Looking for a laptop that has a louder volume

Q: Looking for a laptop that has a louder volume

Hi Guy's

As the heading suggests that I would like a laptop that has a louder volume. I sit approx 2 feet away from the speakers upon my laptop and when it is up full I can barely hear it I have thought about carrying external speakers about with me but that would be unethical as it is only for my enjoyment especially when trying to listen to YouTube videos, I am literally straining my hearing, so now I am looking for a laptop for around 400 which I can hear.

Any ideas.

Preferred Solution: Looking for a laptop that has a louder volume

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey guys. I've been on 7 for a few months now and I've noticed a big difference in sound reduction....when I had Vista my volume was ALOT louder. I have some 5.1 70/20w Logitech speakers....is there anyway to bypass the volume limit in 7 or something? I've already messed around with everything in the volume controls....help would be great!

ive just got a speaker from a stereo and connected it to the back of the computer. but the sound isnt very loud. is there any program or anyway i can make it louder?

A:get volume louder

You need an amplifier device. Sound cards are not meant to drive any speakers directly. If you haven't noticed, even the tiniest computer speakers come with their own power cord.

Hi guys,

I have a GTX 460 with a dual monitor setup and I'm using Windows Media Player Classic.

When I drag video from my main monitor to the secondary, the volume level jumps up. I like it louder and would like to set this up to happen on the main monitor as well. Any ideas as to what it could be? The settings in WMP Classic have the same volume/boost levels set so i don't know what would be causing this.

The speakers I have are 5.1 and connected to the back of the computer.

So I've had my laptop for about 3 years now and I started off with windows 7 and I don't know for how long I've had windows 10. So I've had a problem for a while now and it could've came with windows 10 I don't really remember, but the problem is that my sound changes for different applications and games. If i only have 1 game or app open then that will be normal, but if i open google chrome while playing the volume on google chrome will be lower than usual, and it doesnt sound like the sound is very high quality on the things thats not focused.
This is very annoying becuase if i talk to someone on discord and i minimize the discord window their voices will get lowered and i have to change the volume myself to make sure i can hear them. I have an astro a40 headset but I dont know if this has anything to do with it.
I just want the sound to always be the same so i don't have to change something whenever its not the focused thing, and then have to higher it when it is the focused one

Hello, tonight I upgraded to Windows 10 and began encountering a very strange problem with my audio. What happens is when an audio source starts playing sound, the the sound is louder than it should be - the actual volume in Windows does not change, the sound is just louder. It seems to be only the audio from that source that's louder, not any other sounds playing. This has happened when Flash sources like YouTube videos and Twitch streams load, and when I unpause music in foobar2000.

I can resolve it by simply moving the volume slider in Windows anywhere, then it will begin abiding by Windows's volume setting again. Even moving the volume up a notch will end up making it quieter from what it was. I've been uninstalling and reinstalling drivers all night, does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

A:Audio louder than usual until volume is changed

I have the same problem after I downloaded Windows 10. Play media, pause it, wait a bit, resume, volume is way higher than it should but the number is the same. Quickly adjust it back and forth and it fixes it. I updated my sound driver to Realtek and it didn't fix it either.

Hi all

A:Any way to make laptop speakers louder?

Anyway to make LAPTOP speakers louder?

That's pretty common for laptops. But as long as you checked all the "volume" locations, that's about it as far as I know.

From the speaker icon in the system tray. To control panel audio section, make sure the pan is in the middle, that the speakers are set to stereo speakers, and the main volume slider is all the way. All this can be done from in there. But there is more then one location for volume. Also use the laptop's function keys to up the volume, as this can sometimes be sepparate from Windows control. And lastly the volume of the DVD playing software itself, may also be sepparate.

But as far as I know, there is no such thing as a software amp.

Hi, One thing can help is the following.  Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.  Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.  Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'.  Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows and see if this has helped at all. Regards, DP-K

I'm not sure if this happened with 5.55, but with 5.56, when I hit the volume up or down on my keyboard to turn the sound down for everything, it turns down winamp's volume bar too. what the hell? Every time I clean the dust the damn thing gets louder. How do I get to the fan bearings so I can kill out the dust?

A:GPU fan got even louder ._.

Canned Air my friend.

Newegg.com - Memorex - Air Duster 2 Pack (Unscented)

While you're in their you may as well improve your airflow as well.

1. Use rounded cables instead of flat.
2. Make sure to tuck cables away neatly to give better airflow.
3. Be sure to have enough fans so that you have equal air coming in and going out.
4. Make sure that your airflow leaving the case is nearest to the hottest components. This will ensure that the hottest air leaves first and doesn't sit in the case.
5. Buy a CPU Cooler such as this: Corsair H50 or this Zalman 9500

Oh yeah, your GPU's fan is probably failing and I don't recommend taking it apart. You could replace the fans I guess, but I'd recommend buying a new GPU.

sound has been quite a problem in my new system.
I'll go a little in detail please bear with me.
I got a new system with ac97 onboard sound the sound was pathetic , the bigger problem was that gta3 would not play on my system and only when I disabled sound in the bios did I get the game to startup but no sound , then I went through a lot of forums and finally got a beta driver from some technician at avance and then only did I get sound in gta3.
Sound plays a major role in my computer since I got a tv tuner card as well as a usb fm radio on which I can record songs .
I too agree that anything onboard ie. sound or video is not going to function well.
I got myself a creative vibra 128 . rear connectors are

1. Speaker out
2. Mic
3. Line in

My connections are as follows
1. Speaker out I have connected , my speakers (2 desktop) and my headphone.(through a splitter)
2.In the mic socket I have connected my tv tuner in
3. in the line in socket my usb fm radio

Actually my radio as well as the tv tuner need a line in , but how do I keep removing and changing cables at the rear so I did the above setting .( I tried a splitter but the output was very low)
My questions are:

1. Are my connections ok?

2. Can i make any further changes to the above connections for improved performance?

3. the songs that I record on my usb fm radio are far more clearer and louder than the actual songs being played. Could somebody explain ? ( the actual songs are far more clearer than the radio o... Read more

A:Sound louder ??

well, this is my first "help" related post, so bear with me if I get out of hand

I'd say it's just a case of volume settings in control panel, as there are seperate settings for play and record ( you didn't state if you have already tried this)
volume panel, properties (a box opens with playback & record)
so just have a quick check to make sure you don't have the record settings too high
also, afaik there is a mike gain setting there too, click options/ advanced controls, then microphone/advanced, this will boost the incomming sound ( they usually expect a mike to be used, not a direct plug to a device) so you may want to un-tick this.

well, I hope I have helped

Hello my cooling fan is getting slightly louder, it's really very minimal but it use to be dead silent. i was just wondering what are the best ways to maintain fans, i heard it depends on the fan?

also while im here ive noticed that my graphics card is kind of limping down on the far right corner and i believe it has actually morphed the shape of it, it still works fine but should i be worried about this? I here it's a common problem with big graphics cards but nobody seems to have a solution.

A:Cooling fan getting louder.

Two typical causes: 1) dirt buildup and/or higher heat causing the fan to run faster to maintain temps (most current fans are thermal controlled). 2) shaft/bearings are wearing from age

As for the "limping down", I assume you mean the cards orientation with the motherboard? With the PC powered off, ensure the card is still fully/properly inserted into the motherboard slot and that the retention screw is snug.

the cooling fan is always on and runs very hard. I am wondering if anyone can explain what the fan is trying to do and why it runs so hard these days. There was a time when the fan was much quieter. The computer seems to be working just about as good as it did when I re-installed things and many virus scans have turned up no malicious problems. When I re-installed windows, I cleaned out the inside of the tower so I don't believe the fan is trying to make up for accumulated dirt in the tower. I'd like to understand what is going on with the fan and, if it's a problem, fix it soon.

I also tried to use TMPGEnc thinking that if i make it a mpeg it may help but I get an error "Illegal floating decimal point calculation order.". Then I thought I could extract the audio so I used RiverPast Audio Convertor and that came up with an error aswell.

For what seems like a few months now, I've noticed my laptop's fan seems to be a lot louder (and thus faster?) than normal.

You know how a fan seems to have "stages" in which it spins faster and louder depending on what it's doing? E.g. at computer bootup or when loading a CD, it will be fast and loud for a while. Every now and then if your computer's doing more than normal, the fan might spin more to compensate for it.

But I've been having a problem in recent times where the fan spins faster and louder than normal when doing basic tasks. Currently, I only have Firefox and BitLord open. Other times, I might only have Firefox on its own open. And instead of being its normal quiet self, the fan is louder than it should be.

I've also been having a few cases where my CPU usage will be at 100% when I only have Firefox open, and noticed that Firefox's memory in the processes tab of the task manager was way above 200,000 K. At that time, my fan was spinning like crazy and the laptop was heating up really bad underneath.

I've included a Speed Fan test below, if that is any help.

If you need any more info, please let me know. Many thanks.

Is there any way I can make an MP3 file louder? I tried MP3Gain (which I actually use frequently for leveling audio files) and it capped at 105.9dB, which isn't loud enough and the quality starts to degrade. I tried messing around a lot in Audacity, trying normalize and amplify, but they seemed to do nothing (I could use amplify to make it quieter if I wanted to). The only thing that kind of worked was increasing the Gain in the Bass/Treble effect, which made it sound completely terrible. I'm doing this for an outdated device (iPAQ 210 with Windows Mobile 6) so I doubt I can do anything to the device to make it louder. Help?

Got a Toshiba Qosmio x505 q890 running Windows 7 64bit. Anyway, got a set of Audioengine A2 speakers yesterday and was really stoked and primed for the demo but alas, the balance/output is rather uneven. Huh!! Specifically, the right channel has more dB than the left. It's a tad more bright, crisp or louder, if you will compared to the left which sounds rather muffled and weaker in comparison. Tried the auto sound driver updates and nothing. Of course the balance is set straight through the uprights. The problem is with older analog recordings (Alice Cooper, Doors, Zeppelin) you can certainly notice a drop off in quality in the quieter or weaker channel. No guitar solo, vocals, additional effects etc. Laptops generally don't have sound cards, correct? What, if anything can be done in regards to software, drivers or hardware? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. "Rock on!......Anybody!!!"--Ringo Starr

A:One channel louder than the other yet balance is 50/50

OK, I did a little messing around last night and I've discovered the source of my problem but not the solution. Here it is. My Toshiba has Conexant Pebble High Definition SmartAudio for its sound driver. The problem is not so much with the driver itself but the preinstalled EQ program that goes along with it: SmartAudio. Everytime I tried to set a custom EQ setting i.e. "turn it on" basically, all the focus of sound came out of the right channel with the left being greatly subdued. The moment I turn the EQ from off to on, in other words, from a flat line state, the dB levels shift immediately to the right channel and the left being noticeably muffled. What gives? Does anyone have any similar experiences with Conexant or their SmartAudio EQ? I don't if its the driver or the EQ program. Can I use something else instead? I don't really wish to uninstill my sound driver. I'm just wondering if the Conexant sound driver and SmartAudio are a tandem that go hand in hand. Can't have one without the other? Yes? No? Do I have to install a new sound driver or can I just get a different software program for EQ adjustments? Any thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks everyone.---Todd

I use the front USB ports for my headset. there are 2 in the front. However there is a big noticeable difference in volume with the left compared to the right. The left one is a good volume and easy to work with, but the right USB port always has lower volume.

My guess is that it's a power problem, but I want to make sure before I do anything.

I would just use the left one, but for some reason, the port is sensitive and disconnects easily.

A:USB Headset louder with one USB port than the other

It would depend on how the hardware is connected, both at the motherboard to the front panel and how the front panel is configured. This is more a general hardware issue than an audio issue, even though its affecting the headset.

There is a sound issue I've noticed recently with my computer. What happens is any time I play a sound, music file, game or anything that makes noise, I notice that the volume of the sound playing goes slightly up, then back down. This happens at one second intervals, exactly.

It's sorta hard to explain. If you need me to explain further, just ask.

System specs:

Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L (built in 7.1 surround)
Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit
4GB Corsair PC2-6400
Intel E8400
HIS HD3870
Caviar 640 GB HDD

To me, since the volume goes up at exactly 1 second intervals, it sounds like something within the OS, but obviously if I knew, I'd have fixed it by now. It's not very noticeable with music or short sounds, but with longer ambient sounds, like videogame ambiance, it's really noticeable and obnoxious. If you need any more info, let me know. Hopefully someone else here knows how to fix this because I can't find any posts about it.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the sounddriver, located in device manager, ty for
