I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I've tried to sign up for the Microsoft Security Notification Service: Comprehensive Edition over months but haven't received a single email. No welcome email either. I've checked in my spam folders too. Clicking Subscribe does not seem to change any of
my Microsoft subscriptions.
[screenshot 1 deleted because account unverified]
Clicking Subscribe turns both buttons grey momentarily and then they return to their previous appearance.
[screenshot 2 deleted because account unverified]
No subscription shown in my Microsoft Account communication permission settings.

Tried with both Firefox and Edge.
How can I get an email subscription to this from Microsoft? Thank you!

The test/preview button does play the selected sound BUTafter clicking Apply, OK, there is no sound when new mail arrives. I have tried many different sounds but nothing works. I have a DELL, Inspiron E-1505 Notebook with Win, XP Media Center 2005, (new 2/06). I have tried many MS links for an answer/fix but no luck. DELL's free automated support system (email/phone support is costly) gave me 5 possible, audio device, answers that had absolutely no relevancy to my problem. I hate DELL's support system. Maybe I had not reached the correct/applicable MS website/links??

Hi guys...Don't know if this is where I need to be to ask this question or not ...if not...somebody just tell me where to go...(but be nice about it....

I have Windows XP...and I was wanting some new "sounds to download or have in that "place" where I go to set my sounds. for when I receive e/mail....i.e. e/mail notification sounds. Do I or can I go to a site that has "sounds" for download or what...the only choices I have now are those that come with WinXP. Before, when I had WinME I think I had about 3 or 4 "groups" of sounds...and I think they came with the WinME.

Am I making sense?....or do you know without even looking that this is a blonde asking this question?

Would appreciate some input here...either by giving me some sites to check out...or by telling me what I need to do...or whatever...

Thanks...appreciate any answers. Y'all have a good evening.

I do not know of a way to have that message begin to warn again, other than reinstalling the mail client. That does not mean that there is not a way to restore the message.

That being said, I doubt if mail was not sent because you did not receive the warning. Send an email to someone other than those that did not receive the earlier mail. If this is not received look in the sent folder to see if sent. If sent the problem is due to other causes.

I use Yahoo mail and I have the exact same problem. I got absolutely no notifications of any kind. I have notifications enabled in the Mail App. Interestingly, under Settings -> System -> Notifications & actions, there is a section called "Show notifications from these apps". For me, the Mail App does not show up on the list of Apps despite the fact that they are enabled within the app itself. Is Mail there for you under that setting?

My Outlook has quit doing this. Normally if you leave it open and have it check for e-mail every 5 minutes or so once you get an e-mail it makes a little sound and pops up a little envelope looking thing in your taskbar until you read the mail. Well for some reason mine has quit doing that, it still makes noise, but lots of times I'm not around my computer. So if I have new mail I dont' know it unless I physically check it. I'd rather it let me know than me having to find out myself. If I wanted to find out myself I'd log in to minermail.umr.edu . I did sift through the options and did check somethign to the effect of "notify me when new mail arrives" but that just puts another popup on my screen. I just want it back the way it was. Its most likely in the registry somewhere since I've sifted through the options and not found anything.

Anyone know any software that runs with Outlook 2003/2007 that will alert the user visually or with audio?

Some people miss that new e-mail notification window (thrown right in the center of the screen) in the days of Outlook 2000.

Or anyone know if Microsoft is planning on addressing this issue?

A:New E-mail Notification Software

Outlook 2003 (not sure about 2007)

Under "Tools" - "Options" - "Preferences (Tab)" - "Email, Email Options" - then "Advanced Email Options" -

you should see items you can check for "When new items arrive in my inbox"

- Play a Sound
- briefly change the mouse cursor
- Show an envelope in the notification area
- Display a new mail desktop alert
In Control Panel - Sounds and audio devices, you can even change that sound that you get for New Mail.

Hay STF family, got a question, maybe you can help me out a bit:
I was looking at something silly, I always thought it was cool when you hear the computer verbly notify you that "you've got mail", well found out that there is a way to do that. I tryed it but I must be doing something wrong here. I got this from "teckies.com" it says to;

Setting your computer to play distinctive sound when an email message arrives
Go to control panel (start>>Settings)
Double-click on Sound Icon
Choose a sound under "NAME" or Click BROWSE
Select your sound then Click OK.

I tried to found these steps on XP and they did not show up like the instruction. Is there something different about XP here? [/COLOR]

I think each email client has it's own settings for when you get new mail. You'll probably have to look through the settings to find it. Let us know what you're using and I'm sure someone knows where to find it.

Also, you posted in the wrong section. I'm moving this thread to the Windows XP forum.

I have installed Windows XP and so far it is running great without any problems. (knock on wood). This questions is more an annoyance. When I turn on the computer and the welcome screen appears it shows I have 11 unread email messages. But I know there are no unread email messages in outlook express. How do I get rid of this notification since it is an error?

A:Mail Notification Display on welcome screen

Try this:

Tools | Options | Preferences tab | E-mail Options. Under Display a notification message when new mail arrives, uncheck the box.

It could be a carryover.

If that dosen't help, try going to MSCONFIG via Run. I know on Win2000 you don't have it. Unsure about XP.
If you can, go to the Startup tab, and see if you can find the entry for it. If you can, uncheck it.

Well it seems my Outlook has begun to have new mail notification problems, which appear to have started after I set up a rule for spam based on this thread the problem I'm having now is sometimes when I get new mail thats not spam the envelope in the system tray doesn't appear. So if I'm not at my computer to hear the new mail sound then I don't know if I have new mail unless I maximize outlook and actually look.
This seems like one of those obscure problems caused by something somewhere corrupt, but I have no idea where to begin. Any suggestions?

A:New Mail Notification problems in Outlook XP

Upon reading that massive confusion in WindowsOS (systray annoyance) I have seen others have had this problem too. But like I mentioned, that whole thread just became a mess with people talking about stuff like this problem that should have been in a new thread because it seems to be specific just to the new mail notification in outlook for at least 1 other guy.
All my other systemtray icons are fine, I don't have problems with them going away, only the new mail notification. I suppose I'll try and turn that rule off, but my guess is its not related. I'll post back if that fixes it, if not just assume the problem still exists.

Problem: Outlook 2000 (SP3) ; Exchange 2000 ; XP SP2 (Firewall Disabled). Email sent to mailboxes is not getting delivered. *Note: If you select another folder than the inbox the email gets delivered straight away.Another problem in this same are is that emails sent from Clients are staying in Outbox for apporx 4 -6 mins.

From having a look around I have found some solutions that tell me to enable forcepolling to the exchange server , others telling me to disable the firewall, but none of these are fixing this issue that we have. From what I believe, the exchange server is not sending the correct information via UDP. I have tried to set a manual UDP port (thus disabling Dymanic UDP) but this does not work for me either. I am starting to think that I have either a serious issue with my XP SP2 , Office 2000 SP3 (Outlook 2000 SP3) clients or there is an issue that I am unware of on the Exchange server. I am hoping that with the vast array of knowledge available on this forum, that you can help.
