Problem with toolbar fonts on programme installations and outlook page problem

Q: Problem with toolbar fonts on programme installations and outlook page problem

I hope someone can help me. I am using a new computer with Vista and have just installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 7, plus a 2000 Microsoft Home Publishing programme. Both appear to work properly, except the programmes' toolbar fonts are almost unreadable - very small. I have enlarged the actual desktop fonts, but cannot see how to enlarge these programme fonts.

I have another problem with Outlook. I cannot add alias's to my email address. I know how to do it, but when I get to Add email, the page that opens up is too large for the screen and the buttons on the bottom are not visible.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Preferred Solution: Problem with toolbar fonts on programme installations and outlook page problem

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a user who has Outlook 2003 and she is using Word 2003 as her e-mail
editor. When she tries to change the default font in Outlook it will not
stick after she closes out of the program. If she does not close out, she is
able to send e-mails using the new font. I had her try and deselect the
option to use Word as her e-mail editor but that did not work. Is there
another way around this? When she does not use Word as her e-mail editor,
her signature file is not formatted correctly. She is using HTML formatting for her e-mail and there does not appear to be any problem with Word.

Any help would be appreicated

A:Problem wiith Fonts in Outlook 2003

It will not "stick" because she is not setting it as her default font. Compose a new message, place the cursor in the body of the message and go to Format > Fonts. There should be a button labeled "Default", this will change the default font to whatever she wants.

I have a user who is using Office 2003 on Win Xp pro.

The user is composing an email - which has a font of say Arial 10, and then they copy some text from a MS Word document where the font is Times New Roman 11 - and paste that onto the email.

Now they want to change all the font on that email onto the same - say Arial 10.

However, when they change it from the toolbar; it doesnt get reflect - i.e the different fonts dont get changed.

what should I do?

I have set up Outlook to use Word as my email editor. Every time I go into Outlook to send a new email, I find that my Standard and Formatting toolbars have moved down the screen and I have to drag them up. If I don't drag them up, they move down a bit more for each new email sent.

Yesterday I sent an email when the toolbars were near the bottom of the screen and I only had room for one text line. The next time I went to send an email, I had no toolbars and no text area at all. Trying to resurrect the toolbars from the View menu did not work either. When I went into Word, I found the same situation - no toolbars and no way of getting them back.

I have overcome the problem by not using Word as my email editor for Outlook. (I am using Office 2000 with Windows95).

Anybody got any ideas how I can use Word as my email editor and get my toolbars to stick at the top of the screen?

I found the answer to my question. Thought I would post it here just in case someone else wants to know. Found at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;329912

This article was previously published under Q329912
When you click a hyperlink in Outlook 2000:
Microsoft Internet Explorer may start, and the Internet Explorer Address box may be empty.
A Locate Link Browser dialog box may appear.
To resolve this issue:
Click Browse in the Locate Link Browser dialog box.
In the Locate Link Browser dialog box, locate the Iexplore.exe file, click it, and then click Open. By default, this file is located in the c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer folder.

NOTE: You may have to search your hard disk for this file.
Test to determine if the issue is resolved. If the issue is resolved, do not complete the remaining steps. If the issue is not resolved, you may experience a new symptom in which two windows open. When this occurs, one window displays the correct link and one is empty. If you experience this new symptom, go to the next step.
Double-click My Computer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
Click the File Types tab.
Under Extension, locate the "N/A" entry, and then locate the "URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol" entry under File Types.
Click Advanced.
Under Actions, click Open.
Click Set Default, and then click OK two times.

Good Morning,

I had some errors that are now causing me problems with Microsoft Outlook 2000. Initially the program crashed during the middle of my composing a letter. The next time that I opened up I then had two errors with add-ins not being found: OUTLVBA.DLL and SBCMSYNC.DLL. I corrected both of those by getting a replacement outlvba.dll from one of my other computers, and getting rid of the Outlook Sync option under Tools, Advanced Options (apparently sbcmsync.dll if from the Small Business Contact Manager).

That all seemed to work fine for a few minutes of e-mail before the program suddenly started having problems sending e-mails. I then did a detect and repair within Outlook, ran scandisk on my system, etc. with no luck.

So right now I am able to receive messages, but when I compose or send a message it is crashing with a message of "Outlook caused an invalid page fault in module MSVCRT.DLL at 0167:78012eOe".

Any ideas as to what the problem is? If not is there a good way to backup everything and completely reinstall Outlook from scratch and still get back my data?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I hope this is a simple fix.

I initially installed windows 7 64-bit onto a brand new hard disk (in a brand new built PC). I did so using the windows 7 DVD, and created two partitions, one for the OS and one for data. The installation was successful with no problems. Windows showed C: drive for the OS and D: for data.

For various reasons after a few days I then needed to remove Windows 7 and install windows XP. So I booted with the XP disk and the setup showed me 3 partitions in total including the windows 7 "system" partition. In the XP setup I deleted that partition, and the main OS partition. I left the data partition alone. I created one new partition in the space and installed XP onto that. The installation was succesful, I had C: and D: drives in windows.

Again for various reasons I now wish to return to Windows 7 (permamently!). So I booted with the Win 7 disk and the setup showed two partitions. I selected to format the C: partition (the one with XP on). I then selected to install Windows 7 on that partition.

Upon completion of the install it is clear that a legacy of either XP or the earlier Windows 7 is causing a few issues. Firstly on boot up the boot manager screen appears asking if I would like to boot to "windows 7" or "earlier version of windows". I select Windows 7, and then once in windows, only disk C: is shown in explorer. If I go into disk manager, I can see the other partition and I can enable it but in the list of... Read more

Before we make any specific recommendations will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have going on as there may be a fairly simple way to resolve the situation.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a snip of that.

A:Problem with two XP installations

This behavior is controlled by a text file named boot.ini.

Start your computer using the choice that allows it to boot properly. Then go to Start, Run, and type msconfig then click OK.

In msconfig, click the BOOT.INI tab, then click the Check All Boot Paths button. You should see an error that one is invalid. Click Yes to remove it.

Highlight the remaining line below Operating Systems, then click Set As Default. Click Apply, then OK to exit msconfig. Then reboot your computer.

Good morning all,

I have an issue with Outlook on a Vista Business PC. As the thread title suggests, I would like to print a specific page of an email. I have attached a screen shot of the only options I have when I press print. Printing all odd or all even is not sufficient enough... Do I have this issue because I am not running SP2? My computer (a work PC) has not been updated since 2008...

Thanks for any help!

A:Outlook 2007 'Print a page or part of an e-mail message' problem...

It is possible the printer driver will simply never offer what you need in Outlook.

In order, you should try (1) update Vista to SP2 (2) apply any updates to outlook (3) update the printer driver.

If none of those help, try using an alternative printer, or at the least a different type of driver for the printer (you could try a postscript driver for example).

Hi there

I recently downloaded software from www.live365.com, an internet radio website.

The problem is that I can't install it!

When I double-click on the file (setup_studio-1.2.exe), I get the following message:

Cannot find file E:........\setup_studio-1.2.exe (or one of its components). Check to ensure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available.

I've checked with the website that I downloaded the file from and they insist that the problem is my side and the software is fine. I've tried downloading it more than once, but it happens every time.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 - could the problem be with that?

I have several programmes listed in "add/remove programmes" that show no programme size and when I click on them they are greyed out and I am unable to do anything with them. I would like to remove them but don't now know how to do it. Can anybody give me any advice please.

Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE). Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Uninstall. Click on the [+] next to Uninstall and a branch will expand under it, revealing all of the applications currently listed under Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs. Simply highlight any unwanted entries (with a single left-click) and hit Delete. One note about looking for your application in the Registry. It may not have the same name you see in the Add/Remove Programs dialog. If you're unsure about which entry to delete, you can usually click on a likely suspect in the list in the left pane to see a more thorough description in the right pane,

I recently bought a new computer and have now installed 2 operating systems after i keep having the same problem,

The problem im having is that anything to do with wireless will not work, for example i have a speedtouch 121g usb adapter which i installed the drivers for and i know works perfectly, but everytime i load the programme to change the settings, it closes autimatically, ive tried this with a couple of other different wireless adapter programmes.

For some reason everything but this works fine, i had the same trouble on xp 32 bit, and im now running vista ultimate 64bit on it and its doing the same thing?

So in conclusion the problem im having is that it wont recognise the hardware and it wont let me open the software for longer than a second!

has anyone heard anything like this at all??

any help will be greatly appreciated,

A:*problem With Nero Burning Programme*

Well, I'm not sure I see where Nero is at fault so far.

You are burning VCD format video disks on CD-R media, correct? Many older DVD drives don't recognize VCD disks, I had to go through a couple before I found one that recognized all media formats.

Can you play the disk on any DVD player, have you tried newer models that specifically support VCD format?

Also, if you burn them onto CD-RW disks, they're generally not as universally compatible.

I recently purchased and installed an AMD Radeon HD6570, as well as a new 500-watt power supply. Ever since installation, my computer has had troublesome times connecting via ethernet. It should be noted that I switched to AMD from an Nvidia GPU, which is the stock card for my system.

At first, I received the error message "Windows was unable to automatically detect this networks proxy settings". IPv4 was receiving an internet connection, but IPv6 wasn't.

I thought it might have been an ISP issue with the university I attend, but now the LAN adapter is completely unable to recognize a plugged in ethernet cable. It's not a problem with the cable or ISP, because other computers are able to connect using the same port and cable. Even the little green light that flashes around the ethernet port on the back of my computer has stopped flashing.

I downloaded the most updated driver for my network controller (Intel 82562V-2) and used some of the newer features to test my LAN device out. The hardware and cable tests returned a success, but my connection failed.

There was also another device called "PCI Simple Communications Controller" without any installed driver to run it. But most online results said this was a minor issue.
EDIT: The missing "PCI Simple Communications Controller" turned out to be a Systems device called "Intel Management Engine Interface". I found the correct driver for the device by looking up its vendor/devic... Read more

On windows XP professional.

I uninstalled Mcafee recently (a hell of a job let me tell you!) because it got corrupted somehow and then I tried to reinstall the new upgrade version. But something happened to the registry and some of it got corrupted as well. The system wouldn't boot up in windows so I had to do a system restore to last known good configuration. That worked, but it's left the machine limping. The problems are strange and I can't fix them and would appreciate some help from somebody who knows how to fix these things ... for one, the search option won't display when I run search. I just comes up and the screen on the left is blue, blank, with nothing in displaying. The help and support option won't run at all. And Mcafee won't install, it gets to the red box screen and then hangs with the red box blank, nothing in it. Find doesn't work in internet explorer. Java now doesn't work either. And Media player won't run, says Application Error.

Any idea what is causing these problems since the restore? I suspect the registry but I haven't a clue how to fix it.

Please help. Thanks

Forgot to mention, Cleanup won't work either, it just hangs.

I have a problem with my PC and cannot figure out where the issue is. It very well may be I numerous things that I need help with. First of all, I cannot install updates from the Windows Update site. When I try, I receive two error codes: 57A & 643. Second, I cannot install Microsoft Windows Live Essentials. When I try, I get the error code 0x80070643. Third, I cannot install Microsoft Security Essentials. When I try I get this error code, 0x8007064C.
I feel all of these are tied together in some way. I have run the Microsoft Malicious Software removal tool and it found nothing. I have run Malwarebytes and Superantispyware and they found nothing.
(Both of these programs have since been removed to install MS Security Essentials.) Right now, I have no anti-virus program installed. Avast has been removed. I'm just not sure where to turn from here. There are pages and pages of "remedies" for these error codes online, however some of them are similar, some are completely different. I don't know what to try and what's going to screw up my system even worse.

I noticed when i tried updating vista i got a 80080005 error, and i asked around for a solution i couldnt find one. I realized a had a larger problem when i could even manually install vista sp2, and other downloads that i needed such as c++ 2008 redistributable, i decided to do a system repair (not vista re installation) using my disc would help (which i have done before) I left when it was searching for a problem and when i came back there was an error, saying it could not automatically update, so i realized there was a really big problem, if anymore info is needed please help me.

A:[SOLVED] severe problem with automatic updates/installations

OK you could try this - tedious but it may help:
If you manually download an update (One of the ones that failed in Windows Update) and try to run it you should see a more detailed error message.
It will probably have something to do with your not having access permission to a registry key.
If you check the registry in the area it is complaining about you will probably find permissions need to be set.
After you set the permissions you can try re-running the update.
NOTE that it may fail again but complain about a different area of the registry - you need to keep fixing the permissions and trying until the update works - sometimes 30+ times.
There may be another way around it but I never found it. Mind you after I succeded I never experienced the Update problem again.
Hope this helps.

If your system administrator has set policies against installing programs, we will not be providing any advice to subvert them.

Ask the admins to install the programs for you, as you should.

Hello there!

Recently I bought a nice SSD SATA drive and installed a fresh Windows 7 on it but now I have 2 SATA drives with a Windows 7 on my system.

Now when I boot for some reason it boots the old Windows version (SATA drive, now E:\) on the other SATA drive unless I go into the BIOS and rearrange the boot order of the drives which is annoying since I have to do this every time.

I then get the Windows Boot Manager which let's me choose which version to start.

However, I just need the Windows 7 installation on the SSD drive (C:\) to start and would want to delete the boot records on the other drive (E:\).

Additionally I still have an old IDE drive (H:\) used as backup drive which for some reason still has Windows XP boot records also.

The C:\ drive (SSD) is working like a charm, the only thing that bugs me is the mess of boot records across all drives.

Via command promt I got this executing the "bcdedit /enum" command:

This is very confusing to me, because:

1) It's not showing the E:\ drive at all.
2) The Boot Manager is on H:\? (The old IDE drive).

How can I clean this mess up?

Thanks for reading.

This is why you should unplug all other HD's during install.

Hello out there =)

as you can see, im completely new here. But even so, i'd be very very glad for your help with my little issue with Windows Live Mail. Actually, the programme (the virus behind it) sends emails without my permission to my contacts. I am Using Sophos as an antivirus programme, which found an item called Troj/Keygen-DX. I checked google, but couldnt find anything and Sophos cant remove the problem itself. Its called "Manual removement required"... haha. Well i've heard, you guys find a logfile from hijackthis helpful sometimes.. Hope youll find something in mine, would be very thankful.

Thx in advance!

I just tried to print a PDF file on my HP deskjet 2150 printer, but it keeps crashing the Adobe Reader programme. It does the same with OpenOffice, Mozilla Firefox and any other.
Do you have any tips on how to fix this problem?

Kind regards,

A:Wanting to print a file or page keeps crashing every programme

Most likely related to print driver, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling printer may help
If printer is running off of windows default printer drivers then an sfc scan may help to check for any windows file errors
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I use Outlook Express 6. In the "Create Mail" mode, the toolbar where one selects the fonts and fonts size, B, I, U, A, and more has disappeared. Looking in my "Drafts" folder I see that I lost this particular toolbar sometime between October 6 and November 7, 2007. (I wonder whether an automatic updates did it.)
Any suggestions as to how I can get it back would be much appreciated.

Hi Everyone,

Because of failing eyesight, I work best in Windows Aero if I can change all the display fonts from Segoe UI to Segoe UI Semibold. I can do this everywhere except for the Toolbar text shown in the attached screen shot. In the lower left are my pop-up menus, created from Toolbars by "squashing" them down to single-letter titles (R,A,L,C,E,F,M); and right below the Windows Explorer menu bar is another Toolbar it would be nice to display with Segoe UI Semibold entries.

I would be pleased to pay a reasonable shareware fee to anyone who cares to provide this Toolbar modification.

Kind Regards,

A:How to Change Toolbar Fonts in Windows Aero?

Hi there, the offer for money is a nice gesture but we just like to help.

I'll be honest, I don't know of a way to do that but I do have an alternate suggestion.

What if you added an icon to those toolbars, say a different color or something like that.

What made me think of that was this tutorial,

Shut Down Computer Shortcut - Create

I used to have that as a toolbar on my win 7 machine and it was a nice big icon like explained in step 6 of option two,

I'm sure we can fix you up with some icons if want to try that.

formatted my pc other day and just put all my fonts back into the C:\Windows\Fonts folder to use in things such as word, frontpage, photoshop etc....

Started with the basic fonts with windows and now have 1139 fonts all together in that folder.

When i open a program such as word, photoshop etc... i can only use the few fonts that were there before.

Why cant i use all my new fonts ive added? They all worked before when i added them.

There is a problem with fonts in IE7 and 8.

site: http://www.google.pl/webhp?hl=pl

In IE6 or FF caption "Szukaj w internecie" or "Szczęśliwy traf" (at button) are thin.
In IE7 and 8 same captions are bolder.

I read about "ClearType" but I think in this case isn't it. Please look at footer. Links are same in IE6,7,8 and FF.

My question is what could I do (with my site css or html) to have exactly same fonts at all web browsers.

Ok, heres the story.

I downloaded this font pack containing over 3300 fonts, because i figured it would help because i am into photoshop. So, I downloaded the fonts and unzipped them, put them into my fonts folder, but now only fonts up to the letter I (including the downloaded fonts) only show up. Anyway I can set some setting so it shows all the fonts? Or if I can just delete all of the fonts I downloaded?

A:Problem With Fonts

WinXP itself doesn't have a limit on fonts, but applications should have a limit or they will stall trying to display that huge of a list. Adding fonts increases the amount of memory used and the time it takes applications to display font menus.

You could try a third party Font Viewer.

I Don't know if this one is any good-I haven't used it, just giving it as an example.
