Yoga730 reinstall the win10 home systen

Q: Yoga730 reinstall the win10 home systen

I bought the Yoga730 with Win10home system couple days ago ,and installed the Win10education system later by mistake, however, the laptop doesn't work now. I want to reinstall the Win10 home system, How can I do it? Thank you a lot!

Preferred Solution: Yoga730 reinstall the win10 home systen

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Easiest thing to do is call support if its under warranty and ask for a recovery USB or you can download online recovery. Below is the support number. Below that is link to download/order recovery.

I have winxp pro on a ide drive, computer was crashing a lot and going slow so I reinstalled and formatted c:. Also present are two SATA drives on a pci contoller card, that I use for data storage. When rebooting the new install, the sata drives were not there in my computer or in disk management. I reinstalled the card drivers and they are now present but with no letter mapped as if they were newly installed drives. I followed disk managements prompts and made them dynamic and gave them their drive letters. They now appear in my computer but will not open behaving as unformatted drives. Disk management also says the are empty which they most definitly are not. I don't want to format them as they have home movies and photos which I have not backed up. I don't want to use data recovery software as it is expensive and anyway the disk are not damaged in any way. It seems windows has lost its way to opening instuctions on them. Help!

I would like to upgrade my OS from win10 home to win10 pro. As my pc is still under warranty I assume that I have to go through Dell to do this.
I have tried Sales who referred me to Tech Support, who the referred me back to Sales!!
All I need to know is can I do this, where do I download the key/installer and how much is it?
Any ideas?

A:How do I upgrade my OS from win10 home to win10 pro?

Normally, you go to the Microsoft store and purchase an upgrade license.  The upgrade is not a new install, but an upgrade from within Win 10.
After that is done, you will have a License registered for the Pro version and from then on you will be able to do a clean install of the Pro version.
Once you do that, the Dell recovery options may not work correctly, but I haven't actually tried it.  I have use the Win 10 recovery drive to go back to factory specs.

I bought a lenovo Yoga730 13IKB on December 28, 2018. However I had a lot of problems with this laptop. Firstly I had some kind of a hinge problem (i'm gonna share some photos) and also I had wifi problems. Because of that I went to lenovo technical service (2 times).Firstly, they changed the hinge but the wifi problem kept going because of that I didn't get back the laptop. Then , they said to me we are going to change the wifi module. After the second technical service experience , I got the laptop and I tested it there(in the lenovo technical service). There were still hinge problems and i talked to the technical personel. He told me 'Lenovo can not help you and if you want , you can go to the consumer arbitration committee(in Turkey)'. Before going to the consumer arbitration committee , I just wanted to share this experience because it was the worst experience I've ever had and my problems couldn't be solved. Lenovo was a pretty reliable company for me. However , I could not figure it out and that's why I'm here.

I've purchased all the components for my new PC..and it includes a completely new chipset on the motherboard (1151). I recently purchased a windows 10 key from here (Windows 10 Home 32-bit/64-bit English International: Amazon.co.uk: Software). The USB flash drive Home version.

I've read around that with windows 10, if you upgrade your motherboard then you need to purchase a new key. I was planning on reinstalling it anyway.

Just wanted to ask if anybody knows if this is a retail version or an OEM?

For my new PC, I have upgraded everything apart from my SSD and HDD's

Hello,I brought my first Dell device a Desktop PC in July this year. It was running perfectly until this morning when I turned it on but Mozilla Firefox Browser wouldn't open. I had been sing Chrome for over an hour and it was working fine. So I did a re-start, it booted, but got stuck saying "Restarting" with the circle going around but nothing more happened for nearly minutes so I turned it off at the wall.  Tried it again but same thing happened so I tuned it off at the wall again and left it that way.Meanwhile I hunted the entire place house looking for the Dell Box with paperwork, discs cables etc but I cant find it anywhere, which is very odd as i am always very organised and have kept everything PC related, in fact I still have all my old PC parts etc from 1998.   Presuming that I would have to reinstall windows like I'ce done a zillion times before with old PCs was no problem can do it with my eyes closed except..... I had NO windows disc!!!Trying not to let the panic set in,  I turned it back on at the wall and the Tower, and to my great relief it started normally. The first thing I did was log into my Dell account but became concerned when in my account details areas, there was no mention at all of my purchase of this new PC back in July.
My question: ... How do i reinstall windows on this Dell???I know, its embarrassing, having to ask such a basic task...  but would appreciate some help please.
Many thanksHelen

Hey, everyone,

I'm not sure if this is correct category for this question - feel free to move it if it isn't.

I have reinstalled Windows 10 on my laptop, as it was getting a bit slow. I formatted all of the disks before reinstalling it from USB. After reinstall it worked fine, I connected it to the Internet, transferred under a 100GB of my files from external hard drive, started installing software (Foxit Reader, Dropbox, Google Chrome, Skype and the like), updated my video card driver from a file downloaded from Intel website, as well as Free Driver Scout which updated my other drivers. It connected to the Internet and everything was working well. After installing all these drivers and software, I decided to restart it.

After restarting it, it loaded up saying it was unable to Boot from USB. I thought there was an issue with the BIOS setting so I restarted it, tried to mess around, but I ended up restoring default settings. After that, whenever I turn on my laptop it starts working, I can hear it working and trying load CD-ROM, the ventilation is working, it is charging and the lights that show that it started are on. Besides that, I can't do absolutely nothing - it seems to be working, but the screen is dark and the Windows won't boot. I can't go into BIOS as well.

I tried taking the battery in and out, as well as attaching an external monitor. I don't know what else to try, as it won't even go into BIOS. Please advise on things to tr... Read more

I have accidentally removed the whole windows store when using PowerShell, I would like to ask if there is any method to reinstall the windows store without resetting the computer, thanks.

A:Reinstall the windows store for win10

If you have really uninstalledl Windows Store, I don't think you can just simply reinstall.
Check to make sure whether Windows Store itself was gone or just the apps were gone..........
type windows store in the search bar > Enter. If it leads to the web, then the Store is gone from your system.

If you are willing to do Reset option, you might as well do a Clean Install.
Reset option might and had caused various issues for some people, Clean Install is fool-proof.

Our Asus X series laptop (I'll get specific model etc... later when at home and update post) with Win 10 has ceased to function.

It boots up (seemingly) okay, but will not connect to the internet and we can't open any programs.

I can connect to the internet with other devices (smartphones, kids tablets, work's laptop), so it can't be the modem/router.

The laptop has been getting slower and slower over time and I've been meaning to have a browse for potential issues/fixes, but hand is now forced.

My question is whether it is worth running any diagnostic tools on it (if I can get them to run), or do I try and reinstall Win 10 ?

Not being particularly tech savvy I'm not sure what diagnostics would need to be run or even how I go about reinstalling the system, so any/all help and guidance greatly appreciated.

A:Reinstall XP Home How do I reinstall all my Program Files I Have?

You installed a new version of XP in the same folder as your old one instead of repairing the one that was there already. Your programs are there, but not "installed". You need to reinstall all the programs to create their registry entries and shortcuts.

You probably have 2 "Windows" folders, too, with different names. Go to Start > Run, and type:

to see which one you are using now and delete the other one.

hi all
Ended up reinstalling windows 10 after getting the windows 10 disappearance bug. Soon after that my xbox app stopped working so I did a reinstall. This was an upgrade from windows 7 originally along the free upgrade route.
Here is my laptop
windows 10 pro v 1511
os build 10586.71
sager p9772
intel core i7-4790 @3.6 ghz
16gb ram
64 bit of course
nvidia geforce gtx970m

So what happens is that when streaming the games are jumpy. Initially with destiny I thought it was more lag than anything but any game seems to do it. I am running a wired connection to my xbox one from my router and when I am at work I use wifi, when I am at home sometimes I stream while the wife is passed out on the couch. That can be wired or wireless. I do see a subtle change with the wired but the jumpy and lagginess has never been this bad.
I believe I have updated all of my drivers.
I used the nvidia ge force experience
I updated my killer wireless driver from atheros
I updated everything I could think of.

I know I am missing something but I am having a hard time figuring it out.
Any help would be appreciated and I can post more information
Unfortunately this laptop is the only win10 machine in the house as the old desktop runs win 7 so the kids can use the cable card and windows media center (stinks it isn't on windows 10).

I am trying to do a reinstall of xp home and on setup it says it cannot find a previous version on hard drive. XP got corrupted and won't boot that is why I was going to reinstall. Any ideas?????

A:XP home reinstall does not find previous version of Xp home

Sounds like you have an Upgrade disc, does it say Upgrade on the disc itself?
Is it asking you it insert a disk with the previous OS?

In that case, you should be able to insert the CD for your previous operating system (Win9x/WinME/Win2K) to show setup that you have a qualifying copy.

I'm downloading a fresh iso from Tech Bench using method 1 on this tutorial Windows 10 ISO Download everything I see indicates a single iso from either Tech Bench (method 1) or using the MCT (method 2) has both Home and Pro editions. If this is the case then I only need one USB W10 x64 iso to cover both editions, and as a boot option to repair if needed.

I have four computers, my desktop, and laptop with W10 Home and Pro 64x, my wife has two laptops still on Win7, one Home and one Pro both 64x. The laptop with Win7 Pro is getting W10 today, I'm downloading the Tech Bench iso right now to have it if the "Upgrade Now" choice fails on method 2 of the tutorial above.

TIA for any replies, just want to make sure what I read is how it works.

A:Are Win10 Home and Pro editions on the same iso?

Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro is included in the same ISO file. You need to install/upgrade to either one, that is supported to your existing windows version.

If the ISO is already downloaded, I personally find the "upgrade now" way is slower than the Point 7 on this Tutorial:

7. To Upgrade to Windows 10 with an ISO file
A) If you have not already, you will need to download a Windows 10 ISO file.

B) In Windows 8, 8.1, or 10, mount the ISO file, and go to step 9 below.

C) In Windows 7, you will need to extract the files in the ISO to a new folder on your desktop, open the folder, and go to step 9 below.

Just got a new Lenovo laptop with Win-10 Home to replace my older Win-7Pro laptop.

This laptop has a whole bunch of junk software that Lenovo has installed.

I was wondering what the best way is:
- backup the system so in case I need to, I can reset to factory configuration
- wipe out everything on HDD
- install Win-10 from scratch and only programs that I need

Any pointers/suggestions would be appreciated.

Final question - can I install Win-7 pro on this laptop with my older license (old laptop is no longer being used) and use the free upgrade to upgrade to Win-10 Pro?

Thank you for your assistance.

A:Fresh install on new laptop w/Win10-Home

1. Back up of everything: periodic disk imaging is the way to go.. I prefer Aomei Backupper (free is good)- many prefer the free version of Macrium Reflect although this lacks incremental imaging, being a version of an excellent commercial product.
2. Try this to remove unwanted stuff conveniently:
The PC Decrapifier
(Says it works with Win 10)
I used it a long time ago.. a neat convenience tool.

A clean install means getting and creating the installation medium and 2+ hours to install.

I think the answer to your last is yes, unless it's an OEM license.

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 3650 with Win10 Home installed. I didn't buy the Win10 Pro version from Dell because I had a Retail copy of Win7 Pro that I was going to install and then upgrade to Win10 Pro. What happens every time (on my third clean Win7 Pro install try now) is that my fully licensed and activated Win7 Pro machine wants to "upgrade" to Win10 Home.

This is not my first rodeo. I have upgraded many of the machines here from Win7 Pro and Ultimate to Win10 Pro without a problem. This includes Vostro 260s, Optiplex 3020s and Inspiron 3847s. This Inspiron 3650 has been a problem from day 1. I've even done a few friends Win7 Home to Win10 Home upgrades on various machines without problem. Anybody have a clue WHY this box won't upgrade to Win10 Pro?

I am working on a friends computer that was full of nasties. Before I got rid of all the nasty viruses, pups and trojans, I had no problem connecting to the internet via my netgear 802.11 wireless adapter. Now that it is clean I keep losing my internet connection. What could be the problem? Also her Mitsumi cd rom and Sony cd-rw is no longer listed under my computer. In device manager, they both give me an error message, one is red and the second one is yellow.I will post the exact error message when defrag is complete. Mitsumi cd rom FX4821T!A- code 22 then when I click enable a box comes up that says windows was not able to enable this device.Sony cd rw crx216e code 39She is running xp proAMD-K6tm w/multimedia extensions266 Mhz,160MB of RAMI already told her she needs more ram and a bigger hard drive but I am beginning to wonder if I made her problem worse than what it was. Thanks in advance for any help.EDIT: Merged topics, issues on same system, title reflects latest issue ~ Hamluis.

Alright, so I recently bought a brand new computer, and now I'm wanting to sell my laptop. Before I sell it, though, I want to do a complete wipe of the hard drive, and reinstall a fresh (legal) copy of Windows XP Home Edition, using the disc that originally came with my laptop.

So far, I've been able to completely reformat the hard drive, and setup loads just fine. The problem I run into, is when the OS is reinstalling. Here's what I get:

The thing is, I've got that exact disc in the drive already. This is the same disc that was originally bundled with my laptop. The OS and SP1 weren't on two separate discs. They were both put together on 1 disc, so there couldn't possibly be another disc to use. I've spent about an hour on Google, and finally found what I believe to be the solution to this situation. It comes straight from the horses mouth too: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=311755

The problem, though, is that pretty much everything on that Microsoft support page is foreign to me. Use a Windows 98 Startup disk? Where do I get one of those? Copy files using the command prompt? Yikes. Now I have a fairly good understanding of Windows and computers in general, but I never had to go through this much of a hassle the last time i reinstalled XP Home on this very same laptop.

I'm wondering if there might be a kind soul who might be able to give me a step by step of what I need to do to get XP Home reinstalled on my laptop before i sell it. Any i... Read more

I've built an entirely new system over the last few days and I'm having some unexpected issues with Windows 10 Home x64 and it's driving me insane. This new build, and all components in the build are brand new... Software wise, I purchased a new key and used the Microsoft Windows Media Creation Tool to perform a fresh install. The other PCs in my home run Windows 10 with no little to no issues at all so I'm very concerned that I have a driver/hardware issue.

Build Components

Installation Procedure
Initial Boot to UEFI - Verified All Peripheral's Connected and Configured UEFI Settings (SSD & HDD set to AHCI) to allow boot priority to SSD & USB.RESTART - Booted to USB with Media Creation Tool. Selected SSD on SATA Port 0 for installation.INSTALL - No issues encountered, rebooted and installed LAN drivers to access internet. Began driver installation for MB, SSD and GPU. Restarted for windows updates and updated UEFI to latest version.Boot Failure - Windows Logo with black screen, no cursor. Restarted and entered UEFI to check boot settings, noticed a "Windows Boot Manager Port 0 SSD" and "SSD Port 0" option. Set to Windows Boot Manager, restarted and failed twice. Set to SSD and failed twice. Set to Windows Boot Manager and it finally booted to desktop. Some failures were a blue windows 10 logo with no mouse, no circle, nothing... other times "Preparing for Automatic Recovery" and one occasion it hung on t... Read more

I'm planning on upgrading to Win10 on my second notebook - I can easily restore it to 7 if need be.

This notebook has Win7 Pro x64 - will I get Win10 Pro or home or whatever else they offer?

I did search the labyrinth of the MS site and could not find an answer.
