IE 7 wont load after system restore from IE 8

Q: IE 7 wont load after system restore from IE 8

Hi, I downloaded IE8 beta but could'nt get it to open so used system restore in windows XP to go back to IE7. When I click on the icon IE7 opens briefly and freezes and then closes, and if I right click I have the following options, open homepage, no addons, create shortcut, rename, delete and properties. Nothing happens if I click on these names.
In control panel there is no option to remove IE

Preferred Solution: IE 7 wont load after system restore from IE 8

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

okay heres the whole story, i have no clue if the first part matters but im going to tell you it anyway.

yesterday i installed windows 7 it works great, and that's actually what i'm on now because vista wont load. so anyway, after having my laptop multi-boot with vista and windows 7 i was looking around the Microsoft website and relized that vista service pack 2 is out. i installed it it worked fine besides it was in classic mode and my personalization thing wouldn't load, (i know, i know, that's from vistaglazz) so i decided to restore my laptop to before i downloaded service pack 2. now that worked all fine and my old theme was back, i unpatched the theme things by putting the original .dll's and other files back. so now i thought i could try to install service pack 2 without a problem now, wrong. it did the same classic view and the personalization crashing stuff, so once again i tried to restore my laptop to before i downloaded service pack 2, it worked all fine until i went to start my laptop back up. it just stopped right before you have to type in your password to log into vista and says "please wait..." then after like a minute or two the screen goes black with a little underscore in the top left hand corner of the screen. then goes to the "please wait..." message again. i thought "Oh maybe i can just restart my laptop and it will be fine, nope. i restarted it a few times and it did the same thing, but i have no problem loading into windows ... I dont know if this is posted in the right area but I'm so desperate to get my laptop working its unreal.
First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly.
After that my laptop has not been working. The machine turns on and gives me two options. Start windows normally or do a repair. Upon starting windows normally, it loads so far before sending me back to the two options of start windows normally or repair. On the second time I clicked repair. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects. someone please help

A:windows 7 refuses to load and system repair wont load

Do a hardware/software reset with your BIOS:Shut down and turn off the computer.
Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
"Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect
cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices." (Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English))
Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all
power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS
and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.
(If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall. Do not reconnect any unnecessary peripherals; monitor, keyboard,
and mouse should suffice and be the only peripherals reconnected.
Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware

After doing those steps, clear your CMOS by entering the BIOS (see your system manual for steps to enter the BIOS), going to the EXIT screen, and loading setup/optimized defaults.

Might be a failing Hard drive. Get to your bios and see if there is any diagnostics there to do a hard drive test. On some motherboards its delete on others its F2. If there is no diagnostics on the bios i would make a USB bootable diagnostics and do that.
I just had the same problems and found out the hard way that it was a hard drive.

You need to be much more specific about what your problem is. I can't tell at all from your post what's really happening, and neither will anybody else. What exactly happens? What exact messages do you get? What "advanced options" are you talking about? Also, it appears this site's profanity filter has blocked something in your post. Using such language is not helpful.

I have been reading the forums and it seems that my win7 desktop has an issue with the system restore virus/worm/trojan. I was searching the web for information on teens huffing chemicals using Firefox & Google search. One of the pages began playing some annoying video, when I went to close it out I was presented with the same windows and warnings described in this post http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-windows-vista-recovery

normally I would not post on forums concerning issues such as this. I prefer to find the fix myself but the malware seems to have taken itself to a new level on my desktop. I cannot even get F8 to work. The computer launches the MSI screen that offers the press delete to get to the bios and tab to switch to post but only the delete button works then if I let it load all of the way I just get a back screen with the little DOS line flashing but I cannot type anything onto the screen. The only keys that seem to work are control alt delete to restart the computer.

I have been reading through a lot of posts on these forums concerning this issue but have been unable to find one quite the same as my present situation. It would be great to be able to save the information on the hard drive but I just spent a year in Korea and while I was gone my wife misplaced the backup and start-up disks for the desktop.

Is there any hope or should I just trash the hard drive and start over with the desktop?

Thank you

Hi, I'm not sure exactly which topic to put my problem in, but the main portion has to do with webmail. Yesterday I uninstalled NetZero because it said the software was corrupt, and so I reinstalled it. Before I uninstalled and reinstalled it, I had installed a new Norton AntiVirus CD from Netzero. When I realized you'd have to pay to use it, I decided I didn't want to have that on my computer. Well, I had had a free Norton Antivirus trial program on my computer prior to that, and they made me uninstall it before installing the CD. So, I had made a system restore point before any of this happened (it was right after removing the W32.Allim virus), and I used system restore to go back to right after I removed the virus. When I restarted the computer, I uninstalled and reinstalled NetZero. Since then, I cannot load my NetZero mail OR my AOL webmail. The trial of Norton Antivirus is nowhere to be found, and I would search for it but when I try to search, nothing comes up for me to even enter information. The ads on top of webpages don't load either, so maybe it has something to do with adware?? I wanted to use system restore to go to a different point, but now system restore won't load either! The window pops up, but there is nothing. I don't know if this is all because I tried to use system restore and the virus was put back, or if it's because of NetZero. Here's my Hijackthis log:

Hello, any help on my problem would be very greatly appreciated.
Okay so I have been having some trouble with viruses lately and I have been deleting them. But what I think happened (I'm not sure) is that the antivirus software (avast) has been deleting my windows files, Because when ever I would start my laptop I would get some messages about programs failing to start. So I decided to use system restore.. after system restore was done the laptop rebooted. Only then windows xp would not load.. and hasen't ever since. Here is what happens when I turn it on- The laptop starts normally. goes into the windows loading black screen like normal, then after that when it gets to the login user screen it comes up in a small window rather than the whole screen. Everything around the window is black. I type in my user name and password and the screen goes black. and it pretty much stays that way..
the only way I can get it to do something different is when I push the windows task manager buttons Alt, Ctrl, and delete, when I do that a small window comes up that says loading personal settings, then my desktop background comes up, but nothing on it, no bar, nothing. It won't load anything. I've tried putting in my windows reinstallation disc, but it dosen't read any discs, even when I restart the laptop with the disc in it.
I really need some information I have on my laptop ._. I don't have anything backed up, which was dumb, but yeah. Any ideas anyone?

A:Windows xp will not load after system restore

System Restore stores Viruses. So, if you deleted the virus and did a System Restore then you reloaded the virus. Try to Restart in Safe Mode with Networking. If that boots up then turn off System Restore, and then download and install www.malwarebytes.org and run a full scan, remove all malware and try rebooting in normal mode.

Hi, I have problems with my system righ now..The gist of my problem is that I got a counterfiet copy of windows 7 and I got a small program to clear that and now I lost my startup files to load windows. It says Bootmgr is missing , so I went online to look for solution. I burned the system restore disc from another computer with the same operationg system. Windows 7(my wifes comp). I put the disc in and it gets to the same spot and just hangs for long time... I freed upo like 10 gb before i lost my OS bootmgr. I have a USB stick as well and I put some files too on it for reboot, but still nothing.. Just hangs one spot..

AM I I actually running out of HD Space, if so can I access my hd foiles another way?? or format my d: drive. I cant do anything right now..Stuck... I am using my wifes laptop....

Cause I have counterfiet copy of windows 7 I am needing to roll back to vista somehow..

Any one with some insight to how long system restore should take.

I am hoping this will take care of debug mode which I tried to disable permanantly.

I cant access my safe mode or f10 mode, only f2 and f12 thats it...

I got Acer Aspire 5315 latop...Vista home Basic is my base/orig os and now I have windows 7 and I need to get rid of it permanantly...Illegal copy thats why..

A:Trying To load Bootmgr and system restore

Hi Tom,
I have read and read this thread you posted over and over and to be honest, i get lost as to what issue is to be solved first. Let me try to gather this up , Boot manager ? only able to F2 or F12 ? What is F12 ? i figure f2 is bios interface display.
You have orig. OS , legal copy of Vista Home Basic, but, you installed illegal copy of Windows 7 ? Did you do a clean install of this , replacing your Vista ?
Do you have a dvd ( legal ) copy of your Vista ?
Can you post back to see if i got this bout right as to your issues ?

Sorry for the vague post title.
I have a Dell Studio 1737 laptop that's roughly five years old, running Vista.
It's been slow for a whole now with the occasional blue screen here and there. I was running defrag the other day when I kept getting error messages regarding (apologies for forgetting the full name) Intel RAID.
The next time I turned the laptop on I was unable to load into Windows. The system repair doesn't fix any issues and System Restore gives a "Catastrophic Failure" error (0x800FFFF).
What should I be doing in this situation? Is it hard drive failure? Thanks in.

A:Unable to load Windows/System Restore

There are actually a lot of different things that could be causing problems from hard drive problems or memory/hardware problems to virus/malware and windows corruption problems.
Are you able to get to safe mode on this computer? If so the obvious is to boot into safe mode.
Do you have the ability to remove the drive and connect it to a known working and healthy computer?
If you are able to connect it to another computer:
Run Hard Drive Testing Software like Hard Drive Sentinel to get Drive Health Status (Not Free but has trial that works)
Run chkdsk on the drive from an alternate computer.
Run a virus scan from alternate computer or bootable media
Run MemTest86+ From Bootable Media on the PC the drive is/was in
After performing the above return the hard drive to the PC and attempt to boot. Does it successfully boot?
If you are still unable to successfully boot into Windows Vista do you have the Original Vista install disk or do you have a Startup Repair disk made with the Vista machine? If so then take a look at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/repair-windows-with-windows-startup-repair/

Backstory (skip if you need)
I'm fixing someones laptop, It was slow and taking 30 minutes to startup, i did the usually virus scan and restarted, then it was stuck in an auto repair loop. I used a windows 8 Install CD from microscoft. None of the options in it would work, install (key doesnt match) reset (missing partition), image recovery (cant find an image), restore (no restore point), etc.
Used command prompt, did stuff like bootrec, bcdedit, diskpart, and chkdsk. After it ran chkdsk it finally loaded windows. I reset/reinstalled the OS completely. Fixed, restarted, running smooth. Owner said it was working great for a day, then after turning it back on it was in an auto repair loop.
It's stuck in a preair loop, I can't even boot from the 8 CD! Have it configured in the bios, it shows the the blue windows logo then the screen goes black for 3 minutes and a blue screen flashes for 1 second saying "Your PC ran into a problem and need to restart. Collecting some info (0% complete) search online for error: 0x000021a"
The weird thing is, Windows 7 disks boot fine, but it's "not compatible". And if I physically remove the HDD, it will boot into the windows 8 CD. So I put the HDD back in (while still at the command prompt) and it wont take my commands in related to the C: . I get a "System cannot find the drive specified"
I also tried hooking upp the HDD to my PC SATA, it shows in explorer, but just right clicking it crashes explorer.exe. D... Read more

I got a windows 8.1 disk made and it allowed me yo boot from the CD, but it's SLOOOOW, it takes minutes to load reset or w.e (none of them still work), or open the command prompt.
I ran chkdsk /f /r /x but it didnt help. chkdsk /r ends with:
"A disk read error occurredcc0000185
Insufficient disk space to fix the Usn Journal $J data stream."
Before when I ran it, I'm pretty sure it let me restart and booted into windows, not now.
Next I tried bootrec.
/fixmbr - succesful
/fixboot - succesfull
/rebuildBCD - Total identified Windows installations: 0
/scanOS - Total identified Windows installations: 0
Next bcdedit
Nothing worked "The boot configuration data store could not be opened. The requested system device cannot be found."
Next sfc /scannow
"There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again."
"Windows resources protection didnt find integrity violations"
BCDBoot c:\WindowsFailure when attempting to copy boot files
Next diskpart - but I forgot what I did before that may have worked. All i can remember is I had to select a disk or volume, and do something with it.

I have just discovered that System Restore is unable to reset my computer to any earlier date. It goes through all the steps and on reboot says the restore was unsuccessful and I should try another date. It has done this on each restore point I have tried.
The OS is Windows XP professional with service pack 3 and all available updates.
At the moment the computer appears to be running OK so I do not envisage needing previous checkpoints but I would probably like to return to this point at some time in the future.

Hello. I have a Dell Insperon Pentium 4 3.2 1024gig memory and dont know to much more about it right now! I am a over the road trucker and that computer is at home.
The problem we are having is that we just moved to a place that is out of the cities and had to use dial up for the first time on this computer and that started a whole lot of issues. It started to log on and would blue screen and say something about a physical memory dump. I tried a bunch of stuff to no avail. So I finally did a bios restore default and it started working.
So great. But tonight my wife was having the same issue with it blue screening and i had her try the default setting thing it the bios and now its screwed up. When windows tries to start it doesnt and we get a message saying missing or corrupt file and it is the windows\system32\cofig\system. Can someone help me. I figured we could put the windows cd back into the drive but guess what we have none. So now what? Can anyone help. sorry I am so vague, but i am in new york right now and that computer is back in pine city,mn at my house. Thanks

well the blue screen issue sounds like a memory problem, if you could get your hands on another stick it would be a whole lot easier the reinstalling windows. as for not having the cd, you might be able to go to a computer store and have them install it using your cd key.

Hello -

I have followed the steps found on this site for removing the System Restore virus from XP SP3.

I ran RKill and TDSSKiller in Safe Mode as described, and they appeared to be successful. However, after rebooting via TDSSKiller app to run Malwarebytes, the PC hung up at the blue Windows XP splash screen.

I have tried to load Windows normally and via every Safe Mode option with the same result. To be clear, the first black XP screen appears when I load XP normally, and when using Safe Mode I initially see a black screen with Safe Mode in the corners, but then the PC hangs up at the second, blue XP screen that appears just before the OS should finally appear.

I also tried to boot from a XP install disc, but I got a blue screen telling me that Windows has been terminated because there was a problem.

Unsurprisingly, this event comes at a very inconvenient time. I have a deadline this week, and people are waiting on files from me. For this reason, doing a clean install of XP at the moment is not the most desirable option.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

Hello! Thank you for looking at my problem :D

I am running a Toshiba Sattelite A210 laptop with Vista (which came installed on it). The other day Windows Update installed an update and prompted me to restart my computer to finish the installation. I did so and the update went through alright, and my PC restarted fine. The next day, when I booted up my PC it wouldn't start. It got to the Windows loading screen, the black one with the little bar in the lower centre, but the hard drive sounded like it wasn't working consistently (like a skipping sound if you listen closely) and after about 7-8 minutes a mouse cursor would show up on a black screen, and then my PC would restart itself. It then loaded the Repair utility, saying that my computer was unable to start.

The Repair utility finds no errors. But, I found that if I do a system restore to just before the update, Vista boots up.

Well...this didn't fix the problem. If I turn off my PC, the next time I start it up the same thing happens again - black loading screen which takes forever, followed by a restart and the repair utility.

I have tried disabling Windows Updates completely, which doesn't seem to fix it. I've also tried the EasyBCD utility, reinstalling the Vista bootloader, resetting its configuration, and recreating all bootloader files and configs from scratch, as per its instructions. All this did was remove the repair utility from my computer, so now I have to use a boot CD to do a system re... Read more

Hi -

Do you known the Windows Update # in question? The Reliability Monitor may be of help. Also check WERCON and the Event Viewer - they may hold clues on the boot-up problem

? Problem Reports and Solutions - WERCON -
START | type wercon | top-left - "View Problem History" - 2x-click on line item provides additional info

? Reliability Monitor -
START | type perfmon /rel - view daily update activity - Windows Updates, program installs, etc...

? Event Viewer -
START | type eventvwr.msc into the Start Search box and hit enter | view the various logs starting with the Custom Views/Admin log

I wasn't really looking for it, but today I noticed that I had ~30GB of unaccounted space being taken up on my C: Drive. Right now, C: is a 70GB partition on my 400GB internal HDD. Every program I use only accounts for about 8GB of space being taken up, with 32GB of free space.

A 70GB partition, with 8GB used, should have 62GB free.. yet everything reports only 32GB of free space. I use O&O Defrag Pro as my defrag utility, so I opened it and analyzed my C: drive with it. I noticed a huge chunk of space in the report being taken up by System Restore... 30GB of space to be exact.

I then went into System Properties, and under the System Restore tab checked on the C: Drive settings. It's set to only use 12% (8400MB) of space. I then turned it down to 6% (4200MB) and checked on my C: Drive. There is now 56GB of free space, meaning System Restore is now using ~4200MB of space, which is what it's supposed to do.

My question is... what happened to allow System Restore to use nearly three times it's allotted space on my C: drive, and how can I prevent it from using so many resources in the future?

I recently did a system restore on my computer, and when it was restarting XP, it just kept going. It will get right before my log in screen, and then restart again. I know it is not a virus, but it may be related to installing Myst: Revelations somehow, seeing as how that is the last thing I installed and it will only work if I restore to the date that it was installed.

Compaq Presario V2000 laptop running XP SP3, given to me by brother after he tried a System Restore. Now laptop won't load in normal/safe/last known good. Just powercycles itself after windows logo (or mup.sys for safe mode).

Attached hard drive to my work computer. It is 100G, with only 900MB free. 30G is contained in 3 restore point folders from 2 months ago. Other RP folders are maybe 500MB each, but these three are 10G, 7G and 13G. I deleted them, and hoping the SR would complete on its own with the free space, I returned the hard drive to the laptop. No luck, same power cycling.

Tried to boot from XP CD to do a repair, but at "Loading Windows" i get error C0000221 and reference to ntdll.dll. Checked that I have hard drive fully inserted, good. Attached HD to computer and ran diagnostics, good. Replaced ntdll.dll with one from the i386 sp3 folder. Returned hard drive to laptop. Still power cycles if I try Windows, and still gives me C0000221 if I try to use the CD.

Anyone have thoughts on what I am missing? There is an adapter on the hard drive that I have to put on/take off when going from my usb connector back to its laptop, maybe I'm, putting it on wrong? I'm going to try turning it the other way, but really, anyone have some ideas? I'm stumped!!

A:system restore wont work

Hello and welcome!

Did you boot into safe mode and then try to restore your system? If you didn’t try that, please do. I have found many instances where a restore will not work in “normal” mode, but worked in SAFE mode.

In the mean time, I will locate the process or doing a manual restore by copying the most recent restore point to specific directories! I have the information here somewhere!

I'm not exactly sure what to describe about my situation so I wont waste my time decribing pop ups that might be useless, but I know i have some sort of virus, it wont allow me to do a system restore, open any of my anti virus programs, and it's re directing all my search engines. the virus is calling itself "Windows Police Pro". I restarted the pc and about 30-40 small error messages came up along with the standard 4-5 pop up "Windows Police Pro" non-sense. Any help is appreciated, if I figure it out i'll be sure to post up so that it might help another.

A:Virus Wont allow system restore

Does that sound like your problem? That sounds exactly like what happened to me. And what happened to several people who replied. Sounds like a new malware distributor's hit the block. My best advice would be to run an antivirus program after booting in safe mode. My favorite is AVG Free (free.avg.com)

A:System restore wont run plus other issues

Sounds like damage left behind by a virus.
First back up your critical data by slaving it to another computer.
Did you recently clear a virus off this computer? What anti-virus software are you using? Is it up to date? Run a full virus scan if you haven't already. That's step two.
Then try START > RUN > sfc /scannow
Error the check the drive for good measure too.
Then we'll address each problem one by one. There are registry fixes for most of these problems, such as http://www.ehow.com/how_4915809_star...n-taskbar.html

Hey everybody, the past week or 2 it seems windows explorer has been crashing a bit too much, you know when the icons and taskbar disappear then few seconds later reappear. Anyway I did a few different virus scans, and it didnt find nothing, either did spybot.

So I decided to just see if system restore would fix this, but for some reason system restore wont work. I've tried numerous restore points, but when windows restarts it says "system restore incomplete" and that my computer couldnt be restored to that date. WTH is that about?? I've never had a problem using system restore before.

Few weeks ago I remember using the "disk cleanup" feature and deleting all resore points except for the most recent, I dont know if that makes a difference. Anyway im running XP home P4 2.0ghz, let me know what you think.

Hi before I tell you my problem here is a few info I know off the top of my head about my laptop. Its about 3 years old and a Toshiba. I have windows vista and its 2GB. I install Avast and a couple other anticirus programs thinking they could help but it just seemed to get worse. My computer will not even go to safe mode or system restore. I tried going into command prompt and reinstalling my windows CP disc(a friend gave me vista). When I try to install D: drive with install.EXE a pop up error comes up saying that windows 7 Microsoft visuals 2008 can't read it or something like that. I was wondering if I will have to get a new computer or if there is a way to get visual studios off to see if I can redownload. Thanks in advance. Also step by step things would be nice.

A:need help computer wont even system restore

I'm kind of at a loss but..
You can't boot into safe mode or do a system restore? What errors or behavior do you see ie do you get an error message or a blue screen or does the screen freeze. You can't boot into windows, right. I'm guessing that you thought these symptoms were caused by a virus? Which it could very well be.
Visual Studios is installed but not working? Are you planning to do some programing? I'm confused.
Command prompt from windows or from Advanced Options for System Recovery? Windows cp disc?
A friend gave you a vista disc? Are you planning to reinstall Vista using your friends disc?
I'm thinking you'd like to just start all over with a fresh install of vista?
If you have the original partitions.
Back up any data you might want if you can get to it Using an external hdd.
If you can't boot into windows use a Live cd to access the hdd such as Ubuntu
After you've saved what you can
Start the laptop while pressing the Zero key this should get you into Toshiba's recovery partition just choose the factory recovery option and follow the instructions your machine will restart several time just wait until it's completely done.

I hope I'm not confusing matters further

My F1, (or HELP fromthe start button) wont open the help page any longer. The INternet Explorer windows shows up (the one with the blue "I" and says "This page can't be displayed".
Also, System Restore won't work either. (System Restore goes through all the steps of restoring to a prior date, and then after the restart, a message states that the restore was unsuccessful. (Yes I have it enabled) I use SR all the time. This all started 2 days ago after I started to download a screensaver. All kinds of junk was installed onto my computer, most of which I have deleted, but possibly some thing is left that causing my computer to act up?

I posted in windows 95/98/ME (System restore wont work at all? I think I downloaded a virus?) to see more details. I did get a little help there, but figured Security was the right place to post this. I did contact McAfee tech support and was not helped at all. They just told me to disable the "Suspicious Script" alert and my problems would be resolved, NOT. In my view, all that did was turn off the suspicious script warning. (thats another issue entirely I know)

I was told that Tony Klein could possibly help me? Are you out there Tony. I need a bunch of help on this one.

Thanks for anyone who can help.

I have a windows XP system at work in which I needed to run a 16 bit application that somehow one of the Windows updates stopped from running.
Well what I did was uninstall a few of the windows hot fixes and updates and finally did a system restore to a few weeks back.
The result is now that my computer boots, but when I click the log on name I get a desktop background with nothing and I can hear an error sound. Then a window pops up telling me C: contains no programs or something.
I'm wondering how I can get this system back. I beleive my data must still be there, is there a way to unrestore? should I try safe mode?
Or must I remove the hard drive and copy the data and reinstall everything?
Thanks in advance.

Hey folks,
I picked up the systemcare rouge virus a couple days ago on my pc. I immediately tried a system restore, but when it rebooted it gave me a failure message. Using my laptop and a data stick I ran malwarebytes, spybot S&D and hitman pro on the computer as well as rkill. However, I still cannot get on ie or run a sucessful system restore. I tried resetting some settings using the command prompt and sucessfully got online for less than a minute before I got booted off again. I no longer have the pop up systemcare warning, but I apparently have lingering issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, my computer didn`t come with a vista disk.
