I just received my desktop Inspiron 3268 today. I have two monitors both  dell p2017h.
I am unable to set up dual screen with these monitors.
I have tried to connect a vga cable from the desktop to monitor 1, then use a dp cable to connect both monitors.
Monitor 1 works fine, monitor 2 states : NO DP PORT CABLE, THIS DISPLAY WILL GO INTO POWER SAVE MODE IN 4 MINUTES.
THE ONLY SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME WAS CONNECT VGA FROM DESKTOP TO MONITOR 1 AND CONNECT HDMI CABLE FROM DESKTOP TO MONITOR 2.
please help
fyi i have also tried multiple cable swaps, restarting pc.

A:DELL INSPIRON 3268 DESKTOP NOT CONNECTING DUAL MONITORS P2017H

That is the only way to have dual monitors using the onboard video. As you know VGA is less than ideal. You can try to find a mid range low profile discrete video card with dual monitor support. It will be hard to find video cards for your small model desktop. You cannot fit or run big high powered cards in your model. You have a limited psu and very limited space in the tower. Make sure to measure and check power requirements.

Is there anyway i could upgrade Dell Inspiron 15 7000  to Dell Inspiron 15 7567 Gaming for extra bit of money?? i am looking to get better performance on gaming?

A:UPGRADE Dell Inspiron 15 7000 to Dell Inspiron 15 7567 Gaming??

You'd need to sell the system and buy the new one.  The "extra bit" of money will likely be more than a bit, as used computers will sell for 30-50% of what they did new -- warranty or not.

I'm trying to decide between purchasing the 2001 or the 2005 for gaming. Has anyone tried either?

A:Has anyone used Dell 2001 or 2005 20inch monitors for gaming?

Are those TFTs ? The larger TFTs are still not as fast as smaller ones such as 17" TFTs. 19 TFTs are borderline for gaming if you don't intend to spend more then $400 for a low response time TFT, but 20" & above are still way to slow to play FPS games for example.

If you play RTS games or games such as WoW, it won't be as evident, you might actualy not notice a thing but for fast paced games, it won't be acceptable (especialy considering the price these go for).

Hello,
I have been looking for verification that if I buy the Dell 24 Gaming Monitor – S2417DG and attach it to my Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 HDMI that I will get full 2560x1440 resolution refresh rate 165 Hz with 1ms response as the Monitor specs are listed.
I can find no information that the HDMI will pass this level of output.
I have talked to Dell tech support and they do say that the HDMI port is connected directly to the  NVIDIA  GeForce GTX 1050T i with 4GB GDDR5 but I also have seen information that HDMI will not support this.
So I am looking for verification on this configuration being compatible/able to output the full capabilities of the video card to the monitor via the on board HDMI output?

A:Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 HDMI Specs/Does HDMI out support full bandwidth for G-SYNC Dell Gaming Monitor – S2417DG

First of all, G-Sync as far as I know requires DisplayPort and will not run on HDMI.  Even if it does, I don't think even HDMI 2.0 has enough bandwidth for 1440p @ 165 Hz.  And even if it does though, all of the Dell systems I've seen have only had HDMI 1.4, which is only enough for 1440p @ 60 Hz.  But even if all of that isn't a problem, does the Inspiron 7567 have ONLY a GeForce GPU, or does it have an Intel GPU plus a GeForce GPU?  If it's the latter, G-Sync will definitely not work because in almost all systems that have both GPUs, only the Intel GPU is directly wired to the display outputs.  If your system has ONLY the GeForce GPU, then G-Sync should work in theory, but again you may have the bandwidth problems I mentioned above.

Hi all,
What's the best solution to get a decent dual monitor setup for our new Dell desktop?
We currently have two AOC monitors connected one via HDMI, one via VGA but the user is complaining that the VGA one is a bit blurry.
Do we just have to *** it up or would using a VGA->HDMI converter improve things?
How about adding a cheap video card with a Displayport port?
Or should i just be able to set the monitor up manually to best cope with the VGA input.
All thoughts welcome :)

Is there a setting that allows me to close the laptop while still working off the two monitors?
Thanks,

A:Closing Dell Inspiron 15 laptop when connected to monitors shuts down computer

Check your Power Settings for what happens when you close the lid. Usually the laptop sleeps, hibernates or shuts down when the lid is closed. No signal is sent to monitors when that happens.

If so, what device would you recommend? I've done research into this but I'm getting confused on what I need if this laptop has the capability to do this.

Yesterday I received the new Inspirion 7000 gaming (7567). As it only has 256gb in the m.2 ssd slot I wanted to add an extra SSD in the HDD area. I tried to add a Crucial MX100 which I had in an old computer but it won't find it. (Both in BIOS as in Windows System storage). I already tried changing configuring the disks from RAID to AHCI but this doesn't work.
Are there any known compatibility issues between Dell and some SSD's manufacturers or are there any other solutions?

Hi everyone!
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7567 gaming laptop, and today I noticed, that my laptop makes very quiet ticking sound when it is plugged in. This is strange, because the sound very similar to a HDD's head movement ticking. The only problem that there's no winchester in this laptop, only SSD-s (1 X M.2 NVMe PCI-E x4, and 1 X SATA3 2,5") working in my laptop. In this series there's no optical drive, so the only mechanical units in this laptop the 2 cooling fans. But strangely the ticking is exactly can be heard, when the fans stop. So when the fans don't spin (0 rpm) the quiet ticking sound can be heard.
The second strange thing, if I unplug the laptop from AC, the ticking slows down. After i plug in it again, the ticking continues faster...
Do somebody sensed the same? The ticking comes from under the keyboard, if I lean forward, I can hear it well. I think, that this ticking might caused by one electical unit, and I worry that my laptop will go wrong, although now there's no other problem, just the sound...

I recently purchased the 3656 desktop with the AMD A10 8700P, Radeon R9 360, 8GB (Single channel?) RAM.  Tried loading GTA V on it. Even at lowest graphics settings this game has major problems keeping up with the game.  Is there anything I can do to this PC to get the game playable? I understand this is most likely a processor issue from what I have read...
Obviously, I am very new to this, sorry if these are very bad questions.
If I upgrade the RAM to 16GB with 2 separate 8GB cards will that 1) help and 2) be dual channel?
The RAM is DDR3L, which I guess runs at lower voltage.
The processor says it is 1.8GZH but maxes out at 3.3 in turbo boost.  I set my PC to high performance and still had same issues on GTA V.  FPS were between 20-40.
Am I SOL with this box? CPU cannot be replaced from what I read too.
I am thinking I got what I paid for, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Kinda got suckered into the "Gaming Computer" advertisement of this machine and the video card was better than the one in the pc at Best Buy for $200 more.
Thanks.

Open the base cover to see what's installed - it could be an M.2 SSD (card drive) in which case the system will take a 2.5" hard drive.
It could equally well be a 2.5" SSD - in which case the additional drive would need to be an M.2 SSD (the system has space for just one 2.5" drive).

Hello,
I have a new dell inspiron 5559 which I bought two weeks ago I had a problem with the fan that was really loud for no reason and after doing that for a few days the laptop started to shut down when gaming due to overheating.
I sent it to the lab due to it being on warranty and they replaced the fan and the heatsink.
After I recived it I wanted to play the game I was playing last mounth - Foootball Manger 17 and it shut down again.
I ran a few tests and discovered that when the AMD GPU is on it's stating temp goes immediately with a straight line from 0C to 50C which is not normal I believe. It also shuts down while I performed A GPU stress test.
All my drivers are the latest so I figure the problem could be with the thermo detector or the thermal paste they applied in the lab.

WHY WAS THE ORIGINAL THREAD DELETED???????
Hi,
So I just got this laptop few days ago.

The basic specs:
7th Generation Intel Core i5-7300HQ Quad Core (6MB Cache, up to 3.5 GHz)
GeForce GTX 1050 4GB GDDR5
8GB 2400MHz DDR4
Windows 10 Home 64-bit English

The problem: It restarts randomly, no blue screen, no error messages. It just goes into the Restarting process, including the screen where it says "Restarting". Basically kicking me out while I was writing documents, editing images, nothing system intensive.

Hi,
So I just got this laptop few days ago.
The problem: It restarts randomly, no blue screen, no error messages. It just goes into the Restarting process, including the screen where it says "Restarting". Basically kicking me out while I was writing documents, editing images, nothing system intensive. I have played the Witcher 3 for hours and it was fine.

A:Dell Inspiron Gaming i5577 Restarts Randomly

It is strange a system would restart like that.  Have you tried booting to something like an Ubuntu install and running it as a Live version.  If it were some component on the system it might happen there also.  If the problem originates in the original configuration, reimaging may put you in the exact same place.
Does the system require you to sign in after these restarts?
Does it happen on battery power as well as plugged in?
It should be leaving some type of footprint in the logs.  Keep track of the exact time it happens along with uptime of the system to see if you can find any standards.  In a situation like this, even the info entries of event viewer may hold some repeating entry or even entries at the time it happens.
You might try running the system in Safe Mode for a while to see if it happens there also.

The first one told me that the hdd and ssd are welded to the motherboard and not replaceable.
The second one told me that the 128 ssd can be upgraded to 256 but the hdd 5400 is the only compatible.
Can you please help me? i like this laptop and i want to buy it but i don't want an hard disk whith a 10 years old technology.

So a few days ago, I turn my less than 3 week old Dell Inspiron 15 7567 Gaming on, and notice that there is now what appears to be fan noise coming from just the right side of the laptop. Prior to this, the fan would only kick on when the laptop hit a certain temperature, but now there is fan noise constantly. I'm worried this is the sign of worse to come. Uninstalling Windows updates, updating the BIOS, and reinstalling windows have done nothing to help. The only other piece of hardware on that side of the laptop is the hard drive.

A:Dell Inspiron 15 7567 Gaming Noise Problem

Please run diagnostic tool to check the Hard Drive on system by following steps below:
1. Power off system. Remove all peripherals except AC adapter.
2. Power on system, quickly start tapping F12 key until you see the Preparing one time boot menu in the top right corner of the screen. In the boot menu, stroll down to Diagnostic and then click on it. After quick tests, click on Hard drive and then Thorough Test Mode. Report back any error code.

I have purchased a dell Inspiron gaming 15 7566 recently. The advertise showing the memory is supplied running at 2400 mhz. However, my machine can only run at 2133 MHz, even though the factory supplied a genuine 2400mhz memory. How can I make the memory run at the speed as advertised?

The description for this computer states that the USB-C thunderbolt port is a ?on cord solution? for data transfer, video transfer, and power. Imagine my surprise when I docked it and got an error message that the port doesn?t accept power and to plug in my power adapter. I am hoping this is a temporary issue that will be fixed with a bios update and not an issue of false advertising and poor utilization of a fantastic technology. Can someone from Dell advise if this will be fixed in a future bios update or if it?s infact a hardware design flaw?

A:Power through USB-c on Dell Inspiron 15 7577 gaming laptop

Hopefully a Dell rep can confirm, but sadly, I think this is going to turn out to be incorrect marketing material and not a hardware bug that will be correctable with a BIOS update. There's no way something like that would still exist as a bug, but if the port isn't wired to allow charging the system, no BIOS update will fix that.Looking at the product page for this system (screenshot immediately below), the text block above the system images mentions "Power Delivery", which typically does mean the ability to charge the system over USB-C (since systems typically don't provide large amounts of power to attached devices via USB Power Delivery), but the description of the USB-C port below the system image doesn't mention accepting power.  Compare that to the image of the XPS 15 (farther below), where Power In is explicitly stated.  This is also found on other systems that can charge over USB-C.

Recently bought a model 7567 and paired it with an external monitor via HDMI. All my drivers are up to date. Ever since pairing the both, every few minutes, the laptop and external monitor both freeze for about a minute, then both screens flicker and return to normal operation.
This only happens when I use HDMI output. If I'm using the laptop alone, it works perfectly. I should note that this only happens when browsing webpages or small tasks, and not when gaming. I have ran full system hardware diagnostics and found no problems.
Any help would be nice, as it is becoming a pain to use. Thanks!

My home desktop is connected to a wireless router through AT&T U-verse and it's broadcasting just fine. I can see the name and everything when I try and connect on my laptop but there is always an error that brings me to a troubleshooting screen. I've made sure the password is correct by going to Start-Run, IPCONFIG and then typing my IP address into the address bar in my browser. I dont know what else I can do, I feel like I've tried everything! Help please.

A:Laptop (Win7 Dell Inspiron 1525) won't connect to desktop (XP Dell) wireless router

Sometimes, you need to replace the router.
Sometimes, you can call your service provider and ask them to take a look on line to see if the subscription needs to be refreshed.
But often, all that is needed (despite the fact that it is a lot of work) is to uninstall your existing system, then reboot, and reinstall everything.
You might also find success by looking at your device manager in Windows to see if you have any grey, red, or yellow flags by any related device. That may show you have a permanent hardware failure if you cannot restore it, then you are off to the store or your provider for a new cable modem or router.

This benchmarks slower than the DDR3 I had in my 2600k system (Perforance Test V7).
I plan to replace with some G.Skill Fortis or Flare X memory, will they work on the Dell Motherboard?
Fortis and Flare X are both 15-15-15-39 at 2400MhHz
Any other tips to optimize this 5675 system?
