Might be a Java Error..Type Error Object...

Q: Might be a Java Error..Type Error Object...

On my wife's laptop she is trying to upload some photos to Walgreens.com and every time she clicks a picture she gets this error:
Type error: Object #<an HTML object element> has no method 'get root"

I tried to figure it out but with no luck. Any ideas??

Preferred Solution: Might be a Java Error..Type Error Object...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

First of all hi to all .it's my first time posting,cool site!,....My problem is everytime i reboot i get the box saying Error Unable to locate system class java/lang/object how do i solve this? i saw a similar threaD but it wasn't any help it was for windows 98/me. any help would be appreciated.

A:Windows xp Error Java/Lang/Object

It may not mean anything important. Possibly, it is something remaining from an old program that no longer exists.

Have you recently installed an updated version of Sun Java? Are you having any problems with Java in your browser that you are aware of?

In any case, if you could post the contents of your autoexec.bat file, we may be able to eliminate the message.

To do that, you will need to have hidden files visible. So do that in Folder Options if you don't have them visible.

Then, open My Computer, click on the C: drive, and find autoexec.bat. Right-click it and choose "Edit". Copy the contents and paste them here.

Hello good people,

I recently installed a software called "CheVolume" which is very handy as it allows you to split the audio on your computer.

AFAIK, the installation itself was smooth and problem free. But when I open it, it gives me an error message which reads:

Error: Unable to cast object of type
'System.Configuration.Internal.ConfigurationManagerInternal' to type

After some searching, I believe it may be a .NET Framework problem. I already have the latest one installed (I think 4.5, but I'm not sure how to check it) as I downloaded it from the Microsoft website and tried to reinstall, but it tells me that I don't need it.

I'm out of ideas, so I would really appreciate your help.

Thank you for looking.

I am not an expert but I have built several databases over the years. This time I started with a template from ms access 2010 called projects. I had no problem changing it all up the way I wanted until last Friday and now I've been searching for a fix ever since. One form that I built just like all the others is giving me this error: The object does not contain automation object 'ActiveControl' you tried to run a VB procedure to set a property or a method for an object. However, the component doesn't make the property or method available for Automation operations. Check the components documentation for information on the properties or methods it makes available for automation operations.

Other forms with this same code in it work just fine. This one does not and any others that I try to build now do not.

The code is very simple. It's a combobox asking to search for and find a record. Even using the combobox wizard which auto creates this code will not work: After Update embedded macro where condition: ="[ID] = " & Str(Nz(Screen.ActiveControl,0))

The other forms have much larger code but receive the same error message. Things I've tried - debugged, made the location trusted, created new database and recreated just one form/table to be sure there is nothing wrong with my current database, found a list of other ways to write the same code (sort of)="[ID]=" & Str([ID])

I've having a few problems that apparently may be related.

1) Vista Backup stops with Catastrophic error 0x8000FFFF.

2) A search on error 0x8000FFFF says that it may have something to do with Java.

3) Java's site says that I don't have Java installed.

4) Downloading Java ends with a Java error 25099, the zip file wont unzip properly?

5) Explorer closes down frequently and has to re-start.

6) Java is in the "Program files" but not registered in Control Panel un-install programs?

So, what does all this mean and what can I do about it?

How do I find out if I have Java working on my PC? Why wont the Java download unzip?

The only option I can see is to un-install Java from Program Files manually, do a Registry Repair and then start over with trying to install Java again.

I'll do this but I thought that someone may know something else about this that would be important to know.

So, does anyone know anything else about this and what to do?

So I am trying to run a three of different programs for modding a game called Fable The Lost Chapters. Every time I try to run the darn programs I get the following error, followed by a string of code I don't understand that is unique to each program:

"object reference not set to an instance of an object. when i try to run a program"
The strange thing is I've never gotten this error before and these programs were all made by different people, for my OS, and no other people that I know of have encountered this particular error which means the problem is on my end. The people said I needed .net 3.5, which after some googling I learned I do.

So I really want to get this worked out so I can use the programs, and I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

P.S. Please note that I have no experience with programming whatsoever.

This looks like a programming bug with the mods, so I suggest getting the latest patches for the game or contacting the authors of the programs with details of the error message to get it fixed.

So I check the msconfig if some start up software has error but I couldn't find anything.
I unchecked all start up application and reboot it but still have error message.
So I go event viewer then I found the error happened in the same time I start up the windows 7 so this might be the one.
This is info for error I got.

Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Is there any way to fix this error so that pop up error might stop??

I am continually getting the error "Run Time error 1004: Application defined or object defined error," each time a user clicks one of the cells within this excel file. It comes up as apparently a visual basic error. I've search other sites and unfortunately do not know enough about macros or excel formulas to know what to do next, so I thought I would post about it here. One user apparently has no trouble opening it while every other user has the same issue. Here is the debug code:

Private Sub Worksheet_Deactivate()

End Sub

Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Excel.Range)
Cells.Interior.ColorIndex = -4142
Target.EntireRow.Interior.ColorIndex = 8
Target.EntireColumn.Interior.ColorIndex = 8
End Sub

The "Cells.Interior.ColorIndex = -4142" portion is highlighted in yellow, so I assume that's where the error is. From there, I'm not sure what to do to change it. Please let me know as soon as possible what direction I should take.

A:run time error 1004 application defined or object defined error

To be honest...I would assume that the file is corrupt and try to replace it. All seemingly meaningful links on this error involve VBA coding and things that can go wrong with it...way overhead my head and out of my interest arena .

If it truly is a coding error (as seems implied), I would take it to the originator of that file, since it throws an error.

Very strange that e pluribus unum...manages to use it without problems .

Does this happen on more than one website? It could be a problem with that website and not the browser. That said, you really should upgrade to IE8. The cosmetics and basic use are much the same as IE7. The biggest difference is the lack of in-line autocomplete. I found that to be a pain at first, but I got used to it. IE7 is no longer supported by MS as far as security updates and such. So, upgrading would be a wise choice. You can get it here:

The following addresses the webpage object error issue, it is from Microsoft Community.Use the Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode To do this, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If this resolves the issue, follow these steps to isolate the browser add-on that is causing the issue: 1. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options. 2. Click the Programs tab, and then click Manage add-ons. 3. Click an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable. 4. Repeat step 3 until you identify the add-on that is causing the issue.

Alrighty. See, when I go to Aethereality.net, and I go to view their gallery, a BUNCH of their images are broken links. I tagged at the board, and saw that others were experiencing this as well. They were all told to update cookies, and I didn't quite know how to do that. So, I tried to update java, for her images work through java. And well, that didn't quite work out so well.

You see, my laptop was telling me of how there was a java update, so I clicked on it, and when I told it to install, it didn't. I found that rather odd, and I simply don't know why it's doing that. Also, when I downloaded LimeWire, THAT wouldn't work because my Java isn't updated. When I click on the java icon, nothing happens. I deleted LimeWire because that refused to open now, as well.

A friend of mine told me to delete java, then reinstall that. However, that attempt failed miserably. I tried to reinstall it, but it didn't work.

Now onto opening 'My Music'. It's not just with 'My Music', but with 'My Documents', 'My Computer', etc etc. When the 'report error' message comes up, I click 'Debug', and it opens again. I mean, that's the easy way out, but I want it stopped for good.

I've run Norton AntiVirus, and Ad-Aware. I'm clean, as far as they say.

Can anyone help me?

I am getting this error flash up 'Object Required' (see attachment) whenever I open ANY document in word - can anybody help me get rid of it??

A:Object required error

You can try searching your computer for the file Normal.dot which is the template that Word uses for all documents. It not uncommon for this file to become corrupted and cause problems. After finding this file in your computer, delete it or rename it to something else like Normal.Old and then retry opening word. Word should automatically recreate the Normal.dot template for you.

NOTE: Normal.dot may be hidden so you may have to go into your Window Explorer options and change them to show hidden files and folders before doing your search. You may also find multiple instances of the file so make sure to delete or rename all of them.

Symantec support claim it is a Windows problem. The computer owner tells me Agrimaster and NIS were both working side by side until their computer was infected with a virus/Trojan. They used NIS to try to fix the infection before bringing the computer to me.I removed the hard drive and scanned it with AVG running from a clean computer. AVG found one infection which it called Trojan Horse Java/Downloader.P and issued warnings on 4 corrupted executable files. I let AVG fix these problems before returning the drive to its original box.I then installed and ran Spybot S&D, and it found remnants of the following Trojans: Refpron, Win32.Agent.atta, Win32.Delf.rtk, Win32.Seneka.rtk. I say remnants because Spybot was able to remove them easily with Windows running in full mode.Agrimaster still would not start, so I uninstalled NIS completely and I used the Norton Removal Tool to ensure the job was done properly. Anyone know how to fix this error I get this when trying to install programs such as Skype.

A:Object Already Exist Error

First of all - welcome to BC !
It can happen if the program has been installed and uninstalled before. Fragments can be left which fool the computer into saying it is already installed. You could try installing and running the Revo uninstaller, a free download. You can get it here -
It is very effective at removing traces of old programs. You may also find that once you have fully uninstalled a program that the structure - the various folders - is still there even if empty and everything is saying it has been uninstalled. If this happens, you can safely use Windows Explorer and just delete these folders, then try the re-install.

Hello! I am having some computer problems. I think my son accidently downloaded an add-on that is not safe. Any time I open internet explorer, and "object error" box pops up and I can't go to a different webpage or even click on anything on that webpage. I am having to disable all add-ons to even be on here now. At the same time that all of this started, I will get a pop up box from PC Cleaner Pro stating that there are a lot of harmful things on my computer. After doing some research, I found PC Cleaner Pro is the malicious adware. I ran Malwarebytes trying to get rid of it and I could only run a quick scan, when I try to do a full scan, PC Cleaner Pro stops it and it wasn't removed by the quick scan. Then I looked up how to remove manually and am having problems with that. The websites that give me instructions do not list the proper registry edit keys. Please help!!! What information do you need from me?
Thank you very much,
Tiffany Weiss

A:PC Cleaner Pro/Object Error

Uninstall PC cleaner pro using Revo uninstaller
OBJECT error
 If you have Privacy guard or unfriend checker uninstall them.Disabling the addon will not stop the pop up.You need to completely uninstall it.They are the main cause of object errors.

I am currently working on an access program that will take info from several different places (html reports, spreadsheets, other databases). I am currently trying to get access to import an excel spreadsheet using vba. I wrote a vba auto macro for excel to grab info off of a report in HTML format. My spreadsheet works great, however, when I try to use access to open the spreadsheet then run the macro and then import, I get an error. "Object variable or with block not set". the block of code that keeps hanging is in my excel spreadsheet macro and is as follows

With Application.Cells
.Find(What:="** END-OF-JOB **", After:=ActiveCell, LookIn:=xlFormulas, LookAt:=xlWhole, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext, MatchCase:=True).Activate
End With

My Access VBA code

Dim appXL as New Excel.Application
Option Compare Database
Option Explicit

Public Sub ImportExcel()
Set appXL = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
appXL.Workbooks.Open "Path to my file"
appXL.Activeworkbook.RunAutoMacros xlAutoOpen
DoCmd.RunMacro "Import Report"
Set appXL = Nothing
End Sub

My code runs fine in excel, but when trying to run through access it just does not want to work. I have tried everything I can think of, any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Oh by the way I am using excel 97 and Access 97

I have started getting the following error message and it is almost impossible to get rid of without shutting down the system;

"The page at http://client133.faster-hosting.com says
Video ActiveX Object Error.1.
Please open new Internet Explorer window.2.
Download codec from
Run and install downloaded codec 4.
Click OK."

I believe that this may be some sort of virus or other unwelcome visitor, especially as I use Firefox browser.

Please can anyone offer any help with this????

Many thanks.

HI. I am brand new here. Not new to computers, but basically computer illiterate. I just don't get it most of the time.

Our son has been playing games and this has happened a few times and just by messing around, turning computer on and off and doing control/alt/delete getting the task menu up I could figure it out but today I'm going on 4 hours and cannot get the computer up.

We have a HP Pavilion computer with windows XP. I am getting this message this morning:

HP AiO Device Object Server Register Class Objects failed: h Res=Ox800706BA The RPC server is unavailable Maximum Retry Attempts Exceeded

Can anyone help me out? We are supposed to leave for vacation tomorrow and I had a lot of e-mails and stuff I had to get to before we left! Thanks in advance.

I keep getting a pop up box "Video Active X Object Error" with an instruction to download the updated program. Since it won't let me delete the pop up box nor close the current open window nor close AOL, I suspect it is phony. To close AOL, I have to use the Ctrl ALT Del keys. I am reluctant to download as instructed. I am using Windows XP. Any suggestions?

problem began about a week ago after an auto windows xp update. Unknown update. I have no iuhist.xml file. At the Win update page, the only item listed is TEC image software update released July 16 2003. I have no TEC software, to my knowledge, on this PC.

Win XP SP0
IE 6 SP0, upgraded this evening to SP1.

ISP is PeoplePC.

I downloaded & installed the latest windows script engine, this evening.

I am unable to determine if the XP firewall is engaged, with peoplePC; properties will not appear, as is often the case with proprietary dialup connectoids.

I have disabled all popup blockers. I have set IE's security settings to "low".

Thanks for your help.

Hello all,

I stupidly accepted a download request for a "Video activex object" when I was trying to watch streaming video of the Olympics opening ceremony. After I clicked it, I realized I had installed a trojan/virus--I believe a ZLOB Trojan Backdoor, but I'm not sure.

Immediately afterwards, my computer began:
- showing installed bogus anti-virus programs (e.g. Antivirus XP 2008), which I unsuccessfully tried to uninstall
- repeatedly "scanning" my computer and trying to get me to pay for one of their full featured anti-virus programs
- my desktop wallpaper changed into a bright blue display that said my computer was infected and that I needed a anti-virus softwarre

After restarting my computer (I had just installed Kaspersky), many programs would not start or open at all and I would hear loud noises from my hard-drive. I updated Kaspersky, ran it and restarted my computer again, and now everything appears to be running okay for the time being.

Here is my HJT log:
