I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey guys, I have a Lenovo Ideapad IdeaPad 100 14ibd - win10 and basically im planning on formatting my laptop to get rid of all the stuff/unknown files that are terribly slowing down my ram. But im still new to this process so im wondering if using Lenovo's Onekey recovery is a good thing but then i saw the Reset this PC feature of windows is another thing. My question is, what would be the more recommended thing i should do to get my laptop to its original state just like the new windows 10, or are there any difference within those  two?PS: I got my back up files all set from this laptop to my external hd already Thank you!

Hi

I got a 2nd hand Lenovo Ideapad 100S. It came with Win10 installed but had someone elses profile and data.
(I am not sure if it originally had Win8.1 when it was shipped, there is no rollback option anymore)

My preference is to wipe the current installation completely by downloading Win10 and installing a clean copy off USB.

I also usually prefer to delete all partitions, including recovery because future reinstallations can be done from scratch via USB. (I don't need the option of reinstalling from recovery partitions , the extra space is more important)

I see a warning in the user guide however .....
"Do not delete or modify the Recovery Partition on a WIMBoot-enabled computer. If the Recovery Partition is deleted or modified, you may not be able to restore Windows to the factory status. For computer models on which WIMBoot is enabled, deleting the Recovery Partition may cause Windows to fail to start. How can I determine whether the Windows running on my computer is WIMBoot enabled? WIMBoot technology is normally enabled on copies of Windows 10 Update running on SSD (or eMMC) -only computer models."

What is the best way to do this?

Install a clean copy and remove the partition by booting off a USB, or should I not do this?

A:Ideapad 100s - Win10 clean installation on ideapad...

 Hi larrens ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It's a good thing you posted first before proceeding with any clean installation.
Not sure what the Machine Number is to verify the details and specifications of your system.

But if you have a pc with a Windows Image Boot (or WIMBoot) you may not want to choose a clean installation.
This new deployment of installation is compressing part of a big OS file so that you can have an operating system that can only take small spaces intended for small storages (SSD).

Best option to wipe out previous owners profile is a have a fresh out of the box image is using the Puch button Factory reset (Novo key similar to Item 7 page 1). Simply shutdown the system and use the button to turn on, System Recovery option would provide One key recovery from initial backup to do it.

WIM boot are usually created thru OEM depot authorized by Microsoft . DIY for WIMboot maybe a bit complicated.
Click on underlined links for further review.

Hope this answered your query.

Hi,
I have Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK type/model 80Q700DRSC.
I want to update BIOS, so I downloaded D5CN47WW. In text file it is written that this is BIOS for my computer.
Everything seems fine but when I execute BIOS exe file it says that this is BIOS for Lenovo Paris 300 notebook!
What Paris now? I tried to google but only can find Paris in France.
I am user of Lenovo notebooks for many years (from IBM ThinkPads to this days) but when txt Readme file said
this is update for your computer, it was! This is confusing for me so I cancelled update.
Can anybody explain this mistery?
Thanks in advance

Finally, I can make a thread, and now I have Lenovo ID, a Lenovo Community Forums Account, and a Lenovo Store account; none of which work together. I tried installing Windows 7 on the Ideapad 310, but I had to turn on legacy bios in order to boot off a flash drive, but the error given on the windows 7 installer says ?Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is not of the GPT partition style?. I'd rather not wipe the disk and convert it to MBR if I don't have to. Is there a way to preserve the current partition setup and install windows 7 over the current windows 10 partition?

So I bought this Ideadpad 700 (with internal 1 TB HDD and 256 SSD) about two months ago. The Windows 10 was installed on the SSD and booted up very fast. Each restart took 10 seconds even after I installed all the software I needed. I was very happy about this. But the machine had annoyingly frequent random crashes, and I had to send it to Lenovo for repair *twice* to get it fixed.  Long story short, now the machine doesn't crash any more, but the Windows 10 is installed on the HDD insead of the SSD. Seems Lenovo found the original SSD had issues so replaced it with a new one, and somehow forgot to or decided not to install the OS on the SSD. Now each restart takes more than 1 minute, even before I install any software I need. This is painfully slow compared to when the OS was installed on the SSD. I chatted with Lenovo support online, but seems they don't want to take the machine back again to fix it. I'm thinking to move the OS from the HDD to the SSD by myself. Has anybody done something similar before? What should I pay attention to? Will I void the warranty by doing that? Thanks.

I tap it, I bash it, nothing.
All other keys (a to z, except p, 0 to 9) work fine.
I use Alt-112 to type the "p" and get into Windows.
From that point onwards, the "p" key works fine (I'm using it now!!).
It just does not work on the Windows lock screen.
Have I somehow locked my keyboard into some crazy config??

Hello Friends: I am new to this forum, but am having some issues with my Ideapad 110 (using Windows 8 and Internet Explorer), and am hoping for some input. After opening Internet Explorer, and having Google Search as my homepage, the page loads. Great. No problems.  It loads quickly and correctly. However, when I then go to any other site from the search engine, the new page minimizes momentarily to about 1/2 the correct size (coming from the upper left corner) leaving the remaining space as black as night.  Within a few seconds, the page loads to full size.  I'm including a screen shot of what it looks like. This is very frustrating going from site to site, having to wait for the page to correctly load.Is there something I've done to make it do this and if so, what can be done to remedy it? Thank-you in advance.-SherwoodBassLenovo Ideapad 110 Issue

Hello, today I purchased Lenovo IdeaPad 110 for my friend and I am supposed to put win 7 64 bit on it. I have used .iso image to create botable image using Rufus. I know that -iso image is good because I deployed in on over 30+ different brand laptops. I turn on the ideapad and set boot priority to usb first. Windows loads installer and I select the language, after that I proceed to install but it pops out a window asking me for drivers. I tried to clear and partition SSD using diskpart but without any luck, I tried to switch betwwen usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports, different usb sticks but with no luck it is always asking me for drivers (I suppose for the SSD). I can see the SSD in BIOS and in diskpart.  What to do ?  Thanks!

Hi, I have a new Ideapad 120S that I really enjoy using.  However after only a few months use it won't accept Windows 10 Upgrade. I've put very little on this machine, probably no more than maybe 500 MB of files and installed programs.  There are no movies, no downloaded music, none of that. System cleanup has been done and Recycle Bin is empty.  It keeps telling me I need to delete 8 GB of data. Say whaaaat??  I show about 2 GB free right now. It's obvious that there is space being taken up, probably by a system file, perhaps hidden. I saw a number of posts online complaining about a large file associated with an upgrade taking up valuable space on this small 32GB drive.  So, what do I do?  I like the computer.  I understand the necessity of maintaining updates to the operating system. But something is really amiss here where such a new computer won't allow O/S updates.  What's the secret to opening up the drive space?  I don't want to return it because of this.  Thanks! Ken

I installed Windows 7 x64 on my Ideapad 700-15ISK, installed all drivers downloaded from the support page but for some reason cannot get wi-fi to work. I see it in device manager (no exclamation marks anywhere), the network interface is not disabled, and yet I cannot search for any wireless networks. I am assuming that the wi-fi interface is actually hard-disabled (via the FN keys; looking at Windows Mobility Center seems to confirm this because it says "wireless off" and the "turn on" button is greyed out and disabled) but I cannot find a way to re-enable it. This article tells you how to re-enable it, but in my case nothing happens when I press FN+F5 (Lenovo utility is of course installed):https://support.lenovo.com/hr/en/documents/ht072689 I'm presuming this is because I don't have Energy Management installed since I cannot find it anywhere (it's not on the support page for the laptop). Can anyone push me in the right direction? Does anyone else have a similar problem? EDIT: the laptop has Intel wi-fi if that matters

I have tried starting in safe mode, but, although it does say (behind logo) that it is getting ready to repair the system, it still does not go any further. What can I do? If you just formatted the C:\ partition, you should still be able to recover using the NOVO button (see page 21 of the user manual) Novo Menu: ? Shut down the computer (press and hold the power button until it powers off) and wait at least five seconds.Press the Novo button using a paper clip.   The NOVO button is just forward of the USB port on the left side of the laptop (see page 6 of the user manual) to turn on the laptop and open the Novo MenuSelect System Recovery >> Troubleshoot >> Reset this PCIf successful, it will return your laptop to the factory condition just as it was when you bought the laptop. If you somehow deleted all the partitions, then you will have to do a clean install of Windows 10 either using recovery media obtained from Lenovo support for a small fee (recommended since it will restore its factory recovery/driver partitions etc.), or do a clean install of Windows 10 using the instructions from Microsoft found here. Good Luck,
