Lenovo Yoga 700 HID compliant touch screen no longer in device manager

Q: Lenovo Yoga 700 HID compliant touch screen no longer in device manager

My Lenovo solution center recently sent out a code saying my INTEL HD graphics were not up to date. After I updated it (to INTEL(R) Graphics 520) my touch screen stopped working. I looked to see if my HID complient touch screen setting was turned off after the update, but I found that it no longer in my HDI tab. How do I get this back?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a yoga 700 and the  HID compliant touch screen driver is completely gone. From what I understand this is something that has been happening to people using Lenovo laptops/tablets in the last year. I'm sure the only fix is to be shown where to actually re-download the driver. I have gone into device manager and have searched though all of the possible drivers I could find manually. I'm really upset that my lenovo is no longer a touch screen, it's why I bought it to begin with. Does Lenovo actually have a driver it can give it's customers? It's been over a year and most people who have had this problem STILL have it. Please help.

The two HID compliant touchscreen devices were not working on my Thinkpad X1 Yoga - investigation showed that they were not connected to the hardware. So, I uninstalled both devices - thinking that Windows would fix this at the next update. No dice. 1) How do I reinstall the HID compliant touchscreen devices?2) How then do I enable them so they are connected to the hardware? Thanks! -Scot

A:HID-compliant touch screen device missing

Hi friendsStep 1. The first, you need to check if your Touchscreen has been disabled or the drivers need to be installedStep 2. In Device Manager, check the Compliant Touch screen settingsStep 3. Type in Device Manager in the search box, press enterStep 4. when it appears as an option then click Device Manager. You might be asked for an admin password or to confirm your choice.Step 5. Now Device manager window will appear.Step 6. Scroll down to HID and expand tree by clicking on arrow head to the left of HID. If there is a red cross next to the entry, right click on it and select the enable option.

I have a Flex 3 1120 that had a catastrophic HD failure.  I upgraded to a 500 GB SSD but chose not to clone the old drive. Instead I opted for fresh install of Windows 10 Home from USB.  I installed as many drivers as needed (copied from the Lenovo partition).  The computer is running fine except there is no HID-compliant touch screen device in Device Manager any  Therefore, the touch screen no longer works. I'm out of warranty and cannot find an appropriate driver to enable this much needed feature again.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

I have a leveno ideacentre and the screen is busted so it thinks it is getting random inputs all over all the time. I use an alternate monitor and just want to use this as a regular pc, not a touch pad
I can manage to get into device manager and 1) disable HID-compliant devices (9) and HID compliant consumer control devices (2) and the touch bubbles go away. However if I reboot the bubbles come back as the system somehow auto fixes itself.
I'm not sure if its a default program installed or what so whatever suggestions or help you guys can offer would be awesome!
Thanks

Got this notebook two days ago and tried to use the tablet mode. I realized that the touch screen wasn't working and went to check the device manager only to find out that the HID compliant touch screen driver is missing. While checking, I noticed that Wacom device driver also could not start as well (Code 10). Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on? I really would like to use the tablet mode of this laptop instead of having to return it due to the touch screen not working.

ISSUEThe 720 touchpad and touchscreen are the worst.  This issue started out of the box before I had even gone on line.  When the touchpad does work, the right click/left click distinction doesn't work and I have to use the screen, when it's working, for the long hold until the right click options appear. When the screen is working, the ability to close a window and touching it just the right way is dubious at best.  I've tried modifying sensitivity, etc, in the control panel, but there is no difference.   When both window and touchpad stop functioning, I plug in an old HP mouse I have, but when I'm mobile, this means running the mouse down my leg if I don't have a surface to place my laptop upon.  And it also means carrying a mouse with me everywhere I go.  My line of work is often standing and walking with clients so  not really possible in my line of work.   RETURN/REPAIR OPTIONS AREN'T OFFERED OR ARE NOT PRACTICALTo back up a bit, I attempted to return this to BestBuy, but was four days beyond the allowable return date.  I contacted Lenovo, but it's all about mailing it in or turning the laptop over and being without anything for a few days.  Hard to find those few days.  I've tried to live it, but it's been an enormous killer of productivity, not to mention incredible frustration and some embarrsassing typos.    PAST YOGA BUILD WAS GREAT - WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE 720?My last Yoga 710 wa... Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. I had no luck trying driver versions 7.3.3.12, 7.3.4.8 and 7.3.4.13. I would really appreciate your help since this issue makes working in the tablet position... Read more

The device manager does not even list a touch-device under human interface devices, and the settings app reports that Pen & Touch is unavailable. I manually installed the intel chipset and display drivers from the support pages, but it has not made any differences. Does anyone have some insight as to why this might be happening?

Hello Dws520Thanks for using the Lenovo forums. Was this the creators update?
If so, have a look on the following post, this should show if your device has been tested with the update yet:
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht503655

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

The touchscreen stopped working suddenly on my Envy TouchSmart Sleekbook 4-1115dx. At first i though it was like a normal failure and that will get fixed by turning the pc off or restarting so I did not pay attention to it until now that I had restart my pc multiple times. Currently running win10. I started to believe it was because of an update a few days ago since it was when the problem started but all drivers and everything is up to date. I have checked for the HID-compliant Touch Screen driver and had to  show hidden divices in order to find it. I cannot enable it and when i check in the properties the following message displays: "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer." I have no idea on how to connect or how it got disconnected. I come from a similar thread but did not solve my problem. I have been researching this for hours and have not found and answer. Help please!

Hi! I just purchased a monitor and was hoping to work on my laptop and an additional monitor. I purchased a usbc to hdmi dongle, and it worked fine until now. I switched to using a usbc to hdmi cord instead and it still does not work so I'm pretty sure its a driver issue. I've checked Windows "Project to a Second Screen" option along with the same setting associated with my Intel Graphics 620 card. My computer can detect the connection to the monitor (from devices in the Control Panel) but when I go to the display/project settings my computer cannot detect another display. I've reinstalled the driver and restarted the computer multiple times. I've never owned a Lenovo device so I was also wondering if it was a weird Lenovo setting by chance haha Any feedback/help would be appreciated! I'm new to the Lenovo forums and would really appreciate it if anyone could help out! Especially since it used to work and no longer works. I can upload screenshots if that would help.

Hi. Touch screen on my device is working from time to time. Mostly not working at all. It stops working after suspend/reboot. I can't understand what makes it work again. Sometimes you suspend/reboot again and it starts working, sometimes its not. The reason of this is I2C HID Device with status "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." which is shown in Device Manager. When it doesn't have yellow warning icon - touch is working. What I tried: Windows Troubleshooter. It reinstalls driver. Doesn't help.Remove driver in Device Manager. Doesn't help. It restores automatically.Disable/Enable device. No luck.Install latest Lenovo updates (including BIOS, V.2JCN36WW) via Lenovo Companion. No luck.Install Windows updates. No luck. BTW, Creators update installed.Suspend/Restart. Helps in very rare cases around 1 of 10.

My touchscreen cracked- but I bought a $200 insurence policy from Staples, which is where I purchase my computer (and I will NEVER do that again and I don't recommend it). The policy covered accidental damages, such as a cracked screen, but after jumping through hoop after hoop to file a claim, Staples called me saying that they won't fix it becuase it's too expensive, even though I bought insurence. They offered a refund for my computer, but I refused because I adore my Yoga.      I'm really hoping someone can point me in the direction of a third party repairer, or even somewhere where I can buy a replacement touchscreen and have someone like Geek Squad install it. Any suggestions?

A:Replacement Touch Screen for Lenovo Yoga

Get the refund for the computer and buy yourself another yoga. I would even request for the old machine back, make a OKR image. Then nuck reformat the hdd and give it back to staples for a full refund. Once done, restore the new yoga with the image you made.

Hi,So, this just started happening on my 3 month old YOGA 500 - The touch screen stops working every couple of hours. Each time it stops i go to the Device Manager, and under Human Interface Devices i can't find either HID-compliant touch screen or USB input device. The problem resolves each time after a hard reset (and the devices appear in the device manager), then reappears after 2-3 hours. The system is: Lenovo Yoga 500 14ISK, Windows 10 1511 build 10586.164Any idea what's going on?Thanks,Vlad.

A:Lenovo yoga 500 - touch screen keeps disappearing ...

Hey there, I have a 2 month old Yoga 500-14ISK and I had the same issue. The temporary wokaround for me was to search in device manager under "USB controllers" and when the touchscreen died there would be a USB device with "Device Descriptor Failed" next to it in the USB section. Disabling that device and then re-enabling it would make the touchscreen work again. To completely fix the issue, I had to use a factory reset with the Novo button (pinhole next to the power button) and since then despite wiping the OS of my settings and apps, now I've updated all drivers and such again and I've had no further problems with the touchscreen.

For the most part, the touch screen works amazing. However, it is way too sensative, and sometimes when I don't pull my finger off fast enough it will click twice. Another problem is on the edges of the screen, if I put my finger there and hold it, sometimes it will register tons of clicks right where I put my finger (sometimes closing more windows then I meant to close). This doesn't seem to be a hardware problem. Is there any way to turn up the minimum time between taps?

Hello,

I am new to Windows 8 and have recently purchased an Asus N550JK. The touch screen worked for the first day and then stopped. After that, I even reset the laptop to original out of box condition and it didn't work.

A few days later, after trying everything I could find, it actually worked for another day, but just 1 day. It has again stopped working and the touch keyboard isn't starting with Windows any longer, and I can't find any clues of touch in the device manager.

In system, it says "no pen or touch input is available for this display."

After searching and reading this board, I can't find anything more to try. I'm stuck and need some help.

By the way, I spoke with Asus and they offered no troubleshooting but immediately said I'd have to RMA this new laptop to the tune of anywhere between $130-$300. That's messed up and not going to happen

The laptop:

Hello, This is my first time posting, so please bear with me. A few days ago, the touch screen completely stopped working. I am also unable to rotate the screen. Navigating to the Device Manager, I see three I2C HID Device drivers, but one of them has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it. When I click on it, I see the error: "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." Disabling it does nothing, neither does uninstalling it - when they are reenabled or reinstalled, the error persists. There are no drivers that can be updated, and there is no way to roll back to a previous driver as I never updated these due to there being no problems. I assume this is a hardware issue, but I am not sure how to verify this or if there is anything else that can be done.  I have had quite a few problems with this machine, sending it out twice for the same problem and having the same problem occur for the third time (the power button does not work), but I am hoping this is something that is fixable.  Thanks!

My Yoga 900 of course has that same loud BING! when you adjust the volume using the slider, which I will admit is annoying.  But then I checked and my Dell desktop does as well when adjusting the volume slider using the mouse. In both cases you get the heading "Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)" when you bring up the volume slider, so it would seem to be a feature of the Realtek Audio driver.  So the question is, can you find an alternate audio driver, one without the BING!?

Hello Community,I have a relatively new (3 weeks) Yoga 920. I frequently read PDFs and like to switch to tablet portrait mode. I am not quite sure when the following issue happened, but sometime in the last week or so the machine quit the automatic process when you physically put the machine in tablet mode. I had some digging around and found the ymc service was not running, I tried to start it, but I got this message. I made sure all "auto rotate" locks were off. I restarted the machine, to no avail, the service was still stopped. I repeated this process an extra time or two, no dice. I then reinstalled the ymc driver, no change. From here I decided a bios update may not hurt (currently on ver. 5NCN36WW), that didn't help. I tried restarting the machine while in tablet mode (manually toggled from the notifications area) this didn't work either. Additional symptoms: When manually put into tablet mode (via the toggle in the notifications area) then taken out of this mode, the mouse pointer will disapper and the trackpad appears not to be working. Putting the computer to sleep then waking it seems to fix this issue. This does not occur when using a wireless mouse. Has anyone found a fix for the screen/computer not translating into tablet mode when the machine is physically put into a tablet configuration? I believe the ymc service refusing to run, even after manually telling it to is the issue, but I have no idea on how to fix it. Thanks in advance,-Skyehawk

Hey there, Just had an cracked screen on my Yoga 2 Pro and paid for a replacement. As the screen was cracked, I had to disable the HID-compliant touch screen in my device manager because otherwise I couldn't use the Yoga 2 Pro at all - because of the crack it was like touches like everywhere on the screen at the same time, but I was able to disable it in "device manager". Yesterday, my screen has been changed and everything works fine - except the "touch function"! If I rotate my Yoga 2 Pro nothing happens, too. If I open the device manager, my HID-compliant touch screen is not visibile. If I press "show hidden devices" and select the HID-compliant touch screen (it is shown then), it is listed as "not connectet" - error code 45. But the screen itself is working. If I search for drivers, it says everything is fine. But the HID-compliant touch screen is not connected...?! How in the world I can tell my Yoga 2 Pro that there is a touch function in my new screen?! So, I am a little confused about what to do with it! How I can start my HID-compliant touch screen again? Thanks for every hint!! And excuse me for my bad English!!
