Embedded picture with hotmail

Q: Embedded picture with hotmail

Hi everyone, I am trying to send an embedded picture to hotmail and when I sent a test to myself with hotmail, the image is cut to the right and I cannot use the slide to view the rest of the picture.

I tried to send the same picture to my yahoo and gmail account and it works perfectly. I can see the entire picture in my screen without having to move it.

Why cannot I see the full picture with hotmail? and why hotmail doesn't even give me the opportunity to move the picture?

Thank you for your help.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

How do you save as a separate graphics file a photo that is embedded in a Word document? The intuitive thing would be to right-click, expecting to see "Save picture as", but there is no such option. Nor can I find anything under Word's Tools or Save options. Nothing about this on a Search of Tech Support Guy. There is a thread on pasting a picture into a Word document, but not the other way around. Anyone's advice would be appreciated.

A:How to save embedded picture?

What kind of results do you get if you select it, then rightclick & copy, then paste into eg: PaintBrush and Save As?

NB - you'd want to resize your PaintBrush "canvas" to tiny before pasting so that it autosizes.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!

I'm having a problem understanding why sometimes either jpg or gif Images when attached to an E-Mail message one of the following conditions are present:

1. Images are shown as attachments and are embedded in the E-Mail and show as full images.

2. Images are shown as attachments and are embedded in the E-Mail and show as "empty boxes" and to view them they must be downloaded and opened one at a time.

3. Images are shown as attachments and are embedded in the E-Mail and show as "empty boxes" at the beginning of the E-Mail then by scrolling down the images are there as full images.

4. Images are shown as attachments and are NOT embedded in the E-Mail and to view them they must be downloaded and opened one at a time.

Also if I receive an E-Mail with fully viewable either jpg or gif images embedded and I forward this message to someone else the "empty" box condition occurs.

I feel good about forwarding an E-Mail but I get replies that there was nothing in the body of the E-Mail and/or there were no attachments or there were attachments but they couldn't open them.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you may have regarding this subject.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Don

Most of the mail that I get does not display the imbedded pictures that people send.

I believe they are there because if I hit the "reply" button and the window pops up, the picture is there. There is one exception. I subscribed to a site of a guy in Toronto who posts a daily picture and it shows up every day with the picture in place.

I have XP Home SP2 in a PC Club Enpower w/Intel Core 2. Comcast has McAfee Security and I have those set at medium and think I have gone into IE and checked all the show picture boxes I can find.

I called Comcast and they have no idea what is going on and have never seen this situation.

I tried forwarding the Emails to myself with the same results so it appears to be pretty consistent.

Any idea where to go from here?

It sounds as if you are accessing your mail using Comcast webmail. If this is the case:Open webmail. Check under Preferences then Display, and make sure that Display HTML in the body of email is checked under choose how to display email messages containing HTML.I'm also going to direct you to the Comcast help forums. Those forums are provided to Comcast customers, and are a great resource for vendor specific issues. There are forums for computer issues, email issues, security, internet, cable tv, and CDV. Many times we, the users there, can provide answers tech support and customer service can't. Click the link below, you'll be sent to the sign in page. Log in with your Comcast user ID (the part before .net) and your password. You will next see a first time forum users page, asking you to choose a screen name for use in the forums. In hot mail, look in top right corner you will see option and click on it.
There you will scroll down to more options and it will open up to manage your accounts.
You then can find how to change your theme or anything else you want.
Hope this will help you.

Hi.

I've searched for hours looking for a solution to my problem with no luck so I thought i'd try here...

When trying to attach photos to an outgoing email in Hotmail using the Picture Editing and Attaching Tool no photos appear in the folder I select in the explorer window.

I have all my windows folders down the left hand side. When I highlight a folder I know contains pictures I get the message 'No photos in this folder.'

My laptop computer is brand new and has windows XP home edition included together with service pack 2. I downloaded the photo tool without any problems onto my computer. All other aspects of hotmail work OK except the photo tool which used to work on my old computer.

What am I doing wrong?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance....

I have found this BUG in Micrososft Word 2007, that I consider to be a SERIOUS ISSUE for Microsoft Office Suite.

If you copy an image from a website and paste in the Word file, the image pastes successfully the first time,
but as you go on & paste other images from the site,
the first image is repeated over and over again, in place of other images (which have the same dimensions).
All other text data remain same, the image titles remain same, but only the image is repeated over and over

PLZ SOMEONE...
HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM?

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I would not advise pasting images in doc files like that,
I would use ms Paint to paste or save picture as
I would really recommend using the windows snipping tool to get the images that way no bugs are being transferred to the machine or programs,
Then use the Insert image option in word...
It's just a safer way to do an operation,
Cheers.

Hello newbiew, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Since you Microsoft account is synced by default, then it most likely automatically changed back after syncing.

If you wanted to have the same user account picture for all devices, then changing it for everything should help.

If you only wanted to change it on this PC, then you could turn off syncing for Appearance under "Personalization settings" using the tutorial below.

I am running Windows XP Professional 2002 and Microsoft Office 2003 (Outlook 2003)

I was using the older version of Outlook Connector to access my Hotmail account, but recently it said that I needed to upgrade it. The automatic upgrade did not work properly, so I manually removed/un-installed the old Outlook Connector, removed the hotmail account within Outlook, and I also removed a bunch of hotmail.ost files hanging around that seemed to have no data in them (in C:\Documents and Settings\Default\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook) - I believe they were formed when I was going through all the problems with the supposedly automatic upgrade).

Then I manually downloaded and installed the newest version 14.1 for 32-bit and through the Outlook connector interface within Outlook, re-added the Hotmail account. But now when I try to click on any Hotmail folder, the following error message appears:
"Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not access the specified folder location."

So I feel like I am back at square one and not sure how to get the Connector to start connecting. Thanks for any advice.

A:Can't delete Hotmail or Yahoo mail and can't open Hotmail

Hi
Lots of people have problems with Yahoo and Hotmail accounts. The most common causes seem to be cookie rejection, incorrect firewall settings, and/or an overly aggressive and intrusive firewall like ZoneAlarm that does a lot of things without asking.

Are you able to access the email accounts from a computer at another location? (other house, library, etc.)

Did you recently change any settings in a program or install a new program or a new version of or update for one, especially some security program (firewall, antivirus, etc.)?

Do you have a router?

Is your trash folder overfull?

I cant access my HOTMAIL accounts- HOTMAIL support?

I learned about Microsofts new policy of not allowing you to send email from Hotmail using its own products Outlook and Outlook Express unless you are paying an additional fee, when I replied to a (Hotmail) email while using OE. After sending my reply I received an error message that OE could not access the account. It then proceeded to DELETE all my previous email message in outlook express for this account.

A web search then led me discover that this account was one of those now requiring payment of a fee to send mail using Outlook or OE instead of logging on to the website. (They are doing this in stages so some HOTMAIL accounts still allow the free use and access with Outlook/OE.)

I then tried to sign on to my account using another Microsoft product Internet Explorer- initially everything looked unchanged,

1. however after typing in my name and password instead of opening my account

2. I got a new screen of scrambled letters designed to prove that a person and not a machine is accessing my account.

3. I type in these scrambled letters and one of two things happens:

a. (Usually) I receive yet another screen of scrambled letters to input

b. (Occasionally) I receive the sign in screen again EITHER WAY

4. Whichever screen I receive- whether I input scrambled letters yet again or insert my name and password the process repeats itself and one of two things happens:

A:I can't acces my HOTMAIL account- Hotmail Tech Support?

I've never used Outlook or Outlook Express in any form my self, so I can only offer some limited suggestions for sorting this out.

First: have you tried deleting all cookies and accessing the account? If using XP/2k -- it may even be helpful to try creating a new User Profile and logging in under that, this will ensure you have an entirely new web cache, index.dat and cookie folder.

Try accessing the account from another computer and see if you get in that way.

It turns out that if I download a picture file to the photo app in 8.1, without putting it in a particular pre-existing folder, the file goes into the general area of the app displayed alongside several other non-related pictures. Okay, no problem. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to then move a single image file into one of the pre-existing folders I had created at an earlier time. If your suggestion is to open both the folder and the picture file side by side on the screen and then click and drag, I have no idea how to do that. Is there no way to right-click the image and find a way to select "move to", or something along those lines; or is there a pull-down menu that I can't find with the app open that contains a command to "move to"?
Any suggestions?
Thanks so much,

Well, you have many options. What you are looking for is this:

Context Menu - Add Copy To Folder and Move To Folder - Windows 7 Help Forums

But you can just copy the pics and paste them into the folder you like.

The side by side is easy too. Just open the source folder and press WIN + Right arrow. Then open the target folder and press WIN + left arrow, Now you can drag and drop from one folder to the other.

Seems from reading this forum http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=195010 that you can only have a hotmail.com address if you are from the USA, as you need to have a zip code,it must have changed since I have a hotmail.com account for the last 8 years and Im in the UK , there used to be options at one time for hotmail.co.uk or hotmail.com,seems they are not there anymore ...In any case I think they are both the same in the way they work,I did switch once years ago and they were identical .....

I removed Outlook Hotmail Connector because I considered it bloatware. I don't use Hotmail. I use a hybrid system involving Outlook for my computer and Gmail for my Andriod phone and that is working fine.

After removing Connector, I kept getting a message from Outlook about installing the "upgrade" Hotmail Connector. As I was having the red x problem with graphic images not appearing in my Outlook emails, in despair I allowed it to load. The real fix came through as SP2 after I repaired Windows Update and got it working again.

So, is it bloatware? Is there a downside to removing it? Is it benign enough to just leave it alone? What would you do?

Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

Hello,

I have tried to find an answer to this but cannot. Lately, I noticed my User Account Picture was not the picture I had selected. In addition, the Background Picture for my Windows 7 Home Premium edition log on screen was changed. This happened after running a program that is for exams at school which reboots your computer into a safe mode where the only program available is a rudimentary word processor.

I contacted the company that makes that software, Examsoft, and they told me how to get my default logon picture for my Windows Logon background back.

To address the User Account picture, I went into Control Panel > User Accounts and attempted to "change picture". This is not an option, however, for my administrator user account. It is an option for my guest account. I tried cloning my account without the bad .dat files, but that didn't work either as the new account I had created, also an administrator account, did not display a "change picture" option in control panel either.

I ran sfc /scannow, and it found no errors.

I am not sure what to do. Has anyone encountered this? Can you please help me?

Attached is a screen shot:

Thank You.

The Hotmail message "We can't connect to Hotmail right now. Please make sure that you're connected to the internet and try again." seems to appear all the time.

Is this caused by poor internet speed, because I've got that, or is it something with google chrome, the browser I'm using? When I'm using the Hotmail mailbox it seems to work okay, but this message appears, seems like, every time I use it.

It's mainly annoying since I can't understand the cause of why it appears. If I'm not really noticing a problem while accessing Hotmail, why does this message appear so frequently?

A:Frequently get Hotmail message "We can't connect to Hotmail right now"

Hotmail is changing to Outlook. Hotmail.com will be outlook.com

So, there might be some technical error.Try again after one day

Many an internet page is riddled with many ads. Some words of text are in green and when the cursor is on that word, without being clicked, a popup ad appears (for Spyware in one case) which has to be turned off. Other words, in blue, are ads for a different product. In some cases there are two words together, one of each colour.

If I copy the text (eg a tutorial) I get exactly the same copied to my Word document. It is possible to delete those words and retype them in black. But it can be a mammoth job.

Is there a way to turn those links off in either the internet page or the Word document? And is it only me, because of my (unknown) settings or does everyone suffer from the same thing?

Any ideas on this one?
Mike
