Lunch doesn't have a time zone. Neither have I.

Q: Lunch doesn't have a time zone. Neither have I.

Is there any way to get the Windows 8 and Hotmail calendars to keep appointments and not shift them around when my computer changes its time zone?

I always eat lunch at 1 PM, it doesn't change when I fly to Ireland from Germany.
And when I make an appointment with someone in Israel at 6 PM in a week's time, I really do not want to calculate what the difference is to my current time zone so as to avoid having dinner at 4 PM or 8 PM depending on wether I was east or west of Jerusalem at the time of making the appointment.
Basically I want the calendar to work like a paper calendar. If I tell that I will do X at time Y, I want X to remain set for Y, not Y+Z with Z being the difference in hours between the two time zones, the one I will be in and the one I am in when making the appointment.
What should I do?

Preferred Solution: Lunch doesn't have a time zone. Neither have I.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi there
I tend to use a phone for appointments - but I think on a computer there is some software (paid) to do this
Godot & Co

I haven't tried this so I don't know if it's any good - the phone though does it all automatically.

Installed Win 8 Pro with 'keep Win 7 settings' option, then noticed that it displayed GMT rather than UTC+10 for Canberra, Australia. Checked and updated 'Date and Time' to (UTC+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, made sure Location was 'Australia' and Language 'English (Australia)' and still the system time is 4am when it should be 4pm.

Any helpful ideas?

Hello Tandlj, and welcome to Eight Forums.

It sounds like you may just need to go back to your "Date and Time Settings" and change the AM to PM part like below.

So basically I tried this with many games. For example when I ran Gmod and when the game moves me to the text menu the computer restarts. I did look into it online and there is something wrong with my charger. I bought a charger which is not Dell Brand( My Computers Brand) and I guess it doesn't supply the power it needs. However, when I am playing the game without the charger plugged in it works fine.

I would like to know if there is anyway to change some settings so I can fool my computer, so I can play the games with my charger on.

I don't want to buy a new charger because I might get a new computer this Christmas.

A:Computer restarting every time I lunch a game.

Try changing your power settings to save more energy while playing a game. Your laptop is probably overheating while the charger is plugged in because it freely uses more power. Make sure the fan vent is clear of dust.

If that doesn't help, the other likely problem is that your charger might not be a sufficient wattage. Newer games require chargers that are above 100w. If your charger is <100w, this could be the problem.

Hello. Here is my issue short and sweet.

When I use ANY of the web based emails (Yahoo, Gmail, Comcast) on computer A, all of my emails are stamped an hour earlier than real time. By real time, I mean the clock on the computer AND the analog tick-tock clock on my kitchen wall. Both display the correct time accurately.

When I use ANY of the web based emails (Yahoo, Gmail, Comcast) on computer B (or C or D), all of my emails are stamped with real/correct time that matches my kitchen and computer. These computers ALSO reflect correct time.

With either computer, any file created or saved has a date and time stamp that is correct and reflects real time. Whether saved with a web app, a windows app or a cmd line app.

On all computers my time zone is set correctly. The "adjust for DST" box is checked. I also ran TZEDIT to confirm that my DST dates are correct.

One revelation (and I believe herein lies the key). If I look on computer A at the bottom of the "Date and Time Properties box: the current time zone says : Eastern *STANDARD* time. If I look at computers B, C or D. The "Date and Time Properties box says: current time zone: Eastern *DAYLIGHT* time. I can not find any way to change the "STANDARD" to "DAYLIGHT".

Now for the big question. How is this resolved?

Thank you.

Hello,

I can't account for the hour offset on the system image but I really wouldn't worry about it at this time; however, if it happens consistently, then I would consider it to be an issue. Yes, you can add or delete time servers as required but it is done via the registry so be careful. You'll find them here in Win 8.0:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DateTime\Servers

Good luck.

I ran Dial-a-fix. it recognized the problem but couldn't fix it or give any help. Hi PorPorMe !

What's the label of the XP Pro CD : right-click => properties on the CD drive or start => run => cmd => label d: (press enter and n to leave the label unchanged). If it's an OEM system what's the brand and model ?

Your issue could be a remnant of one of the infections (they rarely come alone and 6 different tools can miss the same infection). I advise that you follow these steps before running sfc or trying the repair installation : http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...oval-help.html

Once you know your system is clean run sfc /scannow (mind the space after sfc). If this is SP3 you'll need a CD with SP3 slipstreamed on it.

You could also try a repair install of XP : uninstall IE7, boot on the XP SP3 CD, press enter at the first screen to "setup windows now", accept the licence agreement and press R to "repair the selected installation".

Don't leave more than one antivirus, firewall and anti-spyware running in the background or they'll conflict with each other and will leave the door open to more malwares.

Hi Sylveon If your clock keeps on resetting under Windows, chances are that your BIOS' time isn't properly set. I suggest you to boot in it and adjust it if necessary. If you adjust it and it can't keep it's setting on further reboots, then you'll most likely have to change your CMOS battery.

I work and live in two different time zones. I'd like to display my home time zone, but my system time must be set to the network time and gets reset if I change it. Hello JS, and welcome to Eight Forums.

If this isn't what you were referring to as the tool-tip time, you could use the additional clock feature in Windows to have up to two other clocks set to whatever time zone you like. You would click or hover the pointer on the clock on the taskbar to see them.

I am running Avast and Zone Alarm (both free editions) instead of buying Norton. My friend who is my tech guy is still in Afghanistan and I don't want to bother him with this. I am using these antivirus programs at his advice; of course he has a much better system than I do.

My pc is about 5 years old: emachines T3985, Celeron CPu 2.93 GHz w/ 496 or ram. Windows XP, Home Edition 2002, Service Pack 3.

I am fair with tech knowledge. I can't afford a new pc, so this one will have to do.....Anyway; my pc will not open any programs when it is turned on (like starting after being shut down). I have to manually turn it off 5-8 times before anything will open up. When I click on Outlook, or Explorer, it does nothing. I have CCleaner which I run often to try and clean any spyware off it.

Do I need both of these antivirus programs. I noticed today that when the Zone alarm icon is not in the tray, the pc will not open up. When it's there, everything works fine.

I still have this pc due to money and I have a web site (CUTE Site Builder) that I have for my part time business, that won't work with XP.

Is is memory, too many programs running or the antivirus programs? Please forgive me if thsi is not the correct forum, as I'm sure someone will let me know.

It's pretty simple. The internal clock on your computer is set incorrectly. Click on the time/date in the lower right hand corner of your desktop, and select the "Change date and time settings..." hyperlink. Set the time zone to "Central Time Zone". Now
adjust the time explicitly by selecting the "Change date and time". If you are within 2 or 3 minutes of the correct time, the computer should eventually sync with an external time server.

You cannot make a separate time zone for games, you can set the calendar back on the clock to whatever date and time you want. Be aware that many programs, especially Microsoft, and Windows will not update if you have the incorrect time/date/time zone.

Recently created a new hotmail account, when I try to select time zone and languge, it gets stuck on this page no matter what i choose. Any thoughts?

A:Stuck on language/time zone screen

Check that you don't have Adblock or any scriptblocker ad-on enabled. Also check that you have cookies enabled.

If that doesn't work, did you happen to create the account with a client using a different language? If so, see here.

I installed Windows 10 a few weeks ago, and other than the fact that Edge doesn't work (at all), that Microsoft Office keeps disappearing from the apps list and that the list of recently-viewed pages in IE is unstable, it's been working fine. Fast, fairly intuitive - I quite like it. Even my printer's status monitor works, which it never did with Win 7.

Since about twelve hours ago, however, it's suddenly decided that I live in Kuwait. Every time I change the time zone back to GMT, it stays that way for around an hour, and then jumps three hours ahead again - always apparently because it's changed the timezone, rather than because the clock is fast.

It's extremely annoying. Anybody out there got a solution?

I just did a fresh install of Win7 Pro 64bit and it won't allow me to change my time zone or region.

It has the time zone set to International Date Line West and the Region is set to Africa.

When I try to change it it just rolls back. I tried installing Win7 Ult x64 and the same thing happened.

This is really getting frustrating and I can't seem to find any help for it.

I checked my BIOS and the date and time are correct for where I am, EST.

Can anyone help or know how to fix this. When I try to install a program like Avast where you choose the language it automatically selects some other language like an Arabic or something that doesn't even use English letters.

I definately clicked UK when setting this up but I see from my previous new threads that I am hours out of date. How do I change it please? (I have checked FAQs here and also searched but no luck.)
