Yoga c930 screen resolution

Q: Yoga c930 screen resolution

Hello, I bought a lenovo yoga c930 laptop yesterday with a FHD screen (1920x1080p) and the first thing I noticed is that all images and videos seem to be a bit blurry and not sharp as would for a 1080p screen. I checked that the screen resolution is set to 1080p and I don't know what else to do, even logos on websites and normal small images you would normally pass by seem very annoying and disappointing to look at. I'm not sure how I'll even manage to watch videos on it (1080p videos definitely don't even look close to 1080).I hope there's something you can tell me to help with this as it is very upsetting where my 10 year old Toshiba laptop that has a way worse screen resolution specs but way better image and video quality. Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A funny thing worth noting is that even the Desktop background image that comes with the laptop is blurred. I don't understand how that can be a good start.

From review videos, it looks like it wobble quite a lot. Perhaps those are demo units. How about real consumer units? Is the hindge loose or fairly rigid? Does it wobble if you use it on the bus or subway?

A big part of why I purchased the C930 was for its 4K Dolby Vision screen. However, I can't seem to be able to view any content in HDR. I followed the guidelines set forth from this Microsoft support page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4040263/windows-10-hdr-advanced-color-settings There are no options for HDR in the display settings and dxdiag shows the screen as not supporting HDR. More importantly, nothing I view seems to show up in HDR. I've watched Youtube videos through Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, and videos through the Netflix app, and none of them look like they're in HDR. I have all of the latest updates according to Windows update and Lenovo Vantage. The included Dolby Vision app has 3 settings but they don't seem to make a difference. Is there some way to enable HDR on this laptop? Thanks!

Hi, after purchasing my Lenovo Yoga C930 in November 2018 it worked completely fine until 4 days ago. At some point, I started noticing some slight flickers in the form of very thin lines that would span over the whole screen width. I then updated the Graphics Card drivers which solved the problem for two days, then it came back. Since yesterday, there are now some hug screen flickers (similar to this, but a bit less bad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SIHJYWsFCI ), which are increased if the laptop is on battery mode as opposed to when it is plugged in. I tried to see if there was a difference between the different power modes in battery mode, but it doesn't seem to be the case. All the drivers are up-to-date and I am very dependent on my computer for work, so I would rather not send it in if I can avoid it in any way. Has anyone had this issue with a C930 and managed to get rid of it? System information:Windows 10Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU @1.8GHz 1.00GHz16GB of RAM Thanks in advance for useful feedback!Cheers,Julia

I just got this Lenovo a few weeks ago and it has worked fine until today! The screen was flickering every few seconds, so I followed the steps I saw on the forums to fix it. Nothing worked, so I tried rebooting my computer to see if maybe the drivers needed the computer to be restarted to work. Now, the laptop won?t turn on. The LED shows the machine as being powered on, and the keyboard will light up, but the screen remains completely black. The Lenovo logo doesn?t show up or anything. I?ve tried rebooting with the AC adapted plugged in (even though the battery was fully charged), I?ve tried restarting holding down shift + f8, and holding down the volume up key too. Nothing happens.

Hi, tried out a brand new Yoga C930 with 4K screen the first time yesterday. I came across three issues: 1. When I took it out from a computer bag, I flipped it to tablet mode. Wallpaper showed up but the Windows login prompt did not. I had to flip the LCD to turn the laptop into laptop mode. Then, the login prompt showd up. What is wrong? 2. After I logged on, some area of the screen were not responsible. For example, I touched the Windows icon at the bottom left but nothing happened. Similary, the computer did not respond when I touched the middle of "Type here to search". Is the touch screen defective? 3. I connected the laptop to a projector at school, even I chose mirror mode, nothing happened on the projector. I went to a different room hours later. Again, connected to the projector via Anker's usb-c to HDMI adapter. It did not work but after a while, my laptop screen showed up on the projected screen. Is my new laptop defective?

Hi, I am looking for a laptop with a 4K screen. According to the specs, the X1 Carbon Gen 7 and X1 Yoga Gen 4 will have 51W battery. Does that mean even they will get the latest cpu (which some said there is not much different), they will have shorter battery life than the current Yoga C930 which has 60W battery? https://www.ultrabookreview.com/24380-2019-lenovo-thinkpads/https://www.ultrabookreview.com/24458-lenovo-yoga-c930-review/

I bought my Yoga 910 with 4K resolution, Windows 10 and 16 GB/550 GB configuration in February 2017. I am facing following issues since last few days:  Screen resoltion is faded and appears like old days 800 pixels resolution rather than 4K, eventhough settings are all OK.Screen fonts appears to be fading...Screen acts like a "see through" occasionally...Meaning you can see an open app (like e-mail) and it surfaces on the screen.Contacted Lenovo support and guy was completely clueless. He loaded "Hardware" check utility from Lenovo on my machine and had asked me to run and he will call you back to me in two hours! He never called. In the meantime hardware check did not detect any issues! Any suggestions???

I just bought a Lenovo Yoga 910 4k display and I'm already having issues with the screen resolution in certain applications. The two applications that I have the most problems with is Photoshop and Skype. As you can see, it's difficult to see as it's very zoomed out, especially in Photoshop. I attempted to mess with options in both applications, but it seems to be the laptop's issue and not the programs. The resolution is fine everywhere else. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate!

I bought my ThinkPad X1 Yoga for around $1600 CAD with 2 years on-site warranty. The Yoga C930 is usually around the same price or more expensive, but the yogadays promotion right now made the base model $200 cheaper even with 2 years on-site warranty. Would you guys say that at $200 cheaper, the Yoga C930 is worth it? It has dual fans and a bigger battery, those seem to be the main advantages.

I was using my Yoga 3 with an external monitor over the micro HDMI port almost for a year. Never experienced a problem. Yesterday when I pluged the monitor it didn't recognized it. And the laptop's own screen was suppose to be HD resolution but it became 3200x1800 and it's not allowing you to change it. Tried to update the related drivers but they are already the latest. I'll be glad if someone can advise what to do..

Hi. When I either connect my X1 Yoga after boot to the Onelink+ Dock OR connect before and boot with open Yoga and close it afterwards, it sets the correct screen resolution on my external monitor automatically. When it boots closed and with connected dock, the resolution is so wrong texts on screen are infact indecipherable which makes it very hard and annoying to find the correct setting. Is there a way to fix the screen resolution whenever the dock is connected? I use VGA at the moment to connect the monitor to the dock, but will soon buy a DisplayPort-to-HDMI-cable.

I purchased a Lenovo Yoga c930 last week and it got delivered today. I have been experiencing issues with the sleep and power options. As soon as I click the button to eject the pen, the laptop goes into sleep mode where I have to sign in again. The situation gets worse because sometimes the laptop would shut down randomly when the pen is ejected out or it is inserted back into the laptop. Does anyone have a solution for this issue or anyone faced a similar issue? I have checked the power options and I have set the power and sleep option as never.

My lenovo c930 (not the smaller book model) did not power on last night. When i would press the power button the computer would make a stange noise, kind of sounded when a car will not power on when it has a dead battery. However, when i pluged in the charger it powered on. The battery was not dead as when the laptop powered on the battery was about 30 percent.. i just bought this laptop 17 days ago, this is quite fustrating.. The device seemed to have a couple bugs the first couple days of use but i didnt think much of it when it went away.. i hope lenovo can take care of the issue..

I have a brand-new Yoga C930 2-in-1 with a 1TB SSD and 16 GB RAM, which I'd like to run Ubuntu Linux on. I can't manage to boot from a USB (type A) pen drive yet, though. I managed to enter the BIOS (via this hint) and the "Boot from USB" option is "Enabled". When I exit the BIOS, though, saving the changes, having the USB pen drive plugged-in into the USB-A slot, Windows is booting up just normal. No USB boot happens, no boot menu is shown. Also, the usual pressing of buttons such as F2, F11, F12 or Del doesn't result in anything being shown from the BIOS. How do I boot from a USB drive then? Obviously, when there is a related option in the BIOS, it should be possible, shouldn't it?

Hello everyone! So after going back and forth which laptop i wanted i finally ended up getting a Yoga C930 which feels MUCH better compared to the 730 i had for about a day. The only concern i have for it right now is the fan noise is noticeable. I updated all of the drivers and did all of the windows updates, but it seems the fan is much more audible compared to the 730 i had. (I used the windows app and Driver Easy to do this) It's not entirely annoying but i do notice it. I also notice the laptop tends to get a bit warm. I know its only been a few hours but still its something i've noticed.  This is the exact one i purchased from Best Buy I've also noticed the Dolby Atmos Speaker System app apparently isn't compatible with my device? Also looking if anyone has recommendations on which usb c dongle to use so I can connect extra USB, display, and memory card reader? Some of the ones I?ve found on amazon don?t exclusively list if it works on the yoga c930

I recently purchased the Yoga c930 to mainly draw on the go and do artwork in various apps and programs (mainly Photoshop, SketchBook, and Krita). However, this 2 in 1 is unable to download the wacom feel it driver ( I get a message saying that the wacom driver is not compatiable with the computer/tablet, which is wierd because the pen uses wacom aes technology) and I am having trouble with getting pressure sensitivity to work in almost everything I have tried to draw in. I even tried to change setting within the programs themselves, but the only one that really worked was Photoshop. Krita and Sketchbook still have no pressure sensitivity. There is also a Lenovo Pen Settings control panel for pressure sensitivity, but it does not really seem to make a difference in sensitivity when I change the settings there. Any suggestions as to how to get the pressure sensitivity to function properly on this computer would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to have to return the laptop and get the Yoga 720 13" becuase this computer is really nice otherwise, but I'm starting to think that may be the only option if I want to have a better drawing experience.
