I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

You need to buy backlit keyboard on Ebay or Aliexpress. Also you need small 4-pin 1 mm pitch connector. There is possible to get 5v power from round capacitor near USB.

Hello everyone,I'm new on here and I'm in the process of upgrading my laptop. Ram, ssd etc. I've seen backlit keyboards for sale claiming to be compatible and I am wondering is this a possible upgrade?Any help is welcome.Thanks.

A:Can I replace my non backlit keyboard with a backlit keyboar...

OK here is the Service Manual: Manual The keyboards are not sold by HP as a separate part: only sold with the whole top cover. See p. 20 The Manual does not list any keyboard/top cover as having a backlight. However, the keyboard map on p. 15 shows the f5 action key as activating a backlight on "select models".  From this I gather that there is a place on the motherboard to connect a backlight cable if the keyboard has one. However, extracting the old keyboard from the top cover and replacing it with just the replacement keyboard is not easy and there are no directions in the Manual for that procedure. I would want to see one of these alleged backlit keyboards. Bottom line, it is possible, but I would be leery. Do you have an f5 action key with the backlight symbol on it? Have you tried it to see if maybe your keyboard is backlit? If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

I just got a T470. Excellent computer! I got the Core i7-7600U model with 4gb of memory and a 500gb non-SSD hard disk (T470 20HDCTO1WW, ordered directly from Lenovo). The 2TB SSD and 32GB RAM I got from Crucial work without problem (yes, I ran a memory tester) ? although, yes, it?s a moderate pain to take off the back panel (even if you have a special plastic tool for doing so). It?s a really great laptop; I like how clear and bright the display is as well as how fast it runs. That said, on to my question: I got the model with the non-backlit keyboard. Is is possible to upgrade this model to have a backlit keyboard? Here is the information I have gotten from my research: * The dealers selling T470 backlit keyboards warn that it may not be possible to get the backlight to work if the motherboard does not support it (for example, https://www.amazon.com/ThinkPad-01AX569-SN20L72890-Backlit-Keyboard/dp/B0727S1H14/ where they claim ?Please check whether your laptop can support backlit keyboard or not before placing the order, if can not, the backlit function of our keyboard will not work!? or https://www.amazon.com/CHNASAWE-Replacement-Backlit-Keyboard-Thinkpad/dp/B071KWWW21/ with a similar ?If your original/old keyboard does not have the backlit, this keyboard backlit will not work.? warning) * There is nothing in Lenovo?s T470 service manual at https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/pubs/t470/html_en/index_en.html#Replacing_t... I was wondering whether any of you might know and suggest an online reseller (official or otherwise), where I could get hold of a replacement keyboard. Now, I suppose backlit keyboard versions of newer Yoga laptops will not work I guess, will they? From what I have read Yoga 13 Silver does not have the slot required for backlit, but aside that, will the keyboard function and will it fit (dimension-wise)? If so, what is the voltage and current required? Would soldering a small battery to the backlit cable be a good idea (I accept the fact that I wouldn't be able to regulate it)? Thank you in advance!ck

First of all the support section on Lenovos website must be the most confusing I've ever experienced. I can't find anywhere to send a simple email asking a question. When I enter my product serial at http://support.lenovo.com/ I cant use either email or chat because for some reason those options are not available for my product!I did try to call them, but they don't understand anything. No technical knowledge. So my last option was to register for this forum and hope someone can help me. (Even the forum didn't seem to be updated as there was no section for my model, ideapad 700, only up to 500) Anyway my question is that my backlit keyboard is not working for my Lenovo 700 15ISKYes I fully understand I have to activate it by Fn + Spacebar. But nothing happens. My spacebar has the symbol for backlit keyboard. I was confused at first because I've read that some configurations of Ideapad 700 15ISK does not have backlit keyboard. My Machine Type Model: 80RU001KMX I have tried updating drivers, bios and windows 10. Nothing helped. One thing that are confusing to me is that in many guides/posts for other Lenovo products I've read. "Lenovo settings" should have an icon for the backlit keyboard, so that you whithin that app/program could activate it. My Lenovo settings app does not have this icon. It has lots of options to configure most of the functions for my ideapad 700, but nowhere in this program can I find anything about backlit ... Read more

Hello,

I was just wondering, as the title says, if it's possible to buy a backlit keyboard from Lenovo or any other place for my laptop? If not possible to buy from Lenovo directly, any other suggestions?

I bought a Lenovo Yoga 500-14IBD (14" screen, to confirm) and I am pretty happy with it for the amount it cost, but ideally it would also have a backlit keyboard. But as this isn't a flag ship or even premium device to an extent this feature is not present - even though backlit keyboards in my opinion shouldn't just be exclusively found in premium devices.

I'm not big on customising computers more than just simple things like upgrading the RAM but I would definitely consider installing a backlit keyboard in this laptop if the installation wasn't too difficult and the keyboard itself isn't too expensive.

Thanks,

A:Y500 - Buy a Backlit Keyboard from Lenovo or Anyon...

Unfortunately, each keyboard is usually made for that specific build line. Unless the Yoga 500 14 has a backlit keyboard as an option, you'll be likely unable to find one, unless someone modifies them (which in itself is very difficult due to the thin profile of keyboards nowadays).

A:Lenovo ideapad 300-15IBR backlit keyboard?

Hi tachilla,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking the general specification for IdeaPad 300 (15'') Platform Speci?cations here, backlit keyboard features is not available to similar model types 80Q7 as the motherboard does not offer power connection for the keyboard backlit as shown from the hardware manual FRU keyboard list pages 78-81.

No power connection portSample keyboard with backlit cable

You can follow the keyboard guide here on page 40-41 of the hardware manual to physical check on your motherboard model as it may not likely be compatible with a backlighted keyboard making it not possible to upgrade.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Hi, It is much better and cheaper to buy this option now because backlit keyboard alone won't work, you need a motherboard which have ports for you to connect those lights. Buy this option now may cost you say $50, replace it later may cost you ten times or more and in many cases not-workable. Regards.

If your computer is a "desktop" computer, it should be a "no-brainer".The USB port on your computer would supply power to the keyboard to run the back-lights. But, since you have a notebook, you'll have to find a keyboard that physically matches the size of your current keyboard, and then hope that the notebook's motherboard will supply electrical power to the back-lights.This sounds like a tough task!  From:  http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04472797.pdf >>  Full-sized spill-resistant keyboard; optional back-lit keyboard keeps you productive in low-light settings lists that such an option is available, or maybe, was available when this model was first manufactured. From: http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c04551620-2.pdf Keyboard with backlight and pointing sick for use only on HP EliteBook 850 G2 Notebook PC and HP EliteBook 750 G2 Notebook PC computer models (includes backlight, keyboard, and pointing stick cables):       For use in Canada776475-DB1
