O2 Mobile Broadband Dongle MF 100

Q: O2 Mobile Broadband Dongle MF 100

I have a dongle to use with laptop when away from home. I have connected to O2 Mobile Broadband and will purchase credit on daily, weekly or monthly basis when necessary. The dongle claims to be a memory stick and does work in that capacity on the laptop where the O2 Mobile Broadband is installed, but does is not recognised as an external drive in the desktop computer (which does not have the O2 mobile broadband software installed. Any ideas of why not?

Preferred Solution: O2 Mobile Broadband Dongle MF 100

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: O2 Mobile Broadband Dongle MF 100

If its like my wifes dongle then it has a micro sd card inside, to read those files in another machine you need to use a separate card reader.

You could try and install the o2 mobile software on the DT computer and access it there.

I have recently acquired a ZTE MF 112 Dongle from 3
I installed it on my wife's laptop, (running Windows 7), without a hitch.
Unfortunately when I tried to do the same on my laptop running the same OS, all it appears to do is install then when I click on the icon nothing happens.

A few months ago I decided to disable some of the services that I didn't think I would need on my laptop, could this be the reason?

If it is, can anyone furnish me with the services that need to be enabled?

Below is a list of halted services.

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone can help.
What i have is one of them 3 mobile bb dongles. Now, if i install the software then i can get it to work and get on the internet. But if i disconnect and remove the dongle from my machine, once i plug it in again it wont work lol.
I have to remove the software and reinstall. Could anyone shed any light on this for me? My dongle is a ZTE make. Upon first install of software i had to connect my netbook to the wireless in my house so update could find the right drivers for it

Thanks for any help

A:3 mobile broadband dongle works then stops

I found the same thing. It does work though, but not with the 3connect software. If you click the connections icon in the taskbar you should see a connection called 1.3G you can connect it manually buy clicking it and selecting connect. You cant send texts though with the 3connect software.

Hi all,

I've got a Huawei model E1752 USB mobile broadband dongle, and whenever I plug it in to my laptop, the computer restarts continually until I unplug the dongle.

I'm running Vista Home Premium 32-bit, which is the original OEM OS installed on the system. The system is 2 1/2 years old, and I have never reinstalled the OS (I'm embarrassed to say I wouldn't know how).

I've followed the instructions in jcgriff2's BSOD sticky at the top of the forum, and hopefully was able to include all the necessary information. I'd appreciate any help anyone can provide.

A:Crash when USB mobile broadband dongle plugged in

I am only running the last 5 memory dumps (the one's from October).

Interestingly, the 5 dump files blame snapman.sys - a component of Acronis True Image
Please uninstall Acronis, then try the dongle to see if that fixes the problems.
If it does, please install a current version of Acronis that's certified to work with Windows Vista.

Please go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers
Copy the following 2 drivers to your Desktop ( ProDscFS.SYS and ProDscFT.SYS )
Then zip them up and upload them with your next post.
These are unknown drivers that are present in the crash dump and there is no information available about them.

Also, please remove or update these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager.
Please use the following instructions to locate the most currently available drivers to replace the one's that you uninstall OR remove:

How To Find Drivers:
- I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box below. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back... Read more

I bought a PAYG T-Mobile broadband dongle (Huawei E173s-1) and I cannot see the icon or Removable Devices on "My Computer". I have an old ACER, OS Win XP. I can see the pop up message "Found New Hardware" but the Windows Wizard cannot find the driver. In the Device Manager>Other Devices, I can see the make of the key Huawei mobile with a question and exclamation mark. Normally, the driver is in the dongle and should install automatically. I occasionaly download files and software from the Internet. How can I install my mobile broadband dongle on my laptop? I have also a problem with DVDs and CDs, I cannot see them in "My Computer" and they cannot play. Thanks for your help! Sam

A:How can I install my mobile broadband dongle on my laptop?

The problem with CD's and DVD's may be the problem with the Dongle too. Some of these dongles create a virtual drive, either a USB drive or virtual CD drive that then installs the drivers for the rest of the functions.

Try this Microsoft Fixit to see if it fixes the drive issue: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us

Have had a search on the forums and have found some helpful stuff, but nothing that solves my problem completely.

My Goal
I have a desktop PC where the only internet connection is via a 'USB mobile broadband dongle'.
I have connected the PC via ethernet cable to the ethernet port on a d-link wifi router (which isn't connected to the internet).
I'd like to be able to connect other non-PC devices (eg my mobile phone) to the router via wifi in order to connect to the internet.
To do this, I gather that one possible solution is to bridge the LAN and dongle connections.

My Problem
My first problem is that in 'Network Connections', only my USBdongle connection is shown (see pic) - there is no icon for the LAN/ethernet. In device manager, the "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter" and "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller" are both showing without any ?'s etc (see pic).

I've also attached my IPCONFIG as 2 pics.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Other info:
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 on a HP Pavilion All-in-one MS200 desktop.

A:No LAN showing - trying to bridge with USB Mobile Broadband Dongle

I have no idea why/how your ethernet and Wi-Fi are not showing in Network Connections; they are in the ipconfig and are connected to a router.

To bridge you'll need to be paying for multiple public IP addresses, if that is even possible with mobile wireless. You may be able to use Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) if your ISP does not block it.

I've got a 3 mobile broadband dongle I'd like to share over WiFi. I've already ticked the ICS options in the properties of the connection, but I've tried several times to use the internet with both iphone and ipod touch without any joy.

The router I have is a Netgear dg834g with latest firmware. The dongle is connected to the side USB port on my laptop.

Can someone provide any ideas on how to do this?

A:How to share a mobile broadband dongle over WiFi?

Some wireless vendors inhibit ICS when you're using their dongle, perhaps that's the issue?

You should consider a 3G router which allows you to connect that device directly to the router and share the connection.

What's the ISP and the EXACT make/model of the broadband dongle?

My colleagues and I have the following setup in our project office. We installed a wireless router with a NAS for daily backup purposes. The router is not connected to the internet. To get online, each of us have a mobile broadband dongle plugged in our laptops.

The strange thing is that some of us can use the wifi-connection and mobile dongle simultaneously, but some of us can't. For those who can not, their laptop is searching for an internet connection at the router's address, and not at the dongle's, and obviously fails. They can only connect to the internet if they disconnect from the router, which we don't want because it interferes with the automated daily backups. Any idea on how we can set the dongle as priority internet connection, or something? We all use Windows 7.

Here's an odd thing.
After switching off my Dell Dimension 5150 and then switching off the power at the mains, which I do when I go away for long periods, it then won't restart until I remove the mobile broadband dongle. I get the flashing amber signal on the power button. However, as soon as I remove the dongle, then the PC starts up fine, or at least it has done so far, so it's not really a problem, but it would be interesting and probably quite wise to find out why this is happening.

I did recently remove the case to replace the CMOS battery as I was getting the low battery message on start-up, but, apart from that, I can't recollect doing anything that may have caused this.

I run Windows 7 64bit os with an Orange high Speed (!) mobile broadband dongle (515m).
The software (Internet Everywhere) stopped working months ago and after much arguing with Orange, they admitted that it was a software compatibility problem with my os but promised that an update would be coming soon. They gave a workaround which meant the dongle worked on dial up (with associated speed).
However, after waiting months for the update, it's finally arrived but it still doesn't work!
Just like the last software version, after installing it clean, it crashes at start up and won't operate.
Last night I had to stay up hours to roll back my system to get the dial up working again as it prevented that from working too.
I'm really sick of this and Orange's response has been woefully unsatisfactory, bordering on insulting. The latest gem was to uninstall everything internet connected then download the software! How? This has been pretty much the level of response from Orange. I'm about ready to cancel my contract with them for breach of contract.
Any ideas anyone?

Oh, my laptop is an Acer Aspire 7540.

A:Orange Mobile Broadband 515m Dongle not working with Windows 7

Hi, not sure if this is what you meant by the workaround, but I had the same problem and solved it by manually configuring a dial-up connection with windows using the number *99#
The software started crashing whenever I started it and, much like Orange have now pointed out, I suspected it was some sort of conflict with Windows 7. Initially the only way I had to get round it was constant system restores whenever the problem started, but that wasn't practical. The manual dial-up seems the best way I have found so far. The speed and service using it this way appears to be the same if not better than when using it with the software.

Hi All ! I'm new to this excellent forum and this is my first post so I hope someone can help ? I bought a HP G62 Laptop PC in March this year, it is an I3core Win7 machine which I have been very pleased with until I started to experience a Blue Screen Crash Dump (BSCD) when I tried to access firstly my T-Mobile broadband dongle and now my "Three UK" broadband dongle. The T-Mobile dongle I have used for about 3 years on my older HP Pavillion XP machine and my ADVENT 4213 Netbook. When I purchased the latest Win7 machine I had to upgrade the T-Mobile driver to a 64bit version which worked quite happily until the recent issues. I have contacted all of the respective suppliers support people without success each seem to blame the other without really trying to help ! So I have folloed some suggested resolutions to similar problems posted on this forum such as return to Best Previous Working Restore Point, MS Memory Tests, Updated all Drivers and downloaded all of the HP Updates but the PC still BSCD's every time. Both Dongles work fine on my ADVENT Netbook which is of course a 32 bit machine. Just a quick question im hoping someone can help me with.

I run Vista on my laptop however at my parents house they have a desktop that runs XP sp1 - im just wondering if my Orange Dongle will work on there machine? as i cant remember if it came with an installiation disk (if it did ive lost it) as it doesnt need one for Vista you just plug it in and your off .... i have a sneaking suspicion this is not the case for XP tho

Anyone offer any help on this?

Thank you

You're probably correct on that one because often Vista finds the driver automatically via a database.

However it is probably possible for you to get the driver off the internet. Its difficult for me to find it exactly as all you have said is orange broadband dongle, and so can't find any specifics, you will need the model of the usb dongle, here is orange's support section, try the search function:

my computer I had to re-install the software again - but it wasn't resolved the first time.
How can I fix this issue permanently please? Thank you, Andy.

First thought that comes to mind is update the drivers for your dongle!

So what device do you have (model, version of current drivers, Windows vista (Basic, Premium etc). operating system 32 or 64 bit.

With that information we might be able to assist you in finding them. Is this your device?

Hi, I am helping a friend with his laptop. It is a Packard Bell Easy note TJ67 laptop on windows 7. He had a virus so I used system to roll it back a month and then installed AVG, Superantispyware and adaware to clean up the laptop, which seemed to work fine. The laptop works fine now except for the 3 dongle which I cant get to connect to the internet. I have used the 3 dongle on my other laptop, and the dongle works fine. It installs its own software and drivers and then connects to the internet. I have run a virus scan on the dongle and it is clear. I install the dongle on the packard bell laptop, the drivers all install correctly and the software loads up fine. It even has signal and then when I click the connect button (using the three software) i get the message "The connection attempt failed, Make sure your device is connected to yourand that your settings are correct Would you like to connect again?" I try to connect via dial up on internet explorer and i get the message "Error 633 the device is already in use or is not configured properly"
I can connect to the internet fine through my home wireless system (which is no good to my friend who wants to connect via the dongle at home.
So in short
1) Laptop is fine and have scanned thouroughly for virus and cleaned up
2) Laptop connects to internet through my BT wireless

I have a dual boot system that was Ubuntu 15.04 and Windows 7 Home premium. All was working well in both OSs with the E160 dongle (my only means of internet connection in rural mid Wales). Yesterday I updated to Windows 10 (the download took over 8 hours) and despite everything I have tried there is no internet connection from Windows 10. Fortunately my Ubuntu still works fine. I cannot update or replace the driver easily as I only have the slow access via Ubuntu. Assuming it is a driver issue I will down load new drivers from my decent connection in the midlands and bring them with me next time. Just in case it is some obscure quirk with Windows 10 any guidance would be appreciated.

I get a BSOD "Driver power state failure" whenever I connect my Vodafone ZTE K4201I USB Mobile Internet Dongle. I am using a dell Inspiron 15R laptop with Windows 8.1 64 bit. While the dongle does light up, it does not show as 'detected' and the BSOD pops up within a minute or two after connecting. Usually, when it restarts after the BSOD, there is a message that 'no AMD graphics driver is installed'. If I try to update the USB Mobile Broadband driver without the dongle connected (on WiFi) it says that the best driver is installed.

Also, these days even without connecting the dongle, the laptop takes a long time to boot - there is the starting Dell screen, which then goes blank for a while, then again the Dell screen appears, and only after it the login page (with face recognition / password) appears. In Device manager, the face recognition driver shows as disabled saying that it malfunctioned and has hence been disabled.

Can anyone help?

My mums boyfriend has got a HP laptop running windows 7. The laptop was bought new about 2 years ago and he hasn't used it very much. He had a T-Mobile Huawei E1750 mobile broadband dongle installed and working since he has had the laptop. Recently he bought a new T-Mobile dongle from a phone shop which should be a plug in and play device am i right? Anyway it wouldn't automatically install on his laptop so he went back to the shop with his laptop and asked them if they knew why it wouldn't install. He said the woman in the shop un-installed the T-Mobile manager application and then went into to the settings and un-installed some stuff, possibably drivers?. He eventually got a refund but now no dongle will work on his laptop.I went to have a look at his laptop yesterday and when i bring up device manager it has the yellow exclamation sign next to the T-Mobile dongle and his cd-rom drive to. The old dongle he has will install and work on my xp PC so she hasn't formatted the dongle. Could she of deleted an .inf file or maybe an important update?
Thanks guys

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

I will be moving from the rented house I've been in for 21 months into a new house in the next couple of months. The house is a new-build and I will obviously not have broadband to start with - don't know if I'll have a phone line straightaway yet. I am trying to work out the best way to get online during this time.I am in the UK.

I went in to an O2 shop today and they were trying to sell me a dongle which cost 20 and then 2 a day, 7.50 for a week and 15 for a month. This would get over my immediate problem of geing broadband-lacking when I move but wasn't quite what I had in mind. I was thinking more of a dongle with x amount of Gbs (to be decided) which doesn't have clock running on it. So, after I've stopped needing it at the new house, I could take it out and about with me on my laptop whenever I wanted and when it ran out I'd top it up.

Does such a deal exist and, if so, what size in Gbs would be OK? We use aroung 10Gb per month on average but that's with the kids looking at YouTube, using iPlayer a bit so assume that just a bit of surfing would need less? Thanks for any help.

I'm using one on the 3 network, its the second one I've had.And Does anyone know if companies such as AOL or BT plan to bring out versions as at the moment in the uk its only T-Mobile,3,Virgin,Vodafone and Orange who offer them, and usage is quite expensive typically ?10 1Gb,?15 3Gb and ?25 7Gb.I'm using 7Gb a month and I'm not downloading very much

o2 are are advertising it,but its just a 3G i-phone on pay as you go for ?350 i could buy a laptop for that!! At the moment Vodafone offer the fastest speed 7.2mbps the other all around 3mbps.

Hi and welcome to the forums.

I assume you live in the UK like me so I think I can help.

I use 3 mobile broadband which in my opinion is the best of the PAYG tariffs. You can buy a dongle which is the expensive bit or if you have an unlocked 3G phone which allows tethering you can use that if you know how to set it up.
You get 150MB of free data when you top up (minimum ?5 in store, ?10 online) plus it also works as a phone if you want it to.
This 150MB of data lasts 90 days or until you use it all up.
This means it works out you spend ?1.66 for 50MB of data every month, which if you have static broadband at your home should be enough. If you ever use more than this just top up more regularly.

For more info (and probably a much clearer explanation visit 3 - Pay As You Go - SIM Only - Free stuff - Free stuff with every top-up)

I don't know too much about Virgin medias mobile broadband but a good place to start would be here Mobile Broadband - Broadband - Virgin Media

Hope this helps, Oli.

EDIT: After reading your post more carefully, it sound like your do not have your Internet connection going into a Wireless router and then to your laptop and desktop.

This suggests to me that your Virgin Contract may be quite old as all new tariffs include a free Wireless router and setup, not to mention less to pay per month (I went down this road with BT, tripled my connection speed, got a load of free stuff and I now pay ?10 less per month.)

Please help! I have 3 connect mobile broadband (dongle). I connected it ages ago and it installed and worked fine. Then I uninstalled it. Now when I put the dongle into the USB port, it won't auto install. It says that it cannot be installed properly. (it does, however, work on other computers). I phones 3 connect support and they were uselss. When I looked into device manager, and click on the icon (which has a ! on it) it says:
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19).

It wont auto load and im getting pretty fed up. Please can anyone help. I am thinking I must have deleted some drivers, but when i select 'update driver' it says that my drivers are fully updated.

Please help!

I've been using 3's mobile broadband for a few month now and everything's been fine...until I decided to try a different web browser to see if it was any quicker. I downloaded the Apple browser and it was ok but nothing too special so i uninstalled it. Since that day, when I click the 'connect' button on my broadband window, it's started coming up with the error -

'The web browser application associated with connection '3connect' failed to start. Please check your browser application settings.'

It works fine if you leave this message up and open up IE, but if you click 'ok' then it says that connection has failed do you want to retry...I'm confused. I can't for the life of me figure out where I'm supposed to change this. Can anyone help me please.

Hi guys
Just signed up with Blink Mobile Wireless Broadband and am enjoying better browsing after years of speeds of 40K avg optusnet dial-up.

1. What is my options concerning accessing newsgroups (Usenet) as my Forte Agent now doesn't work since changing over?.

2. E-mail access via my outlook, do I delete the dial-up optusnet mail account now, and if so what do I setup as the email acct to download mail to my hard drive & program I use for e-mail?.

3. Does anyone know if this provider or one's offering the same service, does use a part of your data limit while you are on-line but now browsing (I get up and have dinner leaving connect open)?.

4. Now it's up and running, do I simply delete all references to my former Optusnet dial-up (Connection, I.E Settings, ete)

Any other tips or advice most thankful for as the site I went to, had not that much to really educate a newbie to WBB.

My friend has a compaq presario 2133ac laptop runnig xp home sp2. she has recently tried to install and use a huawei e1762 usb modem for 3g mobile broadband(blinkit, powered by optus). the thing won't save a default setup for apn(the default setting is static, but should be dynamic). I've changed this manually, but although it claims to have saved and set as default, it still goes back to static on restart. when I connect to the net, internet explorer starts searching, then I get the bsod. it cites BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER. the usb hub onboard is version 1, and the device is version 2.0. I'm stuck! Any ideas?

A:mobile broadband is a bytche

It would appear that this is an issue to do with the laptops outdated usb version 1 hub. the ladys bro' tried the modem on his desktop(version 2.0 hub, more RAM), and it worked no drama(still had to manually set the connection profile, though). got the mongrel working on the laptop, but very slowly. I'm thinking that only a RAM upgrade(currently 256MB - dismal!!!) & a new usb 2.0 hub on the cardbus will fix this. The modems manufacturer(Huawei) don't seem to have this model listed.

Hi The card should work, has p/ns required. But might need (or not need) some efforts to work, in dependency of factory default or presale settings.

I already mentioned an issue concerning mobile broadband in this topic:
3G dial up connection properties changed/no automatic connect
and here
3G dial up connection properties changed/no automatic connect - Microsoft Answers

Now I have Windows 8 Pro RTM installed and still have the same issue.

I found the following website:
Engineering Windows 8 for mobile networks - Building Windows 8 - Site Home - MSDN Blogs

What I am looking for is my Huawei EM770W to pop up as:

But instead it just looks like:
And in the "Networks" charm I see a telephone icon next to the connection of which I think it is broadband. I can't even find that icon on Google.
I can only view the properties of the connection. That brings me to the desktop view and the standard Dial-Up settings.

The main issue is: I have HAD the Huawei EM770W work like that! It just doesn't do it anymore. Now I cannot set this connection to automatically connect. Basically: I cannot use the advantages for Mobile Broadband that Microsoft has built in Windows 8!

I would really appreciate some assistance here!
