laptop loads on aptio setup and wont go any further

Q: laptop loads on aptio setup and wont go any further

i have an asus s2ooe, my daughter knocked it off the table and i had to use the trouble shoot recovery. something obviously went wrong. it now loads on aptio setup and goes no futher.. i don't know what to do to try and fix this, or even if there is anything i can do to fix it. i can't really afford to pay to have it checked and then pay for any other repairs that may be needed. so any advice would be much appreciated. thank you.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have an Asus laptop and I got the notification that I can upgrade to Windows 10 if I wanted to. So, I clicked to update it and it did and when I restarted it, my mouse pad would not work. I was able to go into programs and click repair for the mouse and then it worked. I used my laptop for a few minutes and everything was fine and then I closed it and set it aside. Later that day, I opened it and I clicked on Chrome and I got the hour glass. I waited for a few minutes and nothing happened. So, I pressed and held the power button down to turn it off and turned it back on a few seconds later.
When I turned it back on I was at the Aptio Setup Utility screen and no matter what I pushed, I couldn't exit. My battery died and so I plugged it in and turned it back on. This time it said that it was being diagnosed. After a long while, it said they couldn't fix it and gave me the option of restarting it or advanced options. I clicked advanced options and chose to go back to Windows 8.1 hoping that it would return to normal. After that, I assumed it was doing that and I left it to make lunch for my son. When I came back to it and it had been awhile it was just a blue screen and was like that for a long time, so I again shut it down.

I went online and did a search and someone said to enable the launch CSM on the boot section and to disable the secure boot menu and then to restart and I would be able to get to the advanced options/recovery screen. So, I did do that and was ab... Read more

I bought a new laptop (Asus x75a) and when I received it I turned it on and it went into the aptio setup utility so I set the time and date and went over to save and exit only to return to the same screen. I've restored defaults and loading optimised settings but it always returns to it.
I disabled secure boot and enabled csm and this time it loaded the asus screen and went to a black screen saying reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device.
It should be preinstalled with win8 and no where in the user manuals does it detail the setup utility.
I've searched the web for a solution but I'm yet to find one. I've contacted the seller but I thought whilst I wait I would seek help here.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Hello. Please forgive me for this off-topic-post, but i would like to tell everybody, why i really like APTIO Setup Utility, the best BIOS-Settings.

The great advantage is not only the great user interface and the accurate help descriptions (that Ins?deH20 also has), but what i really love is:
The APTIO Setup-Utility does have ?Boot-Override? in the Exit-Tab‼
I don't have to press F12 to override. I can simply go to the BIOS-Settings. And if i am inside of the BIOS-Settings, i can simply override without exiting the settings and press F12. That's Aptio's greatest advantage. My Samsung 700G7A-S02 does also have APTIO.
Aptio Setup Utility Screenshot:

Other Setup Utilities:

Disadvantage: If Windows is hibernated, DualBoot (e.g. Hiren's Boot CD) is not supported, which did already cause a problem. But other BIOS-Firmwares do also not allow DualBoot with hibernation.

Please note, that this is no sneaky advertisement. This is just my opinion. The screenshots are not from my Computer.

my Asus laptop froze and when I restarted it, a screen that said ?Aptio Setup Utility? popped up. I googled it and tried what everyone was recommending:
Select the Boot menu in the Aptio setup utility, select 'Launch CSM' and change to enable

Select the Security menu n the Aptio setup utility, select 'Secure Boot Control' and change to disable

Select Save & Exit and press 'yes'

Hold down the power button until the unit switches power off completely

Switch back on and continually press the F9 button for about ten seconds; this should now allow the unit to boot up into the Windows Recovery menu

Select 'Advanced Start Up' and wait until the recovery menu appears

Select ' Advanced Options'

Select 'System Restore' and select a date prior to when the problem occurred?.

The only problem is that once I switch the computer back on and try to press F9, it does nothing. I get a black screen that says ?Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key? I can get back into the Aptio Utility screen from here but I can?t get into my computer. How can I fix this and get back in???? I don?t know much about computers so I?m totally stuck and I NEED what?s on there for business.

I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong form. I have a ASUS G75VX I was just finished cleaning my fan filter and went to turn my computer back on when the blue and grey Aptio Setup Utility popped up. Hi everybody, I have a small big problem: my laptop asus is blocked on aptio setup utility in the sense that every time I start it it redirects me to this menu. Why it's urgent: it's because I do not have access to my 2 OS window10 / ubuntu that contain important files for my studies that are happening right now. So, it is of paramount importance that I can solve this problem.

Then I tried some stuff for sure. In fact, there is a lot of result on google on this problem, but it's still the same solution: disabled fast boot, enabled launch CSM and do F10 or F9 at startup (I even tested F4, F5, F6, F8) and nothing works. If you do little research you will come across a solution has kind 10 steps of microsoft, bah the one does not work.

Then I tried to boot the Ubuntu installer on my USB key, but I can only test ubuntu without installing or installing it, but I want to access my old data. I then did the same for Window with the Window installer that offers troubleshooting. I tried the restore options but it asks me to select a system at startup but that's exactly what I do not have access to. Then boot diagnostic tool, good jme recalls more of all the options, but roughly there's nothing that works.

Finally I have to type on the console: bootrec / RebuildRbc and it says that it detects no installation windows, suddenly, it is a trick with the hard disk literally.

How I had this problem: I switched off my computer under ubuntu.

Last night I woke up to find that my computer had on its display the aptio setup utility. I had never seen this before and turned off my computer. I restarted it in safe mode and after about 5 min or so my computer went to the blue screen of death for like a second then to the aptio setup utility. Now, before this happened I had been downloading files from utorrent for like 3 days straight as well as watching some on my computer (which is an Asus G55vw), so I'm not sure if this is maybe a virus of some sort? Or didn't know if my computer had been working too hard for the past too days? Either way I have no idea what to do and was wondering if I could get some help! Im on my gf's computer right now and still staring at the aptio setup utility screen.

How to enable hardware virtualization in Aptio Setup Utility?
I am not able to enable it in BIOS.
I want this because while installing Androin 4.4 in Virtualbox it is giving some error.

I have also uploaded Speccy CPU configuration which states that virtulization is supported and few pics of my BIOS.

A:How to enable hardware virtualization in Aptio Setup Utili

Most important question: What is the error? We're not all-knowing here.
It might not be VT-x related at all, Android should be x86 in a VM and expect it to act weird.

Check the Virtualbox forums for specific details.
But a bit more on the VT issue:
I got a pc (here Medion) with Aptio as well. Problem is that I have AMD cpu on this one so the comparison won't help much.
Here the BIOS reports virtualization is on, I think. If your pc is new this year/last year, than VT-x should normally be on by default.

BUT: here Speccy says virtualization is disabled as well! Be careful, it might be a false warning. I can use virtualization in Virtualbox: the tab is enabled and I don't get any errors/warnings. So VT is ON even if Spaccy says it isn't. Check multiple sources to make sure.

Actually a good place to look is the VM log: Vbox.log in the VM folder: I see in my case AMD-V is used so virtualization is enabled.

00:00:03.677075 HM: Using AMD-V implementation 2.0!

In your case for Intel you should search for VT-X because it will report it ON or OFF.
Sorry, I'm not on my Intel machine at the moment but the previous lines should tell you what you need.

Good luck.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5000 series laptop that keeps getting stuck in the Aptio utility loop and BIOS stuff and doesn?t allow me to load Windows 10 successfully. The other day my PC randomly had a blue screen of death and crashed and now it?s preventing me from getting back to my OS ever since. Sometimes upon booting it loads a PCI white screen saying ?Hard drive not installed.?

I ran the ePSA diagnostics to check and scan the system, but it only keeps saying it finished the tests with a yellow caution sign next to my hard drive. Is there anything I can do to get a successful boot? I just don?t want to lose everything I was working on.

Greetings forums!

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to read this post. I've done my best to google, try everything I possibly could imagine and still things aren't going my way - you're my biggest hope!
Background information & my probable earlier mistakes
The computer in question is an ASUS K55D that, used to, run Windows 8.1. Since this OS did not cooperate with our home network I decided it was a good idea to install Windows 7.

Long story short it doesn't boot via USB or DVD so I try to do it from inside W8.1 (under the presumption that it'd install it on the same disk and do the "Windows Old Folder" thing) - works fine until the reboot when it forgets about the installation, then goes into a weird boot loop that finally ended up in continuing to install W7.
I let it finish and, lo and behold, the computer crashes and boots into chkdsk (or some similar utility) claiming there's loads of issues. Que a long time of non-sensical information (did not look like any tool I've ever used before) and a lot of error messages (this is in post, by the way) that lasted for a few hours. So I decide to reboot again.

Suddenly the laptop decides it DOES want to boot into the DVD, since it can't get into W8.1 anymore. I try to install but when I try to select my newly formatted HDD it gives me "cannot install to partition of the GPT format".

So I press "delete" in the hopes of my computer understanding that ... Read more

Ive tried launch csm route, but that gives me the " No bootable driver" error, On startup ive tried esc, f1, f8, f9, f10, f11, f12 none of them work.

I opened my laptop and looked around, safely unclipped the mother board connections and nothing looks out of place i unscrewed the HDD it looks good none of the small slits are moved and the pins are also fine.

I have an Asus laptop, model X551C. My laptop was working fine until recently when i switched it on and it asked for a password in a strange screen. (See screen shot below)
When i entered my normal password it took me to this screen.
If i press any button it just repeats the message and does nothing. When i first noticed the strange password screen it took me here.

To the aptio setup utility screen. I looked online and read that my boot up order may be wrong so I tried to resolve it by going to the boot menu section of aptio this is what I see.

It doesn't appear that my hard drive is listed (I may be wrong) I have tried everthing to get it to start Windows with no luck.

I may have some of the other menus configured wrong not sure.

Does anyone know what may have caused this and how I may fix this frustrating issue ?

Hey guys! I'm new here and have a really serious problem in my friend's computer!
My friend told me that he opened some king of game (.exe file probably) played it for a while then his computer suddenly restarted itself. However, the problem is that since then his computer doesn't seem to load the Windows startup screen and instead it loads the BIOS setup screen directly after turning the computer on. (It doesn't seem to even try to load the Windows Boot.ini file).
It just shows the motherboard splash screen with a message "Loading Setup..." and then enters the BIOS setup in few seconds.

Do you know anything about this problem? Please help!

Thanks in advance!

Please advise! I have Vista Ultimate 64bit. Vista will boot up and load. The screen is populated with icons. However this is all that it will do. The side bar only stays black and loads nothing else. The cursor only shows the thinking circle when I go over the sidebar. It wont boot up the network (no internet access or other network computers) or any program that I attempt to click on. If I happen to get anything to load it's only a blank window and goes no further (except for documents folder). It locks up the window until I hit Ctrl +alt+ Del and get to task manager to cancel. The only thing I have been able to do is to get to my documents folder and view items. I attempted to copy some files to an external hard drive but It wont even do that.
The only program I have been able to access is Microsoft Security Essentials. It wants to run an update but it's stuck (I guess possibly because the network is not working???). I checked out the computer hardware by running a Kubuntu live CD in trial mode and I was able to access internet, etc during this test. In Kubuntu from the live CD - ALL hardware worked as it is supposed to. In fact I was able to view my C drive and all its files and folders. So I know that the system hardware is not an issue. Unless it's a hard drive issue. (By the way I do NOT double boot I only run Vista on the machine with the issue; therefore, It can't be a conflict with another OS.)

I have an old XPS 420 with a few upgraded parts like the ram, graphics card and hard drive. It has been working fine for years with this setup. It runs Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1.

Here is the start of my problem.
I received a new keyboard and the computer was at the windows login screen when I disconnected old keyboard from USB port and inserted new keyboard into the same USB port. The new keyboard didn't function at all. I clicked on restart computer. After restarting the computer BIOS loaded but it stopped during the brief Intel matrix info screen.

I had previously removed my DVD drive from SATA port 1 and normally I could just press F1 at this point and continue to windows login. But instead none of the keys would work. I tried to plug the old keyboard back in and still no response at that same screen. I pressed the power button off and then on again to try once more. No response from the keyboard. I then attempted to go into the F2 BIOS menu and the keyboards properly responded there. Also going to the F12 boot menu worked. But it would never go past that after exiting.

I created a usb bootable device with my windows install disk on it and booted the installation. I tried startup recovery. Nothing. I tried going to the DOS prompt to run chkdsk /r and unmounting the HDD so it can fix errors if any. There were no errors. At this point I decided to sacrifice my data and attempt a new windows install. It would go through the install process, but during the restar... Read more

A:My computer loads the user menue Ibut my desktop wont load its just my wallpaper

Tell us what specifically you are doing and what error message your receiving. You wouldn't "use the internet through task manager" If you have an internet connection, then you would just use your Browser, Internet Explorer, Firefox or whatever.

As soon as I log on, for the first 40 seconds, as the icons are loading the laptop is fine.
A minute in the destop freezes, I can't do anything and the only thing that moves is the mouse.

I've tried safemode and it works fine on safemode.

Last night I turned off my Laptop manually before a windows update could complete itself - could it be a reprecussion of this? If so, how do I go about fixing it?

I've tried system restores to no avail, and I'm not sure as to what to do next!

Please help!

my friend gave me his 4yr old laptop computer(vaio pcg-grv550), he said it works fine except, sometimes it turns off by itself especially when he uses a memory consuming software like photo and video editing program. i tried to format the pc and have a clean installation but soon after it booted from the cd and starts copying the files, the system turns off and after that, even if i try to reboot without the installation cd, the pc turns off right after windows starts. i thought it was just the ram so i bought a new memory but the problem persist. if i let it turned off for an hour or so. it starts working again though for another half an hour or so. what should i do to prevent it from turning off?

A:Solved: laptop turning off just after the os loads. help me, please!

I have an Acer Aspire 5920 with Windows Vista.

I thought I had lost my hdd until i found a link on here with my exact problem.

i followed all the advice given on previos post.
Before, when I ran the Dir C: command nothing came up.
i was finaly able to run chkdsk for the c drive and many files were repaired and recovered.

before i was not able to do anything, now I can log in, but after the desktop loads...everything stops. When I click on icons, nothing happens and the harddrive doesn't even run. Even when i try to go to the start menu, nothing. A couple of times, the screen even dimmed as though i had turned the brightness up to max.

i got back to the command propt and tried to restore with

C:\Windows\system32\rstrui.exe /offline C:/windows
after entering this command i am back to the command prompt

everytime i run chkdsk C: /f indexes are deleted and/or recovered

deleting index entry diagperf.dll in index $I30 of file 3206
deleting index entry Werfault.exe in index $I30 of file 3206.

recovering orphaned file diagperf.dll (39188) into directory file 38206
recovering orphaned file WerFault.exe (55861) into directory file 38206

I have run chkdsk 3 times and these same problems seem to be there.

If i try to use system restore i am told that no restore points have been created on my system's disk.

I thought my problem originaly was my harddrive...but it seem... Read more
