Livekernelevent code ab hardware error

Q: Livekernelevent code ab hardware error

I just installed the latest cumulative update and when I checked reliability history it listed a hardware fail event, livekernelevent code ab. Anyone know what that's about? PC seems fine though. And I rebooted a few times and was unable to repeat the error, bit concerned by it though!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey people,
some weeks ago I started having this problem when I play an specific game (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive). Few minutes after I start the game the computer freezes, the screen become brown and I have to reset it (since I disabled auto reboot on system failure). My graphics card is relatively new in comparison to the rest of the system. I have one HDD that have a failure (don't remember witch one), that is where the OS and all the programs (except the games) are installed on, the HDD that holds the games is fine. It only happens when I play this specific game. On the Reliability Monitor I get Hardware Error.

Hi Guys,

Lately I've been having some annoying problems with my laptop screen suddenly freeze and turns black. Sometimes it freezes and the screen just blinks like crazy.

PS : I don't use my laptop for playing games anymore. I am using it mostly for browsing and watching HD movies, but all the errors happened when I did the browsing on the net or accessing my iTunes.

My laptop is Alienware M15x, 8GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M (65 W) and I am using the latest driver provided on Dell's page.

Thank you

A:Video Hardware Error - LiveKernelEvent

Hi there,
Here are a few things to try with this error.
1.) make sure all vents on the laptop are clean and clear, there might be a heat build up causing the video to crash.
2.) make sure you check for malware
3.) even tho you have the most current drivers try to uninstall them reboot and reinstall one of the files might have become corrupt.
4.) make sure you have updated your directx files one might have become corrupt.

Try this and let us know.

Hi, this is only happening when my GTX 1080 is being used during gaming or used with BOINC.

The 1080's fans will go to 100% and the screen will go black.

Mouse and keyboard won't work and I have to hold down the power button on the PC and reboot.

It can happen after 1 minute or 1 hour, there is no pattern.

The card is not overheating, MSI afterburner has it at about 60 degrees C.

Windows and NVidia drivers are up to date.

Any suggestions please? Thanks

Hello Roebuck and welcome to the Forums,

Please follow the BSOD Posting Instructions and upload the .zip file created so that we can analyze your problem.

The BSoD you are experiencing, Stop Code 0x117, is usually the result of a failing GPU driver, but we can't be sure until we've seen your dump files.

Also, when I look at your system specs, I see that you have "Victoria" listed as your OS? Please correctly fill in your system specs by following this tutorial.
Good luck and keep us updated,

Have Windows 10 AU UPDATE. When i am clicking close system ( turn off pc ) , system closing fine, pc closing fine. But after that when i boot to Windows 10 it boots fine but event log register livekernelevent: win32k.sys.There was not bluescreen i dont saw a bluescreen. So question. It is related to my hardware or system?

LivekernelEvent - win32k.sys - it is related to hardware issue?

But why i dont saw a bluescreen and windows only report this.

Memtest86 no errors. Games are not crashing. No Bsods,no freezing etc.

Windows 10 ,newest Anniversary update.

PC:6700k stock

Asus Z170-P

Corsair 750

Maybe a BUG? because it does not display any BSODs or works strange.

The Lenovo Solution Center performed a hardward scan and it returned 1 error and instructed me to click on the link to submit an eticket. So I clicked on the link and got nothing but confusion from that point on. I can't find anywhere to submit a ticket to just find out what the error code is. All I get presented with are charged support options. I'm not experiecing any hardware issue as my systemseems to run just fine. But I would like to know what this error code points to. The code is"W1AH5U4VT-G4H1Z4". How can I find out what this is?

A:Hardware Scan Error Code

If you re-open the Lenovo Solutions Center and select Hardware Scan, on that page there is a See Last Results link that will show you the report created during the last scan, and in that report it should show you what part of the test caused the error. It may be something simple to fix with an updated driver (a lot of times it is just a video driver failing the Mathmatical Operations test), but hopefully that information will help you find a solution. BTW If it is the Mathmatical Opertaions test that failed, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for your video card, or just updating to a newer version will usually fix that error. Cheers,

I have aquired a HP Laptop that the Ethernet appears to be defective. It shows up as This Device Cannot Start (Code 10). I did a complete reinstall because it was using Windows 7 (was purchased by the owner) and I figured it was a driver issue. The original (and now current) OS is Windows Vista and the same thing shows.

I was looking in the properties of the Ethernet card for the vendor ID to make sure I got the correct driver (website has different make drivers) and saw there was a listing that says Problem Code with a value of 000000A -- I was wondering if this is the same like a STOP code or if there is a website with these codes? I have a screenshot of an example.

I'm pretty sure the Ethernet card is toast, I just wanted to make sure.

A:Error code listed in hardware properties

pretty sure that the problem code 00000016 represents some driver issue, but that's going of a total of three instances, so consider that......

starting to agree that the card is cooked, however.

Hi All

Just posting a new post as I thought I might have the same problem as someone else but turns out my error code is different and can not find out what this error code is trying to tell me, through searches of the net, of if something does come up they say I have to pay to find out what to do and they don’t even give info on what the error code means.

Anyway I was given a notebook to look at, (HP) Pavilion Entertainment PC Model DV9700 on warranty tag it has DV9724TX

This notebook was not working when handed to me and it had already been given to a computer place to fix, they where unable to.

It was returned with one drive missing, which owners did not know till I opened it up.

I have since taken out the remaining hard drive and connected it to a desk top and loaded on XP Pro with service packs all updates and drivers for the NOTEBOOK only, I did not load the drivers for the pc I was using to get this drive ready.

I put this drive back into the notebook and it starts to boot, and the logo starts to load then a blue screen came up with white writing with an error code.

Then it disappears before I can get the error code and it starts to reboot, it will keep doing this.

Anyway I got a tip on how to stop the rebooting so the blue screen stay’s long enough for me to read the code, I changed a setting by putting the drive back on to the desk top I used to load everything in the first place, then put it back in the notebook to get the blue screen ag... I ran a hardware scan and I got this error code, what does this mean?

A:Hardware Scan Error Code WHD01v01i-HM9A5H

Hi Kamilah3,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The code generated by Lenovo Solutions Center are decoded by an internal tool of Lenovo technical support for recommendations to call in. But the details of the scan can be interpreted by Read and Write errors or S.M.A.R.T. failures that meant that the harddrive falls short of its integrity.

In such event, the immediate backup should be done for possible failing harddrive to be expected in the near future. SMART test alerts users to protect their data before it happens. Call technical support for In-warranty repair.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards

I just installed the latest cumulative update and when I checked reliability history it listed a hardware fail event, livekernelevent code ab. Anyone know what that's about? PC seems fine though. And I rebooted a few times and was unable to repeat the error, bit concerned by it though!

EDIT - seems to be a bug in the latest cumulative update as we see the exact same in our other machine! Possibly triggered by signing out of one user account and into another. As I can't then subsequently repeat the error I think it's a one off that happens initially after the update but will monitor the reliability history closely to see if it happens again on either of our machines

Yeah, stumbled across this thread while trying to figure out the problem. Seems like it's a bug right after installing the latest update like you said since it's happening on multiple machines. I only have one user account on my computer so it seems like that's not the problem.

Hello all,

I have a problem with Windows Update agent on Windows 7 SP1 enterprise.

WARNING: SOAP Fault: 0x00012c

I've tried several actions although none does any help. Here is the list of actions:
- upgrade windows update agent to the latest version
- windows update agent reset by this instructions https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/971058/how-do-i-reset-windows-update-components

It looks like significant Windows 7 error, although reinstalling is not my option.

Ok - I'm trying to fix my friends' computer - Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975 running Windows 7 32-bit

Windows firewall is off and I need to "Update Firewall Settings". When I click use recommended settings, I get a message that says it "can't change some of your settings. Error code 0x80070424" I get the same thing when I click on "Turn Windows Firewall on or off" and "Restore Defaults"

When I click on "Advanced Settings" I get "There was an error opening the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in" followed by it "failed to load. Restart the Windows Firewall service on the computer you are managing. Error code 0x6D9."

I scanned the computer using both Avast and Microsoft Safety Scanner (full scan and took over 2 hours) - no infections or issues found

I installed all Microsoft updates and followed suggested restarts.

I ran Microsoft Fix It and I get a message that the firewall isn't running or stopped and it can't be fixed.

I have gone into services as an administrator to try and start Windows Firewall...it isn't there - not in the list of services (local)

I also used SlimDrivers to update all the drivers on the computer.

What I am not seeing is how to uninstall and reinstall Windows Firewall...any other program or hardware issue, that would seem to be the easiest solution - but I have yet to see how to do that with Windows Firewall.

I even started the computer in safe mode... Read more

Help: LiveKernelEvent

Hello everybody,
thank you for taking the time to look at my problem (I wasnt definate which forum it should go into, so apologies if I have the wrong one).

Okay, I have been having alot of problems with my computer recently and the history of it goes back a fair while, so I will do my best to explain the problem and will post my spec at the end of the post (please feel free to ask for any additional information as I am not great with computers).

Originally the problem started around nine months ago, when i started to recieve this error message "Display driver atikmdag has stopped responding and successfully recovered". After trawling through the internet and trying dozens of fixes, I upgraded my ram which seemed to fix the problem. Recently however I bought a game called Starcaft II and the problem returned. My first response was to update the ati drivers however this did not fix the problem and if anything it has become worse. When I used to recieve the "Atikmdag" error, my computer would freeze for a moment, the screen would then go black for about 5 seconds and then catch up with itself. Now however my computer is completely crashing, Ctrl + Alt + Del does not work, so I have to manually restart the computer. (Strangely when I originally bought Starcraft II, the game didnt really have any problems, except for the very occasional Atikmdag error, now however I can play for around 8 minutes and it will freeze).

Diagnostic Test

RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

   Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

From the Windows Debugging Tools Help file:Bug Check 0x117: VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTEDThe VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTED bug check has a value of 0x00000117. This indicates that the display driver failed to respond in a timely fashion. It would appear that something is interfering with a driver in kernel mode (most likely the video driver). The first step would be to uninstall your video drivers and install a freshly downloaded copy of the most recently released, WHQL certified drivers from your video card manufacturer.

I had this computer built with a generic brand power supply. I had major problems with BSOD when playing games, but normally when playing games only. I assumed it was the PSU so I replaced it with a Corsair 750 WATT 80 Plus Gold RM750x. For two months I went by without a single incident. But starting two weeks ago I had two random events. One when just on my desktop, and another shortly after I jumped into GTA V later that day, assuming it was just another random event, not related to the game.

I went two weeks without issue since. But the last two days I ran into two more instances of a BSOD. These are random and, not when doing any real task. One I was AFK and came back to my computer to see Windows loading up again.

The instance from yesterday showed a long list of "Hardware Failures" on the Reliability history, though they all seemed to be the same of "Two" different messages.

This is a desktop PC with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed. I'm trying to repair with the disk it was installed with originally. The reason for attempting the repair is that the System File Checker says there are files that it could not repair when I ran it. I ran it originally because I couldn't install or uninstall anything. I would get an error: This application was unable to start correctly. With error message (0xC0000006)

Now trying to repair Windows 7 with the upgrade option I get:
Windows was unable to create a required installation folder. Please reconfigure your boot.wim to use the flag 9 settings for the first image and restart your installation. Error Code: 0x803002f

Any help greatly appreciated....

A:Started with error code 0xC0000006 and now I have Error Code: 0x803002

You may need to attempt SFC up to 3 times to repair damaged System Files. But first disinfect per Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7. If there is any problem go with the bootable scans in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start as the OS may be in the death grip of infection.

Then SFC may run better from the Win7 installation media or System Repair Disk Command Line: SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

If these fail then you can try the Repair Install after establishing a Clean Boot per Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

But you may be better off copying out your files to quarantine to follow these same steps for a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which compiles everything that works best in tens of thousands of installs we've helped with here.

Hi All,
I'm new here and I think I messed up the post that I made. I had meant to say that all of a sudden I can't use windows installer service I get error code 8007641 or error code 641. I'm unsure why I'm not able to use windows installer anymore and I'm not able to get valuable updates from windows without it. Has anyone else ever had this problem and if so, were they able to come up with a solution? Thank you. This is my first day on the site and unsure how to get around on it, but it seems like it's an exciting site and I'm looking forward to using it.
Thanks,
Miket797

No-one replied to this post and so the problem was never fixed.
(The updates continued to fail downloading or installing)
I upgraded to Windows 10 Home and thankfully didn't need to have the updates installed to upgrade.

Back in April this year I downloaded two important updates:

1) Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 x64-based Systems (KB3023222)

2) Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 x64-based Systems (KB3032663)

However during the installation I encountered Error Code: 80073712
I tryed the installation again without anything else open and still the same result
I tryed the installation again having restarted and still the same result
I tryed the installation again after running the DISM Tool and still the same result

Yesterday (17/7/15) I tryed to download another important update:

1) Security Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB3004365)

However during the download I encountered Error Code: 800F081F
I tryed everything that I tryed previously and still the same result

I searched around and both of these error codes apparently mean that a file needed by Windows Update is either damaged or missing

I thought I might as-well start a thread about it on these forums as not being able to download/install security updates isn't a good thing

Please Reply!

First of all try to check if ALT+F10 at boot take you to windows recovery and you can reach command prompt from there:troubleshoot-advanced options- command prompt (if this works, go to point 4, if not point 1)1. create a vanilla Windows 8.1 installation media from this link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media2. Once you boot using the Windows installation disc, on the Windows 8.x installation window, click on Repair your computer.3. Click on Troubleshoot and in the Advanced options. First thing you may try is the Automatic Repair.4. If that does not help, then select Command Prompt. Enter the following four commands into the prompt.bootrec /fixmbrbootrec /fixbootbootrec /scanosbootrec /rebuildbcdOnce the command completes, restart the computer.

hi. some games (source games) have crashed at random times during the game (= no heat issues). the screen freezes, stripes appear which distort the image and force me to restart the system. the microsoft windows files report BSOD 116 and LiveKernelEvent 117. the mindump files state the code 0x100000ea THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER. ive contacted the microsoft support who pointed out these files (according to sysinternals):
- rdpclip: not found
- cpuz 134: not found
- lp In lp: not founf
- nwlnkFlt /nwlnkFwd: not found_
- BVTConsumer: not found

ive tried different settings, launch options, drivers (acer original, ati 13.9 latest driver offered by ati, 13.1, 13.1) and intel drivers, updating windows and directx and i already did a sfc scan (which couldnt fix the corrupted files; cant access the cbs files) on the current fresh windows installation with all updates but the problem persists. ive run the system update readiness tool which seems to have fixed some files since the start up is a lot faster now and it runs smoother.

i cant access the log files (cbs etc.) which prevents me from uploading them but ive uploaded a sfcdetails.txt file. ive also attached a collection of files (sysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip) that include dxdiag, minidump files and others that will be helpful.

this is driving me INSANE. your help is HIGHLY appreciated

Hi everyone, this is my first post and i wasnt quite sure where to post it, but anyway here it is

i purchased a game today called Pro Cycling Manager 2009. As the automatic activation won't work i must do it manually, however, to do this i require a serial (which i have) and a "Hardware Code". I have no idea how to find this and ,after googling for 3 hours, have been unable to find a solution. i have downloaded numerous programs but none have given me the illusive hardware code.

please help, i want to play my game

P.S. if it helps, this is the site i was told to activate from...http://proactive.star-force.com/2.0/activate.php

please help, thank you.

A:Can't Get My Hardware Code

Hi,
Welcome to TSF.

I have recently bought a second hand laptop - The Medion Akoya s5610 - please see this link for review. Full specs are: Medion Akoya s5610 Laptop, s5610 Motherboard, Intel Mobile Core2Duo P7350 2Ghz, Intel PM45 Chipset, 3GB PC2-5300 333Mhz DDR2 RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470 256mb, 320 GB HD.

Initially it wasnt working properly and needed a clean install of Vista. So after doing that i downloaded and installed all the drivers from the Medion website (as I didnt have the original setup disc).

Everything seemed to be ok, however after turning it off and leaving it overnight, the screen would sometimes flicker with green and pink stripes randomly or not show anything at all when turning it on. Now im not sure if Windows is still booting ok when the screen is off, but the blue led's were still flashing and working as normal, as if it was booting. It will take a few times of turning off and back on - or plugging the hdmi lead into the tv before the screen comes back on - and boots fine with no problem.

Now, this only happens after the laptop has been left off for a good 10 hours, if I were to turn it off now and back on it would seem to be fine. It is very strange.

I checked the Problem Reports and Solutions centre in Vista and it seems whenever this happens there has been a "Video Hardware Error". Please see below for the 2 events that usually occur:

Possibly a quick question - I'm unable to load Windows and I've got Short DST Failure: Q0AFV3-7PD89P-PXPALJ-60Q503 with Product ID: K5G63AA#ABA. Is this just a failed hard drive or something else? I can install a new HD without problem. If it's something else then I've obviously got bigger problems. That failure code sheet isn't exactly written for the semi-technologically inclined. Thanks!

Hi,

I have had my PC for about 3 years and both the CD-R and CD-RW have worked fine. Last week both drives disappeared from My Computer. When I go into Device Manager they are both visible but have an exclamation mark against them in a yellow background. Under properties I get this message 'Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)'

They both still have power and I have checked the internal connections. I am running Windows XP.

Can anyone suggest what I try next?

Cheers,

Aldo

Hi guys, first time posting so apologies in advance if I do something illegal. As far as I can gather, I should be posting in the right forum. I've been having system stability problems for the last week or so. I think it might be because of a mass driver update across my system since nothing else seems to be the cause.

Basically, I updated some drivers bout a week ago and now the PC either hangs or auto-restart when I'm playing games. At first I thought it might be due to OC instability, so I reset my bios to default settings. Didn't quite work out completely as the system still exhibits the "sudden death" during gaming.

Have tried the steps in the sticky above on refreshing the page file. defragging etc. Problem still hasn't gone away. All rams have cleared 7 cycles of memtest at 2.65 volts and 2.6 volts without problems, though everything has been reset to stock already.

My system specs are as follows :
AMD 64X2 4200+
MSI K8N Neo 4 Platinum
2 x 512mb Kingston CH5 PC3200 DDR
2 x 512mb Mushkin Black Line BH5 DDR
Inno 6600GT 128mb
Creative Audugy ZS Platinum
BenQ 1640
Gigabyte CD-RW
Hitachi/IBM 80GB SATA II
Western Digital 240GB SATA HD
Verudium Vortex 430W

Am fairly sure its not a power issue and the core temp never exceeds 49 degrees even at full load. Its about 44/45 idle. Am guessing it might be the soundcard though... Anyone able to help?

Would be most grateful for any assistance and thanks in advance.
