CSGO sound problem after win10 update

Q: CSGO sound problem after win10 update

ambient noise (wind and map noises etc.) and quickswitching gun sounds are extremely loud while everything else is quiet, also the click sound of moving my pointer over the menus is super loud as well..sound is overall unbalanced or w.e you might call it...the only difference i noticed is I have a new realtek HD audio manager in my taskbar. It appears that its detecting my headphones as speakers now maybe? but im not sure and I cant seem to find any setting to change that regardless.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have an HP Envy 15 laptop running Win 10, and a few days ago the sound just cut out. I've tried the usual reinstallation of both the IDT HD audio driver and the generic Windows audio driver, as well as finding the latest drivers on the HP website, to no avail. On the occasional restart, I have sound briefly upon boot for about 10 seconds, then it disappears. There seem to be other effects too: volume control in the taskbar seems to be very slow and laggy to respond to mouse clicks, and the control panel sound window also lags. When I test the speakers in the control panel, the volume bars light up as usual, and troubleshooting seems to indicate nothing wrong with my audio, despite there being no sound.

Really frustrated as there seems to be nothing else I can do, anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Hi everyone!

I'm having this stupid problem with Windows' stupid automatic update. I have an external sound card (USB) by Axagon, but Win10 keeps automatically downloading and installing this driver: C-Media Inc. - Audio Device - Tt eSPORTS SHOCK 3D 7.1. Everytime it does so, my card stops working - sound starts coming out from the laptop's own speakers instead of the speakers plugged into the card. To repair this, I have to uninstall the new driver each time it happens (which is about 1-2 times a bloody day); then my card starts working again... until Win 10 messes it up again. It's a really stupid nuisance I'd love to get rid off, only I don't know how.

Any ideas how to prevent Win10 from doing this?

I have tried many times to install the (Version 1607) update on my laptop. The downloading goes normal, but when it's time to install, it gets to 79%, restarts, and shows the "busy" icon ~ for several HOURS (I've let it go for up to 8 hours without anything happening)
Today, I'm using an Ethernet to see if that helps. It's been 2 hours and it doesn't look like anything is going to happen.
I'm trying the Windows Update Assistant right now. It MAY be working. I MAY have solved this. It has finished installing the update, restarted, and is now "Working On Updates".
It's at 1% again after the restart. But, it looks different.
That didn't work, either. It did the same thing on the last restart. I let it run for 3 hours like that. I had to go back to the previous version.

New fresh install of windows 8 updated to 8.1 with all my motherboard drivers etc up to date. Display drivers are the newest Omega drivers from AMD.

I installed steam and decided to install csgo to my ssd/C: drive since it's my most played game. Now I can play the game fine but after a short amount of time the game and display drivers will crash giving me a black screen and sound loop. I let it sit there for a while so I could get a bsod and crash dump to happen.

Since then I also updated my ssd to the latest firmware and reinstalled my AMD drivers and the problem still persists. I have no other games installed at the moment so if you wan't me to check if the crash happens with other games let me know.

Here is my debug info

 - Downloaded Win10 64-bit English-International ISO image from MS on 23 March
 - Installed on Disk1 as Home edition on 24 March
All works fine with dual boot Vista/Win10

 - Win10 Update arrived on 25 March (I think Win10 Cumulative Upate, but can't be sure)
 - Update installed with Shut Down on 25 March
Now fails at dual-boot time:
  PC/Device needs to be repaired
Required device isn't connected or can't be accessed
  Error code:  0xc000000e

Fortunately F9 boots Vista correctly.  I conclude that either the dual-boot is messed up OR it recognises that the Win10 OS is messed up.
I'm a hesitant to go further without expert advice as I'd hate to mess up the Vista possibilty ! ! !

Greetings:
I recently purchased an Aspirt One Cloudbook 11 and it will NOT complete the Windows 10 version 1511, 10586 update.  This system came from the factory with a eMMC of only 16 gigs; I was told that this upgrade requires 3.7 gigs to upgrade.  As such -- it appears that this is an ACER flaw or Microsoft flaw in that I find it a tad frustrating that I bought this thing; but it can't even complete a simple upgrade.

I'm a tech guy, so I've already went through the rounds of dealing with a great tech of Acer, and the only answer was "sorry you're system doesn't have enough space" -- so really at this point, all I want to do is make sure either ACER or Microsoft knows this to avoid others from purchasing this system; and yes having any kind of external storage does NOTHING; from a CLEAN install the system is left with just a hair over 4 gigs out of 16; then the auto updates start and suck the eMMC dry leaving you with about a gig left (and the last update requires 3.7 gigs); you can't transfer any program files anywhere and you're just doomed; again I already had a tech remote into this dog and watchh him/her painfully do everything I already thought of.  The only way I could this thing ever being able to work is if I had the latest Windows 10 as an ISO with all it's patches alredy combined -- anyway, That's all folks!  Anyone who had the same issue, would be interesting to hear if there was a work around.

I just upgraded win7 to win10. For years with win7 I used to put the system image (using that option in control panel/backup) to an external HD. So, from time to time I insert the system restore cd on the drive, boot from it and easy restore the system, make all the updates and make a new system backup. So, if there is any bad stuff on the computer, I always get a fresh start.
After I upgraded to windows 10, I found the system backup option and made the backup on the same external HD plus that restore cd for windows 10. Now I wanted to test the restore option. I booted from the restore cd (made for windows 10), the external HD is connected to the usb, the restore options is a little hidden, but I found it. I chose the option but the program cannot find the file named WindowsImageBackup on the external HD. It gives me 3 options: from DVD, from network or from external HD. I chose the external HD (there is where the backup is) and it asks me to install a driver. I not know what driver it is talking about. I checked all files on the external HD and not found any driver that satisfied the restore software. External HD is WD "my passport ultra metal edition 2 TB". Any idea what to do?
Ah title above is supposed to be "Problem to restore system backup in windows 10", but I am unable to edit the title to correct it

So I have this processor amd phenom 9100e quad core 1.8 ghz processor which I use to play csgo. When I started playing first time I noticed that I have pretty low fps (50-70) in game and I did some research and found out that some amd phenom processors suffer from this thing called tlb bug. So I went to my bios setting and disabled tlb fix and got much more fps in cs go now (80 -120). However after doing that my csgo feels like slow and sluggish like I had huge input lag. This makes the game unplayable even tho I have more fps. With Tlb fix enabled there is no input lag and it feel right but the fps is horrible. Eithet way the game is unplayable so I have no idea what to do

So I'm having a very weird problem. I've never faced it before. I don't even know how to explain it. Anyway, I will try.

If you zoom in and look closely, you will see there is a burn in of my desktop. You can see the desktop apps icons like the current screen is very transparent.

I noticed it first here on my game main menu.

So basically I have shadows of the previous screens / apps used as I move on to a new app/ screen. I am unable to figure out how / why it happens. Also, my FPS is dropping like crazy. I mean it's like every 10-15 sec the mouse and screen will freeze for a sec and go back to normal.

I've no idea how else to explain.

Please help.

Hello, a while back our internet started to behave weirdly and we had had a technician check it out but the problem returned some time later and the technician kinda fixed it and replaced our old router with a new one, supposedly. I started playing CS GO again after a long break but I did not have these kinds of problems before with the old router. So basically what happens is, whenever I play, my ping spikes up to 100+ or sometimes even is just 100+ all the time. And after some time of gameplay I get the red writing on the top right corner that warns me that there has been a connection problem. After this disconnect, I cannot rejoin the competitive game. I could do it once by restarting my router, but that is not an option anymore as it restarts the television and wifi for other users in my family. I do not want to come off as a rude person but Steam just gave me like 50 solutions and expected me to check out everything, but I just wanted 1 possible solution at a time, since I described my problem clearly and there shouldn't be that much more similar problems. By the way, the problem seems to be only when I am playing CS GO, whenever I am playing World of Warcraft for example I am not getting disconnected. I highly suspect that my internet provider or my router is causing this. Please help me, my friends are playing and getting ranks, but I am here playing League of Legends.

Hi,

I just downloaded and installed the Windows 10 Anniversary Update yesterday and so far I have noticed some changes in my computer that I was not aware of before the update.

(1) Somehow my System Restore was set to Disabled and all of my restore points are now gone and

(2) All of my Microsoft Update History is also missing.

Could the update be the cause of both?

Thanks and regards,

2harts4ever

A:Update History missing after Win10 Anniversary Update

Yes, the update is the cause of both.

Major version upgrades like this change so much functionality, they often have to reset various settings to default so that they are in a known good state. Unfortunately, many have complained about the System Restore option being reset to Disabled (this is the Windows default).

As for your previous restore points, that's to be expected. You can't restore to a previous restore point on a previous OS version. All the baseline files are different, and you would be restoring settings for the old OS if you were to somehow be able to restore it.

Think of it like a Bookmark or favorite, but they've moved the location to a different URL. Restoring the old favorite only points you to somewhere that doesn't exist anymore.

As for #2, your update history is gone because again, it's a fresh OS, and previous updates are all integrated into the OS now, not patches. Those old updates don't apply to the new OS anymore.

I have connected the laptop to a docking station. The docking station has a connection for a headset/external amplifier. Ideal for connecting the amplifier. Only that connection has no bass anymore. The headset connection of the laptop itself does have a nice sound, but I hate to keep switching the plug 10x a day between headset and amp. (Telephone + Amp = echo). My alarm clock only works with the external speakers, but Skype and Softphone want the headset. Also, I have to switch off the HP speakers in the system and only have the external headset on, as since one of the latest updates the internal speakers do not switch off anymore when the headset gets plugged in. This has repercussions for audio players and video players, as they want their sounds to go through the HP speakers. Only VLC mediaplayer has the option to switch between sound channel, but I have to change it every time I start up a video. Before the update there was an automatic switch and I could leave both of them on and the sound channel was chosen autamtically and would switch to headset when that was plugged in, etc. I am using Windows 7 64 bits and windows 10 is not an option because of various older programmes that would need to be updated (if still possible), which would be quite costly.I noticed something new was installed called SRS Premium Sound Pro. Maybe that is the culprit. I do not dare changing anything in it. Does anyone know how to debug this?

What I do not get is if I am Deletting it why do I have to click the Hide Tab?

To me this means that it will always be here I just wont see it.

Am I right?

When you see KB3035583 in the Windows update downloads, right-click it and select hide.

That's it ... until Microsoft makes a change to it and re-releases it. And if and when they do, you'll have to repeat the above procedure.

Problem: No sound for streaming videos. (I don't have video stored on my computer to test that source.) Internet source sound works from Merriam Webster Dictionary Audio and from MSN Mail, so may be a streaming problem.

Possible Cause: On 6/4 I installed one security update - Windows Defender Definition Update #KB915597 Definition 1.59.789.0. Since that installation I cannot get sound via the internet except through MSN Mail. No sound from UTube or other video sites.

Other Possible Cause: Ocassionally I get error messages re: Java, either "not the latest version" or "this program needs an earlier version". However the sound worked fine until the 6/4 update was installed. I have installed the latest version and uninstalled all previous versions but still get the message.

Already Tried:
1. Uninstalling the update, can't be done because it's Windows Defender.
2. Switching browsers from Firefox 3 to IE 7, still had no sound.
3. Uninstalling and reinstalling Java.

Additional Info: Audio is fine for music through Media Player. Via internet I do get the greeting voice sound from MSN email. I don't use other internet sound sources much so don't know if this is blocking all other internet sound.

Can you tell me how to solve this?

Three days ago my Windows 7 computer upgraded itself (without my permission) to Windows 10. Mostly this hasn't mattered as I've quickly found how to fix or do things that have altered. However my sound system is now unusable because of echo/reverberation. I have checked that all drivers for the sound components are up to date (the Win10 install did this automatically it seems from the dates shown). I have attached screen-grab images of the System and Sound components descriptions. I would appreciate help on how to fix this.

I saw the other thread about the missing Beats Audio Control Panel, but I also have one other problem in addition to that. The light on the mute function key, F6, no longer works.  When I press it, it will mute the sound, but the light does not go on.  I getthe display confirmation "X" showing that the sound has been muted when pressed, but the light does nothing. So, I don't know if the sound is muted or not without pressing the F6 button or adjusting the sound with the F7/F8 keys.  As a note, my F12 does show the two different colors for whether or not the notebook is in airplane mode, so it's limited to the F6 audio key. I followed the instructions for getting the Beats Audio Control Panel back, but I did not have any luck by deleting and letting it reinstall my audio driver.  I also did the step of downloading and installing the chipset driver.  No difference came from either. My sound overall seems fine from the speakers, but I know I'm not getting the benefit of the Beats Audio Control Panel. I also have a mute light that no longer works.  Both were just fine before installing the Win10 1st Anniversary Update. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the F6 mute light back and also any additional steps to try in order to get the Beats Audio Control panel back?  I'm more concerned and interested in getting my F6 mute light back nd working.  The Beats Audio isn't a critical issue to me, but I wanted to... After importing Driver Pack (sp79189) to SCCM 1606 and installing a new HP Elite Desk 800 G3 the sound is not working. If I check Device Manager, all drivers seems to be installed successfully.  I also created a SCCM Package to install the Connexant Audio Driver 8.65.186.50 separately (Sp78903) . I used the following command: setup.exe -s  SCCM log told me, that the driver was installed successfully, but the sound is still not working. If I install the driver manually, the driver will install successfully and the sound is working. I also realized that HP Audio Control Tool was installed then. With SCCM there is no Audio Control Tool.  It would be great, if somebody can help me. Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome. You will have to update manually using the Media Creation Tool. Click on the Download Tool button. I've had to do that on two of our machines.

I tried to update to the edition 1607 of Windows 10 in this notebook that already had win 10 ver 1511 running properly. After downloading the update and start installation, everything went ok until restart time. In the middle of rebooting, computer stoped showing blue screen with error THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER. System unistalled  ver 1607 "returning to previous 1511 version". I tried other two times to update, with the same blue screen. I started to look in the forums for help and update all the drivers, AMD radeon, PCI, etc.  By now I am almost certain that the problem is still the display adapter AMD Radeon. I have read and followed all instructions in this forum to update the driver, I even went to amd web page and used the auto detect & update drivers there with no success. Still every time that I try to update the blue screen appears again unistalling win updates returning me to the previous version. Can you help me with this? Thanks a lot!MARCO

Dell has decided to abandon a lot of its customer base with its decision to not support the Win10 Anniversary update (1607). I have an XPS 8300 that is not supported. I suppose the only recourse for those of us who are to be treated this way is to abandon Dell as a supplier. No issue with my HP laptops (with older technology) or with my HP desktop.
Thanks, Dell. It is not exactly what one might expect from a business that is customer-focused.

Does the Windows 10 update on a Aspire S7-392 keeps the RAID 0 working properly?

A:Win10 update and RAID 0 on a S7-392

It should, IIRC the RAID0 is handled on the SSD module, not through external hardware or software drivers. This means it should be compleely transparent to the OS. I'd suggest verifying that you have the current BIOS installed and, of course, all the latest OS and driver updates. Backup the system then go for it!

Hi,
I'm the owner of an Inspiron 7520 that I've buied in 2012. I've tried to update my win7HP 64bit SO to win10 on line.
The process has been aborted, I don't know why. Now when I try to power it on my Inspiron shows the DELL logo, then a black screen with a flashing cursor and that's all.
I cannot access recovery menu by pressing F8.
I've tried to install win10 ISO by CD but it doesn't work.
I've tried also to install win7 by the original CD and it apparently works. It starts the installation but then it asks certified drivers. I've tried to insert the CD containing the original drivers by DELL and also to insert a CD containing the SATA controller drivers but it cannot find the drivers.
Can anyone please help me??? Thank you.

" I've tried to install win10 ISO by CD but it doesn't work ".

Most of the times, those windows 10 ISO on a CD doesn't work, therefore I like to suggest you create a bootable 10 USB flash drive. Please follow steps (click on Show More) in video below.

I just bought a new x1 6th gen Thinkpad. As I was setting it up I of course installed all the updates, hardware as well as the Windows 10 spring update from April 2018. Before installing the Win-update my mobile broadband device was working fine (850 GL 4G LTE). But now its not even listed in the bios menu or in the device managers menu. I'm searching all the forums for solutions, but i couldnt find anything that worked for me. May it be the uninstalling of updates, reconfiguring the powersettings of the wlan device, and I couldnt find a firmware update for the Fibocom L850 GL 4G LTE mobile broadband device. I even tried installing linux but this also didnt make any difference, as it seems to be on the firmware level of the mobile broadband device. Does anyone have a working solution for this problem?

Unfortunately when MS outputs it to the notification bar thing on the right(see pic below), it truncates it so much that I can't tell what to add. I have started a thread on this at social technet MS Pro IT but no solution as to full name, though I realized I could set WDSC/V&t Prot Setgs/ realtime check to off temporarily, so I have my updates. - Any clue?screenshot

Hello, everyone. I recently bought an E5-473-53c0, DOS. I temporarily installed an unactivated Windows 10 on it so I can use the device. Now, in My Acer homepage, it says Windows 10 update is available for some devices, and when I checked the list, it included E5-473. Will my device be updated to a (legit) Windows 10? If yes, how? I tried the Media Creation tool but it doesn't run. Now, another issue with this device is, the trackpad seems unsupportive of multi-touch. I tried to install ELAN, Synaptics drivers but they wouldn't work. I just find it ridiculous that a core i5 device manufactured June 2015 doesn't have a decent trackpad. Is it really the hardware, or could it be a software issue? My device has installed all updates via Windows Update. Thank you so much. Please help.

You will need to purchase a Windows license, since your machine didn't come with one. You can purchase a Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 license, then when it's activated update to the latest and greatest.

I guess the Tech Guy Support Mail List is no longer operating. I'm getting undelivered email notices. I assume this Forum is the replacement??

Just curious, has anyone who upgraded to the new free Win10 OS experienced any issues following the automatic updates?? We upgraded to Win10 a couple months ago on our desktop and my wife's laptop, no problems with the upgrade. A couple weeks ago following an update, I received a message that CCleaner (aka CrapCleaner) had been inactivated/removed from my desktop pc because the version was incompatible with Win10. I've also started received a startup message something to the effect that "MOM implementation startup routine cannot be activated". I'm not sure what MOM even is but I've just been deleting the popup notice and all seems to work OK, haven't notice any other effect. I re-installed CCleaner with the latest free version and it seems to work fine.

Two days ago, a day or two following a Win10 update, my wife discovered that her laptop would no longer bring up her Incredimail email client. The startup icon is still there but the program won't activate. She also found that her Wild Tangent games icon had disappeared, a file search failed to find it the program. After running an anti-malware scan which failed to find anything, I suggested she restore her system to a date two days back, before the latest Win10 automatic update. She did the restore and it fixed both problems. But when she ... Read more

A:Update Issues with Win10???

One of the problems with upgrading from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 is that some programs will no longer work after the upgrade or some programs may be uninstalled during the upgrade process.
If you reinstall the current version of Piriform CCleaner, it'll install and work fine.

The "MOM implementation" message appears to be a common problem with computers that have an AMD graphics device and are running Windows 10.
I've seen at least 4 posts here in the past week that have that problem.

Hi, trying to update (well I'm not trying but Win10 just keeps on going at it) from Win10 version 1511 to Win10 1607, The machine just stoppes after a few hours with a grey screen and I have to restart until it rolls back to the old version.I have now been told by Microsoft that to do this the machine will need an updated "system devices driver". I know this is an older machine, so is this available? has it been done? will it be done? Is there a way to stop Win10 from trying to update?

A:Win10 1607 update

Hi: I had the same thing happen to my son's PC. He told me that it keeps trying to update, and he has to revert back to the older W10 and it wastes a lot of time. I did not have the time when I was visiting his house, to try and figure out what the issue could be, so I installed the utility to prevent windows from installing updates that mess up the PC. You can do the same by downloading this utility. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3073930/how-to-temporarily-prevent-a-driver-update-from-rei... Run the utility before Windows has a chance to start updating itself again to the anniversary edition. It will scan your PC and show the available updates.  Check the Windows update that is trying to install and that will hide the update and it will no longer bother you unless you run the utility again and select unhide the update. HP will not be releasing any W10 drivers to support your PC, so you may have to live with the status quo.

Is there like a certain timeframe to this by having that setting checked?

Should I then uncheck Defer updates and run the Check for Updates manually?

Ever since I performed the Win10 Pro 64bit update/upgrade
(which I didn't want to do in the first place but Microsoft doesn't really give you any choice), I've been having all kinds of trouble with
Internet Explorer 11...
ie: freezing, no video streaming, "tab" function, can no longer open certain sites, etc., etc.
On my other PC with Win7 Pro 64bit, I'm also getting a few similar issues but nothing like the Win10 one.
Has Microsoft done something to sabotage Internet Explorer 11 in their lust to force the use of
Edge or is there an actual solution to its many new problems?
