Changing the Date format for current DATE Column

Q: Changing the Date format for current DATE Column

I want to format the date of Share Point list, I don't want to create Calculate formula column to format the date because. We cant change the existing date in Calculate formula date.
For Example
Existed date : 12/8/2018. here
Calculate date : 12 Aug 2018
We cant edit the calculate date, but we can edit the Existed date.
While displaying the Calculate date it is disabling the Calculate date.
I want to change the date of Existed date and format into calculate date.
"Here I have two question
1. Can we format the Existed date.
2. I know it is not possible to edit the Calculate date. But just asking any possibility is their to edit it."

Hey guys,
I have a question about coding and setting an excel file to send emails. I am using an excel file to track maintenance work orders and I would like to get an email each day for each work order that is requested to be finished on that days date. I have attached the excel file I am using, and the column that is important is C, "Date Needed" - If that date is today's date, the cell turns red and I would also like to get email notification about it. A separate email for each cell that matches today's date.

Also, if possible, I would like for it to look at all the sheets, not just the current month's sheet. For example, if a work order was filed in July but wasn't needed until September, I would still like to get the email reminding me that it needs to be finished on xx date in September.

I have attached the excel file I want to use.

I have searched all over this forum and others and have found many posts similar to this, but I am not a great manipulator of code, so I cannot get any of the other solutions to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I got a Refurbished Dell Latitude D600 Laptop from ebay yesterday on Tuesday, September 26th 2017, It had Intel Pentium M (Non-Centrino) and Windows XP Pro SP3, but when i boot it up, it resets to The Default BIOS Date, can someone help me?

A:Dell Latitude D600 Current Date Resets to The Default BIOS Date

The coin cell battery on the motherboard that keeps time while the system is powered off is probably dead. Not too surprising given that the D600 is about 15 years old at this point. If you open the system up, it should be easy to find, so just note the type of battery, e.g. CR2032, and then buy that type of battery at any grocery/convenience store. Should only be about $2-3.

I'm working on a spreadsheet that lists monthly recurring expenses. I have one cell on the sheet listing the current date (using the "=Now()" formula), but I'd like to have the other cells change at certain times throughout the month.

For example, if one cell currently says "April-15", when the actual date reads "April-16", the respective cell would change to "June-15". This way, whenever the spreadsheet is viewed the next recurring payment date will be seen.

I know this is the wrong tool for something like this - I'm using SharePoint at the office with a calendar list with workflows that shoot off emails in a much better put together format - but this is just for home use and I'd like to keep it all in one document if possible.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A:Excel 2010: Cell Date Change with Current Date

The way I read it was that you have fixed recurring payment dates, so you just want to know the next date based on the day today. Hope the attached might assist.
You need to list the payment dates somewhere and then the formula looks up the next date. You might want to look up today plus 1 (or something) to reflect the fact that if the next payment date is today, there's a good chance you'll not get any unplanned payments on that run.

I know, there are lots of threads/info out there on the topic, but none (that I've found) have addressed my problem.

I'm simply trying to figure out how to display the time and date on my taskbar, without the day of the week. I don't want my taskbar 3 "levels" high in order to see the date. Why can't I just drag it over so its wider rather than taller? Sorry I'm frustrated, hopefully there is a way to do this, but Windows sure doesn't make it easy.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Greetings, and thanks in advance for your help..

Awhile back I formatted my Windows 10 PCs to show ddd dd-mmm-yyyy on my taskbar clock. This worked happily on my desktop and laptop for months, maybe even a year +

Now (probably starting in the past couple days, if not today), on one of those two PC's, this format will no longer display. It is Okay on the other PC.
What has changed that the taskbar clock space used to expand to fit the "short date" format, but now it will no longer expand - and instead just refuses to display the date at all. (NOTE: I've verified the issue by testing shorter formats -- short formats, like "ddd" show up correctly. Only if you request a longer format will the date not display - evidently because it is too long for the clock area. )

Additional Notes that may help:

* "Working" pc is running build 10586 PC with too small a clock space that won't expand -- Build 14393

*Other differences: Notification/Action center Icon is left of clock on the working PC - Right of clock on the non-working
Right- Clicking on task bar gives "properties" option on working PC -- But "Settings" option on the non-working

( I don't want to prejudice responses - but clearly the implication to me is that some recent OS update is most likely the culprit.)

Thank You

Hi! Does anyone know what is the format of the date in the field "(battery) Manufacture Date" informed by Lenovo Vantage (Hardware Configuration > Energy)? It seems not to follow Windows setting. In my case, it is set to Brazilian Portuguese DD/MM/YYYY, but there is not a leading "0" in the returned value (see attached image). Does it really disregard the Windows setting and presents it in a fixed format (maybe American English)? When was my battery manufactured (Oct. 07 or July 10)?Thanks in advance.

Help! I am using a Seagate Central 4TB NAS drive attached to my router via Ethernet. It has been working fine so far for all kinds of file activities. But whenever I modify a file in one of its folders, the creation date for the file also updates and is
changed to the same time as the new modified date.
Maybe relevant details:
I can move/copy folders to the drive and they maintain their created dates.
It happens for both a private user share on the NAS and for the Public share on it.
It happens for at least image files and text files.
I am able to edit files across two computers on the network just fine, the create date stays the same.
This happens from a new Windows 10 machine and Vista machine both.
I notice sometimes the date created seems to stay same until I access the file the next time.
I can't update the NAS firmware because of error.

Hi all,

I'm new to Windows 7 (Home Premium 32-bit) and I just can't figure out what's going on here! Basically I want my short date format to be dd/mm/yyyy (UK format) e.g. 05/11/2010, but when I key a date into Excel 2002 it is appearing as 05 11 2010. In Control Panel I have the short date format set to ddd dd/MM/yyyy and the example is shown as Fri 05/11/2010, but in Excel all the date formats are shown with space separators, e.g. 14 03 2001! I don't think it's an Excel problem though as in Windows Task Scheduler the dates are shown with spaces there e.g. '19:25 on Mon 01 11 2010'. The date by the clock though is shown correctly with slash separators!

I know in Windows XP you can select the date separator from a drop-down list, but this option seems to be absent in Windows 7. Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International in the registry, sDate was set to a space, but changing that to a slash (and rebooting) didn't fix the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas please what's wrong and how to fix it?

The option you're after is controlled from within Excel. If you right-click the cell(s) in question you can select 'format cells' and under 'Date' you can select the desired format.

Hi Steven,
Thanks for the post!
When you set the Short date to ddd dd/MM/yyyy, the date by the clock is shown with slash, however, the date in Task Scheduler doesn’t show the slash. This behavior
is by design. When you double click the time and the trigger tab (for example) in task scheduler, the details are shown with slash.
When you change the Short date to dd/MM/yy, the date in the Task Scheduler and the clock become the same.
For the Excel date problems, I recommend you ask this question in

I have piece of code in C# to change the system date and time format through registry. And the code is working fine in Win 8.1 and other OS version but not in Win 7 version. I try to do it manually into the registry by changing the below values but still
the format is not reflected in the Date and Time.
Also I noticed that when I change the format manually in the Short Time in the "Region And Language" it doesnot change in the Date and Time shown in task bar , but its working fine when I change it for Long Time format manually.
Is it because of any User level permissions required or anything settings to be enabled/disabled to change these values?.

RegistryKey rkey = Registry.CurrentUser.OpenSubKey(@"Control Panel\International", true);
rkey.SetValue("sShortDate", "dd/MM/yyyy");
rkey.SetValue("sShortTime", "HH:mm");
rkey.SetValue("sTimeFormat", "HH:mm");

I live in the United Kingdon and use dates in the short date format dd/mm/yyyy. I have an application that works perfectly with Windows XP and Windows Vista when you change the date format on a machine in the "Regional and Language Options" of the "Control Panel" the dates display properly in the application.The application was developed with Delphi 2009, I believe, in case this makes any difference.When run under Windows 7 all the date fields show up in US format (mm/dd/yyyy) even though all the regional settings, etc. have been set correctly on the machine. Furthermore, running the application in either the Windows XP or Windows Vista emulations does not cure the problem.Is there a known issue about this in Windows 7 or/and does anyone have any ideas?Thank you

Thank you for your update.
Considering the issue is related to application developing, it is still recommended that you contact Delphi support or our MSDN forum for further investigation. This should be more efficient.

I am changing a current report we do from excel to access. I have a column for sales for the day, sales for the same day last week, week to date sales, month to date, and year to date sales. I have a form which i enter the sales date into, it runs the queries and puts them into the report.

Right now, I have to enter the parameter for the beginning of the week date too. I am trying to make it automatically enter the beginning of the weeks date (Monday) based off of the one date that I enter.

The way it figures the month to date is from queries for each month Example( >=#6/1/2010# And <=[FORMS]![REPORT DATES]![ZZZDATE])

Week to Date = (>=[FORMS]![REPORT DATES]![WKDATE] And <=[FORMS]![REPORT DATES]![zzzdate])

How do I make it find the beginning of the week, without having to enter the parameter?

I am using Access 2003 on Windows XP.

A:Week to Date Sales Column

I almost missed this question as it does not have Access in it's title.
You can calculate the Monday's date based on the Curent Date on the Form and use that in the Query's Criteria.
You can also use the
between #6/1/2010# And [FORMS]![REPORT DATES]![ZZZDATE])
in the query

I have created a macro that filters information and have created a submacro that updates information after the macro runs. Here is the submacro:

Sub macro1()

If Range("L" & MY_ROWS).Value = "CANCEL" Or IsDate(Range("L" & MY_ROWS)) Then

End If
If Range("L" & MY_ROWS).Value = "N/A" Or IsDate(Range("L" & MY_ROWS)) Then
Rows(MY_ROWS).Hidden = True
End If
End Sub

What I need now is to add a column in front of A1 and calculate a new date, which would be the date in column L minus two days. Is this possible or would I need to have column A blank 1st rather than inserting a new column? By the way, column A already has data.

Thanks for your help.

BC friends,I have a couple of esoteric questions to ask of Windows gurus. Your advice may help me correct a couple of annoying Windows XP S2 behaviors.1) SECURE/NONSECURE error msg which interrupts browsing and thinking flow constantly. It seems like about 1/3 the time when I click to go to a new URL, I get interrupted by a dialog Y/N message box, displaying the message:-----------"This page contains both secure and nonsecure items.Do you want to display the nonsecure items?"-------------After about the 2,000th time of being interrupted, I'm becoming neurotically irritated about this! Hi,For your first question do this to eliminate the warning message:When you get the error message, click YesIn Internet Explorer, go to Tools--> Internet Options--> click the Security tab--> In "Select a zone..." window make sure Internet is selected--> Click Custom Level--> Scroll down about half way to "Display mixed content" in the Miscellaneous section. Change it from Prompt to Enable.Click OK, Yes, and OK. In Firefox, I guess the following would work:Go to Tools--> Options--> Security--> In 'Warning Messages' at the bottom, click 'Settings'--> Untick the last box to the left of: 'I'm about to view an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information'--> ok--> okI don't know about SlimBrowser because I have never used it.I am not sure about your second question, so I'll leave it to someone else.As for your last question, I am not clear about the Active X error message. Gregarious greetings,

I work as a .NET Developer. I work on a Windows 7 PC that has Virtual PC/Windows XP mode.

My C# code in the Visual Studio 2005 Win app on the Virtual PC successfully bolds dates on a System.Windows.Forms.MonthCalendar control based on certain logic that pertains to the data in the SQL Server 2008 table. On the Virtual PC/Windows XP mode, when today's date (the current date) should be bolded and I run the app and open the MonthlyCalendar control, the current day 13 (for 13-SEP-2011) is shaded dark blue with the 13 in white font and when I click to a different date the dark blue shading disappears and the 13 becomes bolded in black like the other bolded dates for the month of September 2011. All is fine in the Windows XP mode.

When I install the installation file for this Windows application on the Windows 7, I run the app and open the MonthCalendar control. The 13 (for today, 13-SEP-2011) has a light blue shading and the 13 has blue font that does not look bolded like the other black bolded dates in this month. When I click to another date in this month, the 13 is not bolded like the other dark black bolded dates in this month.

I do not care at all about the Win 7/XP differences in the shading of the current date and the differences of the color of the rectangle around the current date.

I do care though that in Windows 7 the current date is not bolded when it should be.

I can provide the C# code if desired but it would seem that my C# cod... Read more

A:Current date on Windows MonthCalendar not bolding in Win 7 OS

In case this information will be helpful to anybody in the future, I finally determined the cause of the current date not bolding in Windows 7. I discovered the line of code that prevents the current date from bolding in Windows 7 even though the line of code does not prevent the current date from bolding in Virtual PC/Windows XP mode.

In the real Windows application, I searched for any code that might be the culprit and then tested in a lil? test application project. I used Visual Studio 2005 for my test application just as the real application was created in Visual Studio 2005. My review of the real app's code and my testing determined that when I comment out the following line of code in the real Windows app , the current date is bolded in Windows 7 whereas if I have this line of code the current date is not bolded in the System.Windows.Forms.MonthCalendar control in Windows 7:

this.calDate.MaxDate = System.DateTime.Today;

The name of the MonthCalendar control in this Windows app is calDate

Here is code from a lil? test app that shows how this line of code is the culprit. If you run the lil? test app with this line of code "this.monthCalendar1.MaxDate = System.DateTime.Today;" and then run the test app without this line of code on Windows 7, you will see that having this line of code prevents the current date from bolding on Windows 7. There is nothing in this Visual Studio 2005 project except a form and the MonthCalendar control on the form... Read more

Hello I´ve created a module in Access 2007 with renames a folder c:\finish\MyFolder to c:\finish\Renamed

I would like to change my code so the folder is renamed to the current date (DD-MM-YYYY)

How can I do this?!? here´s my code:
Sub ShowFileAccessInfo()
Dim fs, f, s
Set fs = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Set f = fs.Getfolder("C:\finish\MyFolder")

f.Name = "Renamed"
s = s & "New Name: " & f.Name & vbCrLf
s = s & "Created: " & f.DateCreated & vbCrLf
s = s & "Last Accessed: " & f.DateLastAccessed & vbCrLf
s = s & "Last Modified: " & f.DateLastModified

MsgBox s, 0, "File Access Info"

End Sub

A:Solved: Rename folder to current date

I am trying to create job status sheet, and I want the current date to show whenever a cell or row is added.

For example, If I put a job number in B2, I want the date(year, month, day) to show in cell A2 automatically. The IF formula is only formula I can think to use.

A:Solved: Using the IF formula to show current date

Just put the formula =Now() in the target cell. And each time the worksheet will be recalculated the formula will be updated, so no need in and if function.

Would like to use a "Spread Element", but not sure how to program it to give current date and time.

A:Need to add a "Current Date and Time" stamp on Imposition sh...

Found the solution. Added this code: «#JobName»to the Spread Element.Indd that is assigned in the imposition.I also had added a current date; under Type/Text Variables I added month/day/year, andI added the sheet counter from the Data Fields/Counters/Sheet Counter. Works great. Saved as a master to automatically assign these three itemsto each sheet of any imposition without having to add varable columns to the database. Hope this is helpful to others.

I am trying to design a query where only records with the current date are printed. When I put <Now() in the criteria of the query for some reason records with today’s date and less than today’s date are printed When I put >Now() only records greater than are printed, when I put =Now() I get nothing. I would appreciate any input thanks.

A:ACCESS - Query base on current date

=NOW() means RIGHT NOW, not TODAY, which is what you want.

=now() is 10:29 EST on 10/3/2001 (at least right now it does, LOL)

=today() is 10/3/2001

I am setting up a spreadsheet for the year and want to use it year over year. I have the cell set up with the date (1/1/2011) with a format of d so that it displays the date as Sat, 1/2/2011 - Sun, etc. Since I want to use this year after year with minimal work and I want to highlight the cells that are equal to Sat and Sun, how would I set up that formula. I tried the basic =A1="Sat" and without quotes but it just returns #NAME. I know working with dates in formulas is different but can't figure out what I need to use.

I am using following batch file for cleaning the desktop and also for taking backup of desktop:

@echo off

set curr_date=%DATE:~10,4%-%DATE:~4,2%-%DATE:~7,2%

mkdir "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\backup\%curr_date%_backup"

xcopy "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop" "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\backup\%curr_date%_backup" /D/S/H/V/C/F/K/Y

for /d /r "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop" %%x in (*) do rd /s /q "%%x"
for /r "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop" %%x in (*) do del /f "%%x"

copy "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\backup\%curr_date%_backup\*.lnk" "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\"

del /q "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\backup\%curr_date%_backup\*.lnk"

In the first line I am creating a folder with current date, e.g. curr_date_backup. Second, copying the contents of Desktop to the newly created folder. Third, deleting directories from the desktop. Forth, deleting files from the desktop. fifth, Copy back all the shortcuts to the desktop. sixth, deleting all the shortcuts from Current date folder.

This batch file is working perfectly in Windows XP. It works in win 7 also but the problem is that the name of the current date folder created by first command is "Desktop". when I use command prompt to check the name, the name is correct. I checked the properties of the folder the correct is there also. But in windows the name doesn't match with the expected one.

I need help. Kindly tell me what's going on? why window 7... Read more
