Hi All, So I've had this aesthetically pleasing yoga 3 pro for about a month with the purpose for it to be used as a Uni Laptop. However I've come across a few issues that I am hoping I can get some help with. Firstly, I've lost all ability to use the touchscreen. Windows Device Managers is seeing it, but I have no way to enable/disable or test. Is there something I am missing? Secodly, through basic use I am finding the CPU and RAM usage well in excess of 80% for a lot of the time, with the system coming to a near grinding halt if I have approximately a dozen chrome tabs open, a couple of office docs and youtube or spotify running....this is a little worrying. Specification wise the laptop should be able to run the with very little hassle. Any help will be greatly appreciated.Read other answers
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

Recently the touchscreen on my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro stopped working. It is running Windows 10 and the most recent update it received was KB890830. I am getting an error code 10 for the I2C HID device ("A request for the HID descriptor failed"), but when I try to update it, I get a message saying it is already up to date. Disabling and re-enabling hasn't worked and I cannot find the driver on the lenovo website to do a fresh install. Any suggestions to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.Read other answers

I am using a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro 1370 running Windows 10. The touchscreen never fails to work but the touchpad however causes a lot of problems. It will randomly stop working when I am using it, often when opening my laptop or when right clicking, but often without any apparent cause as well. One temporary method I have found that somtimes fixes the issue is to go into the HIDs in Device Manager and disable/re-enable the 9CE1 I2C HID Device. Sometimes this option will have a yellow triangle indicating that the device will not start and display this message in the driver properties: This device cannot start. (Code 10)A request for the HID descriptor failed. Other times however there is no acknowledgement of driver issues and attempting to enable the devie will cause the device manager to not respond, restarting my PC in recovery mode after a "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" message and wiping my recent files. I have tried everything from uninstalling/reinstalling the driver, updating the BIOS and disabling the driver to boot in safe mode. When updating the driver software through the device manager, it says the latest version is installed: The driver version is 10.0.10586.0, it says it is from 2006-06-21. My laptop suddenly stopped charging. I've checked the adapter, it still provides the USB power to charge my mobile phone. I can also charge my phone from the residual charge in the battery. So the remaining possibilities are that the charger isn't producing 20V power, the wire has gone bad or there's a problem within the laptop. The replacement charger costs a pretty penny and will take time. Is there any way of checking if the wire or the charger block are working or not ? The alternative of taking it to Lenovo sucks, can't work for a while. ThanksRahul
First, is it still under warranty? Many are. If it is, call support. Do you know anyone with another machine where you can borrow an adapter? The Yoga 700 and Yoga 900 use the same sort of plug except they have a max power draw of 65W. The 700 and 900 don't work right on the Y. 3 pro's 40-w adapter, but your machine is OK with the larger one. I looked at the adapter and the power cord and it would be difficult to test the output with a meter, without shorting something out. I have all sorts of tools and meters, and I takeapart and fix machines, so if it were mine, I would open the machine and pick up the input leads from inside and test with a meter. If you are not comfortable doing that kind of thing, don't risk making it worse. DON'T OPEN UP AND WORK ON A MACHINE THAT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.Read other 1 answers
Hi All - my laptop is approximately a year old and in relatively good condition. However, a few days ago a loud mechanical sound began coming from the right side of the laptop which I think must be coming from the fan but I'm really unsure. It sounds sort of like an engine running and is much louder than the typical sounds of the computer, and only goes away when tilting the computer 45 degrees to the left. I bought this Lenovo in November 2015. I have found that it operates really slowly ie. when I open a new tab for internet or open another program, it takes a while falsoor anything to open.Also, it gets really hot around the hinge area so Im not sure if this affects performance.I contacted Lenovo about how hot the Yoga was getting and was told that this slimline model does not have a fan so will get hotter than older style laptops.I chose this model to replace the U330 touch (which worked fine but had a problem with so John Lewis repalced it with this model).Another issue I have with this model is the battery life seems so short. The U330 Touch lasted mcuh longer, so I keep this one contatcly charging (as advised by Lenovo representative).Why does this Lenvo operate so slowly? Ive done a wifi speed check and its around 50mbs.Another complaint is the volume is extremely low at maximum, so you can only wwatch a film with headphones to get any decent sound volume.Can anyone help with these issues or is the laptop just not very good.Many thanks.Read other answers
lenovo yoga 3 pro 1370, 10 months old, upgraded to W10 Sept 2015, installed new drivers for W10, latest BIOS (a6cn58ww), all W10 updates installed.Here is the problem: since a couple of weeks, the system freezes when I move the screen (but only pulling it towards me) when the Broadcom 802.11ac is enabled. If I disable the Broadcom Network adapter in the device manager everything is fine and can move my screen without problems. Once I enable it BOOM ! I have posted this on other forum, and was able to get some relief (for 24h...) by doing the following: 1) I uninstalled the Broadcom driver and also checked the box ?delete the driver software for this device?2) I double clicked on the latest driver (4abe02af) and followed the instructions3) BUT at a certain point during the re-installation it asked me if I wanted to ?uninstall? the driver which I found strange as I had already uninstalled it from the device manager, so I clicked yes and it said ?uninstall complete? or something similar4) Out of curiosity I launched again the installation of new driver, and this time it installed without asking me whether I would uninstall it5) Rebooted the system, the problem disappeared for about 24h, then re-surface and still on. So I am now facing again the old problem. I have tried all of the above for a couple of time but no avail. I have been adivced to restore the system to an earlier point but this means I will have to reinstall ... Read more

One suggestion..... I'm wondering after you straightened out the driver problem if Windows 10 didn't automatically reinstall the problem driver back again. Windows 10 is good for giving driver updates whether you want them or not. Try turning off the auto driver updates, reinstall the new driver and then see if that makes a difference. This article will explain how to stop the auto updates of drivers......

Try the followings steps: ? Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter. ? Click ?Hardware and Sound? ? Select "Hardware and Devices" ? Click next to run the trouble-shooter.
Also, Install all the patches and available updates from Windows updates.

Hi all, I have bought 2 weeks ago an Lenovo Yoga 2 13, and I?m very happy with it. But i have one annoying problem with it.The touchscreen is not working correct. If I start the computer up, the first 5 minutes it works fine, but after that the touchscreen is not responding correct, the pointer is going everywhere and zig zag. You can't use it anymore then. I have made a paint drawing to show the problem, i made a few horizontal lines over the screen. none of the lines are straightI hope that you can help me to resolve the problem, it?s very annoying that I can?t use the touchscreen.

Hi Everyone! I just go my hands on a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12 touchscreen laptop with an included digitizer.I am experiencing a weird thing with the touchsreen. (It is the full HD version with the digitizer and 10 point touch capabilities)Basically the bottom part (like 5cm from the bottom) of the touchscreen is not responsive until I touch the middle or upper part of the screen. Hey there, I recenently got one of the Lenovo Notebooks of the Yogaseries, which exactly it is, is stated in the title. However, since yesterday I never had any problems with it, I really like it, the convertible function etc., but it seems, that my display registeres touches Im not applying, it touches like everywhere over my screen and I dont even have my hands on the computer. When I restart it or install the touchpad driver from the supportsection for my notebook, it is okay for like 10 mins and then it goes all over again. I found an interesting solution for a similar problem, its in this thread: https://support.lenovo.com/de/de/documents/SF15-I0024 I have literally the same issue, problem is, the fix which is downloadable there, seems to only work for panels from LG, I figured out the hardware ID from my IPS panel, but I cant figure out where its factured or where I can get a fix for this issue. My 2-month-old Yoga 3 just died. While running on battery (54%) it just went black. The on/off button does nothing and plugging it in does nothing (no lights, no nothing). I am in Zurich (bought the unit in New York). I suppose I am under warranty. Where do I go for repair or replacement?

Bought a Yoga 3 Pro whilst in San Fransisco in Oct-14. Have had all sorts of problems :-Battery not chargingAdapter USB cable ceases to functionUSB Ports disable for no apparant reason.Regular loss of User Profiles in Window 10 And finally - in 1st week of Feb 16 the computer just stops working. So now no power light - no anything. Has anyone else had simsilar issues. I haven't encountered the USB disabling issue, however, hopefully I can assist with the power issues.
An indicator as to whether the charger is functioning or not is to look for the power button to be illuminated when powered off. The cable provides two busses: one that powers the laptop (20 volts), and the standard USB power (5 volts).
For lack of a better description, does your wall power adapter have some "play" on it when plugged in? Does the laptop charge until you slightly move the power adapter?
The User Profile issue sounds like an issue with the Windows 10 upgrade. I used to have these issues when upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8. The best bet would be to run a refresh. Unfortunately, it will erase your apps, but should retain your user data:

Hello, I'm in a bit of a pickle, in an attempt to reinstall Windows 8.1 after numerous Windows 10 installation fails, I was successful in that aspect.. However, when I tried to reinstall drivers, especially this one Intel Serial I/O Driver for Windows 8.1 64-bit - Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro-1370 It froze and I had to force restart the computer. To my terrible luck, the computer doesn't boot anymore. I tried looking at it through Ubuntu live cd and it reads the disk and shows the partitions but I cannot write to them or even clear them. I inferred that the hard drive was the problem, so I've ordered one but then I'm thinking about it again and maybe it had something to do with that driver flashing something to bios. I don't know where to go from here, none of the recoveries work or anything. Please advise
If you can get into the BIOS, disable Fast Boot and Secure Boot. These would be the only settings in the BIOS withholding boot from a healthy partition.Read other 1 answers

A consistent, loud buzzing sound is coming from the fan of my computer. It's quite loud and can only be alleviated by either turning the computer off or rotating it 90 degrees to the left. Any ideas on how to address this issue? I had this same problem about a month ago but it seemed to resolve itself until starting again a week ago.

I purchased my Yoga 3 1370 from Best Buy in January of 2014. Glitch-y from the start, slow OS (and then I upgraded to Windows 10, even better...), calls back and forth with Lenovo Support and brought to Best Buy numerous times. Then this past September the Yoga stopped turning on completely. Brought into Best Buy again, tested the power cord, USB plug, etc. and determined the motherboard was fried. Called Lenovo as was told because the warranty of ONE YEAR was up, there was nothing they could do and I would have to purchase a new motherboard. End of story. Extremely frustrated. After spending over $1,100 for a supposedly top of the line product and multiple hours getting it fixed over 2 years, I have what is essentially a doorstop. I will never recommend Lenovo to anyone, both for product quality and customer care.Read other answers

My Yoga 3 pro (now out of warranty) worked just fine for 6 months without any issues and now all of a sudden it is started to freeze up. It freezes many times a day randomly. I have updated the BIOS I have verified all drives are up to date. I did a factory reset on the computer three times. I found the following errors under system logs "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local" I went through some KB articles and granted permission to those apps without any luck. Since the laptop is out of warrnty what my options are. This is very annoying I was a big fan of Lenovo products but now it apperas i have to change my mind to go with a better hardware manufacturer. Hi i'm having problems similar to https://support.lenovo.com/nz/en/documents/sf15-i0024 however this is said to be specific to the LG 14" whereas i have a generic 13".sometimes it works fine, other times is ignore touch clickssometimes when i do a touch scroll it zooms as if i had pinchedall the while there are these circles like what you get if you hold your touch on the screen - it seems to be persisting the touch.the mousepad works intermittently, i guess confused by the simultaneous false signals from the touchscreen any help greatly appreciated

Folks,This IS a Lenovo board. I am not writing for the fun of it. I am a customer both personally and I recommend products and services professionally. What is my expectation of receiving a customer touchpoint from someone at Lenovo about this problem I am having with a family member's Lenovo Yoga 3? I want to believe; I want to believe... that Lenovo values the customer experience and is interested in its brand enough to provide some helpful feedback. Seriously, this is a really smarmy problem that only surfaced after having completing a forced Windows 10 upgrade from Windows 8.1. I have purchased a brand new charging adapter and cord; I have uninstalled the ?Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" driver completely and rebooted. I have seen a variety of notes, posts, etc. that indicate a problem; I need a solution and I need it fast (and I'd like it to involve getting this fairly new machine back on track) and not having to buy a replacement either from Lenovo or another manufacturer. I have a Yoga 3 Pro 1370. I am getting "ghost touches" on the touch screen when the lid is closed (I am using an attached monitor and screen). The touch screen should be disabled when the lid is closed. Is there a fix for this? I have searched for other reports of this problem and have found some other posts and links to solutions. However these are all (as far as I can tell) solutions for similar issues on other models and do not apply to my laptop. Hi all, got a problem that is annoying the h*ll out of me.My Yoga 3 Pro recently did some windows 10 updates, and since this happened it now goes to sleep after a short period of time irrespective of the Windows power settings. It does this whether it is on battery or on charge, no settings seem to have any effect.I have tried all the usual solutions/fixes found by searching on the net including resetting the power/sleep modes to default; uninstalling/reinstalling OKO and the Windows updates; updating all the drivers to the latest versions available.None of these have sorted the problem, so if anybody out there has any ideas - please let me know! I've been having problems periodically with ghost touches but only in the bottom right of my screen. Sometimes I can continue to use the touch screen and pad, other times it's just stuck. When I can move the cursor it flickers like it is trying to go back to the corner. There's the grey touch circle so it seems like it's registering a touch. My Yoga 3 was bought 3 months ago at a local retailer. It had been an open box model. A couple of nights ago while using it, my wife got a Blue Screen of some variety. Since then, the machine doesn't work at all. When I push the power button (or the reset button next to it), the KB backlight comes on and power light comes on for about a second and then they both shut off. This cycle is repeated indefinitely until I hold down the power button at which time everything goes off. That is the only response I get from the thing. This machine is only 3 months old but I cannot find any way to get in touch with Lenovo for any kind of support, so I thought I would try here first. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm running the latest version of Windows 10 (Anniversary Update - Build 14393.693) clean installed on a Yoga 2 Pro (20266 / 80AY) BIOS 76CN43WW. The "Lenovo Yoga Mode Control" version 22.214.171.124 (ymc.exe) has consistently crashed every day for the last few months. Crash reports are logged. A friend of mine brought his Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11E touch - by today because after he did a "clean install of windows 10 Pro. his touchscreen is no longer working...I've just spent the last 2 hrs. installing the "lenovo" drivers and software packages...But can't seem to located the HID touchscreen drivers or any documentation to support the touchscreen on the "Lenovo" site...I've also tried all the "lenovo" whiz bang apps the fix this issue...Does anyone have this model: Intel Celeron N2930 (2.16 GHz),8GB RAM,128GB Solid State Drive,11.6in 1366x768 Touchscreen LCD,Intel 802.11agn wireless,4c Li-Ion,Win8.1 Pro 64 - (Lenovo's description of this PC) that has been able to get the touchscreen working post windows 10 install? Or a link to the correct drivers for the touchscreen? Or could Lenovo support maybe point to these packages so I can get this thing working as marketed...

Hi everybody ! I really need your help. I've bought a Lenovo YOGA 300 11-BY with Windows 10.But all the factory stuff (McAffee, Lenovo utilities, and other bull**bleep**...) are too long to clen completely. So I proceed to a Windows 10 total resettlement, with an usb key directely on windows (the bios was telling me "USB boot no supported" ?!).Anyway, with my fresh Windows all the drivers was correct (I have sound, wifi, ethernet, touchpad...) without any setup from me. But I loose the touch screen !!! I try to setup "lenovo utilities" and "mode controle" from lenovo support. I scan the drivers with specialized webssite, but nothing for the screen. And I dont have the Humman Interface Devices in the windows device manager to see if it's activate or not (like on this picture).? So i'm really lost and i need to have the computer OK for the next week-end (this is a gift).Sorry for my bad spelling (I'm french), and I hope this is understandable. I bought a Lenovo Yoga 13 almost a year ago and recently I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and I've been having touchscreen issues ever since. Everytime I restart or wake make computer back up from sleep/hibernation the screen has this white square on the screen, it looks like this: The mouse is stuck here, but I found some weird trick to get the mouse unstuck and make the box go away. I just touch the screen with my finger where the box is and move it back and forth a few times and the mouse becomes unstuck. However, it leaves 2 white circles on the screen that stays there forever. Here is a picture of those circles. This makes windows think I am touching the screen when I'm really not and therefore I can't click things anymore because if I actually touch the screen then it thinks it's a 2-finger touch which turns into a zoom. I've looked around and seen that some Lenovo Twist user has this problem here and he/she seemed to fix it with touchscreen firmware updates. However, I cannot seem to find any such fixes for the Yoga 13 since there is no touchscreen firmware update on the drivers site. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the problem? FYI, I'm not sure if you'll need it but here are my comp specs:
I can't believe that nobody from Lenovo has addressed this yet. It's so maddening, I'm having the EXACT same problem and I (along with several other people) have been posting about it for months, and we haven't heard so much as a word from Lenovo tech support...so frustrating....
