Couldn't find a category for my question, it is about HDMI

Q: Couldn't find a category for my question, it is about HDMI

I need help with my computer because it doesn't have an HDMI port. I had no idea that it didn't have one until I needed it. When I bought it, I figured that all new computers had one so it wasn't even a thought.

I have seen the converters for USB to HDMI but they are a little pricey. I was wondering if there is a cheaper way such as a device similar to a google chromecast that could mirror my computer screen onto my TV instead of only using apps. Or maybe a cord that would work, anything.

I am a college student and was hoping to be able to stay under $30.
The picture of my computer is attached.

Thank you.

Preferred Solution: Couldn't find a category for my question, it is about HDMI

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Couldn't find a category for my question, it is about HDMI

What's the complete model number of your HP all-in-one?
What's the exact part/product number(P/N) on it?

It's too bad you bought a HP all-in-one instead of a HP desktop.
If a desktop doesn't already have a HDMI port integrated into its motherboard, having one allows you to install a graphics card which has a HDMI port.

I'm not familiar with USB-To-HDMI converters, so someone else will need to address that.

So, here's the deal. I regularly submit rouge software to malwarebytes taken from machines from where I work, which is a local PC repair shop. Normally I see java exploits and rouge antiviruses, very few botnets/trojans and other "heavier" gauge malwares. I am quite adept at software and hardware troubleshooting, and an advanced windows\linux admin.

I've tried re-tracing steps by setting up a secure environment to monitor how a rouge works and building simple batch files to repair changes made to the registry, file system, MBR, and Windows\system32\drivers folders to make my job easier. Naturally, I've started using programs like OllyDebug to attempt reverse engineering through self-taught methods.

For whatever reason, I can never seem to infect my own test machine, even with outdated browser/windows/java and going to the rouge hotspots. I have yet to reach Malware Hunter status on MWB forums, so I cannot access already submitted files.

I am not asking anyone to post links on this thread, as that could potentially endanger unintentional users, but rather to have any good sources for acquiring malware/virus samples in a PM. Any advise anyone may have is more then welcome

A:Not infected, but this was the closest category I could find

Check your PM

That site provides large amount of malware samples

good luck

We were having problems with 4 workstations that was in office #1, the Server and 5 workstations are in office #2. I felt it was due to wiring problems in that part of the building so we had surge protectors installed on the light pole, and I put the 4 workstations on power backups/surge protectors, that was about 4 months ago and no more problems until Friday.
Friday the electric went out and right back on, the machines in office#1 with the power backups did not go down.
I installed new Anti Virus software on all 9 computers which required the computers to restart. which was fine.
Monday morning all computers found the workgroup and connected to the Server except one of the 4 computers in office #1
It could not find the path to the server which also meant it couldn't connect to the internet.
I put a new adapter in , it was blinking green and the switch showed the cable as green.
I put the adapter in a different slot.
I reset the power backup/surge protector
I tried to ping from it to the server
I tried to ping from another workstation to the problem machine
I connected it to another cable that I knew was working
I finally gave up and ordered another computer
Today the electric went off again and right back on
Her computer is now able to find the server and join the workgroup
what could possibly be the reason??
All the computers were bought at the same time and are identical. Sys with AMD 3200 processors, windows 2000 pro, 40gb harddrives, 1 gb memory

Just tried reinstalling and lm getting "CDBOOT: Couldn't find BOOTMGR" which lm very confused about.

my specs should be as stated in my profile.

lm not exactly having any system problems as such just a minor freeze on closing Firefox but since its been a year l thought it was time for some early spring cleaning, lve also not seen any BSODs either.

lve looked around and tired one or two things, like changing boot priority etc and using a PS2 keyboard but l still get the error.. nothing whatsoever has changed since install apart from that its now a year old, lm even using the same backup disk, lm just wondering if there is anything lm missing because this issue is really confusing me

I will give you a brief description of my problem so you can better understand my problem.
My dad had a working non problematic computer until i tried to clean his Cpu fan. When i tried to unplug cpu fan, it came off with the Cpu itself which should be locked on motherboard. I don't know which one is broken but we have lots of old computer components like that.
My problem is when i tried to use existing HDD with another computer, it didn't boot and gave me BSOD and restarts. I couldn't read the error, plus i couldn't change the settings to cancel restarts after crash because i couldn't boot windows.
I have no problem with formatting the HDD and do a clean install but my dad said he had done a lot of customization so he wants me to make backup settings and files. Windows has this great feature but this options is available under windows but i couldn't boot the windows.
I tried to boot from Win Xp Cd and perform a repair install but there was no repair install option available. So i loaded the recovery console and recreated boot.ini file and used commands like fixmbr or fixboot but i couldn't make the windows boot.
Anyways, i could still reach this HDD when i connect to other PC's. I performed scandisk like maintenance, nothing happened. For last option , i looked up on the web for software that backups setting and files like "Windows Settings and Files Transfer" program, all i could find is programs which only backs up b... You probably burnt the DVD wrong and made a data disk.

You need to burn it as .iso instead.

Remove the startup entry for "damlg.dll".

1. Start Orb (Window flag on lower left).
2. Type "msconfig" in the caption box (without the quotes).
3. Select "msconfig.exe" from the list.
4. Go to the "StartUp" tab.
5. Scroll the list to the "damlg.dll" entry and uncheck it.

Whats also interesting is when I reboot to MSDOS when I try to navigate to the D: it says invalid drive.

What do you guys think it could be? bad cd rom drive, messed up HD?

any ideas would be appreciated.

A:(XP) cd boot: couldn't find ntldr Error!

I searched forums and MS knowledge base for "inaccessible boot device" error 0x00000007b and found a few comments that didn't address my problem.

I just upgraded a computer (new gigbyte motherboard, Athalon processor, 256 ram, ge force video card) Kept hard drive, dvd/cd-rom, floppy, powersupply.

Set up bios to auto check HDD. Finds HDD with specs.(i.e cap.cylinder, head, landing, sector)

HDD on primary IDE - checked jumper config, etc. Saved and booted. System goes to Win2000 "checking files" screen, then gives me the stop error. It says something about changing hard drive controllers, check viruses etc.

It's got to be a simple thing. I'm not finding a place to change BIOS specs to make HDD compatible. Also, I don't have a chance to update drivers that came with mother board. If I find a way will it solve the problem?

Thanks Tech Guys!

Hey guys, I'm trying to install Windows 8.1 core x64 onto an Acer e1-510p laptop with a new ssd and setup can't find the drive. I tried loading the chipset drivers from acer on a usb and setup still doesn't recognize it. The weird thing is I have a modified 8.1 pro x64 disk laying around (not sure who put it together) which finds the ssd and installs with no problems! I only have a key for core edition so I've been stuck here for a while. I can only guess the pro cd has some extra drivers mixed into it and would like to add them to my core image.

A:Fresh 8.1 install "We couldn't find any drives..."

Have you tried loading the drivers for your hard disk?
I may be able to help you with this issue if you can obtain the hard disk model number. It doesn't appear on Acer's website, but often times, it is the culprit.
Best of luck,
Eric Bennett

A couple days ago, I (foolishly) left Comodo on Game Mode. While listening to music from my PC in another room, I noticed an abrupt stop and ran in to find the Windows Antivirus 2012 invasion. I (thought) that I successfully removed this virus using your very helpful guide and all seemed well because it was BSOD'ing my system in normal mode and I now run fine. But now in Google, I am redirected by moon search to some random sites. It is also slowing my browser down. I have tried to use the Kaspersky TDSS Killer tool to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I hope to not have to reformat. I ran gmer and attempted to attach the file for viewing but it was listed as being too large (gulp). I can copy paste if necessary. Thanks!

Dear Sir,

I am running Windows 8 & want to upgrade to Windows 8.1 but I don't find any update in Windows Store. Microsoft says you must have KB2871389 update installed to update to Windows 8.1. I installed every update which was in Windows Update, still couldn't update to Windows 8.1. Same problem with Internet Explorer 11.

PC specs under My system.

A:[SOLVED] Couldn't find Windows 8.1 update in store

Chances are the update failed.

Please uninstall the update via Control Panel then Uninstall a Program.

After uninstalled and a restart install the update again:

Download Update for Windows 8 for x64-based Systems (KB2871389) from Official Microsoft Download Center

After yet another restart the Windows 8.1 update should be in the store.

This is really a MS EDGE question, but as there isn't a forum category for it (why on earth isn't there) I will ask it here in the IE 11 forum. Has anyone written a script, extension or plugin that will allow me to search through my extensive favorites collection?
Is there an app that can accomplish this almost universal service in every other browser?  I try to use the browser native to the OS I'm using. I have looked in other MS support forums and not an answer to be found about this. Several iterations
of this very basic question have gone unanswered for almost 3 years.  Is MS
trying loose customers? Any suggestions?  Any idea about why there isn't a forum category for EDGE. When it launched, it looked as though MS was sincere about maintaining a net browser, but they also acted as though they were going to
make, sell and support mobile phones, but we all know what happened with that.  Any answer at all regarding these questions would be greatly appreciated.

A:Please Help Me Fix This Bleeping Error: Sorry, We Couldn't Find Http://ad.yieldmanager.com/st%3fad_type.

"ad.yieldmanager.com" is spy/ad/malware and this sounds like the remnant from a botched removal.

So right from the top, I'd suggest installing and using Spybot Search and Destroy. Be sure to run it in safe mode (without networking).

I'd also run a full antivirus scan -- from safe mode -- for good measure to be sure your machine not infected with anything.
