Lenovo ThinkCentre M92 Sound issues

Q: Lenovo ThinkCentre M92 Sound issues

Good morning everyone, I am having issues with sound on the M92 or G1U3306 as stated on the subject. The sound works perfectly fine for everything with the exception of Istation, www.istation.com. I did notice that this is only affecting 2 out of the 20 plus computers we have, so its a bit hard to say its just the model. I have tried updating the drivers to the latest version, and as well verified that it was not just the input device for front and back jacks being wonky. Oddly enough the support agent I worked with, used TeamViewer and was able to hear the application just fine, however when I used speakers it was very, very faint but I could also hear it. Is there any general help anyone can provide me to pinpoint the problem further?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I'm not finding that model number, can you verify?   Running 'sys info' can usually also provide the model number (do not post serial numbers.)   And OS info and Istation version might be helpful.   Thx.

Lenovo Thinkcentre m92p sff (3227) makes Beep sound when powered on since I updated the bios to the version: 9sjw99usa.exe.Also since I replaced the stock lenovo Fans with Noctua fans it makes a second beep (so 2 beep sounds total and there is a fan error in the bios event log), when I connect back the stock fans it makes only 1 beep again. I dont know if the noctua fans would cause the same behaviour on the older bios version since I replaced the fans after the bios update , but I know that with the old bios version there wasnt any beep on startup with the stock fans.I read somewhere that lenovos can give errors in the bios event log with other fans when their rpms are slower then the original fans rpm were, that doesnt explain the single beep on start up with the stock fans though.I wasnt able to find any older bioses for my model to experiment with them on the lenovo support page only the newest bios is offered for download and I wasnt able to find a way to turn of the self test / beep post on start in the bios. I remember that some oem pc systems had key combination for hidden bios settings, does someone know of such a combination to enable hidden settings for my device, or any other way to turn of the annoying beep sounds?I also replaced the stock PSU  with a Be!Quiet! TFX Power 2 300W Gold + 24 to 14 adapter right after I updated the bios. Bould the first beep on start be because of the new PSU? But how would the System know its not the stock PSU? I... Read more

This forum was a tremendous help to me when my laptop had serious problems after 2 years. Long story that I won't repeat.

I now own a Lenovo M53 Thinkcentre Desktop (I couldn't help laughing when I opened the box and saw it's actual size). I'm so used to desktops having a CD drive that it completely slipped by me that the M53 does not have one. I learned from this forum about covers for hard drives to use them externally and bought one for the HD that I removed from my laptop. I also removed the CD drive and was told by Lenovo that the CD drive does not require a cover, I would just connect it via usb.

There is no usb port on this drive, so how would I connect it to my M53 so I can install my software? Thank you. Jane

We have several relatively new, unused Lenovo ThinkCentre MT-M 7373-AMU workstations that were recently donated to our senior center's home computer training center. The workstations have Windows Vista SP1 installed and are working fine under Vista. However, we are using the workstations to teach senior citizens how to operate home computers and need to install XP along with Vista in dualboot mode. Basically, these workstations will not accept Windows XP clean installs even on a dedicated hard drive. Attempts to perform a clean install of XP results in screen announcements that there are "compatibility issues" which probably have to do with the hardware configuration and/or the BIOS. Thanks.

Hi All,  This is my first post on these forums and I have recently in the last couple of months purchased the above computer. I have made a couple of upgrades to it, in the form of an SSD hard drive and using the Crucial memory scanner I have upgraded the ram from 4gb to 16gb.  It now runs extremely fast indeed, but when I turn the computer on, when it posts it beeps twice, two short beeps, then continues to load windows 7 fine and works flawlessley.  I have been trying to diagnose the two short beeps upon startup for a few weeks now and am getting no where fast. I found the following article on these very forums but the suggestions dont seem to have made a difference to my situation.  https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-E-H-K-M-Q-and-ErazerX/Lenovo-H330-2-short-beeps-at-power-up-but-... This issue can be intermittant, I would say it happens 6 to 7 times out of every 10 times the machine is turned on. Initially I wasnt getting any form of error on the screen at all, until I went into the BIOS, cleared the error log and rebooted the machine. Then I got the error as follows - Error 0162 : Setup data integrity check failure Now this error code does not seem to exist on the Lenovo website, I found the following links which were helpful in showing me all sorts of other codes and beep sequences, the first one lists the two short beeps and links to an error code list - https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/migr-46... I just got a recent AMD Polaris card (RX 550) for Lenovo ThinkCentre M91p, and it simply doesn't boot with it. It doesn't even get to the starting splash screen with Lenovo logo. The monitor remains blank. I updated the BIOS to the last release I could find but it still didn't help. Can anything be done with it? It works with Nvidia cards, but I'm running Linux and want to use open drivers, so AMD is a much better option. I replaced the power supply by the way with better one.

All,
I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre M57 6072-AUF running Windows 7 64 bit. I got it for a song at a computer recycle center? It was originally a govt of Quebec system and the BIOS is in French. I want to flash the BIOS to update it and to also convert it to English. I went to the Lenovo site and burned the correct BIOS .iso to a disk. The old BIOS version is ?LENOVO 2RKT38AFR, 2/15/2008? the new version / .iso is ?2rj964a.iso?. However, there is no executable and even though I was able to stumble my way through the French BIOS set up and change the boot sequence to CD/DVD first, it will not boot on start up. The flash from within Windows BIOS version on the Lenovo site is an executable, but only supports a 32 bit OS. Is there a separate flash utility that I can use that will allow me to drive the new BIOS flash from inside Windows 7 64 bit? Basic steps would be good, I could never be accused of being a technical all-star. Thanks

A:BIOS Flash Question Lenovo ThinkCentre M57 6072-AUF

Hi Welcome to Seven Forums .. There is no executable for the 64 Bit OS .. Try tapping F1 or F2 at start up .. That should give you bootable Options ..

Hi,

Yesterday I received my Lenovo ThinkCentre Edge E73 and the first thing I did was update my Windows 7 professional. However, after it had rebooted about 3 times it froze on the 'loading windows' screen.

After a reboot, the startup repair launched and was restoring to a previous state. The pc rebooted and tried to do a CHKDSK but it failed and loaded the welcomescreen but froze with the message that winload.exe was damaged. Knowing about the system recovery partition I booted it at start and selected the option to restore the whole pc to factory state. Unfortunately, this happened.

I tried using a retail windows 7 pro-disc to repair the computer since the recovery partition shortcut (f11) didn't work anymore. However, it didn't even recognize that the old windows was there, untill I looked at the partition manager.

It seems the recovery partition is still intact but I can't boot to it anymore. Will it work if i delete the old windows7_os partition or do I have to do anything else? The bios is setup to start from the harddisk.

Thanks in advance,
Joeri
