Why is Facebook Always Remembering my Log in Email?

Q: Why is Facebook Always Remembering my Log in Email?

I have the latest version of Firefox on Windows 10,

Is there anyway that I can force Facebook to not remember my email login? I have to sign out of Facebook every time. If I do not sign out and close the browser, my email is still waiting for me in the "Email or Phone" field. What I want to be able to do is be forced to type in my login email and password every time that I visit Facebook. When I close the browser, I want to see a blank "Email or Phone" and "Password" form field when I come back to the page for security reasons:

1.) I have tried saying "Never remember" this log in when clearing the Facebook website from the list of Firefox's stored websites.

2.) I have tried going through my stored sites and using the Block command in Firefox to prevent any automated login data from showing.

3.) I DO NOT WANT to clear all my cookies and cache. I am happy with remembering log in information for other sites I have saved, just Facebook's form fields I want to enter my email and password manually every time.

Is there anyway to do this? Or do I have to log out of Facebook every time or use Private Browsing if I really want both the email and password to be manually entered each time?

Preferred Solution: Why is Facebook Always Remembering my Log in Email?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi I'm new here.

My friend came over and used MSN on my PC. Now whenever I load up my PC, on the log-in screen before I log-in to Windows it remembers his email address. Under where it says Adminstrator (that's me) it says "7 unread messages" and when you hover over you can see that it's referring to my friend's hotmail account.

How can I stop my PC using his email address like this?

A friend of mine the other day logged into msn messenger on my computer. Now every time I turn on my computer and see the XP user login it shows my email and my friends email with our unread messages. How do I remove my friends info from my computer? I went to messenger and checked (forget me) on my friends email address info so nothing is there but my own. I also went to control panel>user accounts>manage my network passwords and there is nothing in the box to remove anything.

I can't figure out why my computer is getting unread mail messages from my friends account if his information is no longer on my pc. How is that possible unless my computer is still logging into his account and knowing how many unread emails he has?

Could someone help me remove this information from my computer so I only see my own account and unread mail when I log into XP?

A:My Winxp logon is remembering my friends unread messages and email address?

i will try to help you to disable this because it is very annoying lol. download this program http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx
it is from microsoft called powertoys. when you have downloaded it go to "browse to login", "unread mail and uncheck show unread mail on welcome screen" then choose the settings to whether it should apply to all user if there are more than one user and then click ok.
i could have shown you a registry key but this is safer.

I recently received a suspicious email for which I have sought, in vain, for an explanation.

The email was as follows: "(my name and a random assortment of numbers)@facebook.com was recently removed from your Facebook account. If you didn't do this, someone else may have accessed your account. We can help secure your account here:".

Clicking on it led to a facebook page which said that I had to log out to access this page. It seemed suspicious, so I changed my password.

Any ideas?

I find it troubling how I got a Facebook email to my wife that seems to know so much about us...indirectly.... And she doesn't even have Facebook (just me)... so check out the facts....You could say it is spam or virus... but I still want to know how the information is so coincidently connected?

The person in the email invite does not exist on Facebook, however it is a Story from our town in , and the invite is to my wife...and the photo is from the Paper's Article, one other person in the "other people you may know" section is a friend on MY Facebook Account ( which uses a different email address), and one person is someone my wife knows, and a third person is a lady we bought a Van from 10 years ago, and she had brief correspondance with regarding a job position.... but have not been in contact with her for over 5 years???
How can this happen?

is this the result of our personal data collected over the years and a program connecting the dots?

A few days ago I could not login to either of my hotmail or facebook accounts. I sent microsoft a message and they let me reset my password and I got my account back. A day later, the same happened again. My password, secret question and details were all changed in my hotmail account and once again my facebook account's password was also changed. I emailed Microsoft again telling them my situation and once again they sent me a reset password link and everything went back to normal. Just then, it all happened again which really started to annoy me. I ran a whole bunch of anti-virus programs and registry cleaners after I reset my password the 2nd time and yet it still happened so I'm wondering if it's something my programs aren't picking up? Can anybody please help me!!! Your help is greatly appreciated!

Can anyone help me here? While at work on June 4th, I received a message from my hotmail account, from me, asking me to send money to London where I had been mugged. Of course I was not in London nor had I been mugged. I knew instantly that I had been hacked. I tried to log on to my hotmail email and the password had been changed by the hackers. I then went to my gmail account and sent a message to all contacts to disregard the hotmail email. Within a couple of minutes the hackers had taken over my gmail too.

I checked facebook and that has been taken over as well.

I then started frantically changing all my credit card password, bank and 401K passwords et al I also put a freeze on my credit.

I have since managed to recover the gmail account and changed the default email address to a new account I opened at yahoo.

My question is how can I get the hotmail and facebook account back under my control? I had iYogi scan my computer and no malware or virus was found so I think this is just the classic scam trying to trick people who know me into wiring money.

After much effort I did get a phone number for MSN and spoke to someone who told me because it is a free account they will give no support to it except for the online forum. I sent in the online forum form, but have not had any response to my pleas for help from facebook or hotmail.

Your post in quite a jumble of terms and problems.

First, are you sure your computer is running Windows 98? I'd be surprised if it had a modern browser and sufficient resources to run Flash games.

Second, what does e-mail have to do with Facebook games? They're two entirely separate things.

I'm not sure how this can happen, I'm not trying to give the usual "this is not happening, I never make mistakes!", but I truly believe I have not messed up. I understand that your emails & accounts don't randomly become comprised, but I don't know how this time, I really don't. I've been with computers for a VERY LONG time, and I have made my fair share of mistakes and had my fair share of viruses and malware, but this makes no sense to me.

I was browsing Facebook and then logged out automatically upon refresh. Upon trying to log back in, my login was incorrect. I went to check my Yahoo email and I was logged out of that (I always have keep me signed in enabled), and details were incorrect as well. I did the usual recovery of my account via my secondary email and got back in. Whoever compromised my email moved all of the password change notifications / emails to the trash folder so I wouldn't see it, but the trash was never emptied... so a lot of good that did.

Anyways, the user logged in from Cali and it showed the IP and everything via Facebook. I got everything back and change my passwords, but I just cannot fathom how my accounts were compromised like that. I use Noscript so unless I allow a script on a certain site, specifically phishing links, the scripts won't execute.

I've never had this issue until tonight... and I am kind of paranoid right now. I ran a Malwarebytes quick scan and it found nothing as usual. What else should I do? Should I change my... Read more

A:My Facebook and email were compromised, but I have regained access...

I would suggest making sure you know your security questions. If this password is the same on another email or website that is critical remember to change it. All you can really do is change your passwords link your accounts to your phone or a secondary email of yours.

Use another security software to scan your computer just to double check its not on your end.

Personally i use the same passwords for all non critical stuff forums/ random sites

Emails have similar password except for 2 which are highly important to me.

and my bank all have passwords that i dont even remember however they are encrypted in a file on my computer. The encryption password is strong and secure also.

Can you warn Facebook about it? I don't think they monitor accounts since it's a free service after all.

Good Luck though

hi, ive been trying to work out how to retrieve my facebook group I set up linked from my personal facebook page, I decided to unlink it via creating a new email address that would take all the messages that get sent to email address as it was clogging up my original email address i use for personal use.

That went fine, then I synced it as it had the option to do this with my own personal facebook account, and some weeks later i was messing about on settings and accidentally unsynced it but in the process i was also deleting old email address I dont use anymore, and accidentally deleted the facebook group page email address I had set up for it, plus I cannot remember the password. so now, I cannot remember the password or email address I deleted, and thats left me with the group i admin no longer accessible as an admin.

I am friends within the group via my own personal facebook profile pages, but cannot work out how to get back in and be an admin, facebook have no way from what I have seen to get any help as they do not have a personal technical reply messaging service, its frustrating, as now some members are not staying in the rules of the group as they are posting irrelevant topics, so my group is becoming a heated debate on anything. and I have not added a retrieval email address to the group, or a friend as they suggest in case of getting locked out. any help would be appreciated please. thank you

Two problems.....
1. My Windows Mail was purged clean yesterday morning. The account is still active on my desktop and on Verizon's website. Strangely, all my contacts are still in it but no ability to send or receive and all folders gone.

Also all my stored passwords have been erased and Google Chrome favorites deleted, but not Windows favorites.

2. Using Windows I have some web pages that I can not connect to. They will connect usually on google Chrome.
Also, on both Windows and Google Chrome on certain websites I can not use the "back" are, and malewarebytes as well as AVG. All came back clean. Also completely disconnected modem for an hour and then reconnected.

My knowledge manuvering around the computer is above average.

I do have a clean laptop for backup use and research.

Hi,

I need help! This started a little while ago, less maliciously, on my other computer. Evenutally I allowed AVG to remove all the threats it found and it completely messed up that computer (as yet undealt with and presently unable to even enable the wireless connection). On this computer (which was networked to the other one), occasionally a Google link would open as a page I hadn't clicked on and I would have some sort of AVG warning or a Yahoo! Error page. Then other sites started coming up (a whole pile of different sites), but I figure they were just bad links. Then, a few days ago, my gmail password was reset and I was temporarily unable to access my account (I had Google help me with it). I didn't consider a trojan or malware or anything, yet (I'm not a techie, and I figured my three protection programs would have caught it). Then the Google links problem started happening much more often and with links I new were good (like nhl.com, bbc.com, etc). At the same time these links started popping up as new windows or sometimes new tabs, even though I wasn't opening them in new windows or tabs. That's when I realized I was infected. I ran scans with AVG Free 11, AdAware, and Spybot S&D, and found nothing. I started searching for solutions online, and found your forum and others. I download HitmanPro 3.5, SUPERAntiSpyware, and Malwarebytes Anti Malware. I ran the first two and found and deleted some tracking cookies. Malwarebytes wouldn'... Read more

Symptoms:
Several symptoms may relate to one or more issues

1) Connection to Facebook.  Since the issues started I have only been able to connect to Facebook on about 3-4 occasions.  Most of the time I can get a login screen (but it does take longer to load) and then a screen to Review Recent Login.  I seldom can get past this screen.  After a minute or so I get the message “Internet Explorer cannot display the web page”

2) Load attachment in Yahoo email.  I had an email to send with 3 pdf attachments ranging from 900k to 1400k.  I had to attach each file separately as opposed to selecting all three at one time due to upload failing.  With each file it took several retires to get the file uploaded.  It took almost 2 hours to upload the 3 files for email attachments.  Screen shots with Task Manager Networking and Performance activity available.

3) Refresh IE pages often.  I have to refresh pages more often than I used to when I open a link.

4) System instability.  Applications, especially Microsoft Word and QuickVerse now crash frequently.  Word has crashed while scrolling through a document.

Note: I can connect to Yahoo, Yahoo mail and several other sites without much of a problem.

Beginning of problem:
On Jan 29 I had a power outage during a storm and when I did start my PC up the next day I began having video problems and discovered my video card was failin... Read more

After signing off my Facebook and MSN email accounts (desktop) at night, the next morning when I boot up, they are open. Also, when on MSN home page, Live Mail, or web pages with links, my Optical Wireless Pilot Mouse left click does not function on most links I click on - I have to right click and then click on OPEN.
I use Norton 360, and have also run Malwarebytes, Spybot Search & Destroy,  SUPERAntiSpyware trying to find my problem.
I found Bleeping Computer when using Norton Web Support.  I hope there is someone out there that can advise me on what to do next.

A:Email & Facebook are already open when first starting WIN7/IE10 desktop

No reason for them to be open unless someone/something has them running at boot, IMO.

I'd use a startup manager such as Startup Control Panel - http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml and see what's listed.  Any items listed can be unchecked to prevent them running at boot, this does not prevent the program from running on demand.

Hello Tech Support Members. This is long, though it is a culmination of past (solved threads, that aren't) information all in one as well as an all around plea to the selfless experts. I am creating this final last ditch thread to help shed some light on a real enigma that has been cloaking my system.

Over the past month or so I have created and followed through with several threads all stemming from one main issue regarding my system security (namely hidden users and permissions) as far as I can tell.

In the beginning I could not really provide much in the line of symptoms persay, nor could I quite narrow down which method of attack (if not many, or numerous at one time) being utilized. Furthermore, have a narrowed down area to begin looking at and troubleshooting in.

Now, I feel there is much I can provide if asked to submit, beyond generic scans which turn up nothing. Most of the smoking gun actually appears with the aid of my process explorer application.

To complicate matters even further is that this person can view and assimilate a fellow TSF lending bogus/damaging advice. If not doing actively that, can at the very least view the steps I may take to resolve the problem and in turn get a head start.

Also, the person could in theory manipulate the virus behavior to become something else all together. I have my doubts on this consideration, though, if considered, thus cannot be discounted from the problem, so I mention it just as a heads up. I highly h... Read more

My wife was given a computer that seemed good but i am not sure if it was infected with trojans and spyware i thrn tried and used a usb onto 2 of the laptops and seems i got same thing on all 3 i am using a desktop at present since i do not feel safe on the other ones .  After  weeks of using our computer, she suddenly wasn't able to sign into hotmail or Skype.  Her password had been changed as well as mine  Then as we tried to reset the password we discovered her email address had been deleted.  She had just accessed and used her email the day before.  Her information was definitely stolen and I feel it was probably logged while using our computer.  The reason i suspect is my wife and I have noticed many pop-ups, especially when using Google Chrome and redirects     I had attempted to download a VPN browser software  and it was free of spyware/malware.  But in my haste, I downloaded and installed the software from a location that I am sure had spyware/malware software attached and now i am using windows 8 on this pc and get a constant dial up window at certain times and all programs are running slow many are crashing and more think backdoor trojans etc.  so now,  please we beg, please, help!...

It gave an error message and said that not all could be transferred. I was able to get all my bookmarks back however I'm not able to pull up GMAIL (until I refresh) and I cannot pull up my Comcast email. It's fine on IE but not Firefox. Furthermore, when I went to Facebook, chat will not work. When I click "older posts" after I scroll to bottom of recent status updates, nothing happens.

I am not sure what to do but this forum always helps me so... HELP PLEASE

I am not sure how DETAILED I can be. I cannot describe any very obvious symptoms. My intuition tells me the attacker is fairly sophisticated. One major symptom is that the attacker as made it impossible now for both of my computers to use my own wireless router. I can only use the hardline. System slowing. At start up a suspicious very very small window appears in the center of the desktop and on the taskbar which quickly disappears. Complete and out of blue complete crashes (even while away from the idle computer). Typing on my keyboard letters, but letters and symbols appear. What I have searched for in google, the results do not appear to match, though not always nor with any predictive pattern. Things along that nature. I truly appreciate any and all time and help you can offer.

12/3 - ran unhackme and adaware, before I came across this site and the warnings about doing so. I found 2 issues, tinyproxy and bulivar27. Thought I had it all clean, downloaded zonealarm firewall and locked the box down. Also downloaded and ran AVG Free.
