program. Has anyone had this problem? thanks, thsh6

Did you check Regional & Language Options in control panel? Beside your language (for instance English (United States) click on the Customize button, click on the last tab - Date - to change your date format.

Hi All
Is there any way to give access to end users only to change Date format(from dd/mm/yyy to mm/dd/yyyy and vice versa). I don't want them to change the date just the date format.

Hi

I have a list of dates in Excel in US date format and I can't seem to get them to switch into UK date. I've tried the classic re-formatting and putting the data into notepad etc. Sure its pretty easy.

Any ideas?
Thanks
