Hi, I have following problem: If I charge my chromebook and have it in sleep mode (e.g. closed lid), it will turn off (crash) after a while. Powerwash hasn't solved the problem.I like to just put the chromebook in sleep all the time.I got it 6 months ago and it started that behavior about one month ago.I would appreciate any help. Thanks, orakeldel

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

hi i have just bought a acer chrome book which hasnt got any warranty left. my chromebook is pretty much brand new the condition is amazing but my chromebook wont charge. now i have researched the problem and it seems like there is a common fault with this model so has there been some kind of recall on these machines as it seems like it is happening to alot of people?thanks mike

A:acer chromebook 13 charging problem

Nope, no recall on them. Remember that when you see a 'lot of people' complaining about something it likely just means that most people don't have anything to complain about and so they stay quiet.  The most common charging problem seems to be a poor connection between the charger and the computer. Check to make sure the center post of the socket on your Chromebook hasn't been pushed in. Verify (if you can) that the charger worked fine on another system. Last step would be to check out the internal connection, it's not unknown on laptops for the charging board to be disconnected from the motherboard. If none of those help you might have a battery issue. You mention it's a new unit, but out of warranty, is there any chance it's been sitting with a discharged battery for a significant period of time? The batteries in these things really don't like being discharged past a threshhold...

A couple of weeks after warranty expires, my Chromebook CB3-111 will not charge while plugged in. After reading many on-line forums, I decided to purchase a new battery.  After installation, the problem still persists: battery light remains orange, and battery % icon shows 1% (even after hours plugged in). Is there a need for a new charging cord?  Is there some voltage regulator on board not allowing batter to charge?

Hi all,My Yoga with Win10 have two issues: 1. When I turn off the laptop and the display goes off, the computer will "turn off" but not fully - cooling fans continue to running. Hold down the button to turn off after 5 seconds shuts down completely. 2. When using the notebook Batteries so when you turn on the power cable laptop freezes ... when I unplug the power cord notebook unfreezes. Either helps you connect and disconnect cables as long as it starts to work with the attached cable, or restart ... Does anyone have any advice? Thanks jam

I've had my c720 for a little over 2 years now and an issue just started recently that whenever the chromebook dies and I put it on the charger it doesn't want to turn back on. It used to be i could let it sit(even though the charging LED wasn't on) for a few minutes, open it back up and it would be charging. Now it's been to where i let it sit for a whole day, no charging LED indicator was on. It wouldn't turn on, but when i looked at it the next day the charging LED was on. Opened it up it was fully charged. It's been progressively getting worse every time it dies. I have taken to not letting it die anymore and haven't had anything else happen with it so far. What could be causing this issue? I haven't ruled out the charger yet because it still charges just the device itself not indicating it's being charged or turning on until fully charged. I know it's out of warranty, but around what price range am I looking in repair costs? I love my chromebook and don't want to have to get another or loose my info ):

Keep in mind the charge symbol is showing saying that it is charging, please help, I need this for school.

Hello there,I have a 14-inch Lenovo Yoga 500, and it seemed to be working perfectly fine until now, since the charging port is literally unusuable. To begin with, the issue was very minor and turning the cable around or moving it would fix the problem. However, as time went on, it became harder for me to plug the charging cable, because the laptop wouldn't respond. After a while, I realised that there was a sweet spot and I managed to cope with that, but the laptop would still cycle between charging and not charging which meant that the laptop was charging at a slower rate. Unfortunately, now it has become impossible for me to use my laptop, because I have to spend a lot of time playing with the cable in order to get my laptop charged, but the problem was that even the SLIGHTEST touch would interrupt the flow and the laptop would shut down. Now I think that there isn't a way that I can adapt to this situation, because it keeps getting worse... I read online and some people said that Lenovo can change the motherboard if the laptop is still in warranty, which unfortunately isn't the case here. So now, I'm quite stuck and unsure of what to do. I really would appreciate any help towards my problem and if you can tell me how much it would cost to change the motherboard, or fix it by an easier or more efficient way. Thanks for any help in advice,Koce.EDIT: I have also tried out different cables, but the result was the same.

Mfg date for this laptop is Oct 2014, Windows 10 OS. About a month back battery power was about 25% when I plugged charger in. the screen became brighter, means it was charging. Suddenly the computer shut down and though charger was connected, the charging light went off. Thereafter the computer did not turn on either with charger or without. Even the charging light did not turn on. Changed the charger as well as cable but neither charging indicator turned on nor computer turned on. It was like battery fully down and charger not connected. Took it to Lenovo service center and they made it alright and told me that they had disconnected the battery and reconnected. The power left in the battery was still 25%. Exactly same thing happened once again yesterday and I disconnected the battery and reconnected and it worked. Since it happened second time, whatever the problem may be, was not solved permanently by above procedure. Can someone help what could be the reason and how to solve it permanently?

Hi my friends, before I say what is the problem and which process I passed last few weeks. My computer model is Yoga 500 14ISK. 3 months ago it started not charging battery and I think that is just self protection for battery and I didn't care for 2 months, because I wasn't using battery anyway. But But when I search internet few weeks ago I realize that is a system problem. Also after decrease to %0 and  when I plug in the electricity, it wouldn't let me open computer at least 10-15 minutes. Then I started to search solutions. These are what I did so far: First, I check battery if it is okey, and because of only 2 years old laptop and I didn't use battery so much it says battery is healthy like new one. Second, I found the lenovo optimizer program and try the calibrate the battery, I started program and wait for 8 hours. At the and it said unsuccessfull and also said battery not detected. Then finally, I think maybe it is because of bios update needed and I was correct. 11 April 2018, Lenovo announced a new BIOS update for this kind of YOGA series laptop, Which is must be good for me, and must solve the problem. Here is the following lenovo support link explain what was the problem and information about BIOS update: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ca/tr/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-500-15isk/download... But the real problem is when I try to update new BIOS vesion the system gave me this error:------Error: not enough batt... Hi, I don't always write on forums cause there is mostly solution to my past problems, but this time the issue I have run into is awkward.Let me start from beginning:It was normal day, I was cleaning my laptop(it gets dirty very fast), after that I did my daily work, watched YouTube and etc. Two days later I had to go to another city by train. Trip was a bit long, so I decided to finish my work. At 15 minutes it worked normally, then touchpad started unexpectedly behave. If I just put my finger on it, cursor started going up and down, like on straight line. The same thing happened when I put my finger on screen. I couldn't fix that and gave up.Next day I started to use my laptop, at first couple of hours it behaved normally, then when I plugged it into socket, it didn't charge (battery precentage remained stable) then it mouse started misbehave(as it was yesterday). I restarted it. Updated BIOS. Nothing changed. Tried to look at process hacker to find smth, but it freezed. Plugged my phone to laptop it started lagging (**bleep**). Thought it was virus rebooted into Ubuntu from USB. Battery still haven't charged, phone still lagging, touchpad fixed a Little bit. Need help.

Hello,I have a Lenovo Yoga 520 for months now and it's very good, but I have a problem. When I am not charging the laptop or playing music on it or connecting aux or USB the active pen works very well, but once I connect any of these the pen misses strokes and behaves in a strange way (as shown below). In the next picture, I have tried to draw one line in three cases and these are the results (I haven't raised my hand in any of these lines).case 1: I haven't connected anything to the laptop, and it's perfect as shown (the first one from the left).case 2: I played music on the speakers of the laptop (the middle one)case 3: I connected the aux of a headphone to the laptop and I haven't even played music (the first one from the right)(And the same as case 2 and 3 happens when I connect the charger or a USB) This problem exists from the first day of having the laptop, please help me solve it because it's very annoying especially when I need to draw something while charging the laptop, I have to wait until it charges so I can disconnect everything and draw peacefully.(It's not a problem with me touching the screen while drawing (i don't), and I think it's not a problem with my Lenovo active pen because it works fine when nothing is connected (It's Lenovo Active Pen 1 btw)).Thanks in advance.

A photo colleague dumped his Chromebook on my lap (gratis) with some [email protected]#$ comments ... I will not comment as to why, and I thought this could replace my clunky W540 for pre made portfolio/slide or video presentations. OK, here is the deal.  The Cloud storage is nice, but I'm off on the road with no WiFi, at a client's house. Last time I tested the Chrome Cloud, the presentation 'stuttered' and the flow was disconcerting, and was a discredit to my abilities. I have mutliple prsentations, and 16gb is not enough, particularly when visiting distinct client with different or multiple  portfolio requirements. Is there any way to change the 16gb standard card to a 64gb (There are now 200gb micro SD cards!): Sandisk 200GB SD - The future. I hate to fiddle with the built in SD port, not counting the potential loss of these tiny cards.  I would like it to be an  internal or at least sealed and protected from accidental 'pop-outs'. As the eMMC is actually built on the SD card protocol, can I open and replace the meager 16gb with a more modern larger storage for of WiFi use. Any hack or hints before I pass this unit off, would be appreciated.  Incredible 'oyster' closure system.  Even the Chrome Pixel has a lid finger catch groove.

I am still fighting with "260 will not wake up from sleep problem" described in my post: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/ThinkPad-Yoga-260-cannot-wake-up-from-s... I tried everything, fresh restore (5 times), boot from linux live, the laptop can't manage correct sleep, hybernation and even a simple shutdown. I can only switch on and off by pressing power button for more than 10 seconds. I tried to update the bios (from the lenovo website or from a bootable ISO) but it does just half of the job, when it tries to restart do finalize the process it goes again in a frozen state and can only restart by pressing power button for long time. Ok my laptop is out of warranty, but this has been clearly caused by a lenovo update, before that the lapotp was performing perfectly. There are several people with thinkpad reporting the same problem, lot of them with my same 260. The last one IDENTICAL problem 4 days ago: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Yoga-260-Does-not-wake-up/m-p/3930549 This is unacceptable, I went to a lenovo assistance and they asked me 750euros to change the motherboard. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LENOVO. I would like to hear an opinion from a Lenovo operator reading this forum, if any.

A few months ago I started having problems with the microphone and video freezing.  Two weeks ago the microphone died while trying to use it with zoom.  doing further analysis the other day shows that it's not working with any product that uses it.  It also doesn't work if I use a bluetooth device with a functioning microphone.   Apparently this is a known issue according to other postings i've seen, but now my warranty is 5 days over it's expiration date. As recommended on the support site, I rebooted, reset to original settings, to no avail.   Is there any workaround I can peform without having to pay an silly amount of money to get this fixed?

Hi all, I bought Yoga 11e Chromebook for a high schooler in my family, and she was happy with it. A couple of weeks ago, in her science class she couldn't access some web resources - I bet they written as "Windows or Mac only" web resources.   Now, I am thinking installing Windows on it, to make her school life easier - Because she is a student she can have a Windows license at no cost from government software centre for students.   The machine is still under warranty and I would like to know: 1. I recently got the 4k version of the yoga chromebook: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/yoga/yoga-c-series/Yoga-Chromebook/p/88YGCC61096 Part number: 81JX0008UX I've noticed that occasionaly with this laptop my pointer will lag insanely and not respond to small inputs for multiple minutes at a time.  At the time it occurs there isn't high CPU load or memory load. It occurs with the touchpad and the mousepad. It occurs when I do and do not have any peripherals attached. Closing the lid, letting the laptop sleep, then waking it back up has helped once so far. I usually just hard reboot as a workaround. I've seen review articles mention freezing as well, which were chalked up to running linux apps, which I did not run when this started, but are running now: https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/02/22/lenovo-yoga-chromebook-c630-4k-review/ I'm running Version 73.0.3683.88 (Official Build) (64-bit), and this has occurred across multiple verison of Chrome OS. It first occured the first time I started using the laptop and signed into my account. I restored from a USB flash drive which appeared to resolve the issues for multiple days whereupon it started happening again. Has anyone else seen this? What's the support option here since I've already wiped the chromebook? Must it be a hardware problem?

Last week, I purchased a refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad 11e Yoga Chromebook.  When I received it, it was sealed in the original packaging with a sticker indicating that it had been refurbished at a Lenovo facility.  When I turned it on, I got stuck at the Enterprise Enrollment screen.  It seems that it was registered to the domain of the original owner and would not let anyone login without credentials for that domain.  The trackpad was also non-responsive, but I figured once I logged in, I could toggle the trackpad settings and get it working. There was a link to contact Google for help with this, so I followed those instructions.  Google said that they could not help me, and that I'd need to contact the original owner to have them de-register the device.  Since I had no connection to the original owner, I contacted the seller who apologized and told me that, since the device had a full warranty, Lenovo should be able to fix the issue. So, I contacted Lenovo for help on Sunday.  The Tech Support Agent that I spoke to first tried to tell me to return the device and get something that ran Windows since Chrome OS and Android are inferior(!).  Anyway, once I assured him that I did indeed want a Chromebook and knew all about Chrome OS, he told me that I could send it in for repair, and that all they'd need to do was wipe the system and re-install the OS with a consumer image instead of the enterprise image that was on the m... It might help to know the make and model of the USB-C device that's at the center of the issue. It sounds as if 1909 has installed the wrong driver, changed the power savings mode of the driver or altered a registry key.  Wouldn't be the first time a Windows update has done  something like that.

Any help at all? I desperately need help.  I found out that some other people who got the same laptop as mine have this problem and some don't.

I just got a new Yoga 11e Chromebook and can't get the two-finger right-click touchpad function to work. The Settings for the touchpad don't seem to apply. Any ideas?  I went to the Lenovo support site to see about updated drivers, but none were shown.

Earlier today, I had shut the lid on my Chromebook (putting it into standby mode) and had put it away. At this point it had full power. About half an hour later, I had opened it up again, but it had shut off, and I coudn't get it to turn on again until I plugged it in to auxilary power. When it revived, it still had full battery, but had forgotten the details of the network until I had signed in. This is similar to another issue, wherein the system will occasionally stop opening and running user-installed applications and block any access to local storage (such as viewing and downloading files), citing lack of permission (which does not apply otherwise), until restarting and logging in again. My device is fully up-to-date on the stable update stream. Why am I having these issues? Are there any ways to fix this permanently (aside from purchasing a different device)?

Hi. I recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 500 laptop, and I'm quite disappointed. When I plug in my charger, 9/10 times it starts to charge, then immediately stop charging, then charge again for a second. This results in never charging. Eventually it charges normally, but it's completely random and sometimes requires 5+ restarts. I need this laptop for school so taking it off for repair is hard for me but I will do it if there is no other way. I got a second charger from a friend and this still occurs, so the problem isn't with the charger. Anyone have any idea for a fix? Thanks

So I'm out of town and I forgot my power cord for my laptop. I am using someone elses HP charger but it only charges when it is in sleep mode or the power is off. The charger that came with my laptop I beleave was a 65 wat charger but I'm not 100% sure. The one I'm borrowing is 45 wat. Is there anyway to get the charger to charge when my computer is in normal use?
